Chapter 13: Second Coming… Of Unwelcome Proportions
The Somniel soon returned to Lythos, as the land was no longer vibrant in color, but instead, devoid of color and feeling as the group departed from the Somniel, seeing the darkened land.
"...To think… we left here, believing we would come back… and properly celebrate and hold a proper wedding…" Siege remarked, looking to Alear. "I'm sure this is nothing like what you wanted to come home to… but I promise you, and Lumera… we will restore this land, immediately." Siege said to her with a firm, determined look in his eyes.
"It's not just the castle that matters… the Divine Dragon Shard inside cannot be allowed to be destroyed." Lumera remarked. "It is the only thing that has kept Gradlon and the foul power it bears for Sombron away."
"The land… it has fallen to rot and ruin…" Alear remarked with a grim expression.
"We'll save it." Richard declared. "Lythos will become the divine land that it was. But until Sombron falls, we cannot even hope to fight against that corruption."
"To Lythos Castle." Alfred declared with determination. "Our battle to save the world shall reach a climax here."
The group then entered Lythos Castle, as the entire group marched inside, with Alear, Veyle, Siege, Richard and Lumera leading the gathered army.
"I know you're here, Sombron! Show yourself!" Alear growled.
At those words, the Four Dragons made themselves known, standing before the group from a fair distance.
"Hahahahaha… well, well, well, you finally decided to show up! Though I can only wonder… however did you figure out we'd be back here at Lythos?" Goku Black asked with a wicked smirk.
"Bet ol' Bison blabbed about it. But he always blabs his plans when he was confident, and his confidence isn't misplaced." Boujack laughed.
"Enough of this! Step out of our way, or we'll grind you to mincemeat!" Siege yelled.
"I don't think so." A familiar voice called out, as suddenly, walking past the Four Dragons, was Umbris herself, bearing a dark horned helmet on her head, and Marth's ring upon her finger.
"Dark Veyle…" Siege growled.
"My name is Umbris now." Umbris declared. "It serves to segregate me from that wretched weakling that you stand with."
"I am no weakling." Veyle declared back. "I simply lack your cruelty, but I will not stand by and let you destroy what I have been looking for."
"It doesn't matter what you say. I'm not after what you're looking for anyways. I'm simply after you. To erase you from your pathetic existence. But in order to do that… I have a few obstacles standing in the way." Umbris remarked. "Dragons."
"As you command." Zamasu said with an evil smile as he warped behind Richard, before sending him flying out of the castle with a mighty kick! Boujack would then manhandle Mirai with one hand, chucking her away as well, as 21 soon kicked Alear out, and Black himself sent Siege flying away, before they pursued their attacked targets.
"And now… here we stand. No one to stand in the way… as I obliterate my wretched impostor, and the last thing standing of Lythos' royalty… Queen Lumera." Umbris growled.
"You should have checked your field better, Umbris." A familiar voice suddenly said, as Magina descended upon the allied forces. "Now, you face me as well for this fight. You sentenced your Dragons to an imminent defeat, and now you yourself shall fall before the weight of righteousness and justice!" Magina exclaimed.
"So even the Goddess herself descends to fight." Umbris remarked, before a sadistic smirk appeared on her face. "Good, I was hoping for that. I do not know how much power Father has fed in that helmet of mine, but I will use every ounce of it… to send you to oblivion with that Divine Dragon Queen that you cherish so much."
Umbris then snapped her fingers, as a mass of Corrupted appeared between them both, as the group noticed that the Corrupted seemed to be enhanced.
"With Father's newfound powers, I have made the Corrupted just as strong as the traitorous and useless Hounds." Umbris remarked. "I wonder, how many of them will it take to kill you all, and how many will it take to destroy your Goddess."
"Not enough for you to make, foul shadow." Lumera remarked. "We do not need my child, and her betrothed, nor his brother and their child to fight on. We have fought here on our strength as much as we did on theirs. Your Corrupted will fall, and Sombron shall be defeated once and for all!"
At that moment, the entire army raised their weapons in a mighty roar, as if they were of one heart and one will, as Umbris grit her teeth.
"You… I shall make you regret those words!" Umbris roared, before she ordered her Corrupted forwards.
Meanwhile…
The group of four who had been ungraciously removed from the temple suddenly crashed into each other midair, as they groaned a bit, re-righting themselves in midair, Alear and Mirai able to do so through Siege's sessions back on the Somniel.
"Krgh… damnit, we don't have time for this!" Siege growled.
"Oh, I think you do." Zamasu smirked as the Four Dragons lowered themselves down, smiling wickedly as they faced the group of four heroes. "After all, you should be honored that you're graced with any time with us gods at all, mortals." Zamasu chuckled.
