Note: Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas! I hope you enjoy this one-shot. It's just a lot of fluffy sappy moments because these two deserve all the happiness in the world.
Summary: Subaru and Kamui spend Christmas Eve together. Their first holiday together as a couple, enjoying their night out together, having a little coffee date, seeing Christmas lights/decorations, and exchanging some meaningful gifts. SubKam Holiday fluff I don't know what else to tell you :) It's like T-Rating just mild BL romance and fluff.

Christmas festivities are bound, crowds surrounding the city's biggest shopping district. Tokyo was bustling with a mix of residents and people traveling from all over to celebrate the holiday event. The 24th of Christmas, Christmas Eve. This holiday marked a special occasion the first Christmas Eve Kamui and Subaru would spend as a couple.
To get an early start on Christmas festivities and avoid the rush of crowds Subaru and Kamui arrived early, in the afternoon. They stopped into a cute cafe themed with video game mascots adorned in little Santa hats and colorful bows.
The giant smile on the server's face once the door opened, should have been no surprise. But the attention the beautiful couple got going out somewhere was not something either got used to.
Kamui huffed, rolling his eyes and watching the employee practically tripping over himself at the sight of Subaru. He clutched his boyfriend's hand tightly, holding their laced fingers up in hopes of sending an obvious hint.
"Welcome." The young brunet looked to be in his 20s, similar to Subaru, and adorned in a themed apron. At the sound of the door turning, he came rushing to be the one to serve the couple. "For two today?" He asks and grasps a few menus. The special holiday menus, with desserts, drinks, and other food displayed in a way that looks just like a themed game mascot or similar character.
"Yes, just us two," Kamui spoke out with obvious intention. He went as far as to rest his head on Subaru's shoulder, nuzzling him. His lover raised his eyebrow for a second but made no move to stop his love. He gently pets Kamui's head, fingers brushing through the soft hair.
Whether or not the other man noticed the display of affection, was unclear. He seemed cheerful, waving them over to the cafe's best-looking booth, the backrests were covered in various elemental symbols and creatures. The server beamed at the beautiful couple, eyes glossy scanning over the pair.
"What can I get for you both to drink?" He asks, politely grasping out a little notepad.
Kamui squeaks, feeling Subaru's arm slink around his waist, oh so casually. He's pulled in close. Their server's light gray eyes sparkle brighter at the subtle affection being shared.
Subaru orders a coffee, simple and his usual. He turns his head, lips brushing the other shell of Kamui's ear. "What would you like?"
The younger male practically jolts up at the sudden flirtation. He swallows hard, a heat of red rising. Both Subaru and the young worker seem amused by the adorable reaction, albeit both for differing reasons. Subaru makes his actions well known to his beloved but is tactful enough that it doesn't cause as much attention from others.
"I-I-I…" Kamui stumbles ordering the hot cocoa drink on the front of the menu with dragon and phoenix-shaped marshmallows. "I'll have this, please…" he says rather meekly.
Subaru pulls Kamui in a little tighter, by the waist. He knows how precious his beloved can be but he doesn't want anyone else to indulge in those reactions like he does.
"Certainly, I'll be back shortly," The young brunet dips his head politely. His actions show no sign of trying to steal either beauty away for himself, a task that was impossible to begin with. But he seemed rather enamored observing the beautiful couple. They were at peace together, after a past of rather tragic and damaging relationships in the past they finally found their way to each other. Now they were here, and unable to spend a second without a gentle touch or tender whisper.
"With two beauties like that, I can't complain…" Their server whispered as he turned and left to get their drinks.
"Kitten," Subaru whispers the name, brushing his fingers through his lover's silky blue-black bangs. As always he sees plush lips pushing up to a pout. "You don't have to be so nervous…" But just like Subaru, Kamui could deny his precious one nothing. Even if it meant calling him embarrassing nicknames that made his heart flutter and body shiver.
"I'm…not a kitten though," Kamui only says this much, leaning into his boyfriend's touch.
"My lovely kitten," Subaru adds and shakes his head. He makes sure his gaze is met by beautiful violet eyes and speaks seriously. "You know my eyes only 'see' you, no one else."
