Crowley's P.O.V.:
I noticed when Aziraphale entered my cottage. Too drunk to care I slightly hoped that he was here to kill me. I think a human found this place. Maybe if Aziraphale doesn't kill me I could convince the human to get holy water for me so I can kill myself. Heaven will come after Aziraphale anyway they did me when I questioned why we were fighting Lucifer and his followers. They went after Gabriel when he didn't go with their plans.
I was surprised that the angel's presence in my cottage didn't leave. It sometimes was faint like he went outside but he never left the property. Then there was the energy I was unfamiliar with there were two one felt comforting like Aziraphale but the other one was dangerous like one of the other demons. That's when she appeared in my dream. "Mother..." I said coldly still a little bitter about her letting me fall.
"Rapha... Crowley. I'm sure you have questions and I have something to ask of you." She sat down in a chair that wasn't there before it looked like it was made of clouds and she asked me to sit. Sitting on my couch I told her to talk.
"How long have you been asleep my dear child?" She asked. I didn't answer that I knew that it was at least a month. And I learned that no one admits that they slept for a month.
"I don't know lost track of time. Couldn't be more than a few days." I lied.
"Try a month." She told me and I shrugged it off. It wasn't the first time I slept for a month. Most of the time my dreams were of times spent with Aziraphale. She was still talking trying to convince me to wake up. I felt Aziraphale use his magic probably to start decorating my cottage. If he had to add a tree it better be a fake one, it annoys me to no end when humans cut trees down only to toss them out a month later.
"The strange energies?" I asked her.
"A gift for you and Aziraphale you two will have your side and jobs as protectors as Earth." She explained. And I sighed. She asked me to walk now I of course didn't move. "Just wake up will you? The favour is to look after Warlock." she added.
"Why would I need to look after Warlock again? He has his family." I replied. That's when she told me what happened to the boy I looked after years ago. I wanted to scream. Then she told me that Warlock had been over here a few times and he had taken the phone off the hook for me.
"Fine, I'll take him in when I get up." I promised. I woke up and frowned wanting to curse. I found my sunglasses on the table beside my bed quickly putting them on I sighed and got dressed. Walking into the living room there was Aziraphale on my couch asleep the whole house decorated. The fire was lit sighing I went into the greenhouse to look after the plants there.
I did curse when I accidentally pruned too much off one of the bushes. "Oh Crowley you are awake Warlock and Adam were worried about you." Aziraphale told me appearing in the doorway. I didn't say anything to him. I wasn't ready for that. He reached for my sunglasses but I caught his hand. "They stay on. You were gone for months your last words to me were I forgive you. How do you think it made me feel, it was worse than falling. Then you just come walk right in, clean and decorate my new place. And that better be a fake tree in my living room. You also probably used my kitchen two." I ranted.
"Crowley, I'm sorry I know I was wrong I'll do the dance. But yes it is a fake tree I knew a real tree would bother you. But there are two trees I decorated outside. Please come sit with me and we can talk." He replied
"Why should I supreme archangel Aziraphale? " I questioned.
"Maybe because I'm just Aziraphale again. The Almighty let me go. And we really need to talk." He added that didn't make it better. I just said something about having to get Warlock and left. The Bentley however had other ideas.
"Warlock is safe in the bookshop. Crowley, please it's two days before Christmas and it's snowing come and sit by the fire so we can talk this through. " Aziraphale tried again I went in and sat on the floor by the fire well on a cushion I grabbed from the couch. He followed me in and sat on the floor as well taking another cushion from the couch. "Equal ground my d... Crowley." he told me.
That's when I felt someone use a miracle I wasn't sure if I did or Aziraphale or maybe Mom was just trying to move things along since I'm awake now. But when I looked up there was Mistletoe and I groaned knowing the tradition with this plant "Well rules are rules Aziraphale." I declared before kissing him and to my surprise he kissed me back. We probably would have kept kissing but my cell went off it read the bookshop's number so I handed it to Aziraphale. "it's for you probably I'm going to get myself a cup of expresso." I explained. Leaving the living room for the kitchen I wonder just how long Aziraphale has been here and why did he let me sleep?
My thoughts were anywhere but on making my expresso. But once I had five shots of expresso I went back to Aziraphale. "It was Warlock she wanted to know if it was okay if she spent Christmas with Adam instead of us." He explained.
"She since when was Warlock a she?" I asked surprised I wasn't angry being genderfluid myself I accept that kinda stuff easily.
"Early this month I believe. She told me that she believed that she was like you genderfluid. Then her parents kicked her out so she has been living in the bookshop for now. I meant to talk to you about that. But we need to talk about us first." He explained before he asked my pronouns.
"Still he/ him thanks for asking Aziraphale. I'll let you know if that changes." I replied.
"Oh good I was afraid I messed up to the point you wouldn't." He told me that Warlock found here because I must have been dreaming about her since the Bentley kidnapped her. She then spent a week here thinking it was safer than her own home. I listened to Aziraphale's story before doing the apology dance.
"So what was the gift from mom?" I asked.
"Her blessing for us to get married and the rings but something is weird about them." He explained before going to get them. He was right something was off about those rings holding one in my hand it felt cool to the touch like ice water while Aziraphale explained the other one felt like it burns.
"Our side and new jobs that's what she told me. She did not say anything about these." I told him. It was probably Christmas Eve now. And I didn't think Aziraphale would be back in time for Christmas so I got him nothing. I took off my sunglasses looking nervous. "Aziraphale, let's not do gifts this year. I didn't get you anything it's too late for me to get you anything." I added.
