Chapter One:
Note: This chapter's sister of Jaune is Lycoris. She resembles Lunox from Mobile Legends using the Twilight Goddess skin.
"And this is of the twilight sky over the seas. I call it the Twilight Gate of the Sea." A voice said over the scroll on the video call.
"That's amazing, Lycoris. I love how you managed to give the sky that perfect balance of lightish purple to convey that it is getting dark but that there is still enough light out from the setting sun. Yet, it's not too bright that you can't see the beautiful stars. But I also like how you made the sea reflect the sky's colour." Jaune said, smiling as he looked over the fantastic painting.
"Thanks, bro. And the lightish purple is violet." Lycoris said over the scroll. "What do you think about the boat?"
"It's stunning. And I think it was a good idea to make it a research vessel since it would make sense they would be out at this time. Also, what kind of paints did you use?"
"I used Acrylic paint for this. I wanted to make this an oil painting, but I didn't have some of the colours I needed."
"What colours do you need?" Jaune asked, grabbing a pen and paper.
"Violet, cream, scarlet, walnut, Titanium Zinc White, Foundation White, and Underpainting White."
"Still, oil or not, it is a beautiful painting."
"Thanks." Lycoris said as she put away her painting.
"Anyway. How's it going on your end?"
"Everything is going well. The store is doing fine. I had to order another shipment of Acrylic paints and primers since several sites that sell miniatures had massive sales. But I'm not complaining since it meant I had an influx of customers."
"That's good that your store is doing well. But what about you?"
"I'm doing fine. A bit lonely, though, without you or the others ruining my peace."
"Yeah, it took me a while to get used to the peace here. I mean, it can get a little chaotic with my teammates and friends, but it's nowhere near as when we Arcs are together in one room."
"I can imagine. After all, we did get the cops checking in on the family a few times. But I didn't mind it when you distracted me those times from my work. It was certainly far more enjoyable and mind-opening."
"Mind scrambling are the words you used during those times." Jaune said, chuckling.
"How's Beacon life?" Lycoris asked, rolling her eyes.
"It's going fine. A bit painful, though. But I am getting by. And I have my partner to thank for that since she's been training me."
"That's great. It means you're one step closer to fulfilling your dream of being a huntsman."
"Yeah. I'm grateful to have her as a friend and partner."
"When do you think we can meet her? And the rest of your friends?"
"That's going to be a bit tough since Pyrrha is generally pretty busy. And the others have different schedules. Not to mention, even if we somehow get everyone to meet up back at our old home, it is on the other side of Vale. But maybe I can talk to them this weekend and see if we could make it for our next break."
"Wait. Pyrrha? Your partner is Pyrrha Nikos? The legendary Pyrrha Nikos that won so many tournaments and was the mascot of that crappy cereal you used to eat so much? That Pyrrha Nikos?"
"Hey, that cereal was good." Jaune defended yet could not help but smirk as his sister laughed.
"Jaune. That cereal was a health bomb. I'm pretty sure it was ninety percent sugar. And it tasted like sugary cardboard at the best of times."
"Yeah, I'm not sure why Mom allowed me to have so much."
"Maybe when we see her again, we can ask her. Anyway, is it true that Pyrrha Nikos is your partner?"
"Yes, it's true. Pyrrha Nikos is my partner. And I'm glad she is. I owe her a lot."
"You have to tell me everything when you visit later today. You're still visiting, right?"
"Of course. You know I wouldn't miss it. And even though tomorrow is the weekend, I made sure nothing would come up, so if you want, we can spend the night together and watch something like we used to do when we were younger."
"Technically, we still are young since we are in our teens. But I would like that. I missed doing those things with you and the others. Although, I doubt we would be getting much sleep, paying much attention to the movie, or eating the snacks we make."
"Most likely." Jaune chuckled before noticing the time. "Anyway. I got to go. My teammates are about to return. Once they do, we'll be heading to lunch and then to the last of our classes."
"Alright. See you later, Jaune. You remember where the spare key is. The other doors will be unlocked. Take care." Lycoris said, smiling.
"You too. See you later. Bye." Jaune said as he ended the video call. And as soon as he did, his teammates entered the room. "Hey, guys. How were your classes?"
"Boring." Nora answered while Ren let out a slight yawn as his answer. And that was all Jaune needed to know what class Ren and Nora just had.
"What story did he tell this time?"