"I…it's not like that. I trust you and know you…" Kamui explains in little murmurs, feeling a gentle squeeze on his hand. "I just don't like when others look at you like that." He sighs, resting his head on his boyfriend's shoulder again, feeling the soft weight of Subaru's chin on his head. "Cause you're mine…"
Subaru smiles tenderly at the admission. They'd come so far together, days of loving another like a dream long past. In some instances a nightmare. Yet, soon they saw the rainbow shining through the rain, falling together and holding each other up all the same.
"Kamui," Subaru parts his lips to speak before seeing their server cheerfully chime out.
"Sorry for the wait!" The young male holds the mugs of coffee and cocoa on a tray.
"What's this?" Kamui voiced his thoughts aloud, the themed coasters given were cuter than expected. Two game character sprites holding hands with a heart in between.
"Oh, I forgot, we have this limited edition coaster set for couples coming in on Christmas Eve. You two are so sweet together I thought you might like them."
"W-what?" Kamui sputters, flushing from his neck up to his ears. He hides his face in Subaru's arm while their server happily skips back to the kitchen giving them a moment.
"I guess we were found out," Subaru chuckles, kissing the top of his beloved's head. He wasn't trying to hide their relationship from anyone, quite the contrary. Even during visits, at the Sumeragi household, he held Kamui's hand with a sense of pride and devotion.
Their visit to the cafe was peaceful, lost in their own little world. Of course, every worker and nearly every customer couldn't help but awe at the gorgeous couple.
"I'd like to order the same as that couple!" Pairs of people would explain, flooding in for their dates. The rising of customers caused the already popular cafe to skyrocket in their sales, with people lining outside.
"Maybe we should try to keep them longer. They're boosting business like crazy even on Christmas Eve it's getting busier." One of the workers smiles while whispering to the cafe's manager.
Their manager smiles at this, quite pleased. "Let's offer them a free dessert to begin." She mentions seeing the gorgeous couple driving up sales, keeping customers lingering, and buying more. Some couples looking through the window of the cafe form a line outside, wanting to experience a romantic evening like the one they see.
Cheerfully, their waiter sauntered to their table. He held out a tray and placed the tray down.
"For you both to enjoy," he exclaims with a little bow.
"W-we didn't order this?" Kamui sputtered, eyes going wide and sparkly at the delicious sundae stacked high, covered with the sweetest-smelling syrup.
"It's a gift from our manager for being wonderful customers," the young worker explains with a beaming smile.
Subaru raised his eyebrows at that. He scanned his eyes around the cafe, it was much busier now than when they first came in. He hadn't kept track, lost in holding Kamui close, whispering sweet words of affection, close enough their noses brush.
"You two make quite a lovely pair, and have brought more curious customers and couples in." He explains seeing as the explanation didn't seem to satisfy either of the two beauties.
Kamui's eyes widen, taking in those words, coming back to reality in a crash. He groans, cheeks feeling on fire, as he goes back to hiding his face in Subaru's shoulder. How had he gotten so carried away? So far gone and flirting so shamelessly where anyone could see. He glances up. 'Subaru doesn't seem bothered by it. As a matter of fact…'
Subaru wore quite a pleased smile on his lips. He cheerfully thanked the waiter and ordered their meals for both of them.
Kamui's soft doe eyes peek out watching Subaru, coming out of his hiding place. "You seem happy."
"Mhm," Subaru nods in approval, before leaning in to whisper into a flushed ear. Now, there was no worry in his mind that anyone had the wrong idea, that Kamui was anything but completely taken. "Don't worry my love, I'll give you much more affection when we're alone."
Kamui looked up, eyes widening as he felt his body shiver everywhere, his heart clench, and sheets turn scarlet. He quickly hid himself away again. Only coming out when their food arrived.
For the rest of their visit, he couldn't keep the color from his cheeks.
