The townsfolk had been let into the Northwest party, and the Northwest curse had finally been lifted. During the commotion, Dipper and Pacifica stepped away from the party so they could be alone. They sat in the garden laughing their cares away and enjoying being in each other's company.

"This is the most fun I've had in forever!" said Pacifica.

"Really?!" said Dipper. "That's a surprise!"

"Yeah! Messing up my parents' rug made me feel so alive!"

"Maybe next time you should try messing up that secret room!"

"That's an idea!"

The kids laughed but then calmed down.

"But seriously, thanks a lot, Dipper."

"What are you thanking me for? You're the one who opened the gate and let the townsfolk in."

"True, but I was finally able to stand up for myself and to my parents because of what you'd said. I know you were mad at me at first, but I was really glad that you came back. People only like and wanna hangout with me because I'm a Northwest. No one's ever tried to understand or relate to me. But then you encouraged me to do something right for once. I don't wanna be a deceitful person like the rest of my family. I still wanna be rich of course, but I wanna be different from them."

"Well I'm glad you feel that way. It's thanks to your newfound bravery you were able to break the curse and save everyone that got turned into wood. Even a dork-ish kid like myself. I don't know if anyone else will say it, but I'll always be grateful for what you did."

Hearing Dipper say that made Pacifica feel so proud that she happily laid her head down on his shoulder, which took the latter completely by surprise.

"Pacifica?"

"My parents will likely ground me when the party's over. So can we stay like this for a bit? I wanna be truly happy with someone who gets me for a while."

Dipper happily accepted and rested his head on top of Pacifica's. He placed his hand on top of hers, who in turn turned her palm upward and grasped his. They silently sat holding hands, wanting to make the moment last for as long as possible.