"I think it was about a story where Port and eight others had to defend a town from a splinter faction that wanted to take over the town but knew the biggest problem was the defenders." Ren answered as he and Nora went to their beds.
"How was your class, Pyrrha?" Jaune asked while internally wondering if Port got his stories from comics, movies, or some video games.
"Interesting, to say the least. Peach taught us how to administer basic first-aid with plants we might find in the forest." Pyrrha answered.
"I'm sensing a but coming."
"But it was beyond messy. Some of the sap and liquids inside the plants got on me. I'm going to go take a quick shower before we head to lunch." Pyrrha answered before grabbing her clothes and entering the bathroom.
"Alright."
"Who were you talking with before we entered, Jaune-Jaune?" Nora asked, curious.
"Oh, I was talking with my older sister Lycoris."
"That's nice. Wait. How many sisters do you have again?"
"And is she the one that's married?" Ren asked.
"I have seven sisters. And no. Saphron is the one that's married."
"Right. I forgot."
"How many older sisters do you have, Jaune?" Nora asked.
"I have four older, one slightly younger, and two my age since they are twins."
"How much older is... the one you were just talking with?" Ren asked.
"Lycoris. And she's nineteen." Jaune answered as he pulled up a photo on his scroll.
It was an image of him and Lycoris standing in front of an art store called the Land of Dawn. While a wholesome image, Ren and Nora couldn't help but chuckle at the silly faces Jaune and his sister were making. They looked adorable and made them wonder what it would have been like to have siblings if their past was different. However, Jaune was thankful he had this nice image of him and Lycoris as a just in case since the other photos would earn him a much more different reaction.
"This is her. We took it two years ago when she opened up the store of her dreams." Jaune said.
"Oh, wow. That's awesome." Nora said, impressed.
"Wait. You said two years ago, meaning your sister would have been seventeen. Don't you have to be a specific age to own a business?" Ren asked.
"In some cases, yes. And this is one of them, as Lycoris only became the actual owner of the store when she turned eighteen. But before then, our mom owned the store."
"It's still impressive that she managed to own a store at our age." Nora said.
"And have it be the store of her dreams." Ren added.
"Yeah. We're all proud of her." Jaune said, smiling.
"But I have to ask, does she wear eye color-changing contacts?"
"No. A mutation occurred that caused the pigment in her eyes to change and have her eye colour become lilac. But her hair she dyed."
"Okay. I was just curious."
"Do you think we will be able to meet the rest of your family, Jaune?" Nora asked.
"One day, but I'm not sure when though, since only my younger sister is still living with my parents. And the rest of my sisters live all over Vale except for Saphron, who lives in Mistral."
"Still, it would be nice to meet our fearless leader's family... for many reasons." Nora said while discreetly eyeing the bathroom door.
While it was reasonably obvious that Pyrrha was crushing on Jaune, it wasn't so blatant just how bad it was. Nora honestly wishes she could erase from her memory the times she accidentally intruded on Pyrrha's private time when she thought the dorm was empty. But after the embarrassment, Pyrrha told her everything about just how much she was in love with Jaune. And while some of the details she didn't need to know, Nora was more than willing to help out her best friend by getting her together with their leader. Granted, it was proving far more challenging since Jaune was a bit dense-headed. Yet, Nora was undeterred and felt like meeting Jaune's parents would be good since it would allow Pyrrha to make a good impression on her future in-laws.
"True." Jaune said, not catching the last part.
"But it would require a lot of planning since, as Jaune said, his family lives all over Vale. Not to mention, Pyrrha still has to deal with her sponsors, which we have to take into consideration as well." Ren said.
"Right. Plus, we would need to ensure no one else finds out about this and starts spreading rumors." Nora added, recalling the time they needed help from Ozpin and Glynda to crush some rumors journalists made when they saw them heading to the theaters for a team bonding activity.
"Yeah. Pyrrha does not need another set of rumors running about." Jaune agreed.
"But we can discuss all this another day. Right now, we need to get ready for classes after lunch." Ren said.
"Right."
Getting up, Jaune put away his scroll before everyone returned to their desk to get ready for their following classes. But while Ren and Nora weren't looking, Jaune went to his closet and grabbed everything he needed for his time with his sister later today and potentially overnight stay. While he didn't have to be there until roughly seven, Jaune wanted to pick up a few things before arriving.