Beginning a new tradition in the shopping mall was the tree lighting. An enormous Christmas Tree stood in the center of the busy center, and crowds of countless people circled it. Every evening, the lights would be turned on, illuminating the whole shopping center. On Christmas Eve, it shined the brightest, little gifts under the tree lighting up as well.
Kamui and Subaru admired the sight, from a fair distance off to the side. It was close enough to see but gave a needed distance from the crowds. More time just being close together, not caring for the world outside.
Kamui shivered a little, feeling the temperature drop, snow shoveled off to the side of the shopping center.
Subaru frowns, at this, hands grasping Kamui's hips and spinning him to face him. In a swift instant, he answered the unspoken question from Kamui's open lips. "Here, wear this," Subaru insistently slipped off the long dark green scarf around his neck.
"Subaru, n-no I want you to keep warm Ah-" Kamui paused, feeling the soft fabric coiling around his neck. His tender boyfriend could be surprisingly stubborn when it came to things like this.
"I'll be fine, " Subaru assures, grasping Kamui's hand tighter and pulling it closer. "Besides I'd never forgive myself if you got sick when I could have taken better care of you." Their fingers interlocked as they slipped into the cozy pocket in Subaru's long coat.
"S-Subaru," Kamui stutters, violet eyes going wide at the sudden intimate gesture. He should be used to his beloved always being so sweet. Still, Subaru kept finding ways to surprise him, making his heartbeat and singing as though it were for the first time in his life.
Like now-
"Let me keep you warm," Subaru hushed any following protests. Kamui found his heart pounding wildly as Subaru took his other hand and pulled it up to his lips, kissing it tenderly and blowing it upon the cold skin. Tender lips peppered over the chilled hand, a private, tender smile directed right at Kamui.
"Ah., S-Subaru! You need to warn me before…" Kamui buries his face lower into his scarf. His lover's scarf was covered in the scent of Subaru. He feels the burn to his cheeks, expression melting. Being this close, seeing Subaru look at him with gentle eyes and a tender smile, made it hard to worry about anything more. He murmurs something along the lines of "Before you do something like that…"
Several more kisses peppered over every knuckle and finger of Kamui's hand. After doing so he paused the gesture, saving more of this for when they're alone, and pulling Kamui's hand down and wrapping it up in the warmth of his coat pocket.
Hand occupied, Subaru rested his forehead down on the shorter male. Their temples brushed up to one another in a gentle kiss. "Better?"
"It feels better…" Kamui admits abashedly. He could feel the curious gazes from others that would quickly turn back to the tree. Thankfully the dark of the night gave them a bit of privacy on their first Christmas Eve together, so this wasn't too common an occurrence.
"Good," Subaru speaks softly and sweetly. His lips move delicately as they kiss wherever they can reach in this position. Warming up his beloved's hands for the remaining moments until the first light upon the top of the tree draws their attention. The crowd gasped, oohing, and awing at the event.
The couple looked at the glistening side, their hands interlocked, warming in the warm haven of a trench coat knowing something so simple could feel so wonderful, giving a feeling of belonging. Kamui sighed with contentment, their sides flushed against each other, he leaned his head to Subaru's arm. The most gentle of smiles graced the older male's lips feeling the one he loved this much leaning on him, accepting and melting into his warmth.
The sight of the large star on top of the tree was certainly beautiful. But the true beauty Subaru's eyes found wasn't from looking at the star or tree itself. His heart stuttered seeing the bright lights reflecting in Kamui's blue-violet orbs. They were so glossy and dazzling, full of light and hope.
Kamui's glimmering orbs could see through him in a single glance, with omnipotent power to brighten Subaru's whole world or shatter it to pieces. He trusted Kamui, and knew his beloved, while capable of such power, had never done anything close to the latter, nor would he hurt him in such a way. His past was not his present nor his future.
Subaru lost his breath, seeing those eyes shift to meet his own. "Subaru?"
The older male couldn't begin to respond. On instinct he took Kamui's hands and guided him to turn around, wrapping him up in an endearing embrace.
The event of the giant tree lighting up brought such liveliness and energy to every shop and cafe in the shopping district. They illuminated the whole area in various colors and patterns of lights.
