"Its only a few more feet, Marinette," Adrien yelled above the wind. Marinette grabbed Adrien's hand as she checked to make sure Tikki and Plagg hadn't fallen out of her purse she always carried.
A snowstorm had sprung up out of nowhere, and Adrien was hoping to reach Leo's Cheese Shop. Adrien sighed with relief as he felt Marinette's fingers close around his.
Bang! The door to the shop swung open loudly and both Marinette and Adrien worked to push the door shut. "My, my," a gentle voice said behind them. "Surely you didn't come out in this inclement weather just for cheese." "We were finishing patrol, when the storm come out nowhere," Marinette explained. "Though Adrien did warn me about the dark clouds at the start. I should have listened to you," she touched his arm. "It doesn't matter now, and those clouds can be unpredictable." Marinette nodded, making soft sounds for Nikki and Plagg. Even if the magical creatures had been alive for thousand of years, snow could be frightening with its power.
"Now that your all safe, how about I whip up some supper?" "That would be great, Leo. Aren't you here kinda late tonight?" Leo ran his hand through his fluffy blonde hair and sighed. "I wanted to put the tree up, but I have so much paperwork. Which is a shame, because I love sprucing up the tree."
Marinette glanced at Adrien, who nodded. "I know we aren't in our suits, but would you like us to decorate it?" Leo smiled. "You are so sweet. And paperwork can wait for the night, let's decorate the tree together!"
Oh, what fun they had! Leo popped popcorn and Adrien strung it around the tree as Marinette and the Kwamis worked on paper snowflakes and snowman for the windows.
"Any plans for Christmas, Leo?" Adrien asked, alternating between red, green, and sliver balls. "I'd thought I make myself some turkey and curl up in front of the TV."
Plagg, to everyone's surprise, piped up. "But then you'll be all alone. No one should be alone on Christmas. Can he come to our place, Marinette?"
Tears sprang to the older man's eyes. "Oh, Plagg. I would love to. Now, as a reward for all your hard work, I'm going to make us a special treat!"
An hour later, Adrien, Marinette, and the Kwamis were enjoying a delicious slice of cake. The snowstorm had changed their plans for tonight, but they were very glad it had.
