Hi, so here we are again! Once again I am going back to this wonderful fandom that gave me so much over the course of my writing. I know I have took a bit of a long break from this fandom but I recently watched all the first six series of OUAT and the idea's kept popping into my head left, right and centre starting with this one.
I love Outlaw Queen. I love Regina, I don't why everyone got to be with the person they loved but her. I honestly don't know what the point of that ending for her in Season 7 was but then I don't get the point of Season 7 at all to be honest. So this is my stab at giving her something-eg, a happy ending with Robin with no Marian.
On that note-I have a love/hate relationship with the Charmings, Seasons 1, 3, 5 they are fine, Season 2 ish, 4 okay until we get to the last bit, but Season 6...that bit with Snow, Emma and Belle about Gideon is a scene that makes me so angry I have to stop watching. So yeah...if you are looking for a lovey dovey on the ball happy Charming story this isn't going to be it. To be honest at times Emma gets on my nerves when it comes to Regina so...I will try and keep this as neutral as possible but the Charmings especially Snow are not my favourite characters nor will they ever be.
Disclaimer-Nothing is mine I am just playing with the characters.
I predict this is going to be twenty chapters long. And there will be a few chapters set in the Enchanted Forest.
Please Read and Review and let me know what you think and I will try and update as soon as work and life allows me.
Also I am not great with spelling and grammar. Nor is this story going to be cannon or dialogue compliment. Something to have in mind if that's your thing.
And there will be some swearing in this story so keep that in mind.
As of now I am not taking prompts nor I am answers PMs so please do keep that in mind too. Any questions leave it in a review and I will try and answer it in the notes part of each story.
Storybook Love (Every Version Of You)
An AU of Season 3b. In which it is Regina who is pregnant when the curse sees everyone return to Storybrooke and not Snow White. Concerned with what this new child means, grieving and re-grieving her missing one she tries to put one foot in front of the other and get on with it. But the Wicked Witch and that dashingly green eyed outlaw both seem to be getting in her way.
Chapter 1-The Making At The Heart Of The World
Regina wakes up in Storybrooke. Pregnant. This was not the way the story was supposed to go.
Regina wakes up with a start. Her eyes slam open against her face and her hands in front of her are clenching her cream silk pillows, for all the world she would go back to sleep and sleep until she never woke up but there is something playing at the back of her mind, something making her stay awake despite every bone in her body crying out for rest and relaxation and she looks at her red nails for a second and—
Then she shoots up in bed so fast her head spins like she has too many red wines on a Friday night.
Her nails were not red, nail shellac does not exist in the Enchanted Forest. She doesn't know why her nails are red but as she sits up in bed she realises that the bed she is in is not her bed in her own castle, it's not the bed that she was supposed to be in. It's her bedroom in Storybrooke.
She looks out her window at the dining of the clock and she stares. Yes. Storybrooke.
She's back in Storybrooke.
She grapples for her mobile which is still on charge by her bed as if she had gone to sleep not eight hours ago Henry asleep in his room and she looks at the date and she gasps feeling the blood drain from her entire body. She collapses back on her pillows completely stunned into silence which for her, Regina, the Evil Queen, she can count as happening on one hand over the many years.
How long Regina lies there in her big bed she doesn't know. She is trying to think and once her phone starts buzzing with Charming's name she turns it off. She is desperate to try and think and the last thing that she needs is those two turning up and ruining her concentration. Of course, she knows they won't be kept at bay for long, sooner rather than later someone is going to bang on her door until she opens it and knowing Charming she wouldn't put it past him and her insipid step daughter to break in but right now she needs to think.
Her cursing was flawless, she's good at that curse she's done it before, Henry and Emma were safely over the town line of that she was sure off. She knew it and they knew it. Wherever they were they were safe, far away from this with no memory of what had happened of that she was sure of. She was confident in her abilities, she had been trained by Rumplestilskin and she was confident in him at the very least and she knew that from her perspective the curse should have been right in which case—
But her mental train of thought stopped there because something…had…and there was no other word for it…something had kicked her.
She pushed back the covers and then she started out of bed so fast that she nearly fell over.
She staggered backwards to her wardrobe to her full length mirror and she wrenched open the door so fast that she nearly took it off her hinges. Behind her the vase that was holding long dead flowers shattered into pieces as her heartbeat so fast in her chest that her magic didn't have time to catch up. For Regina it had been a long time since her emotions had got the better of her magic but as she stared at herself in the mirror even ripping up her silk pyjama top to see it in the flesh she found that she was shaking as if she was rookie who had just discovered what it was to curse someone for the first time.
Because she was pregnant.
She Regina Mills, the Evil Queen of the Enchanted Forest, was pregnant.
And glaringly obviously pregnant as well, like eight months with two weeks left to go about to pregnant. Pregnant enough to feel the baby kick inside of her pregnant.
WHAT THE FUCK!
She slammed the door shut to her wardrobe and rested against it and she breathed in and she breathed out as the…as the…as the baby inside of her kicked away no doubt alerted to her panic. She had a moment where she was achingly aware that there was a live human being kicking away inside of her and then she put her hand on her stomach to feel it.
She had never been a mother in that sense. Daniel and her had always been careful. Leopold was as much use as her own fingers and quite frankly there were times when her own fingers were far better than any embarrassed fumbling he tried to do thinking he was getting her with child, no matter how much she tried to make the old coot feel like he had accomplished something and then afterwards…well…she had thought she had taken care of that when her mother had tried to come and stick her oar in but now she was thinking about it she wouldn't have put it past her mother to have gone behind her back and undone all the magic she'd put in place. It was her mother after all and Cora had been a slippery bitch when she had her eyes on the prize.