This wasn't the only sight to see, there were several walk-throughs of lights and decorations, in the shopping center and a grand display in a park close by. Kamui and Subaru walked closely side by side, their fingers still interlaced and hands held once again in the warmth of a coat pocket.
With this closeness and the cold out, gave Kamui the perfect reason to cuddle up to his boyfriend's side for warmth. The pair turned countless pairs of heads as they walked through. Countless lights from a regular white to a rainbow of different colors were wrapped around every tree. Beautiful archways were decorated with lights, from the entrances to the park. The lights formed colorful shapes of little snowflakes, presents, and wreaths.
The sight was quite beautiful, the crowds of people in the shopping center had been a bit louder, enthusiastic for the holidays. There was also something nice about the calm, quiet scenery as various friends, couples, and families enjoyed the sight of the beautiful decor and lights.
Shimmering, sparkling fountains cascaded with a stream of water, soft holiday instrumentals, and lights projected into the water bursting at the top. Red, green, blue, yellow, and a plethora of holiday colors took turns reflecting in the bursts of water gushing up from the layered fountain.
A few vendors were set up along the side of the pathway, right before entering a bright and dazzling tunnel. There were already many people lined up, the site of beautiful decor and countless lights could be seen even from just the park's entrance.
"Would you like anything?" Subaru gently squeezed the hand on his own, gesturing to the vendor booth selling a variety of hot drinks.
"Hm," Kamui looked over towards the display images on the side of the booth. Whipped cream topped beverages mostly cocoa, tea, and coffee. He found his sweet tooth looking at the nice cup of cocoa, and with a little breeze coming in it could be nice to have a little more warmth. But… "I mean don't need anything, but if you do then-"
"Come here then," Subaru laughs gently, his gaze tender and enamored. He noticed every little sparkle in his beloved's eyes. He paid extra attention to those expressions in his violet orbs when his words were more hesitant. He tugged on Kamui's hand, pulling him to the side of the stall. "I know you don't need anything but I want to get things for you. I'll get a drink too."
"Subaru…" Kamui flushes, cheeks rising, and feeling heavy from his boyfriend causing him to constantly smile all night. This an occurrence on many many nights they were able to spend together. He sighs, seeing his beloved already bringing them to the side to stand in line. The younger male shook his head, seeing his gentle agreeable lover being stubborn now and then. Being the cause of that stubbornness, to spoil and care for his beloved no matter what sent a warmth crawling all over his chest.
When they arrived, Subaru ordered some generic coffee types, with some room for cream and sugar. Kamui's lips curled up, it seemed what Subaru's sister said was accurate, since getting together, Subaru had developed more of a taste for sweetness. Although… Kamui blushed remembering how that conversation ended up. He knew Hokuto was implying more than just sweet foods Subaru craved for.
"What would you like?" Subaru brushed his lips to Kamui's ear, the cold making his warm breath visible, heating its recipient.
"Ah-Ah, anything is fine…just a regular Hot Chocolate?" Kamui tells him gently. Subaru nods and recites the order to the vendor.
Kamui whispers a gentle thank you, head falling to Subaru's shoulder, nuzzling him there. The gesture is so sudden and sweet, that Subaru nearly drops a few coins made to pay for their drinks, catching the last second. The older male's cheeks flushed pink, a relatively rare sight compared to how often he made Kamui react this way. It's like Kamui was determined to make him melt tonight!
Subaru wasn't sure if it was Kamui's adorable antics or Hokuto's influence teasing the couple constantly, but he felt the urge to respond at times like these. Responding by taking his lover off to a more secluded part of the park and stealing his lips into dozens and dozens of kisses. Holding his lover extra tight for being so sweet and making him feel more than he ever expected in life. Pain was a constant feeling he expected but with Kamui, he could finally realize the serene feeling of happiness. To love openly and honestly, and heal from the past.
But…they still had a whole walk-through to go through and he wanted them both to enjoy every moment, celebrating together. Their drinks arrived swiftly. Subaru handed Kamui his cup, and took his own in one hand, while his arm slinked snuggly around Kamui's waist. The younger male made a surprised kind of squeak sound but quickly calmed, and leaned into the addictive warmth. Kamui placed one hand over where his boyfriend's hand rested at his side.