"Ahahahahaha! Isn't this fun!? Oh I do so looove this game we're playing!" 21 laughed wickedly, as the term "game" struck a nerve not just with Siege, but Alear as well.
"...What… what did you just say…!?" Siege growled, clenching his fist tightly.
"She meant exactly what she said! What's a little game to you all, anyways!? Games are fun, right?" Boujack laughed, as the term angered Siege and Alear further.
"You… you no good… you think… This is just all some sort of game!?" Siege yelled through clenched teeth.
"Don't even try to reason with them. They're always a few eggs short of the carton." Richard told Alear and Siege. "What matters is that we get back to help the group as soon as we can. And while we do that, put the Dragons out of commission, for a long time at best."
"It's not even about reasoning anymore, Richard…" Siege growled as he was growling with anger.
"That's right, we cannot let them sway us." Alear stated, before drawing her blade. "Let us strike through them, for the sake of our allies below!"
"Alear… I think we need to do a little more than just defeat them." Siege growled. "Put the sword away… there's better ways to properly get our point across. After all… saying this is a game… you realize just how little value they're putting in all of this?"
"...Now that you put it that way…" Alear stated as a power was rising up in her and in Siege, stronger than the group of four villains before them had even felt, as their eyes all widened.
"What…!? What is this!?" Black exclaimed in shock as he felt their power skyrocketing.
"I've been needing to vent for a loooong while. So has my beloved." Siege stated bluntly.
"And Siege is right… we can't waste time… so right here… Right now…" Alear growled.
"WE WILL OBLITERATE YOU!"
Suddenly, a bright golden aura flared around Siege, and an azure and red one around Alear, the two allowing their anger to erupt into new power, as the two yelled, unleashing new transformations.
Siege could be seen in what could easily have been discounted a normal Super Saiyan form… but the radiance and the teal sparks coming from the aura said otherwise, and the green eyes were a lot more vibrant in color, as Siege's hair spiked like a Super Saiyan's hair, pure radiance and gold coming from him.

Alear, meanwhile, was coated in azure and crimson flaming aura, her eyes much more vibrant in color, as her power rivaled Siege's in this moment in time, golden sparks emanating from her, as she, along with Siege, looked at the Four Dragons in a solid hatred look.

"You… you… INSOLENT MORTALS!" Black yelled, as the group of four transformed into their most powerful forms, Boujack losing his beard and shirt, as he hulked up into a more muscular green state, his hair now longer as well.
"You DARE challenge US like this!?" Zamasu growled. "YOU SHALL LEARN YOUR PLACES!"
"Talk all you want. Your flawed godly power won't save you now." Siege stated plainly.
"YOU DARE-!?" Black exclaimed in fury, before Mirai and Richard would join in, Mirai back in her Divine Super Saiyan Dragon form, and Richard immediately assumed his own Master Form, crystalline wings and all.
"Face it, you freaks. Your time in this world is about to come to a crashing halt." Mirai stated firmly.
"And I for one am in agreement." Richard remarked, cracking his knuckles. "Time for all of you to be kicked right out of this realm."

Richard's Ki Restored to 100
Before Richard could continue, Goku Black growled in anger before tagging to Zamasu, which gave them a small health boost and restored their ki slightly, but not enough to mount another offensive.
As soon as Zamasu immediately tagged in, Richard then rushed in, using his blade once again, before then returning to using his magic missile barrage, before he then raised his hand, and created a massive beam of energy, and then swiped it down right onto Zamasu, as the attack hit him hard.

Zamasu then recovered, before quickly mounting a counter offensive, throwing Richard off guard with a tap shot that caused Richard to waste his Vanishing Step, before Zamasu laid on him with rapid blows, being aided a couple times by Black, who would come in and either slash or kick Richard back, before Zamasu unleashed two barrages of ki blasts, before swapping to Goku Black again, who unleashed a combined attack with Zamasu, as an unholy beam pierced through Richard.

That attack alone finished off both Zamasu and Black, the duo flying off into the distance as 21 came in, but Mirai gave her no breathing room, suddenly unleashing a Final Flash, with blue and red beams, before tagging in Siege and Alear, which immediately swapped to Alear as they unleashed an attack on 21, ending with them firing off two balls of red and blue energy, exploding on 21.

Combo Used:
Strike Arts - Ki Arts - Strike Arts
21 recovered, though it was slow, and in desperation, used her Special Arts immediately and tossed a massive red ball of destruction at Alear! Quickly utilizing her Vanishing Step, Alear was able to dodge and finish 21 off with her Strike Arts!
