A/N: Anamchara means soulmate in Irish
Amythest was sailing on a ship to the Undying Lands reflecting on all that happened over her life, and she had a lot of regrets. The most pressing was leaving that blasted ring to her nephew. She wished she could have taken care of it herself, but her body had been so worn out from resisting the fading all those years after watching her beloved husband die at the hands of the Orc filth and giving birth to her stillborn Faunt. Life on the road did not provide what was needed to safely bring a child into the world. Amy found comfort that her child was with his father and Kin in Mahal's Halls.
Amy wanted to honor both of her child's heritages, so she named him Krili after his father, and Bandobras after her great-great-grand-uncle on her mother's side of the family. He was the Hobbit who killed the Goblin King in the Battle of Green Fields and saved the Shire from further invasion. He was the hobbit who started their military force, the Boarders, with the blessing of the King. Not that she told the Dwarrow of her heart during or after their journey. She could not tell them without the blessing of the Thain, meaning that she had to keep her survival skills a secret.
Anyway, Amythest held off the fading call until Frodo was of age, and could live on his own without anyone contesting his right to live in Bag End and take over responsibly of the Baggins family. After Frodo's journey, she had been afraid that the wounds left behind by the Ring would stop him from living his life, but thankfully, he found his anamchara in a lovely lass who pulled him through.
Before the Ship made it to the shores of the Undying Lands, Amy felt herself fading, the others upon the ship watched sadly as she took her final breath with a smile upon her face.
"May she be reunited with Master Kili at long last," Gandalf said laying a green blanket of grass over her body. "May she find peace with her husband and child," Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel whispered laying flowers upon the blanket of grass. Hobbits weren't laid to rest within stone, land, or water. They were set ablaze upon a pier of their favorite wood, with tokens from well-wishers guiding them to the Far Green Country of Lady Yavanna leaving behind their ashes to give life back to the land. Hobbits did not mourn their dead but celebrated the life they lived with a feast and party.
Amy arrived in the Halls of Waiting, and stood in front of her were the beings she admired and respected above all else. Lady Yavanna and the Stone Father. The creators of the Hobbits and Dwarrow.
"My Lord, My Lady," she greeted with a curtsy.
"Rise my child," Yavanna told her favorite child. "We know you have a lot of regrets," Lord Mahal said cupping her face in his hand. He was proud of the child his One had grown for one of his favored children.
"My child?" she inquired. "He is most welcome in my Halls, and he is freely allowed to visit the gardens of my Lady wife as he is part Hobbit," he said putting her fears to rest. "My little Dwobbit," she beamed proudly. "Cute. It's fitting," Yavanna said kneeling before her child.
"Do you wish for a second chance?" Mahal asked. "Yes,' Amy answered with no hesitation. "So be it. You will have to be honest with your heart family from the start. A few of the Company will regain the same memories so you will not be alone," Yavanna promised. "I cannot say anything about my skills without the blessing of the Thain. That is the law put in place when the Boarders were established," she said. She would not break such an oath. Lord Mahal smiled as his Lady wife shook her head. "I will visit the Thain in his sleep so you are welcome to share all of who you are, my child," Yavanna promised her favored child.
"Wait!" Amy said before they backed away from her. "I need to see my husband and child before you do whatever is it you are about to do," she requested tears forming in her eyes as they smiled and stepped aside. Four beings came into her view making her breath catch in her throat before she leaped from her seat and into the arms of her husband.
"Kili," she cried into his shoulder as he swung her around. "My One," he said gruffly trying to keep his emotions in check. "I have missed you," she said as he set her down letting Thorin and Fili hug her, as they placed Krili in her arms. "How is he bigger?" she asked stroking his face. For the first time, she gazed into his eyes, seeing the perfect shade of Durin blue. "Beautiful," she said kissing his head.
"It is a gift I bestowed for the children that never got a chance at life," Mahal answered watching the mother and child reunite. "My precious child," she said swaying back and forth. Kili didn't think he had seen anything so beautiful as his wife and child.
"Amy, my niece. I am so sorry for my actions before the battle that fateful day," Thorin said hugging his niece. "Uncle, I forgave you a long time ago. I forgave you the moment it happened. I knew you weren't yourself," she said smiling. "And by Yavanna's grace, I am going to teach you that family is more important than gold and riches," she scolded jokingly causing everyone to smile. "Do so," he said smiling and hugging her close.
"Amythest, my child. It is time to go if you want to change things," Yavanna said smiling as her child placed Krili into his father's arms.
"I will see you soon," she promised before stepping into her mother's arms and disappearing into a mist.
"Does she know that we will be returning also," Fili asked as his brother handed him his nephew. "Not you necessarily. She does know that she will not be the only one returning. I did not see the need to ruin the surprise," Mahal said smirking.
"What of Krili," Kili said his grip on his son strengthing a bit at the thought of his son being alone.
"He too will be reborn but not until after the battle. He will not be alone. He has his hobbit family and the Company and your families," Mahal promised as Kili placed the pebble in his arms.
"Thank you," Thorin said as he and the boys disappeared into the mist as Amy did before them. Mahal gazed down at the pebble in his arms, smiling, "Let's get you to your family until you are born again," he said walking into his Halls.