"That feels so much better." Pyrrha said as she exited the bathroom.
"I can imagine. Here." Jaune said, handing Pyrrha her bag. "I got your stuff ready."
"Thanks, Jaune." Pyrrha said, blushing.
"You're welcome, Pyr."
'At this point, I think nothing short of saying it directly to his face will get the message through his head.' Nora thought, annoyed. It was so apparent that Pyrrha loved Jaune and that Jaune cared for her deeply that it was a wonder they weren't in a relationship yet.
"Everyone ready?" Ren asked.
"Yup." Everyone else answered.
"Let's get going then. I'm sure Team Rwby is getting impatient." Jaune said as they exited the dorm with Nora locking it.
Ten Minutes Later
"There you guys are." Ruby said before taking a bite from her sandwich. But from the crunching sound, everyone could tell that she had snuck some cookies into the sandwich.
"Hey, guys." Jaune said as he and his team sat down with their food and started eating.
"Afternoon, Team Jnpr." Weiss said before drinking some tea.
"How were your classes?" Yang asked before taking a sip of her soda.
"Boring." Nora and Ren answered.
"Gross and sticky." Pyrrha answered.
"How so, Pyrrha?" Blake asked, curious.
"Professor Peach was teaching us how to apply impromptu first-aid with wild plants that we might find. And let's just say some of the liquids/sap were more sticky than the sap from the trees in the Emerald Forest."
"Ugh. Yeah. It can get messy. I remember a few times Winter complaining about that." Wiess said.
"What about you, Jaune? How was class?" Ruby asked.
"I didn't have any classes. And the last one, you were in it with me." Jaune answered.
"Oh, right. I forgot you have a small break before lunch."
"Lucky." Yang muttered.
"Anyway. What's everyone's plans for today?" Blake asked.
"Not much. I'm just waiting for a call from my mom later. It's been a while since we've been able to talk." Pyrrha answered.
"Renny and I are going to finish a project for Doctor Oobleck." Nora answered.
"And I'm heading into town later to meet up with an old friend." Jaune answered.
"Friend or secret lover." Yang teased, causing Jaune to roll his eyes while Pyrrha tensed slightly.
"Friend." Jaune said, missing how Pyrrha visibly relaxed.
"Sure."
"How long will you be out?" Ren asked.
"Not sure. I might be out until tomorrow."
"Alright. Just text us later so we know whether we should lock the door or not."
"Will do." Jaune said before turning to Team Rwby. "What about you four? Any plans?"
"No, not really." Yang answered, with Ruby nodding.
"Ahem." Weiss coughed, looking annoyed.
"Uh. You okay, Weiss?" Ruby asked.
"Did you dunces forget that you two asked me to help you complete the assignment for Glynda that you two have been putting off?"
"We didn't forget." Yang lied. "We, uh, just had a lot on our minds. Yeah, that's it."
"Sure." Weiss said, rolling her eyes. "Meet me in the library a half hour after class so we can get started."
"Fine." Ruby and Yang said.
"And you, Blake?" Ren asked.
"I'm just going to catch up on some of my readings." Blake answered.
"Let me guess. The Ninjas of Love book series." Yang said, smirking.
"Nope." Blake said, surprising everyone.
"No?" Weiss asked, shocked.
"No. I finished the series and already reread the entirety of the series three times. I decided to pick up another book series and read them until the next book in the Ninjas of Love series comes out."
"Oh." The other said, relieved.
"What book series did you pick up?" Nora asked.
"A series about giant mechs. The current book I'm reading is called Bloodname."
"Is it good?" Jaune asked, curious.
"Not entirely sure since I'm only a few chapters in. But it does seem interesting."
"That's good."
"Aside from today, anything else interesting happening?" Ren asked.
"Hmm. Nope." Ruby answered.
"Not really. I just want to get through some of the books." Blake answered.
"I might head into town this weekend to buy some supplies. And I'm expecting a call from my sister. But other than that, no." Weiss said.
"I might go to Junior's bar this weekend." Yang said.
"Yang. You're banned from going back to Juniors. Do you really want to risk getting detention again?" Ruby asked.
"Fine." Yang said, rolling her eyes. "I'll go to a different bar. And maybe go to the bike show on Sunday."
*RRRRRIIIIINNNNNGGG*
"Well, that's the bell. Time to go to class." Nora said.