Combo Used:
Strike Arts
Boujack would suddenly come in, as Alear yelled with power as Siege dropped in next to her, the two unleashing their Special Arts once more, as Boujack wouldn't even survive it, the duo launching their crimson and azure ball attack, but it wasn't over for the pirate. 21, Black, and Zamasu might have escaped, but Boujack wouldn't!

"Let's finish this, Alear!" Siege yelled.
"Right!" Alear exclaimed as the duo dashed for Boujack at full force, unleashing a massive combo on the already hurting Pirate before their fists coated in red and blue, punching Boujack back, as they powered up once more.
"Ka… me…. ha… me… HAAA!" Siege and Alear yelled, unleashing their red and blue Kamehameha Wave upon Boujack, as he flew right near where Richard warped, allowing him to utilize his Special Skill.
Ultimate Skill - Bonds of Unity Kamehameha - Unable to be used During Battle. Only used if Passive "Tale Beyond Legends" is activated. Richard then gathered his energy, creating a massive four-pointed formation, as it created a massive blue spell formation, which then coalesced into a massive ball of blue energy, that Richard collected, before throwing it forward, as it hit Boujack, exploding into a massive sphere of destructive blue energy that kicked up a massive shockwave.
LEGENDARY FINISH!
Richard merely nodded, as Mirai, Siege and Alear watched as the sphere shrunk back as quickly as it grew, as there was no trace of Boujack left.
"Huh, forgot that Megido Ark is that damn strong when used at full potential." Richard remarked. "But that means that we can get everyone back down there. Better conserve power. We still got Sombron to deal with."
"That's right, we need to check upon our allies." Alear agreed, as she absorbed the aura back into herself.
As the group reverted and returned to the field of battle on the eastern side, they saw the group was… struggling a bit to get through, as they saw them trying to break through a mighty wall of Corrupted, almost everyone bolstering wounds, even Magina slightly.
"Tch… I should normally be able to strike these down in an instant… I don't think these Corrupted merely have the power of the Hounds within them…" Magina growled at their situation.
"But we can still endure!" Lumera remarked, as she cut down one of the nearby Corrupted with her blade. "Umbris cannot last forever on this front. She is running out of Corrupted to throw before us."
"Siege! Siege is back with Alear and the others!" Veyle cried, pointing towards the four of them, as they began to move nearby the group towards the front.
"Sorry, that took a while. But the Dragons are a non-issue now." Richard remarked. "I'm glad that none of you have suffered casualties in the fight that came."
"I agree in full. Now, let's finish this fight!" Siege exclaimed.
Victory: Defeat Umbris
Defeat: Siege, Alear, Richard, Mirai, Magina, Lumera, or Veyle fall
PLAYER PHASE
The group began to advance forward, taking out the vanguard of Corrupted that were directly ahead of them.
"Your head is mine!" Marni declared, before she then landed a jumping axe-strike that cleaved one of the Corrupted into two.
"Time to burn!" Mokou exclaimed, before she then went for a double-fisted barrage of fire that burned a Corrupted Mage into ashes.
Siege soon rendezvoused with Magina, as he was slightly shocked. "I never expected you would suddenly take to the field like this." Siege remarked.
"I made a promise. To Lumera, but mainly to Zephia… I abandoned my two favorite dragons during the 1,000 years they needed me the most… I won't abandon them. Not this time." Magina sternly stated.
Zephia could only look away, as there was a fairly regretful look in her eyes, as Lumera nodded with determination in her eyes.
"So be it. It's an honor to fight by your side once again." Siege remarked.
"As it is you, my chosen Radiant Savior." Magina smiled.
The force, now reunited, and rallied by Siege, Richard, Mirai, and Alear, pushed through the Corrupted, nearing closer and closer to Umbris' position, as the Fell Dragon growled.
ENEMY PHASE
The Corrupted began to advance forward, as they launched an assorted attack on the group, as several archers tried to snipe Richard down, only for him to dodge all but one of their arrows, while Siege was attacked by a pair of armored knights that he destroyed on his counters. The Corrupted were already starting to fall like dominos at this point, and the way to Umbris was wide open. It was now merely a matter of her attacking them… or vice versa.
PLAYER PHASE
The allied forces began to carve a path forward, as the royals cleared the last enemies that were in the way.
"Go, Divine One and Radiant Saviour!" Alfred exclaimed. "Defeat that Fell Dragon's heir."
"Thanks to your help, the tables turn for us!" Morion remarked. "Don't worry about us, we can handle this!"
"Sister and I are going to inflict some payback on those Corrupted!" Hortensia declared.
"And Sis and I are going to make sure that all of you get through to the real fight safe and sound!" Fogado remarked. "We're all counting on the rest of you!"
