Fanfiction: Transformers: The Intergalactic Incident

Author's Note: All characters are the creations and property of other individuals and corporations, including, but not limited to: Hasbro, Takara Tomy, Paramount Pictures, and everyone else that owns Transformers, and are used without permission for the sole purpose of my entertainment and the entertainment of Transformers fanfiction fans. The following story is an offering to the more "Mature" readers of Transformers Fanfiction. It is hopefully faithful to the mood and characterizations of the original series for the most part, yet hopefully adds character development. Be warned: This fairytale has some startling events, images, and revelations. I personally recommend this as either a PG-13 or R rating. Even though there are moderate sex scenes and only mild foul language, the level of action, violence, and frightening situations may be scary to younger readers. However, I still believe that this is all within the bounds of good taste and contains no more "adult" content than most animated films such as 'Sleeping Beauty' or 'Princess and the Frog.' Most importantly, it's all in fun! Enjoy!

I want to thank two notable fanfiction authors for their online publications that have heavily inspired this story: First, I want to give credit to Chris Fischer, creator of the Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers fan comic 'Of Mice and Mayhem,' of which this story is basically a page-for-page remake of Fischer's outstanding work, only with the Transformers in the prominent roles. In particular, Megatron and Starscream are in the leading roles. Secondly, I want to give credit to and their creators for the inspiration of Soundwave's backstory and marriage. Full credit for their Original Character, Celene, as well as many more elements regarding Soundwave's early, pre-Decepticon existence.

To my real-life family/friends readers: Please do not read this looking for an insight into my life. This is NOT autobiographical, nor are the characters merely my family or friends' parts played by the Transformers. To the best of my ability, this is a fictional Transformers animated movie, as close to their Canon personas as I possibly could make them. I have spent hours and hours reading official Transformers comic book materials, watching episodes of their TV show, and looking at original cast biographies. Example: I'm not a scuba diver, nor do I know any scuba divers, but the Constructicons ARE scuba divers, so I wrote that particular sequence to the best of my ability.

That being said, this is an Alternate Universe where I have rewritten the official Transformers canon, and I hope everyone who reads this enjoys the series of stories. This story is the first one I ever wrote, and it takes place first in my "Transformersnewfan's Alternate Universe of Transformers stories."

Thank you to the respective songwriters. I have burrowed lyrics, especially from Christopher Wallace and the writers I find credits for online; your songs will be credited at the end of the chapters the songs are used. I would also like to credit and thank blurr1997, Supermoi, and especially LadyClassical for their characterizations of many of the Transformers that have inspired me!

Chapter 1:

What if the "wrong people" ever discovered a Decepticon…?

"Y'know, I seen me a mermaid once. I even seen me a shark eat an octopus. But I ain't never seen no phantom Russian Submarine."

-Watson. "The Hunt for Red October"

1984:

Early hours of Monday, Central Standard Time 3:15 A.M., approaching Glasgow, Kentucky:

He was dead. One of their own was deactivated. Nothing like this had ever happened to them before.

The only sound in the transporter was that of the windshield wipers on turbo blast. It was raining. In fact, it was POURING rain outside as the Decepticons headed West, back to their Underwater Base just outside of Phoenix, Arizona. They were all depressed and in despair beyond everything they had ever known.

Their transporter inched along slowly through the Kentucky mountains but made a respectable time since they left Washington, D.C., only four hours earlier. Human-built automobiles took more than twice as long to travel the same distances. As usual, Communications Officer Soundwave, Third in Command of the Cybertronian warrior army known as the Decepticons, was at the vehicle's wheel. But what wasn't usual was the heavy aura of sadness and grief that was now, and for the foreseeable future, the team's newest, unwelcomed recruit.

Soundwave kept his optics trained firmly on the road ahead of them as the storm roared overhead, driving with a skill born of long practice; his hands steered their vehicle through the jagged topography almost on their own, leaving his processor free to wander into thoughts… "How could this have happened? This was not supposed to happen!"

Thundercracker was sitting in the front passenger seat, leaning on the dashboard with his helm in his hands; his expression was unreadable. But his feelings were a toxic mix of hatred, sorrow, and raw pain. He felt as if everything he had been working towards was now gone and with nothing to show for it. It was all for nothing. Being the eldest of the three Seekers added an extra burden; he always felt he was supposed to protect the younger two flyers.

Ravage was in the backseats, sitting in the center with his helm poking over the console, studying his Creator as he drove. The Panther attempted to read Soundwave's thoughts. Still, his own telepathic powers were very rudimentary, having more clear mental links with his younger brothers and occasionally being able to catch a thought or emotion from someone else. And it didn't help that Soundwave was deliberately blocking him out mentally at the moment.

Pan over left to Laserbeak, the vicious Cybertronian Condor Cassette, vicious even by Decepticon standards—and often vicious TOWARDS the Decepticons themselves. A casual observer would never be able to guess that now if they were looking at the little red and black Bird as he laid his weary frame on an armrest behind the driver's seat. He didn't want to make a sound; he didn't want to speak because, he figured, if he spoke, then it would somehow confirm that this was all real and not just a nightmare, a nightmare he desperately wanted to awaken from now. So Laserbeak sat in silence, wanting to believe that this was all a bad dream for just a little while longer.

They were brothers; despite their species difference, they had the same two Creators. The gray area that hung over Cybertronian wildlife had always included the questions such as: Are they Robots? Beasts? Something in between? But for these two siblings, the questions had never come up. They were who they were, and they worked as a team. They still had each other, the Cat tried to remind himself.

To the right of the two Cassettes, behind the passenger seat, the group's Leader, Megatron, sat in a disheveled heap, shock and hopelessness washing over him; he was beside himself with grief, "Everything was going so right…" the Leader whispered to himself as coolant tears began to well up in his optics, "How could this…THIS happen?"