They gradually walked on waiting for crowds to pass by, and families with younger energetic kids to head out first, where they could linger back, and take their time.
It wasn't every night they got time to be together like this, let alone a night as romantic as Christmas Eve. Countless other couples were bundled up, holding hands, and walking through the exhibit. They would be no exception, falling into a blissful mood. If anything even more enchanted and happy than the couples around them.
Traveling through a tunnel, beneath the crystal light arch they entered the exhibit. The perfectly rounded tunnelway was covered all over. Lights sparkled and brightened the walkway below. A string of gleaming lights covered all directions, from the walls and ceiling. The upper area is shining with gleaming ice crystals dangling.
Subaru kept his arm snug, holding Kamui protectively close to his side. His eyes steeled every time he'd see some admirer getting a little too close for comfort. The hand at Kamui's side was firm and permanent and Subaru made certain to make that known to any other of his beloved's fans.
Of course, it was a two-way street, the Sumeragi heir had no shortage of adoring looks cast his way. He never noticed them though, and Kamui remained ever so close, occasionally nuzzling his head against his boyfriend's arm.
"It's beautiful," Kamui motioned toward the garden below. Even all around the flowers were gleaming lights showcasing more of their natural beauty for all to see even when so dark.
Subaru glanced languidly and lovingly over his boyfriend. He studied every crinkle of his nose, curl to his lips, and the gorgeous reflection of light sparkling in those two orbs of violet. It was a sight he could spend a lifetime never getting used to nor wanting to.
"Yes," Subaru murmured in agreement, enjoying their surroundings alongside the one snuggled up to his side. Leisurely, they walked through to see a display of blinking lights, holiday characters like reindeer and snowmen displayed in their little private place off to the side.
Kamui's fingers curled over Subaru's arm, tightening their hold. His cheeks were a mix of flushed from the cold outside and the inner heat every time they would touch. He tugged his boyfriend along, grip firm on his arm.
"Ah, Kamui," Subaru reacted mildly, surprised, feeling his beloved tugging him off to the side. There was a series of beautiful flowers made entirely of lights, roses, lilies, and violets surrounding a beautiful dark green wreath. The display is enchanting to see but does not seem as noticeable as to focus on the more grandiose decorations and light shows ahead. "You're quite excited to see this."
"I don't see this color often…" Kamui flushes for a moment, turning his head away. His eyes reflected countless sparkling lights. He points towards the wreath, all the tiny emerald green lights bunched together to form the shape. Violet eyes stole a glance to the side. Kamui took notice of his beloved's features and nodded to himself. "It reminds me of you…"
The comment took Subaru far more time to process than he expected. When it did it left him speechless, emotion striking him like lightning. His chest tightens and his breath becomes stolen as he slowly takes in the meaning.
"It's that color," Kamui gives it away, solidifying this was reality. Subaru had someone this amazing in his life. The younger male his lip before leaning on his tiptoes and caressing Subaru's face. His fingers slipped under a matching pair of emerald orbs.
This time Subaru blushed an embarrassing shade of pink. One he swore he'd never done since he was in high school…and yet here…so easily, such a beautiful person made him lose composure. His heart pulsed as something tugged hard on it never to let go.
All that excitement, the admiration Kamui expressed towards the display. All of it because…the wreath's color reminded him of Subaru, his enchanting eyes. Truly, Kamui would be the end of him. His heart melted never to be the same. All in the best way.
Upon arriving home, they found a big tree-shaped box with a big red bow, the gift on their living room table.
"To: The Lovebirds" is written on the tag beneath the bow and ribbons. followed by a 'Love, Hokuto"
Subaru shakes his head. They were all going to exchange Christmas gifts tomorrow. Christmas Eve being the day, Hokuto had insisted they had a romantic date, just him and Kamui for the whole evening…
Subaru swallowed hard, realizing this was the first time in a while they had time like this. And Hokuto's gift, he had a feeling was a bit different than to be expected as what they would exchange as gifts, as a family. (Kamui being deemed her future brother-in-law which no one could argue against.)