"This is in your hands now, as the true Lady Veyle's knight, I pray for your success!" Mauvier proclaimed.
"Go! Go and kick her butt!" Marni cheered.
"Hahaha… oh if I were only in her spot… this is gonna get painful." Griss laughed.
"Perhaps this was the outcome that was best in the end… and I was so blind to see it… finish this, both of you." Zephia declared.
"Alear… let's finish this." Siege said, as he rushed forward first, engaging Umbris.
"So, you're so sick of Veyle you had to change your name huh? I have to admit, Umbris fits a vile being like you." Siege spat at Umbris.
"Speak all you want, it means nothing when I end your miserable life!" Umbris growled, summoning Dark Emblem Marth by her side.
"Hah. As if you could end my life, I'm even with a Dark Emblem at your side. Marth, we're coming for you! I struck down your father with ease… and now… I STRIKE YOU DOWN!" Siege yelled, as he had equipped a special sword called Mageslasher, a sword effective against mainly magic units, causing Siege to administer not only heavy damage, but the Break effect to Umbris in a single, powerful swing! "Alear, finish this!" Siege yelled as his combat ended.
"I understand." Alear remarked, as she rushed forward and Engaged with Lucina. "I pity you, Umbris. You are nothing but Sombron's perfect child, someone who has no compassion, no mercy, no understanding."
"You mock me, as Queen Lumera's pet. The whimpering, pathetic worm. You are not my sibling and you never will be." Umbris spoke with an acidic tone.
"That's fine. Veyle is my true sibling. You're her shadow." Alear answered back. "And I'll make sure that you will disappear from her life, so that she can live her life anew."
"Oh, she won't be the one living, I will!" Umbris remarked. "No matter how many times you strike at me, the helmet will be powerful enough to keep me standing."
"Then I shall call upon everyone's power!" Alear exclaimed, before she then raised her sword, as it glowed. "As one, everyone!"
Before Umbris could even understand what was going on, she was besieged by the royals that surrounded the entire area, as the massive barrage of attacks were too much for even her own physique, as the helmet began to crack from the impact, before Alear rushed forward for a final blow.
"I am the Divine Dragon Alear, and I order you: Begone from this world!" Alear remarked, before she then flipped into the air, as blue and red streaks followed her body, before she then landed, creating a massive explosion of blue and red.
"I… I…" Umbris growled.
Umbris stumbled back from the defeat, as Marth's ring flew through the air, as Siege caught it in his hands, smiling widely.
"It's over now. You've lost." Siege smiled, handing it to Alear, when, suddenly…
"It is far from over, fool." Sombron's voice boomed as he suddenly appeared in his dragon form, towering over the group. "Umbris, the true sight of what I wanted my child to be… you have done me proud."
"I… have!?" Umbris exclaimed, as her eyes widened in a joyous shock as she got to her feet and laughed.
"Yes… for you have brought all the Emblem Rings to me… all at once… but one remains that keeps me from taking them. Step aside, that I may take care of my biological daughter." Sombron said, glaring right at Veyle.
"With pleasure!" Umbris cackled, before looking at Veyle with evil triumph. "You're dead! Father shall destroy you himself after all!"
"Indeed. After all… I don't need to see any children… that I have no use for." Sombron stated, before firing a powerful dark beam right at Veyle.
"Veyle-" Richard tried to immediately move for a Warp Staff, as Siege was about to move to either protect Veyle or tackle her out of the way, before they heard the sound of snapping fingers, as dark chains bound them both.
"Uh uh uh, can't have you doing that, can we." A familiar voice remarked, as Richard snapped his head to the side to see who spoke, as from the side, was both Echo and Cataclysm.
"You…!" Richard growled.
"I should have known that it wouldn't have been easy to set this piece up." Echo remarked, before he then raised his hand, as there was a massive array of corrupted magic circles around the natives. "Now, if you're smart, you'd stay bound."
"You fools. We're merely making sure history takes it's proper course here. Why don't you see?" Cataclysm would say, as he gestured to a sight that caused Siege and Mirai to widen their eyes.
"What…?" Lumera remarked with horror, as Alear, disregarding the warnings, moved for Veyle.
"ALEAAAAR!" Siege yelled as he helplessly watched as Alear ran to Veyle, full speed.
"Veyle!" Alear yelled in concern before taking the beam full force… and time slowed down after the attack ended, as Siege's eyes widened, watching… helpless…
As Alear's body slumped to the ground… and her blade clattered against the ground…
"NOOOOO!" Siege yelled in agony, his power exploding and breaking the chains as he glared at Cataclysm and Echo. "DAMN YOU!" He yelled, firing powerful beams for them both.
