Corlys POV

If anyone would have told him when he set sail for the British Isles that he would find, completely by accident, the only child of his wife's cousins, who had been banished and disinherited due to rumors spread the the Hightower girl, he would not have believed them. Like many, he honestly did not believe her to still be alive as she lacked any survival skills or world skills. Yet, there she was, holding the hand of a small boy and carrying a babe in a sling across her chest while dressed in a simple, yet fairly revealing dress.

"Lord Corlys? Is that truly you?" the young woman inquired.

"Yes Princess, it is me. I will say that it is good to see you alive."

"My Lord, I have not been a princess since the day I left Westeros nor shall I ever be again."

"Is it because of your children? Your father could surely arrange something for them, where you might still see them on occasion. He misses you dearly and I'm sure he'd return at least the Royal title to you."

"Why would I wish to return to Westeros? There's no one and nothing there for me other than perhaps a sentence to the Faith or Silent Sisters and if I wanted a life of chastity, I'd rather join Abbess Hild in the Convent at Coccham and life a life devoted to the Christian God than to the Andal's Seven. I will not have my children taken from me, especially since my husband has not yet met this one," as she indicated the babe in the sling.

Looking at the girl in surprise, Corlys responded, "You are married?"

With a large, shit eating grin on her face, Nyra responded. "Yes I am and blissfully so to a man Destiny itself guided into my life. No, my father would not approve of him and No, I don't give a shit about that either. He's a wonderful man, an amazing husband, a doting father, a highly skilled lover and a brave warrior. I could not have asked for a better man to call my own and to be claimed by. My father lost any and all claim he ever had on me the day he refused to even let me speak in my own defense."

Completely bewildered by her last statement, Corlys asked, "What happened between you and the King? Why do you not care about his approval? Are you still a whore?"

Glaring at the elder Lord, she replied, "Yes, I am currently working as an Alehouse whore. My husband has been gone for over a year with our Lord who is currently in exile. It provides me with income and protection as has since we were chased from our home in Coccham. Its the exact same Alehouse where I first met my husband six years ago, where I was also working as a whore, since I had no skills when I arrived here. I NEVER whored myself out in Westeros though I had lost my maidenhead before I left. It was not by my own choice however, granted, no one believed me especially since Ser Otto and his bitch of a daughter claimed it was and that I was a whore."

With an astonished look of understanding, Corlys spoke, "You were raped?"

"Yes, gang raped by people loyal to the Hightowers to discredit me so that a Hightower child could sit on the throne uncontested. I even found evidence that it was a plot devised and carried out by Otto and Alicent but Viserys refused to even look at it or listen to me. He chose them over me. I lost everything due to them and now, I owe Westeros nothing."

"You have evidence of the crime against you?!" Corlys asked loudly. "That's high treason to attack a member of the royal family like that. I knew Viserys was a fool but to refuse to see the truth, I have to tell Rhaenys and Daemon."

"I have the proof, if you want it. Its just dead weight to me as, even if I ever did return to Westeros, the damage has already been done. My reputation cannot be salvaged. Here, at least I've never had a reputation to sully. I'm no one important to anyone except my sons and husband. The wife of the bastard son of the now dead Danish war lord Kjartan the cruel."

"You don't wish to keep it? Why not return and present it to your father?"

"My father does not care to know the truth!" she exclaimed, which startled her baby. As she soothed him, she kept going, but softer. "He told me in absolute terms that the truth did not matter. Otto and Alicent were saying that I was seducing the guards and lesser noblemen and was willingly spreading my legs for all of them as so that's what people were going to believe, especially since I had lost my maidenhead. He told me there was no way he could even find a halfway decent man of any standing that would take me for his bride as all of them would fear that I'd be out humping anything with a cock. Everyone would believe every child I bore was a bastard due to my low morals. Truth does not matter, only perception."

"If you wish to give me the evidence you have, I will take it and I will share it with my family, including your Uncle. If we can find a way to bring those who hurt you to justice, I swear by the 14 that we will. Now, tell me about your Warrior."

"I love him with all my heart and soul. We've been wed by the Danish Gods, the Christian God and by 14 of Valyria and have been married just over four years though we've known each other for six years. Before we married, Sihtric had to get permission from his Lord, Lord Uhtred, to marry and he gave it not long before the Princess of Wessex married the Lord of Mercia. We had only a couple witnesses. After our marriage, I left Winchester with him, Lord Uhtred, Lady Giesla, and the other warriors for Lord Uhtred's Wessex estate Coccham where he gifted us a parcel of land on which Sihtric built us a house. Nearly a year later, and after they had already gone out fighting several times, this sweet boy," she motioned to the child playing at her feet, "was born and we named him Sihtric. Then we had over a year where the men weren't called out to fight much. Only a couple months before I last saw my husband, I conceived again, though I wasn't completely sure before they left. Its been over a year since I last saw my Sihtric though Father Beocca has said that he only just saw him about two months ago. Now I'm just hoping that he will return before Roderik turns a year old. I am very grateful that the Gods have allowed me to find and marry such an amazing man as I'd much rather have him and our boys than any number of fancy titles and expensive crap."

Corlys then held his cousin's face in his large palms and looked directly in her eyes, searching for the truth to her words. "Then I am very happy to know you are happy and safe. I will pray that your husband returns before I leave to go back to Westeros as I do wish to meet the man but if not, I will still meet you again before I leave."

Then the two parted company.