"I made a Christmas cake for us," Kamui bit his lip, before pressing them both together. His eyes glossed over and quivered. He made a move to just go, get this over with, and turn towards the kitchen. "I hope you'll like it" Before he could go-
"Kamui," Subaru coos softly, wrapping an arm around his love's waist, caressing a flushed cheek. His fingers trailed down to tilt up Kamui's chin. Beautiful violet orbs shimmered before fluttering closed. Subaru leaned down, to close the distance melding their lips together, longingly, simply feeling the press of lips on lips.
Subaru hummed into the kiss. His lips curl blissfully taking in a sweet taste of plush lips. Gingerly, so very gradually the kiss deepens, starting with him licking Kamui's lips and the seam between them.
Kamui allows him access, happily and instantly, expressing his own devotion and love as much as he could…but being kissed so deep like this, made him go light-headed, knees buckling to the point Subaru had to hold him up and support him.
"Sorry," Subaru kisses an apology on the younger man's forehead. "Too much?"
Kamui shakes his head, smiling. He leans up onto his tiptoes pecking Subaru's lips. "It was really nice…just…" He mumbles, flushing a deep pink. "I-intense…" Before his boyfriend could catch another glimpse of his embarrassment Kamui excused himself. "I'm gonna get our cake now and then maybe after…." He doesn't look Subaru in the eyes. They both understood enough.
Subaru sighs contently, watching his beautiful boyfriend's retreating form disappear into their kitchen. While he took residence at the dorms, Kamui lived here more often than not. It was natural every time he was here. He took a look opening the box his twin left on the table. Immediately his face burst into flames as he closed it quickly.
Lubricants, condoms, toys, even a little costume…assumed for Kamui. "Hokuto…" Subaru sighs, holding a hand to his head. He and Kamui were still new to a lot of those things. He wanted his love to be as comfortable as possible and took the present pushing it off the side of the table and resting it on an adjacent chair. Keeping it at least from immediate attention.
It wasn't long, until an ethereal-sounding voice called, "Merry Christmas," before coming out of the kitchen with a petite cake, plates, and utensils. Kamui beautifully flushed, looking down to inspect the top of the cake ensuring the writing, frosting piping and strawberries were perfectly in place.
Shyly, in a manner Kamui only expressed to his boyfriend, he presented the cake box as a kind of offering. "I hope you like it," He placed the little plates on the table, napkins, utensils. No sooner than when he placed everything down did Subaru grasp Kamui's hand pulling him down to the couch, to sit right beside him. He held the cake on his lap carefully and cradled the back of Kamui's head. His lips found Kamuis once again not partying until he felt he fully expressed his gratitude for this gift.
However simple it may seem to others, Subaru knew the many hours Kamui spent in his kitchen, while he was away and even next door with Hokuto on countless baking attempts, trying again and again until he was completely satisfied with the results.
The cake could honestly be burned to bits, frosting barely covering the surface and Subaru would cherish every single bite. He didn't need to open the box to love the gift, it didn't need to be anything close to what Kamui would deem as perfect. But he knew his Kamui, knew he wouldn't be happy until his gift was perfected, to be savored and loved by the one who stole his heart so completely.
"It's beautiful," Subaru gazed over the frosted white cake, strawberries fresh and aligned all around the top. Within the center a little sign, "Merry Christmas Subaru, I love you."
"It's not too much…?" Kamui blushed further, unsure if his cheeks would ever regain their color. So long as Subaru kept being so kind, so sweet…and gentle with him, it didn't seem likely to be anytime soon. "I-I know It's kind of… sappy ... .but…" he speaks in a quieter voice. "It's how I feel so…"
Subaru cups his cheeks, smiling and pressing their foreheads together. They are close to feel each other's breaths, noses brushing. "I love this. It's perfect," he assures in the kindest and most loving tone. The tone his twin referred to as the "Kamui tone".
