"Is that why Santana's on the warpath?" Kurt asked wincing as Santana Lopez lit Jacob Ben Israel on fire, when he tried to approach her with a camera and microphone.

Rachel winced, she almost felt sorry for JBI—almost. He had asked her for her underwear last week, so really he was just getting what was coming to him. "Yeah. I mean Santana and her parents left soon after. I think they were embarrassed."

"But he really can make you stronger?" Mercedes said, deciding to focus on what the most important in the story that Rachel had told.

"I mean, he said he could work with me. But the way both Quinn and her mother were acting, I think it's going to be really difficult and possibly painful. But going to Summit is my dream, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get there." Rachel said firmly, freezing when she caught Santana glaring at her. She swallows, it wasn't her fault that Lawrence had dismissed her. She didn't know what went through his mind, and it wasn't as if she was going to stick out her neck for Santana, who had been nothing but antagonistic to his grandchildren.

"You think—" Santana began only to stop when she spotted Charlie and Quinn exiting a classroom. Charlie had a bag of chips in her hand and was munching on the snack happily. The blue-haired weirdo irritated her more than Rachel did. Instead of going after Rachel, she marches up to Charlie and Quinn. "I don't give a fuck who your grandfather thinks he is. I don't care how important you think your family is, he's wrong about me and I will get into Summit," she snaps, slapping the bag of chips out Charlie's hand before storming away.

Charlie licked her fingers, as she looked at the empty bag. There had just been crumbs left and looks up at Quinn. "What was that about?"

"Gramps refused to train her," Quinn reminded Charlie who bent down to pick up the bag so she could discard it properly. "I think she's still upset about that."

Charlie blinked and looked at her empty bag of chips before tossing it into a nearby garbage can. "I wasn't there. So why is she taking it out on me?"

"Don't think about it too hard Charlie, we've got to get ready for this stupid test," Quinn sighed and pulled out a chocolate bar from her bag and handed it to her twin who grinned at her. Thoughts of Santana completely gone from her head. Quinn shakes her head and spots Rachel, she's about to smile at her when she spots the two leeches standing beside her.

"I thought you said you'd talk to Quinn for us?" Kurt whispered to Rachel, before she moved to where the twins were.

Rachel hesitated, she had talked with Quinn about the two of them, but Quinn didn't seem interested in being anything more than polite. "You might have better luck with Charlie, Kurt. Charlie's open to anyone who gives her food. Quinn's super particular about the people she wants to hang out with. From what I understand a lot of people have only wanted to be their friends because of what they could do. I'm sorry Kurt, but I'm going to go and talk to them. They might be nervous before their test. It's probably nothing like what they're used to." With that she immediately breaks away from Kurt and Mercedes and moves to slip in between the Fabray twins. "Charlie. Quinn."

"Rachel, want some chocolate?" Charlie asks holding her half eaten chocolate bar out for Rachel.

Rachel smiles, and shakes her head. She had learned quickly that touching Charlie's food was a recipe for disaster. "You're going to need all the energy for your examination. And besides you share food with your girlfriend and you broke up with me remember?" Rachel said in a teasing tone.

Charlie nodded absentmindedly and went back to eating her chocolate bar. "So how do they do the examinations in Ohio? Do I get to punch someone in the face?"

Rachel flicked her gaze toward Charlie in shock and looked at Quinn for a bit of help but Quinn seemed mildly interested in what she had to say. "They do a physical first, you know check your weight, height—you have to run around the track twice. Then it's a demonstration of your abilities. It's really simple, they determine your level."

Quinn blinked, "That's it?"

"So I don't get to punch someone in the face?" Charlie asked, sighing. "That's boring. At our old school they got us to run a hero course, it showed the different uses of our abilities and our mastery of it. During my last examination we got to destroy robots! Well I didn't. They made me face wooden golems. I mean it's still the same thing in my opinion. And then we had actual heroes come in and test us individually. Then they tested our raw power output. I mean as best as they could, both Quinn and I can't be tested by conventional means or we cause a lot of damage."

Quinn nodded, "It's a more complete reading of your abilities. Gramps isn't going to be pleased."

"It sounds expensive, and Figgins doesn't really do expensive. We don't have the budget of an LA school."

"Told you someone was embezzling money," Charlie said as she pushed the rest of the chocolate bar into her mouth. "Explains why people seem to be incorrectly leveled. Also explains the questionable food in the cafeteria. And the fact that Figgins wanted to charge mom for destroying the cafeteria."

Quinn turned to her twin, "You noticed?"

"I notice things," Charlie said defensively.