"Well, seems that riled you well up. Of course that is expected." Echo remarked nonchalantly, dodging the beams, as several of them hit some sort of barrier much like the one Sombron used against Richard. "Too bad it's not going to work."
"Twice now have I struck you down." Sombron declared, triumphant over the body of Alear. "Now, with you gone… I No longer need the Otherworld Rings… And I promise you, no amount of sleep will bring you back from this moment. Your death shall seal the final defeat of those who have followed you."
"Alear! Why did you do that!? You can't die!" Veyle remarked. "You're the only Divine Dragon that has the power to keep the Emblem Rings active! My life isn't worth-"
"I… I just wanted to make up for all the times I couldn't protect you…" Alear wheezed. "All the times I wasn't there for you… I'm so sorry, Veyle… if only I could have helped you sooner…"
"I don't care! I don't care about that! Please, don't die!" Veyle shook her head, as tears spilled out of her eyes.
"I'm sorry… but I know… Siege and my child… can keep the fight up… without… me…" Alear answered weakly back. "Please… you must… believe in… them…"
Alear then slumped back, as all strength left her, as her eyes slowly closed.
"Alear? No, you can't… Don't leave me…!" Veyle cried, as she held out the dragonstone in her possession. "But the dragonstone! The dragonstone!"
"Don't you dare die on me!" Siege yelled, holding Alear in his arms now. "I just got over losing you the first time! I lost you a second time with my memories! Don't go… don't make me lose you again!" Siege cried, holding Alear.
As Siege said those words, the dragonstone began to crack severely, although by some divine miracle, it didn't shatter immediately, something that surprised Richard.
"...It didn't break… That must mean…!" Richard remarked.
"It will not matter. She will not be revived, no matter what magics you try. And with all 12 Emblem Rings in my possession, you will never have the chance." Sombron declared.
"We will not hand them to you-" Lumera remarked, before dark energy made her convulse, before the 12 Emblem Rings were surrounded in a dark glow, as they pried themselves from their bearers, and swirled above Sombron's head. .
"Now… now! Together, their power is so great… Granted once every thousand years! And now, that unrivaled power is mine!" Sombron laughed as he grew in size, crashing through the roof of the Castle. "Heed me, Emblem Rings… Grant me infinite power! And let Gradlon… RISE ONCE AGAIN!" Sombron yelled as he flew up, a dark portal opened up, and began to cause a land to rise up from the ocean.
Back in the castle, Siege was holding Alear tight in his hands, trying to get her to open her eyes. "Please… you have to fight… you have to fight for me… for Mirai… you promised you would see the end of this day with me!" Siege exclaimed, crying as he held Alear.
"Gradlon… restored…" Vander remarked with despair.
"This is what you wanted, Sombron… To destroy everything, including your child?" Veyle remarked, looking to Sombron who flew off into the distance, as her eyes were soulless, from witnessing her own sister die before her.
"As much as I would love to finish the job…" Echo remarked, before he then undid the magic array. "I think that both Cataclysm and I have more important matters than to waste fighting you all. And besides, I think that Umbris right here will suffice just enough to do the job for us."
"You're arrogant, if you think-" Richard growled, before he then looked at Umbris, who began to laugh menacingly, as a truly powerful dark aura surrounded her.
"At last… At last…! This is the power that I have been seeking for Father's sake!" Umbris remarked, as her red eyes glowed in the thick dark aura surrounding her. "I wanted to kill the Divine Dragon myself… but since I wanted that defect dead first, I can take pleasure in doing that!"
"Alear… please… for me… open your eyes… please…" Siege spoke in sorrow, holding Alear close as his tears fell.
Umbris then snapped her fingers, as a massive horde of Corrupted began to rise around them, as they were further enhanced by Umbris's newfound power.
"Clean this up for me. Leave no one but the defect alive." Umbris declared. "I will personally make her last moments as agonizing as possible as thanks for daring to undermine me."
"Tch, this doesn't look like a good battle to us…" Morion clicked his tongue. "Even these odds are giving me pause."
"And the Emblem Rings…" Timerra remarked, seeing that the Emblem Rings have fallen, as their luster was gone.
"We shall have the Otherworld Emblem Rings!" Richard remarked. "There's still that ray of hope!"
Suddenly, Siege would pull out Dyrnwyn, and stabbed it into the ground, forming a holy barrier around the group, as both ends were stopped from charging, as Siege's eyes were darkened, looking down at Alear, trying to think of some how… some way… to bring her back… until it dawned on him.
"Some Emblems have simply passed away." Dezna's voice rang out from the past.
Siege suddenly stood up. "No… there's one more hope… we might have one more Emblem on our side." Siege stated, before turning to Lumera. "Lumera! You never gave Alear that ring! Do you have it on you now!?" Siege asked.