"I love you, Kamui," Subaru sealed their lips together, sweet, soft and gentle. There was no rush, just a moment or several more to feel each other's warmth.
Gradually, they paused to try Kamui's gift but remained sitting flushed to each other's side. The younger male felt a bit nervous biting his lip as he leaned forward to slice the first piece of cake for his boyfriend to try.
Kamui grasped a fork, slicing off a bite-sized piece. He intended to hand the utensil to Subaru, but felt a hand on his wrist, guiding it forward.
"Subaru…" Kamui laughed, cheeks bright pink as they had been most of the evening. He took the hint and fed his boyfriend the first piece of cake, bringing it to Subaru's lips. His lover took in every bite, holding Kamui's hand and kissing his fingers, making the recipient of such affection burn up.
Subaru closed his eyes as he indulged in the sweet desert, wanting to memorize every detail, all the work his precious person put in. Emerald orbs soon lit up, sparkling, as Subaru indulged in the perfect texture, the perfect amount of sweetness, all so handmade, soft, and sweet ... perfectly Kamui.
"I love it," Subaru exclaimed, happy to have this privacy as he pulled Kamui into another kiss again and again. He let his beloved taste the sweet dessert from his lips.
They both fell into the mood, kissing, cuddling, and feeding each other pieces of the strawberry cake. Love was evident in their eyes and they couldn't keep their lips from curling to what felt like a permanent smile.
It was after a few moments? Hours? A realization came to Subaru.
"I have a gift for you as well," Subaru explained, reluctantly getting up from the warmth beside him. He was quick to return, grasping a small box from the side table and presenting it to Kamui.
"This is…" Kamui asked innocently, unsure what to expect from the small box.
"It's just one gift of many more," Subaru murmurs, kissing the side of Kamui's head.
"Th-Thank you…you didn't have to get so much for me…"
Subaru presses a finger to his lips, assuring. "I wanted to."
Kamui thanked him with a sweet kiss after opening the small box. His eyes rose, examining the shiny golden object."A key…"
Subaru nods, elaborating to those surprised widened eyes. "I know I've had you hold on to the spare for a while but…I wanted one made especially for you."
"Subaru?" Kamui looked up innocently, he had some idea of where this was going…but couldn't be so sure. He couldn't let his heart get carried away.
"My Kamui, you're here more often than at the dorms …" Subaru started, then quickly placed a finger over his boyfriend's frowning lips, realizing how it sounded. He corrected, "And I love that. I'm blessed to have you over here as much as you are, but it's still not enough."
"So you're….saying…" Kamui's doe eyes widen even further brimming with emotion.
"Kamui, I love you very much, I don't want you to just "visit" here…it feels like home when you're there…and on those days you're not…it's…empty…" He takes a breath, hands shaking a little, as he grasps the key placing it in his beloved's hand. "Only if you want to, but Kamui I would love for you to live with me here…preferably forever…."
Kamui couldn't help the stream of emotions rushing down. He never felt such a blissful rush, such warmth and belonging. "Yes, of course I want to!" He blurts louder than planning to but is rewarded by the sound of his beloved's soft chuckling.
Subaru takes Kamui's hand holding the key, closing his fingers around it. "I'm glad…" He presses his lip to every knuckle on the soft closed hand.
Their lips sealed again to a gentle languid kiss, indulging in the moment. Kamui lifted into Subaru's lap arms around the slender waist. Kamui's arms wrapped around his boyfriend's shoulders as their lips brushed combining with a medley of deep passionate kisses and soft tender presses of their lips.
"Thank you," Kamui expresses, finding it hard to hold back. His body overflowed with such emotion, happiness… 'Preferably forever'- he couldn't get the words out of his head. Beyond blissful, he was happy to be with Subaru as long as possible…but to hear aloud, that they were both seeking the same thing, something more than he ever imagined finding in his lifetime, let alone so soon.
This feeling of home was better than any gift he could imagine. They fall into the soft embrace for the evening, snuggled up together, indulging in the Christmas cake and watching holiday movies in the background.
Forever…. Kamui thought again, that it had a very nice ring to it.