"You notice pretty girls and food. Mostly food," Quinn reminded Charlie who opened her bag and pulled out a granola bar. "See, what I mean?"

Rachel lets out a small laugh and watches as Charlie munches on the granola bar, "I don't think Figgins will care one way or another if your grandfather comes in to tell him he's running the school incorrectly. Both my dads have had multiple meetings with him, and have brought up their concerns to the PTA. Nothing has been done."

Quinn shrugged her shoulders, if the test really was that bad then she knew her grandfather would kick up a fuss, and use all the connections that he had to get the program changed. Her grandfather was already crafting lesson plans for Rachel. "Well, at least it seems easy enough."

"I really wanted to destroy some robots though," Charlie muttered.

"Well, everyone is interested in watching—" Rachel stopped talking when Charlie suddenly stopped and sniffed the air.

"Do you smell that?" Charlie asks a huge grin breaking out on her face.

"Smell what?" Quinn asked, looking at her twin. "Charlie you know I don't have your weird sense of smell."

Charlie looked scandalized, and took another deep breath. "Smells like, a triple triple burger, with a strawberry shake and fries—smells like In-N-Out. Did they finally expand?" Charlie asks her eyes wide, as she takes off following the smell.

Rachel stared at Charlie for a moment as they watched her stop and sniff the air a few times, "Is she okay?"

"She might be having a stroke, In-N-Out definitely hasn't expanded off the West Coast," Quinn said with a sigh pinching the bridge of her nose. "Or Charlie would have spent all of her money there by now. It's weird that it's one of her favorite burger joints, they don't serve any bacon. The heathens."

Rachel snorted, "Can I just say that your family has a weird thing about bacon."

"Says the vegan who doesn't understand the beauty of a perfectly fried piece of bacon. The crunch, the saltiness—it's savory—it basically is a treat for your tastebuds Rachel. The texture is also important. Charlie will eat bacon even if it's a bit chewy, but I prefer mine to have a crunch to it," Quinn explained as they followed Charlie who disappeared around a corner. She smiles at Rachel's look of disgust before looking up, her smile fading when she spotted a big man who was holding a greasy bag of food and a tray that had two milkshakes in it. Charlie had stopped a few feet away, and was just staring at him. She couldn't blame her, their father had gained weight since the last time she'd seen him. "Dad, what are you doing here?"

"Quinnie," Russell said with a huge smile on his features. He turns his attention back to his youngest daughter and waves the bag at her. "I brought your favorite. A—"

"Triple-Triple?"

"Well I thought you might be hungry, your mother mentioned that the food at the cafeteria is really bad. So I got you a quad quad, and two milkshakes and a side of fries." Russell grins when Charlie mulls it over and decides that his offering is good enough.

"Why are you here?" Quinn stated firmly. "And since when do you talk to mom? What happened to the stripper with tattoos? Charlie, don't you dare touch that food." Quinn snapped, causing Charlie to stop approaching their father to snatch the bag away.

Rachel winced at the ice in Quinn's voice and wondered if she should leave the awkward family reunion. She winces when Quinn's father looks at her curiously before turning his attention back to Quinn.

"You know I work for the government Quinn, and you know they have a vested interest in seeing how the two of you are progressing."

"There are literally hundreds of other people in your position." Quinn stopped when Rachel gently touched her arm and inhaled sharply, noting the condensed air. "Does mom know you're here?"

"Yes. When your grandfather called me and told me that there might be something wrong with your testing, I had Frannie open up a portal this morning after picking up a snack for Charlie. Your mother is fine with me being here."

"Bull—"

"Quinn," Russell's voice was firm as he studied his daughter. "I get that my actions hurt you, but you're my daughter and that doesn't give you the right to speak to me as you wish. Your mother and I may be getting divorced but that doesn't change the fact that I love you. Both of you."

"You're not—"

Charlie tilted her head back so she could look at her twin, the temperature was dropping rapidly and rising as Quinn's emotions went into overdrive. "Lucy," she said quietly, causing Quinn to look at her. "He's miserable, nothing you say will make him feel worse than how he feels about himself. I mean he's gained like seventy pounds, and he's starting to go gray. He needed mom more than she needed him, and he regrets it. Yelling at him isn't going to change anything."

"I gained thirty-five pounds," Russell muttered.

Charlie reached forward and patted her father's gut. "Sure dad. Sure." Before her father can decide to eat her food she snatches the bag of food away from him and the tray with milkshakes. She immediately approaches Quinn and offers her the strawberry milkshake.