"Indeed." Lumera remarked, as she pulled out the dual-coloured ring that she showed Alear and Siege before. "...Are you saying that this could become an Emblem Ring for…!"
"No, that's it!" Richard remarked. "She's still here! She just doesn't have a body! We just need time to recover her spirit and soul, and make her a makeshift Emblem!"
"No. Remember… I can awaken… any. Emblem. Her spirit, soul, and body will return… if this works." Siege remarked, soon standing tall and looking down at his beloved. "...Alear… you were a light for my darkest hour… as I was a light for your fiercest angers. You brought the nations of Elyos together, just as I have brought many people from many worlds together… we both share a similar path… but I cannot exist here without you. None of this would be possible without you… now, I need you by my side, in marriage, in love, and in body! So I call upon you… please… return to us. Connect us, FIRE EMBLEM!" Siege incanted.
At first… nothing happened… but then, a light shone from the ring, as it floated in the air, as it floated over Alear's body, as her spirit and soul suddenly returned to the body, and the dragonstone in Veyle's hand reformed, as Alear suddenly switched from her physical form to the Ethereal form of the Emblems.
"I am Alear, the Emblem that has brought us together!" Alear suddenly proclaimed, Libération in hand as she posed… before her har turned into a complete blue, as Liberation evolved into a much more powerful form.
"Alear…! It's…! It's really you!" Siege exclaimed with joy in his tone as he smiled at his beloved, alive and well again. "Oh… don't you ever do that to me again, damnit!" Siege exclaimed.
"Mom… Mom!" Mirai exclaimed as she ran up to Alear with eyes full of tears to hug her.
"I'm sorry that I had you all worried." Alear remarked. "So all along, that ring that Mother gave us… it was a conduit that was able to give me the powers of an Emblem. And yet, I still feel like I'm still physical flesh."
"That's because you are a miracle, being able to use an Emblem's power with a body." Lumera remarked with a smile. "It was thanks to Siege that we were able to bring you back this way."
"Hate to break up the heartwarming moment, but we got enemies ahead." Richard remarked, pointing at the fallen rings. "We will need to gather up the 12 Emblems once again, in order to be able to fight Sombron. While their combined power is spent, I have a feeling that Alear is the key to reviving those rings, so to speak."
"Right. Someone, take Dezna. I shall carry Alear with me upon my hand. Just in case I need to make her an Emblem to avoid her taking lethal damage for a fourth time." Siege stated, removing Dezna's ring and equipping Alear's ring.
"If I may?" Opherla would ask, wanting Dezna's ring.
"Sure." Siege nodded, handing Opherla Dezna's ring, before Siege brought Dyrnwyn up, and hefted it for combat. "Oooh, man, been a while since I wielded my father's blade… but I think I can still manage. My love… let's do this." Siege said to Alear.
"Always, Siege." Alear nodded.
Victory: Recover all 12 Emblem Rings
Defeat: Siege or Alear fall
Special Condition: Defeat Umbris
PLAYER PHASE
"The nearest rings we can acquire are the Ring of the Young Lion, Ring of the Instructor and the Ring of the Exalt Princess." Richard remarked, gesturing to where the Emblem Rings had fallen. "It is essential that Alear is the one to reach those rings. Perhaps being an Emblem herself will make the process smooth. But perhaps, Lumera herself, with what power she has, could do the same."
"No. We're not risking Lumera's Dragon years reawakening Emblems, Richard." Siege declared. "I shall guide Alear with my life to each and every set of rings."
"Very well." Richard stated. "The Otherworld Emblem bearers should lead the way. While those Corrupted aren't literal demons that can only be defeated by them, Umbris must have powered them up enough so that it would be a truly arduous task, and risks casualties with a reckless attack."
"You heard him. Richard, take charge with Leo. Zendara, you and Zelgius act as the tank. Zephia, Opherla, bombard them from afar with Trunks and Dezna. Nihilister, go wild where you can with Kyo. Lapis, use your and Yuuki's abilities to crush your foes. Mirai, you know what to do with Fjorm. Hortensia, use Mina well, and make sure that everyone is protected, and let her hope radiate through you!" Siege ordered.
"Well, you heard the savior." Richard smiled back. "The rest of you, feel free to join in the attack when you can, but don't risk yourselves. Only attack if we can stagger the opponent, so that their attacks won't end up hurting you worse than you would to them."
With orders given, the group moved according to formation, as to save time, Siege caused Alear to warp by his side as an Emblem so they could move in tandem, and allow Seadall's dancing to grant them farther movements, as while the main force was already making headway in breaking through the corrupted wall, they reached the triage of rings, containing Roy, Byleth, and Lucina.
