Kibi was making his way back to the garden now. He assumed that it had been enough time, and certainly Dom and Legoshi must be done with what they had to do now. They were probably both standing at the foot of the stairs looking for him and wondering where he went.
A part of Kibi felt bad for leaving the two alone. He felt like he was ditching his two friends in a situation of problem by leaving them with her. Especially when considering the conversation he just had with two of his acquittances, one of them who just had recently spent a night with that same bunny and was pretty happy about it. That is, until he realized that this bunny had already made the rounds with every single small animal on the school.
It was like his friends said, girls like that could be worse than any carnivore, as they would use you and then throw you away like garbage once they were done. All they cared about was having a good time.
She would probably have made a move on Kibi if he had stayed, either the other two guys were there or not. Thinking like that, Kibi probably did the right thing on leaving the way he did, and even his two friends agreed that he did well before she could make a pass on him.
Still, the anteater felt bad for leaving the guys behind with her.
Oh, come on, Kibi. It is not as if you left them with a bunch of violent criminals! Kibi said to himself as he shook his head.
I mean, Legoshi is a wolf. That bunny might be a total slut, but even she would not go for a carnivore. He thought this to tranquilize himself as he continued walking to the stairs. And Dom would just not fall for her. I mean, he is...
Kibi's thought was, however, lost as soon as he saw the animal who was crouching at the base of the stairs, holding his own tail on his hands as he looked at it.
Legoshi barely noticed when Kibi called his name the first time. He was too busy playing with the fur of his own tail as he reflected on what had happened minutes ago. On the way that Dom screamed at him.
Dom had never screamed before. Legoshi was still in shock due to how Dom screamed at him.
He didn't know peafowls could scream so loud. It hurt his ears a little bit.
More than anything, Legoshi could still remember that look on Dom's eyes.
That look of fear.
As if he was scared of Legoshi.
Dom never looked at him like that before. It was as if he was looking at Legoshi as if he was a stranger.
As if he could no longer trust him.
And he climbed those stairs so fast, as if he was sure Legoshi was going to chase after him.
Does senpai... really thinks I am a bad person now? Legoshi thought, the idea of his senpai now not trusting him and thinking he was bad making him feel awful, filling him with dread.
"Legoshi!" Said a voice right by the wolf's side, making him jump back and back away a little bit. The wolf had been so distracted that he didn't heard when Kibi called him, forcing the anteater to talk louder to get him louder to get him to listen.
Legoshi was looking at the anteater in shock. He didn't know all herbivores could be so loud if they wanted to.
Kibi was quickly apologizing for startling him, while Legoshi himself also apologized to Kibi for not listening him when he called, saying that he was distracted.
"Well, doesn't matter." Kibi said, "You guys done, right?" Legoshi nodded to this, telling that they had come to an agreement with the bunny.
"Great, so we can go... wait, where is Dom-senpai?"
"He... went back up..." Legoshi said to the anteater, who was surprised. "He said he forgot to ask her something and told me to go downstairs and wait for you."
That was not a lie. This was what Dom had said to Legoshi before he rushed back to the garden. However, Legoshi knew as well as Dom himself that this was just an excuse he made to get as far from Legoshi as possible.
Kibi, on his end, seemed quite alarmed at the thought that Dom having gone back up there to meet with the bunny all alone. Something that Legoshi noticed, and he was soon questioning the anteater about it.
"Legoshi!" Kibi said, holding on to Legoshi's tights as he looked up to him. He would he holding Legoshi's shoulders and looking him in the eyes if he had the needed height for that. "That bunny is trouble! Rumor has it that she has slept with almost half of the small herbivores of the school! That she goes after anyone who has a dick! That she does not cares who you are or if you are dating someone or not! She is a man-eater! A tramp! A slut!"
The way Kibi said it was as if he was trying to get a very important point across to the wolf. Legoshi could only look back at the much smaller animal, as he blinked.
"A... slut?"
"And Dom went after her..." Kibi said as he let go of Legoshi's legs. "Could it be that he... that he is wanting to..."
Legoshi looked at Kibi for a few moments, his mind catching on to what the anteater was thinking.
It made him feel... uncomfortable, for some reason.
However, Kibi seemed to calm down.
"No." Kibi said, seemingly talking to himself. "I mean... there is no way. Dom is not one to fall for some slut. He is too smart for that."
Legoshi looked at the anteater, as he continued to talk to himself, nearly as if he had forgotten that the wolf was even there with him.
"I mean, he is triple her size! No way she would try to go with a guy that big!" Kibi said to himself, "Besides, it was not as if Dom would even be interested in her. I mean, the video make it clear he would have no interest in her..."