"He didn't even get your order right," Quinn pointed out.

"I know," Charlie said, flicking her eyes at her father who immediately looked away. "But he made an attempt, and it's a bit of home that I miss. So I'm inclined to forgive him, not for cheating on mom. Never for that."

Quinn's lip curled before letting out a loud sigh. "Whatever, I need to get ready for this stupid test, apparently we're going to be watched by the entire school. So you know don't fall flat on your face." Charlie flashes her a smile. "You're in charge of him. Come on Rachel," Quinn said tugging Rachel along.

Russell watches Quinn leave and turns to Charlie who is sipping on a milkshake. "Quinn has a girlfriend finally? That was quick."

Charlie shot her dad a look, "If you're here that means gramps is here."

Russell nodded and reached to muss up Charlie's hair only to feel a powerful shock when he attempted to touch her. He winces and rubs his hand. "Yeah he is. He's been yelling at your principal for about an hour now. He's invited a ton of guests, you know how he gets. Your Aunt Cassandra is here, as well as a few top-tier heroes. I think one of the 4 horsewomen is here—"

"What? Which one?" Charlie demanded dropping her milkshake.

"I don't know, but he's called in quite a few favors. The Dean of Summit is here. The Dean of K2 is also here, we've got quite a few government officials, including the governor of Ohio, who wants to take a photo-op with you and Quinn. A few reporters of course. Your grandmother and mother will be coming soon with your Aunt Cassandra. I mean it's quite remarkable that he managed to pull all this off in a day and a half. I've checked out the facilities, and I think that I'm going to recommend an audit, because I'm unsure where the money is going. The Hero Course is already being rebuilt for you two, because no one and I mean no one wants either of your skills to dull. It should be ready in an hour or so." Russell informed Charlie who immediately shoved the bag of food at her father. "Chuckie?"

"I have to take this seriously dad—and if you call me that in front of the 4 horsewomen, I'll never forgive you." Charlie hissed at him.

Russell blinked, he knew his youngest child had two weaknesses. Food, and pretty women. "May I remind you that you're only four—"

"I'm sixteen," Charlie snaps at her father, she wasn't going to let him ruin this for her. She narrows her eyes at him, to make sure he understands that she really would never forgive him if he embarrassed her. "I'm going to go get ready. Don't talk to anyone. Don't tell any funny stories about us. Just be cool dad. I know it's hard when you're wearing that ugly shirt, but please attempt to be cool."

"What's wrong with the shirt?"

"It makes you look like you've gained 75 pounds, dad. And it's the color of vomit. If you want to impress mom and try and win her back, hit the gym. Do something about the grey and maybe I don't know— get her flowers," Charlie snapped at him. "This isn't hard, get on your knees and beg for her forgiveness. No wonder Quinn's hopeless with women."

"That's not—" Russell blinked when Charlie took off, and sighed and looked at the bag of food and the spilt milkshake before looking down at his shirt. He winces, it wasn't a very flattering color of green. Judy had always helped him look sharp, and without her cooking for him he'd been forced to eat out. And while he hadn't gained 75 pounds, he had definitely packed on the weight. "Fuck."

"Gramps turned this into a spectacle," Quinn grumbled as she watched McKinley's student body going crazy for the various superheroes that were in attendance. "I knew we should have—" Quinn turned to look at her twin who was patting her hair down. "What are you doing?"

"Sasha Banks is here," Charlie hissed at her twin as if that explained everything.

"Right," Quinn rolled her eyes. "You do know that you're sixteen, and Sasha Banks is like—Frannie's age right? Like the chances of it happening are slim to none."

"Shut up, a woman can dream," Charlie snapped at her twin.

"Uh-huh," Quinn snorted before deciding to tease her sister. "Isn't she married?"

"Shut up Lucy! Let me have this! Now how does my hair look?"

Quinn let out a small laugh, relaxing at Charlie's antics. "You look good. But how you look doesn't matter if you don't back it up. You're the one that wants to be a hero, and quite frankly with all the reporters here, the celebrities and the VIPs, this might as well be your debut. Don't fuck this up."

Charlie smiled and held out her fist, getting a quick bump from Quinn. "You too, show them what they're missing." She finally stops focusing on how she looks and takes a look out towards the field. "I wonder what the test is going to be this year. I hope we get to wreck some giant robots. But I don't see any though."

"What's with you and giant robots?" Quinn sighed and patted Charlie on the head. "We got this. We've done this a million times before, and we'll probably do it a million more. No need to be nervous." With that Quinn let out a sigh as Charlie pulled her hoodie up, and they walked out towards the field.