"Oh, before I forget to ask. When are you leaving, Jaune?" Pyrrha asked.
"As soon as class ends." Jaune answered.
"Alright."
"Do any of you need me to pick up anything while I'm in town?"
"No, I don't think so." Nore and Ren answered.
"I don't think so." Ruby said with her team shaking their heads.
"I think there are some things we might need for the dorm and project that Ms. Goodwicth assigned us. But once I remember what they are, if there are any, I'll text them to you." Pyrrha said.
"Alright." Jaune said as they cleaned up and threw away their trash before heading to their class.
Two Hours Later
'Finally. I thought this class would never end.' Jaune thought as he gathered his stuff since Port's and Oobleck's class had just finished. While separate, Oobleck's and Port's classes weren't too hard. However, it was nothing short of torture when they decided to teach together. Thankfully for Jaune, the lessons weren't too challenging this time, and he managed to stay awake through most of it. But since classes were over, it meant he could finally go and see his sister. 'Alright. Time to finish getting ready.'
Readjusting the strap of his backpack, Jaune exited the classroom and headed toward his dorm. Once there, he entered and went over to his bed after placing his bag on his desk. Jaune then kneeled and pulled out another bag from underneath his bed. He placed it on the mattress and examined the contents to ensure he had everything before closing it. Satisfied that he hadn't forgotten anything, Jaune grabbed a sweater from his closet before slinging the bag over his shoulder and exiting the room. He then locked the door before heading to the bullheads.
One Hour Later
'Why is it that I always forget my motion sickness pills?' Jaune wondered as he emptied the contents of his stomach into the trash can. And even though it had been a while, Jaune knew that if his sister, Saphron, were here, she would be teasing him nonstop because of it. Wiping his face clean, Jaune stood up before taking out the list of paints his sister needed and what else he could get for the both of them to make their time together more enjoyable. It has been a while, and he knew they both would want to make the most of it. "Alright. What's first?"
Figuring he could get some of the more essential things out of the way first, Jaune headed to the nearby cosmetics store. But as soon as he stepped in, he remembered why he hated this store in particular since it was massive with more options than one thought possible. Thankfully, he remembered where precisely the thing he needed was. And after a bit of navigating the aisles and waiting in a surprisingly short line, Jaune exited the store with what he needed.
'Alright. I got the baby oil for the paint. Lycoris might be a talented painter, but dear Oum; she can also be messy and get paint everywhere. Well, I can't blame her too much since it's hard to stay clean in multiple senses when we're together.' Jaune thought as he put the baby oil in his bag.
Zipping up his bag, Jaune decided to make his next stop at the nearby arts and crafts store. While he did always feel slightly guilty about buying supplies at another store and not his sister's, Jaune felt like he could make an exception this time to get the colours Lycoris needed at the moment to finish whatever project she was working on. But this store also had a few things he could buy that they could work on together. Heading to the edge of the sidewalk, Jaune hailed a cab and was lucky a free one was passing by at the moment. Getting in, he told the driver where to go.
One Hour Later
"Alright. I got the paints, baby oil, and the movies. Hopefully, I didn't forget anything. But knowing me, I probably did." Jaune said as he arrived at his sister's shop. And while the sign did say that the store was closed, he paid it no mind. However, before Jaune could grab the spare key, the door suddenly swung open, and he was pulled inside. "HEY!"
"JAUNE! YOU'RE FINALLY HERE!" Lycoris shouted as she pulled her brother into a tight hug.
"Hey, sis. I see you missed me." Jaune said, chuckling as he returned the hug.
"Of course. It's been almost sixteen months since we last saw each other in person."
"I know. I missed you too." Jaune said before giving her a quick peck on her head. While she might have been older, he was still a good four inches taller.
"What's in the bag?" Lycoris asked as they separated.
"Oh, the paints you said you needed, along with some baby oil."
"THANKS, JAUNE! NOW I CAN FINISH THE PAINTING WITHOUT NEEDING TO ORDER MORE PAINTS! Well, at least for now. And the baby oil I needed since I ran out recently."
"You're welcome." Jaune said, loving to see his sister happy.
"And the other bag?"
"The ingredients we need to make dinner. It's been a while since we ate or even made something together. Plus, we can catch up while we eat."
"It has been a while. I would like that. So, what are we going to make?"
