AN: this is the 5th chapter for SD, and we're continuing the Road trip arc. V1 has disappeared! (it was distracted by a smol animal (florp?)) Also, I will be posting and writing roughly 1 chapter a day to avoid burnout and to keep my muse. BTW, if Hakita and such seem Out of character, then that's because they ARE! THIS IS MY AU!

"Well, shit." Hakita vocalized in an incredibly monotone and displeased manner.

V1 was gone, which was not good. If V1 had managed to get lost, probably only bad things could happen. V1 was a gremlin after all, and being a nuisance was kind of it's shtick. Asking around if anyone had seen a 4'1 child with sharp teeth (he still hadn't gotten rid of them after the biting incident, he really had to.) he quickly was pointed to the exact store he was just in. had V1 followed him?

Quickly entering the store (and regaining his anxiety) Hakita managed to find V1 bumming around in the games aisle.

"Oooh this one's actually got batteries included that's pretty neat, and thi- OH HI HAKITA how are you doing?"

For a few seconds Silence reigned king, but all things must fall.

"Vee I swear to god don't get out of the car without me ever again. What if you ran into a pedo or something and they tried to take you?"

"I'd kick him in the balls and run away, also, you know i'm like, made of metal, yeah? Doubt he could get me to do anything at all cuz he wouldn't be able to coerce me or force me into anything lol"

"I know, it's just the premise. You'd cause all sorts of havoc, and I'm not all for that. You'd probably find a way to get several government agencies involved, vee."

After dragging (metaphorically, he'd be in trouble if it was physical) V1 out of the store and taking a deep steadying breath, and continuing off to the car, now checking that V1 was with him every now and then.

Getting to the car, he realized a problem. "V1, the car is locked. How the hell did you get out?"

"Don't bother asking I'm going to be honest it was kinda confusing and like i ended up in the hole where the wheel isl"

"Vee, you can't exit a car through the wheelhouse. What the hell did you do?"

"I don't know! I just sorta did!"

After a while of driving, they were passing through Charlotte, and soon to be on their way further down to Sardis, where they'd grab more water to fill the engine as well as get some snacks. However, those were all plans for later. They stopped at a motel, as it was getting fairly late, and Hakita knew the problems that came with driving while sleepy. Hell, he'd nearly died from it once.

Got better though.

Once they'd gotten to the Motel, Hakita payed for a room for 2 nights - "Nice kid." "Not a kid, just small." - and they'd gotten to bed, turning in for the night.

"Night Hakita."

"Good night Vee."

AN: holy crap this chapter fought me so hard I was having trouble getting past Sentence 2. Barely got past page 2 :sob:

I feel like this is probably the worst chapter I've written yet, and I'm probably going to go over it again at some point. I'm probably forgetting a couple other things to announce, but yeah. Don't expect the 2 chapters every day thing to hold up, I'm about to go on YET ANOTHER road trip IRL. Hakita keeps calling V1 Vee in public because calling "Your Kid" V1 is kinda weird. Hakita has anxiety/paranoia from entering the store because he's had bad experiences with CIA and other governments before, and is paranoid that they're constantly watching. BTW, the frame for V1 has sharp teeth, but it's gonna get removed. Also, since I just got home, I'm going to be spending my time doing things I like, like writing, but it might fight me, so expect slow updates.