"Please be giant robots. Please be giant robots," Charlie muttered under her breath as the field began to change. Massive shipping containers began to appear, stacking on top of each other, creating a maze like structure. "Okay maybe not giant robots, but like normal-sized robots. I'll even go for tiny ones. I just want robots," Charlie keeps muttering.

"Shut up about the robots already." Quinn hisses at Charlie giving her a firm knock on the top of her head.

Figgins appeared on a floating platform, "The goal of this test is to stop the villains, and rescue the trafficked teenagers."

"How does that test our power levels?" Quinn questioned. If anything civilians meant that they needed to hold back.

"The test is meant to test control of our powers and possibly our judgment," Charlie said as she pulled her shoulders back till she heard an audible crack. "I really wanted robots," Charlie sighed.

"You have ten minutes to complete this task. After that we will take a short break and then you two will be sparring against an actual Hero. Your score in this part of the test will determine who you face in the second half," Figgins explained.

"Right, so I take care of the trafficked teens, you take care of the villains?" Charlie asked.

Quinn nodded, Charlie was letting her flex her powers for a bit. It wouldn't take Charlie long to find the teenagers in this maze and it certainly wouldn't take long for her to rescue them. Which meant that she needed to make this as quick as possible as well, while minimizing property damage. Quinn closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, before exhaling, once the buzzer sounded. "Do you sense them?"

"Yep. Three villains and a group of teenagers huddled up together that way. How do you want me to do this? They're in giant metal containers Quinn, I can definitely just lift the entire thing and move them to a safe zone."

"Without hurting anyone?" Quinn asked.

"I mean it's not like I've tried to do this before," Charlie stated before thinking of a solution. "Got it. They just need seatbelts and a seat—" Charlie concentrated for a second. Imagining the metal moving and creating chairs in the shipping container. She was ruining the structural integrity of the shipping container, but it would at least allow her to reduce any injuries that she might cause from simply lifting the box away and ending it to a safe place. "I'll be the distraction, and once their attention is on me."

"Absolute zero."

Charlie shot Quinn a horrified look. "We're not trying to kill anyone Quinn! This is just a test. Just freeze them in a block of ice or something. Fuck, you should be the villain in this, would probably be far more interesting than whoever they have." Charlie muttered as she began to float. She didn't wait for Quinn as she floated almost lazily over towards where the teens were being held.

Quinn rolled her eyes, before she jumped onto the top of the shipping containers and began to hop after Charlie. She hated flying, and she found she had far more control with these short little jumps. It's not until there's a loud bang and Charlie stops that she realizes that this test is far more complicated than a simple grab. "Are they using live rounds?"

Charlie spun the bullet in the air and nodded. "Yep, they probably would have been better off using rubber bullets. It's harder for me to sense and stop them." Charlie flicked her wrist and suddenly screams could be heard coming from the massive container as Charlie lifts it slowly creating a large magnetic field around it. "I can stop the bullets and I can move the container, you take out the villains please before they decide to cut their losses and try and kill the teens."

"Got it," Quinn said as she continued to move. The sound of gunshots going off, but she just keeps moving, trusting Charlie to handle it. Charlie didn't need her here. She could do this rescue on her own, but it was her time to shine and as she jumps she spots them, the villains and realizes that they're heroes as well. Still she doesn't hesitate to engage, dropping into the middle of them and lashing out, freezing everything in place as she ducks an attempt to hit her with the butt of a gun. She flicks her hand, sending some steam at one of the men and ignores his scream of pain as she kicks his legs out from underneath him and encases him in ice.

When someone reaches for their gun, Quinn focuses enough causing the molecules to begin to vibrate, causing a minor explosion as the gun heats up, before she freezes him in a massive ball of ice. She finishes as Charlie finally returns and she looks at the mess of bodies encased in ice. "See, you didn't have to kill them to save them."

"It would have been far cleaner," Quinn comments as she kicks one of the encased men.

"You'd make a terrible hero," Charlie chides, ignoring the roar of the crowd. The test had been laughably easy, and they had finished it within 4 minutes.

"Good thing I don't want to be a hero," Quinn reminds her twin, nudging her with her elbow. "Sasha is looking at you." Charlie immediately turned around and slipped on the ice, crashing onto the ground. Quinn snorted at Charlie's misfortune and turned to find Rachel in the crowd. She spots Rachel waving at her from where she sat beside her grandmother, and just as she's about to wave back she spots her father talking to her mother, who looked fed up with him, and she scowls deeply, and clenches her fist.