"Eh?" Legoshi said, "What video?"
"I am just being too worried." Kibi concluded. "I mean, there is just no way anything would happen between them. No way that bunny would manage to get into his pants."
"H-hey!" Dom said, as the bunny fumbled with his belt. She continued to do what she was doing, and she was telling him to "let her work". Dom was pretty much confused with everything that was happening, and he could hardly make himself react properly.
I mean, would you be able to react properly when you were running in fear of a carnivore, and the one place you went into for shelter turned out to have a naked girl who then would come to you and unbuckle your belt without even asking you if she could or not?
"My, my." Haru said, now making her bedroom voice. The one she knew that guys loved. "What a lovely shade of blue your feathers have."
"I-I-I... I..." Dom said, as his mind tried to reboot and process this whole absurd situation. Meanwhile, Haru continued to do her thing, as she pulled Dom's shirt up, and started running her little white hands all over his stomach. The peafowl was much bigger than her, meaning she had to raise her arms above her head so she could run them over those blue feathers.
"Hmmm, and they are so soft.~" Haru said, practically moaning as she continued to do this. "I didn't knew feathers were so soft like this. I love how they feel."
Dom blinked as he flinched. Memories sparking on his mind from the bunny's words.
"Dom-kun. Your feathers are so soft to the touch, and their shade of blue is just so beautiful... I love your feathers. All of them."
"I-I..." Dom said, sweat starting to form over his skin. The memories that were just sparked caused his body to have a reaction. One that Haru noticed.
Good, he is getting on the mood. The bunny thought to herself as she noticed the familiar reaction from the male she was with, which she had already observed in many other males in the past. Now let's get into the good thing.
However, this reaction Dom was having now was purely because of the memories that were just sparked. It had nothing to do with Haru. In fact, Dom felt no desire for her at all.
"I want to see all of your feathers." Haru said sweetly to the peafowl, looking up at him. "Will you let me look?" And she started lowering Dom's pants.
Just like someone else did in the past. However, he had to be on his knees for this, since he and Dom were the same height. However, he looked up to him the same way the bunny did.
"Let me see your feathers, Dom-kun."
"J-Jalen-senpai~"
"I AM GAY!"
The cry was so sudden and loud that, for a moment, Dom asked himself where it came from, before he realized that he was the one who blurted out those words.
He looked in shock at the bunny, who looked at him with just as much shock. She had let go of his pants, and now she was just looking up at him.
After a few moments of unnerving silence between the two, the bunny finally spoke:
"Is... this some kind of roleplaying?"
She continued to look up at him.
"Is this something you like to play during sex? I am supposed to say something back or...?"
Dom looked at her in silence for what it felt like an eternity. Then, he shook his head.
"No..." He said to her. "It is not roleplaying..."
Awkward doesn't even begins to describe how things were between the two of them, before they both finally sat on the bed and just talked.
Dom even showed her the video that had been circulating all over Cherryton. Haru had not seen it yet, mostly because she was not close enough with anyone in the school who would share the video with her. However, once she saw, a lot of things became clear.
"I see..." Haru said, now feeling like an idiot for having misinterpreted Dom's motives. However, in her defense, what else was she supposed to think? Meanwhile, the peafowl only sat by her side in silence, looking at his own feathery hands, together on his lap, as the bunny on her underwear by his side thought of what to say.
"Having something like that of you online... it must be really hard." Haru said, looking at Dom.
"You have no idea." The peafowl said to her. "After this video became public, I didn't have a single friend left in my old school. I ended up having to transfer because of it."
Dom sighed.
"I just... needed a fresh start. I needed to be in a place where no one knew about this video." He said, "A place where it would not haunt me and hang over my head all the time. Where I would not be a target to everyone because of it... and it worked. I could have a peaceful school life here in Cherryton... until yesterday."
Haru just continued to look at him.
"That wound on your shoulder." She said. "You were attacked because of the video?"
Well, that was obvious at this point. Dom knew that the bunny already figured it out.
"Some people are very strong on their opinions." Dom said to her simply, looking up, and only staring at the void. "And, as it turns out, some animals have the opinion that they should not be forced to keep up with... well, someone with my preferences."
"I see..." was all that Haru thought to say after hearing that. After a few more moments of silence, she said:
"You know, animals do that a lot. Judge others."
Dom looked her way as she said that.
"Most people judge me because I tend to sleep around." Haru confessed. "Yesterday I was on the restrooms because I was drying myself. A girl tossed water in me because I slept with her boyfriend."