"Here they are. Do your thing, honey." Siege stated.
"Teach us, Emblem of the Academy. Reignite us, Emblem of Awakening. Rise up, Emblem of Binding." Alear declared, as the trio of Emblems manifested themselves.
"How odd, you have become an Emblem like us… yet your presence remains physical." Byleth remarked with interest in his voice.
"I'm truly surprised that you managed such a miracle. I thought that it was a dire affair." Lucina remarked.
"It doesn't matter! We are ready to fight by your side once again, Divine One!" Roy exclaimed.
"Diamant! Ivy! Marni! Take these!" Siege would exclaim, as Diamant received Roy, Ivy received Byleth, and Marni received Lucina.
"Much appreciated!" Diamant remarked, before then using the Emblem Skill to clear the path to the next set of ring triplets. "Let us continue!"
ENEMY PHASE
"Kill them all! Kill them before they reacquire the Emblem Rings!" Umbris growled, as the entire Corrupted horde advanced forward, with no regards to their own personal safety, throwing weapons and spells at whoever was closest, as the Emblem bearers took the brunt of the attack well, and struck most of them down in retaliation.

"Jean! Framme! Give us a hand!" Siege exclaimed, as the duo of clerics would warp Siege and Alear, as well as Seadall, forward in movement range of the next trio, The Ring of the Sacred Twins, the Ring of the Lady of the Plains, and the Ring of the Crux of Fate, as Siege rushed Alear over to these three rings.
"Here's three more. All yours, my love." Siege stated firmly.
"Bare your fangs, Emblem of Fates. Restore calm, Emblem of the Sacred. Sweep across, Emblem of Blazing." Alear chanted, before the three Emblems manifested themselves.
"I am glad to be back in the fight. Let us persevere against the foe!" Lyn exclaimed.
"It seems that our fight is not over. Let us work together to overcome this ordeal!" Corrin declared.
"Not all is lost… Then that means that we can still win this!" Eirika exclaimed.
"Alcryst! Yunaka! Veyle!" Siege exclaimed, passing Lyn to Alcryst, Corrin to Yunaka, and Eirika to Veyle.
"Thank you, Siege." Veyle remarked, before sliding the ring onto her finger.
As Siege passed the rings onto the others, Lapis immediately began to raise her blade, as she engaged with Yuuki, as a halo of blades appeared behind her.
"Alright, let's do this!" Lapis remarked, before she then rushed forward and performed a variant of Mother's Rosario, as it annihilated the Corrupted, and brought her right into the fold of the Corrupted enemies, although Lapis was bathed in a aura of sakura petals, as she smirked.
Yuuki Engage Skill: Mother's Rosario Restyle - Deals 11 hits at 25% damage, attacking any enemy that is up to three spaces away from the enemy, and teleporting behind any direction of the enemy target. Also grants Swiftfoot for one turn, which halves enemy base Hit rates.
The entire force began to move forward, as they began to create a growing area of safety for Alear and the non-Emblem Bearers, who assisted beside each other to keep each other steady and supporting attacks for the main attackers when they could.
ENEMY PHASE
Corrupted began to flood from the sides of the Temple, as if it was Umbris's ambush, only to be hard-walled by the fact that the Emblem-bearers were near enough to draw their attention.
With Lapis, she was attacked by a horde of Corrupted that tried to chain off each other, only for them to miss, as she was graceful enough to avoid almost every single blow, except for an arrow that grazed her.
"How… How is this possible! I have Father's power, and the Emblems were all left hollowed!" Umbris exclaimed, in disbelief at the turning tides. "It's not possible! IT CANNOT BE POSSIBLE!"
"Oh believe it, alright. We're going to send you right back where you belong." Mokou smugly smirked, before she dodged an enemy brawler, to which she sent flying with a powerful strike.
"Which is the deepest pits of HELL!" Siege yelled in defiance, him and Alear striking down the Corrupted that tried to hit them.
PLAYER PHASE
Another warp of Seadall and the two betrothed heroes, and they were at the next trio of Emblem Rings, The Ring of the Sage Lord, the Ring of the Dawn Maiden, and the Ring of the Radiant Hero.
"Here we are, three more!" Siege told Alear.
"Lead us, Emblem of Genealogy. Fight on, Emblem of Radiance. Heal us, Emblem of Dawn!" Alear declared, as the three Emblems manifested themselves.
"So Sombron has yet to win." Leif stated. "And you have managed to fight this far to reach us. Then allow me to lend you my strength once more!"
"It's unfit for a mercenary, much less a hero, to leave his duty unfinished." Ike remarked. "Let's go."