"Oh, but Crowley I already got you something. Adam has it. Since I didn't know if I would be back." The angel told me. Now I need to get him something. What could I get him on such short notice? "But you do not have to get me anything." He added. I felt like I did this would be the first time in a while if I didn't.
We went back to the couch and talked some more. "So you love me?" I asked him.
"Since you saved me in 1941 my dear Crowley. You?" He asked me back.
"Since Eden so six thousand years. I love you, angel. So are you willing to be on our side now?" I responded. He kissed me again before telling me that he was.
"To the world." He told me while slipping the ring that was giving off demonic energy onto his finger. He shuddered before he had a fever I took him to my room quickly and set him on the bed. I then went and got the other ring I sat next to Aziraphale after getting it.
"To the world." I agreed before slipping the ring onto my finger. I felt like I was dunked in ice water so I went next to Aziraphale to help him cool down. He fell asleep and I couldn't move so I tried to use my powers but I couldn't. I was going to make rooms for Warlock and a library for Aziraphale. It would have been their Christmas gifts. I'll talk to him after he wakes up.
It was lightly snowing when Aziraphale woke up the sunlight that was making it through the clouds reflected off the snow-covered ground. I shielded the sleeping angel with my wings until he decided he wanted to get up. That's when I noticed that they weren't black anymore but they weren't white either, instead, they were a dark gray similar to rain clouds with dark green undertones. Aziraphale had his wings out as well they looked different two they were also gray but a lighter shade with blue undertones.
With a snap of my fingers, the shades on the windows closed and the skylight had a cover attached to a hook on the ceiling. I got out of bed to start cooking knowing that Aziraphale would want something to eat so crepes it was. It was a few minutes later when I heard movement from the bedroom. "Crowley, my dear are you still here?" he called afraid I left.
"Be right up angel, thought you would like something to eat." I called back. It took a few more minutes to get everything ready but then I went back to the bedroom taking the food, a mug of tea and a cup of coffee with me. I smiled so Crowley- Fell or Fell- Crowley?" I asked the angel in my bed who was now looking at his new wings.
" Aziraphale Crowley- Fell I like it don't you my dear?" He replied and I nodded. He then noticed the tea and Crepes I had he looked starved guess they didn't feed him in heaven. I handed him the food when I heard a truck coming Aziraphale didn't seem worried about it. "Guess we should head downstairs my dear." He suggested as the truck came to a stop outside.
There was a knock a few minutes later. I stayed in the living room but Aziraphale got the door. I snapped my fingers and a small gift for Aziraphale appeared in the tree. Then when I heard him mention Adam and Warlock I waved my hand and two gifts for them appeared. There was now a room that didn't exist just for Warlock the key for it was under the tree. I had no idea what I ended up getting Adam. I got Aziraphale a record full of classical music and some of his favourite chocolates.
The next thing I knew I had a teenager on me in a hug. "Nanny I was so glad that you got up. I was afraid you would sleep through today. And then all the work Adam and I would have been pointless." Warlock said.
"Nonsense I would have waited for him to wake up even if it took a century.' Aziraphale replied. Why did he bring that up? But the boys just shrugged it off. Wait Warlock knows how? Then there was a gift placed in my lap. Warlock found his room key and went looking for his room. I ended up getting Adam tickets for some play on the west end. Well, Aziraphale and I did.
"This is too much all we did was get you two together." Adam pointed out.
"Nonsense Adam that is the best gift ever. We don't have to hide anymore. We had a private wedding once we talked things through." Aziraphale explained kissing me on the cheek. That's when Warlock called Adam away. "But I must ask who owns that truck outside?" Aziraphale asked.
"It's mine. Anyway, Merry Christmas Crowley even a demon as nice as you deserves a present." Adam replied before going to find Warlock. When it was just me and Aziraphale again he reached for a bag that the boys brought with them.
"Angel you didn't have to. Just having you back and as my husband is enough." I explained. But he insisted I opened it. I opened it and it was a snow globe with two miniature Bentleys one black and the other yellow there were two miniature people in front of the cars no not people an angel and a demon. They seemed to be embracing each other on one side of the road was a garden and on the other the bookshop. It was one of those ones that played music so I carefully turned the winding key just to hear a music box version of Queen's Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Wanting to hear it again I wound it up again. I got a different song this time still Queen but it was titled Good Old Fashioned Loverboy again it was a music box version. I went to do it a third time but Aziraphale stopped me.
"I might have used some miracles on it why don't you shake it? Before going through the songs." He suggested. Taking the idea I shook the globe and watched as the little angel and demon kissed as the fake snow fell around them only for them to return to their spots as the snow settled. I watched the scene a few times before Warlock and Adam came back to tell us that they were heading out. They wished us a Merry Christmas and promised to drop by the next day weather permitting. I found a place for the snow globe in the greenhouse and got some of my best flowers for the table. The day went quietly with the two of us on our comfy couch by the lit fire, roast beef in the oven and my angel husband reading out loud as we cuddle.
"Merry Christmas angel." I say sleepily after dinner. He smiles as he helps with the dishes. With a wave of his hand, we are both in warm pyjamas his tartan and mine black with red and yellow trim.
"Merry Christmas my dear Crowley." He replied after we made ourselves comfortable in bed. He began reading again and I eventually drifted off to sleep. And I had no plans of sleeping more than a few hours. Not with the angel in my house, in my bed. I felt a light pressure on my head and a whisper of goodnight and Merry Christmas from Aziraphale who put his book down and shut off his reading light. He must be tired two.
"Merry Christmas Angel." I whisper moving closer.
"Merry Christmas Crowley." He whispered back wrapping his arms around me. That's how two teenagers got an angel to leave heaven to give me the greatest gift ever. Something I never thought I would get.
