On her way to the next destination, Kaleigh made sure to ask for directions to Coumarine City. She discovered that heading back to Lumiose City would be more beneficial as she needed an outfit for the Pokemon Showcase. She returned to the route from before and started to follow it.

She thought about what she wanted to do with her pokemon for the freestyle performance. Wondering if they practiced enough that the attacks she didn't know could still be useful for the act. She knew Eevee had at least one move as she had seen it, she thought how using it to send stars around the room would amaze the crowd.

Lost in her own little world Kaleigh didn't notice that she had already entered the cave from before. Blinking she looked up as she noticed the lack of light and glanced around. In the cave she saw some pokemon, little blue ones hanging upside down from the ceiling and purple pokemon with long ears that had yellow on the ends who ran away from Kaleigh. She kept on walking as she remembered it not being a long cave and was out before she knew it.

Kaleigh made it to Camphrier as the sun was setting and fingered she should rest for the night. She went to the pokemon center as she found some would allow her to rest there. Walking in Nurse Joy greeted her with a bright smile.

"Hello, um, can I stay here tonight?" Kaleigh asked to which Nruse Joy nodded her head and gave her a room.

"How are your pokemon?" Nurse Joy asked while leading Kaleigh to a room. "Their's good, I didn't have any battle on the way here."

Nurse Joy nodded her head as she opened the door to a room and turned on the light before she let Kaleigh go inside. "Have a good night." Nurse Joy said before leaving. Kaleigh looked around the small room and laid down on the bed. She glanced over to the window as the sun had set. "I wonder what the theme will be at the next Showcase?" She thought as she yawned. Her eyes started to slowly close as she thought of what she was wanted to do for the show before drifting off to sleep.

"You!"

Kaleigh opened her eyes, only for her body to immediately shake uncontrollably at the voice. She looked to the left and saw her mother coming towards her. She backed away, raising one hand in front of her.

"Sss-stay away!" Kaleigh yelled before turning away. Once she had turned she saw a body in her way, tilting her head up to look at the person. She took a breath in. Her mother stood mere millimetres away from Kaleigh. Her mother reached a hand up and gripped a fist full of Kaleigh's long blonde hair.

"Ahh!" Kaleigh groaned, her eyes closed due to the pain of her hair being pulled. "You little fucking brat! You thought you could get away?! You fucking owe me!" Kaleigh opened her mouth to defend herself but her voice failed her so she tried to shake her head but couldn't do that either.

"Perhaps I was too lenient on you." Kaleigh's mother questioned out loud. The woman was tall, pale skin with long blonde hair with green eyes that matched Kaleigh's. Kaleigh reached her hands up and tried to force the hand on her head to let go, but this only angered the woman further. Effortlessly, she threw Kaleigh to the ground and inspected her hand.

"You little piece of shit! You ruined my life when I gave birth to you! The only reason you are still alive is because of how useful you have been to get me easy money! Your only purpose in this life is to serve me!" Kaleigh tried to catch herself from hitting the ground. She caught a glimpse of her mother approaching her again and covered her head with her hands. She let out a gasp of air as a foot connected to her side causing her to curl up.

"Nn-no more…" Kaleigh quietly mumbled her eyes burning from the tears. She waited for the next attack from her mother but was surprised that nothing further happened. She slowly opened her eyes and hesitated when she turned her head to the left. Her mother was gone.

"Wha-" Kaleigh breathed out as she pushed herself up from the tile floor. She held her side as she walked around the dark space until she came to metal bars. Turning her head to look back at where she came she saw a wall had appeared.

"Glad to see you again, 452." A tall man with chin-length, blonde hair stood on the other side of the cell. He looked down at Kaleigh as she turned back and looked up at him. "That's not my name…" Kaleigh answered after staring at the man for a moment, though it was as if he didn't hear her. "Why am I back here? How-no" She then questioned finding it hard to think straight.

"It's time for your next session. Let's go." The man stated firmly as the cell door opened. Kaleigh quickly took a few steps back from him shaking her head. "No!" She yelled again but the man walked towards her. She continued to shout and backed away until her back was pressed to a wall. Once the man was close enough he started to reach a hand out to her. Watching the hand come towards her, Kaleigh's scars started to burn in pain. It felt like they had been freshly done like the stitches had just been put in.