"Ratatouille. But it's going to have both meats and vegetables." Jaune answered, closing the door before following his sister to her kitchen. But not for the first or last time; Jaune was glad they were alone as his gaze lowered and lingered a bit as they walked.
Two Hours Later
"O-o-okay. So you're telling me that, despite all evidence to the contrary, most of your faculty decided to have a pranking day where they would play small pranks on each other and the students." Lycoris said, laughing after swallowing some of the ratatouille they made.
"Yup. And it would have been fine had they kept it between themselves and scaled back the pranks. But they didn't. Not to mention, they didn't tell Ms. Goodwicth about it." Jaune said, chuckling at the memories.
"If the rumors are true, isn't that like a death sentence?"
"Oh, those rumors severely underestimate how strict Ms. Goodwitch is. But they also don't give her enough credit or even cover a portion of what she is like. Yeah, she is strict, but she is also very fair and has lots of patience."
"Still."
"Yeah. She was beyond mad. I swear, most of the faunus students with enhanced hearing could hear her blood pressure rising when she discovered the mess they had made."
"What did Ms. Goodwitch do?"
"Ms. Goodwitch gave them two full weeks of detention, made them take care of all her lessons for those two weeks, and dumped all her paperwork onto them for the month. But that's not the best part." Jaune said, now full-on laughing.
"What is it?" Lycoris asked, curious, leaning forward, eager to hear more.
"She, and I kid you not, built a literal dog house outside Beacon and made Ozpin and the rest of the faculty stay and sleep there for the month."
"Wait. SHE DID!? DO YOU HAVE A PICTURE?"
"Yes. A... friend took a picture of them and forwarded it to my team." Jaune answered as he took out his scroll and showed Lycoris the picture of the faculty sitting inside a giant dog house.
"OH, MY, OUM! THAT IS JUST HILARIOUS!" Lycoris said, laughing and nearly falling out of her chair.
"Yeah. Needless to say, they learned their lesson pretty quickly. But Ms. Goodwitch still hasn't forgiven them entirely since you could still see some remains of their pranks in some rooms."
"Well, I'm glad you're having fun and that you made some friends, bro."
"Thanks, Lycoris. And I'm glad you and your shop are doing well."
"Thanks, Jaune. And, you know, while I'm glad you're able to chase your dreams, I do miss having you and the others with me."
"And I miss having you and the others mess with me daily." Jaune said, smiling, as he gently squeezed Lycoris's hand.
"You might say otherwise, Jaune, but you enjoyed that."
"Only somewhat." Jaune said, chuckling. "Anway. Enough about that. We're here now. So, let's just enjoy our time together now."
"You're right." Lycoris said.
"So, what do you want to do now?"
"Oh. I know. Let me show you what I have been painting recently."
"Okay. Lead the way."
Nodding, they got up and put the dishes in the sink before washing them. Once done, Lycoris led Jaune to her living room. And even though he knew her place in and out by now, Jaune still let her lead him, mainly when it entailed her art. It just felt so nice seeing his older sister happy about something that she has a ton of passion for. But there was another reason why he liked it. And his sisters knew it too; that's why they always wanted to take the lead no matter what, as they loved it when he did it. Moreover, it usually led to some fun bonding time down the road.
'Dear, Oum.' Jaune thought, shocked, as they entered the living room.
Well, to be precise, Lycoris entered the room and headed to what Jaune could only assume was her latest work. But as she did that, Jaune remained frozen in the doorway. While he knew Lycoris was passionate about art, it still amazed him how many paintings she had done. And it seemed like she had done well over fifty since they last met in person since the entire room was covered in finished paintings.
"Sorry about the mess. But you know how it is for someone who loves painting. Although, you can't complain too much since your room was never clean. And it was only messier after we were done with it." Lycoris said, snapping Jaune from his thoughts.
"Yeah. But it was even messier than that when the rest of our sisters joined the party." Jaune chuckled.
"That's an understatement. I think it took us a week to eliminate the smell and stains." Lycoris said as she grabbed the supplies Jaune brought and sat on her stool in front of the easel of her most recent work. "Just let me set these up, and then I can show you what else I have been working on."
"Alright." Jaune said as his gaze stopped on his sister.
Jaune knew he was many things. And being dense-headed was one of those things. Yet, even he could not deny how beautiful and sexy his sister, Lycoris, was. Hell, all his sisters were gorgeous beyond belief, with looks that could give anyone wet dreams for a long time.