Who would know that better than Regina?
She stared down at the pregnancy belly and then she gingerly made her way over to the bed.
So, she Regina was pregnant, clearly there had been a year passed between now and the curse and she was pregnant, something had clearly happened between now and then that had reversed some of the strongest magic that she had ever possessed and also along the way she had met someone who had KNOCKED HER UP!
Oh God now her thoughts were becoming hysterical.
Regina stared down at her bump and wondered just what in the name of all that was good and magical in this world she was supposed to do. She was aching, grieving, heartbroken for her missing child somewhere out in the world with only Emma (who was in her unkind opinion clueless at the best of times, and right now she could afford to be unkind considering what she had woken up to) to protect him and here she was pregnant with his what? With Henry's what? Half-brother or half-sister? Seriously? What in hell was she supposed to do about that? What was she supposed to do with this information? Was she supposed to start buying cribs or something like that?
She sat there and the baby inside of her kicked away happily as if she or he was too happy to be awake and she winced as one kick hit her at her bladder. She stared at herself in the mirror throwing her pyjama's on the floor and staring at her full body in her bathroom mirror.
God she was stretched to the hilt with this baby, her belly round, her breasts much the same, she was aching all over and she stepped into the shower for lack of a better thing and thought that showers were one of those things that she would have missed during her missing year. Alongside vodka, her son, tampons, her son, peanut butter, her son and coffee.
And three of those things she couldn't have because she was pregnant! Regina had read enough books to know what she could and couldn't do if she got pregnant. She bit her bottom lip folding her teeth into the flesh as she towelled herself dry as best she could. Her body was bulky and her belly fat and swollen and the baby kicked again as for the third time since she had entered her bathroom she was back on the toilet.
She padded into her bedroom and decided she couldn't be bothered. She waved her wand and she dressed automatically making the fabric bend to her will and to her new body. She winced as pain shot up her lower back. her feet were swollen too and she looked at herself in the mirror and she bit her bottom lip looking at how bloated she looked. Even with her short hair she found that she looked hideous. In fact it made her more than a little emotional, here she was pregnant, alone and Henry was gone.
Henry was gone.
Her baby was gone.
And she had to stuff her hands in her mouth to keep herself from weeping. Henry had not been in his room since she had let him go skipping off into the woods with David that time she'd realised she couldn't keep him here by force but now he was gone and that room was empty. That night where Pan was masquerading as her son didn't count as that wasn't Henry.
And now he was gone.
She bit down hard on her bottom lip again until she got herself under control. She didn't know what was happening here but she had a reputation to uphold. When all else failed that was what she clung to in a crisis. This was she relied upon. Regina might be breaking inside but on the outside the Evil Queen stayed strong and so she did her make up, did her hair, popped in her earring and sprayed her perfume going downstairs to see if her coffee machine did decaf.
She was just sipping a cup that was absolutely disgusting and wondering at how everything was the same, including the food in the fridge that seemed to be all in date, which was very, very strange. She took in the vitamins that had appeared from nowhere and she looked them up on her phone. It was only ten AM. She was expecting a home visit if the eighteen missed phone calls were anything to go by.
She was just reading the label of one of the pregnancy vitamins and wondering if she broke the curse because she was pregnant when there was a banging at the door.
She didn't bother with any enchantments or any spells to see who was at the door, Regina was a pragmatist at the best of times and the second she had woken up in her own bed in Storybrooke sans her son, a year missing under her belt and very, very pregnant she suspected that the Charming's, the Bookworm, Captain Guyliner, Henry's miserable father, and everyone else had done the same and so she had been expecting the banging on her door.
That being said she was not going to rush to answer it. Even if her current predicament wasn't anything to go by she was the Evil Queen and that gave her some shattered, tattered, torn reputation that believe it or not she was actually keen on keeping.
Opening the door Charming tumbled in and Regina closed her eyes at the mess he would undoubtably make on the Persian. Snow White followed him and Hook brought up the rear.
"What the hell happened?" Charming asked stalking into her kitchen his wife following. Only Hook looked down at her belly and his eyes widened, his mouth dropped open and yeah okay…Regina took a great deal of pleasure in getting that look out of Hook's eye if this was any other day and any other time.
"I don't know" she said slamming the door shut and ushering the rather stunned Captain into her kitchen—she noticed with wry amusement that Hook tripped almost on her rug before he managed to tear his eyes off her belly.
"I woke up the same way you did, in my own bed and without my memories. Also without my son so there's that"
She came into the room and put her hands on her hips. Crossing her arms didn't work right now and never before had she hated it. Snow gasped suddenly looking at her and Charming turned to stare at her his eyes wide.
"Oh yes" she said sarcastically as Hook grabbed her crystal decanter poured himself a glass and downed it in one.
"So this happened as well"
Honestly…the look on the three of their faces was worth some kind of prize she thought.
Didn't stop the headache though.
And there you go, I hope that you enjoy this chapter and this story and I will hopefully see you for more!
Next Chapter-Henry is back in Storybrooke as is Emma and she has some questions that Regina can't answer. Meanwhile in the Enchanted Forest Regina meets a man who smells like forest and has very nice green eyes. If you notice that kind of thing which she defiantly did not.