"Oh?" Dom said, looking at her. Haru sighed.
"Yeah, sleeping with someone else's boyfriend might not have been one of my best decisions. But, it was not my fault that he kept coming at me. I didn't even know he was dating someone until after we had sex." Haru said, "And somehow, I am the homewrecker, and no one is mad at him for having chased after some other girl while he was already dating someone."
"Well, that's not fair." Dom said to her. "If you didn't know he had a girlfriend, and he was the one who came to you, then you should not be the one taking all the blame."
"I am used to it, I guess." Haru said, "I mean, a lot of guys come to me after sex and... well, I just don't deny it to them. If we are having a good time, then it should be no problem. But, because of it, everyone on the school thinks I am a tramp. No one even talks to me, not even my own roommate."
"Oh... that's rough." Dom said, sounding genuinely supportive about that.
"I used to have a lot of friends in my old school." Dom said, looking away. "But, after the video started circulating, they all stopped talking to me."
"Well, they probably weren't real friends to begin with." Haru said. "I mean, a real friendship should be able to go past this kind of thing. If someone really likes you, then they don't stop liking you just because of something like that. They stand by your side until the very end."
Dom looked at her in silence for a few moments.
"Yes..." he said, looking as his hands once more. "Yes, you are probably right..."
Haru looked at the peafowl, and she noticed that he had became sadder upon hearing what she said. She realized that she may have said something wrong, and then she looked back at the video.
"This bull with you..." She said, looking at the paused image of the bull who the peafowl was kissing. "Did he got it though too?"
Dom took a few seconds to answer:
"He... was really popular at our school, and his parents were both influent. They suffocated the whole thing. Said that I used my peafowl charms to seduce him." Dom said, "He basically was seen as the victim, while I became the gay bird who tried to convert others."
"What!?" Haru said, "Are you being serious!? That's ridiculous! And, what? That bull just went along with it!?"
Dom spent a few moments in silence, before sighing.
"He was the school's future beastar." This surprise Haru, who looked at the peafowl. "He was on his third year and he would be nominated as soon as the year ended. He had to protect his reputation... It was important to him..."
Dom looked up, staring at the void.
"More important than me."
There was nothing that Haru could think of saying back to the peafowl. So, she only looked down, and she then said:
"Guess we are not that different, are we?"
Dom blinked, looking at her.
"You are judged by others for having been with a male." She said, saying this as if she was talking about a trivial matter. "I am judged by others for having been with several. If you think like that, you and I are about the same in this regard. Well, I am assuming that I am the one who has had more action during my time in Cherryton, unless you got some boyfriends since transferring."
She looked at him, and Dom shook his head, confessing that, since Jalen, the bull of the video, he had not had any other boyfriend.
"Oh?" She asked, "No one here in Cherryton catching your eye? Well, there are plenty of options, if you take a time to look around. I am sure you could find someone who would be willing to have fun with someone as good looking as you."
She smiled to him as she said that. Dom could only look back at her, slightly shocked by her words.
"What, you are good looking! I mean, not really a surprise considering you are a peafowl. You guys are, like, one of the most beautiful herbivores around." She said to him. "Honestly, I am a little envious of you, I wish I was naturally good looking like you."
Dom was stunned for a few moments, and then he said, looking at her.
"You are..."
It was her turn to look up at the peafowl in surprise. Dom slowly moved his hands to her face, gently cupping it with his feathery hands.
"You are very cute." He said to her, looking at her small face as he held it in his hands. "No wonder guys like you so much."
For a long time, the two animals with dark eyes looked at each other, before they realized how strangely awkward this moment was for the two of them, they both looked away and, for some strange reason, they were both laughing.
They didn't even know why.
Maybe it was just the... absurdity (?) of the situation. All they knew was that, for some reason, they both felt like laughing.
And it has been a while since they both felt like laughing for no reason at all like that. Way too long.
"So, I guess I should be going now, right?" Dom said, getting up, "Legoshi and Kibi are waiting for me so we can all go back to the club together. Could you hand me back my phone, please?"
Haru conceded, but not before she fumbled with it a little bit.
"Here." The bunny said as she handled the peafowl his phone back. "I added my phone number to it." She said, and then she checked her phone. "Send me a message."
"Hm?" Dom looked at her. "Why?"
"So I can have your number as well!" Haru said to him, sounding as if she was pointing something that should be obvious. "I want to have your number so I can trade messages with you."