"Leave me alone!" Kaleigh shouted, her arms pulled close to her chest as she ran around the man out of the cell.

"I-I gotta get ow-out of here." She moaned in pain as she ran down the corridors, glancing behind her so often to see if the man was chasing her. While she ran her left leg buckled underneath her. Hitting the ground with a vocal "oof." Kaleigh's hands balled up into tight fists as her legs started to hurt a throbbing pain occurred in them. She took a few deep breaths before pushing herself up off the ground and continued to run. Only for her to run into the man when she ran around a corner. If the man hadn't grabbed her upper arm Kaleigh would have fallen to the ground. He was quick as he started to drag her along down more halls.

"Noo! No more! Please!" She cried while she was pulled into a room. Despite her wanting to fight back her, body laid down on top of the table where the man proceeded to strap down her arms, legs and head.

"You shouldn't of ran, 452. We spent a lot of time and money on you. I thought you wanted to prove to your mother that you were worth something…" Kaleigh's body started to tremble against the restraints. "I also heard you discovered something too. Able to heal yourself?" The man chuckled to himself. "You have become our top priority."

"H-How-" Kaleigh stuttered out but wasn't able to finish her question as the man turned to her. "You can't hide from us forever. We are bound to find you and you will be our most treasured experiment."

"Let's get started." The man stated as he pulled on some rubber gloves and picked up a scalpel. Kaleigh's eyes widened as sweat rolled off her head. Her breathing became short and shallow as her eyes followed the scalpel down to her right arm. As the scalpel started to slice open her skin she let out a long scream while her body jerked to get away.

Kaleigh shot up gasping for air, her body covered in sweat as she hunched over coughing and taking quick shallowed breaths. Her eyes slowly scanned over the dark room for proof that she was safe but saw a dark figure in the corner of her room. Her eyes widened as she took a sharp breath in and turned around. She moved her right hand and flipped on the lights. Slowly Kaleigh turned her head to find no one but Riolu in her room.

Riolu had popped out of his pokeball when Kaleigh first woke up, sensing her distress he had came out ready to fight, but saw no one in the bedroom. He had turned towards Kaleigh as he saw her struggling to breathe before she suddenly turned on the lights blinding them both.

Kaleigh slowly sat back on the bed her head tilted back against the wall. "It was only a dream. It was only a dream. They won't get me, they don't know about it." Kaleigh's thought repeated these as one hand rested against her chest while the other tightly gripped the bed sheet. Her eyes were closed tight as she felt lightheaded but was still struggling to catch her breath. Her chest and throat felt tight as she took a breath in. Riolu climbed onto the bed and sat in front of her noticing that she was shaking quite a bit.

"Lu…" His voice was low and sad. Kaleigh opened one eye to see her pokemon staring at her with concern. She wanted to tell him that she was okay but was still gasping for air. Riolu reached a paw out and touched her leg only for her to flinch away. He looked up at her quickly as she slowly shook her head.

"So-Sorry…" Was all Kaleigh was able to muster out. Riolu sat there and waited until she had calmed down. She was able to slowly calm down after a few minutes, letting out a deep long breath before she opened her eyes again and looked at Riolu.

"Just a bad dream, sorry buddy…" Kaleigh muttered and slowly pulled out his pokeball. "I'm okay now, you get some rest." She explained but Riolu smacked the pokeball out of her hand and shook his head. The pokeball landed on the ground with a thud. Kaleigh looked at the pokeball before turning her head back to Riolu.

"Ri ri riolu! Lu ri riolu!" Riolu barked at Kaleigh who stared at him a bit shocked until she felt a wave of fear wash over her. "Riolu… I'm sorry…" Kaleigh apologized, her eyes darted down to the bed. Riolu moved closer and wrapped his paws around her, to which Kaleigh returned the gesture.

"You wanna stay with me?" Kaleigh asked slowly pulling away. Riolu nodded his head and Kaleigh laid him down on the bed. She reached up to the light switch but froze as she turned her head to look around the room. "He wasn't here…" Kaleigh thought before turning off the lights. She looked around the dark room before she laid down beside Riolu, letting out a breath before closing her eyes. She laid there for quite some time before sleep finally took over.