Dom blinked, looking at her in surprise, and Haru then clarified:
"Don't worry, I'm not going to try and convince you to go to bed with me through text or send you naked pictures. I just want to chat with you." She was looking at him as she said that, "You might be the only boy on the school who won't try to take me to bed, what means you are the only boy with whom I can have a decent conversation. I miss talking to some guy without the idea of us having sex is automatically implied. Hope you don't mind."
Dom looked at her, and he nodded. He passed a message on the new contact that had been added to his list, and soon, a notification alarm was coming from the bunny's phone on the stand, and the bunny seemed satisfied with it.
"So, your name is Haru, isn't it?" Dom said, checking the new contact, in which the bunny added her own name.
"Yes, it is." The bunyn said to him, smiling, "So, what about you tell me yours'? You know, so I can add it to the new contact? It is better than just naming it 'Peafowl', or 'Bird', don't you think?" She was smiling as she said that, and Dom looked back at her.
All of a sudden, he realized that they had never told each other their names.
"It's Dom." The peafowl said, and Haru nodded at him, and told him that she would be sending him a message later.
"I really miss having someone with whom I can just chat." She said to him, and she sounded more sincere than she intended to the peafowl, who could only nod at her, wish her a good day and then go his way.
As Dom left the garden for the second time, he and the bunny would stay on each other's minds for a while...
"Senpai!" Kibi said as Dom finally made his way to the bottom of the stair, and he looked at the anteater and at Legoshi. Dom was glad that Kibi was back, now he felt a little safer around Legoshi...
Kibi, however, was asking him if everything was okay, and if the bunny had tried anything with him.
Well, she did, but Dom was not about to admit this to his friends. He just said that they had a final conversation about the roses and how she was very keen on them treating them nicely once they got them.
"That they deserve to have nice final moments..." Dom said, looking at his two classmates, and he sounded a bit distracted as he said that. His mind was wandering to other things.
To his mother, who was always so passionate about the flowers she grew on her garden, much like that little bunny was. She would smile just like that bunny did to him up there, with that welcoming and motherly smile, as if telling him that it was everything going to be okay...
"She... really loves her flowers." Dom said, more to himself than for his two friends, and they both looked at him.
"Dom-senpai?" Legoshi asked, looking at Dom. The peafowl shook his head, snapping himself out of his thoughts, before looking back at the two of them.
"You know, guys? I think I changed my mind." Dom said to the two of them. "We are not going to use the roses. Let's think of something else."
"Huh?" Kibi said, looking at him in surprise.
"But, we worked on the garden for them." Legoshi said, confused, "Senpai, did something happen?"
"Is just..." Dom said, looking at the wolf. "That bunny really does loves her flowers, and she would be sad if we take and kill them..." He was looking at no one in particular as he said that. He simply continued:
"I don't want to upset her by taking her babies away. Let's scratch the idea of using the roses, I'll think of someone else." He looked at Legoshi and Kibi both, "Sorry for making you two waste your time by coming here."
With this, Dom was soon walking forward, while the wolf and anteater both looked at him with surprised and confused expressions. Well, Legoshi was the one who was confused, while Kibi's expression was more to the kind of worried shock.
Did Dom... really changed his mind about the roses just like that? Just after going to see the bunny again up there?
What... what happened up there?
"Legoshi..." Kibi said to the wolf. "Y-you think that... that maybe Dom senpai... actually...?"
Legoshi looked at him, and he still had a confused expression, with a cocked ear, as he looked at the anteater. It was obvious that Legoshi was oblivious to what the anteater was talking about. He would remain oblivious until he remembered what Kibi mentioned about the bunny being a slut.
Then his mind would make the connection.
And it didn't like it, for some reason. The thought of that bunny and Dom...
"Guys!" Dom said, making the two snap of their reflections and turn to look at him as he waved a feathery blue arm at them. "Come, we have to go back to the club and think of something else for the play! Also, I need to go to Louis' office, I have a meeting with him!"
"C-coming, senpai!" Kibi said, as he held Legoshi by the hand and made the wolf come with him so they could both catch up with Dom, who was already waiting for the two of them so all three could walk back to Drama Club together.
The travel back was just as silent and awkward as their walk to the garden had been...
So, yeah, here is a new chapter after a long hiatus on this story. Sorry for not being more consistent with posting chapters on my story, is just that I have a lot of them. My therapist says that I have a very active imagination, and I'm always creating hew stories.
I create so many that I just can't work on all of them. I am trying to focus on two chapters of different stories/two one shot stories at a time and write them more consistently so I can post them. In moments like that, I wish I was more responsible when managing my time.
Anyway, this chapter is done, and yes, I plan to explore a Dom & Haru friendship on the side of the Dom/Legoshi romance main plot. Hope you guys can enjoy it.