"You are all alive. I'm truly glad that we are all here to fight against evil itself." Micaiah stated. "Let us forge on!"
"Geina! Timerra! Pandreo!" Siege exclaimed, Leif going to Geina, Ike going to Timerra, and Micaiah to Pandreo.
"Thank you for your kindness, Radiant Saviour." Pandreo thanked Siege.
Siege looked ahead, melancholy on his face as he saw the remaining three Emblem Rings. "The ones who started it all… Marth… Sigurd… Celica… we're coming!" Siege exclaimed. "Then after that… we finish Umbris. Once… and for all!" Siege added.
And further yet the group pushed, striking down enemies further on, though an archer threatened to strike down Zephia in a counter blow, only for Mirai to jump in the way of the arrow, taking it as she growled in pain.
"Zephia, you alright…!?" Mirai asked, pulling the arrow out of her shoulder.
"I'm fine." Zephia answered back, before she then noticed that the archer was open for a counterattack. "And I'm prepared for retribution of my own."
Zephia then raised her ring, as her hair turned golden with her eyes, with a golden spiral-like halo behind her back, as Trunks and Mai appeared at her side.
"Let's do this!" Trunks exclaimed as he and Mai nodded at Zephia, as Trunks and Zephia dashed forward, and Mai shot a distracting blast at the corrupted, not dealing much damage, but inflicting Break status which allowed Trunks and Zephia to combination strike the Corrupted with Z-Swords in hand, before Trunks charged up his father's own move.
"How's this!? FINAL FLASH!" Trunks yelled, Zephia following it with Thoron, the two beams carving through the Corrupted with ease, and even hitting the nearby Corrupted, as the force was strong enough to destroy them.
Trunks Engage Skill: Future Salvation Combination - First Attack deals 0-3 damage, but has a high hit rate. If hit, the opponent gets inflicted with Break! Status. Afterwards, deals 2 strikes with a damage boost of 100% Atk. Hits all enemies in a line of 5 tiles, and if any enemy's HP from the line would be reduced to 0, enemies in that line are defeated.
ENEMY PHASE
More Corrupted rushed from behind Umbris, in order to protect their mistress, while the rest began to rush forwards, as the group began to cut them down by the dozen.
"So gonna crush you!" Timerra exclaimed, before using her own spear as a make-shift pole to swing around and disorient the Corrupted that tried to attack her with a spinning kick, before then thrusting it right through the chest of the Corrupted, causing it to fade apart.
"How… how… HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!?" Umbris screamed in fury. "You were all supposed to wail and die in despair! You were all supposed to suffer! How do you continue to fight like this!?"
"Because we have hope! Hope prevails over all darkness and evil!" Siege exclaimed. "By now, you should have realized that, Umbris!"
"Silence! I can still defeat you! You and that imposter!" Umbris remarked, as her tone and expression became more and more unhinged. "I cannot lose. I will not lose! I WILL NOT!"
PLAYER PHASE
One more warp and Siege and Alear were before the final three rings.
"This is it… our closest and most trusted allies… All yours, my beloved." Siege spoke to Alear with a smile. "Time to wake Marth, Sigurd, and Celica up once more."
"That's right…" Alear remarked, before clasping the Emblem Rings in her hands. "Provide for us, Emblem of the Holy War. Care for us, Emblem of Echoes. Shine on, Emblem of Beginnings."
The three Emblems then manifested themselves, as Marth and Sigurd looked towards Alear and Lumera respectively.
"It seems that we have gathered once more." Celica remarked. "I am truly glad that you have brought us back to fight against the Fell Dragon. For the sake of everyone, we must prevail!"
"Queen Lumera, my apologies for being powerless." Sigurd remarked. "I did not expect that the Fell Dragon would have made such a convoluted attempt to deny you from our powers."
"But worry not, we have managed to bring you forth again." Lumera remarked, before summoning Sigurd's Emblem Ring to her finger. "I will not lose you a third time, that I swear."
"Griss, you wanna take a spin with Celica again?" Siege asked.
"Sure, don't see the harm!" Griss laughed. "Come on, Celica, let's fight again, this time on the right side, shall we?"
"In the end, I knew that you would have been able to find a way to surpass your own limits and bring us forth once more." Marth declared, before a smile appeared on his lips. "I'm truly proud of what you have become, and I believe that Queen Lumera has as well. You are the intermediary between mortals and Emblems, and I believe that this power of yours shall inspire great hope."
"Thank you, Marth." Alear answered back. "It's a shame that I can't wear you and borrow your powers, now that I have become part Emblem for the time being… but I believe that your power is best lent to-"
"Hang on, Alear." Siege would say, before sliding Marth's ring upon his other ring finger. "Who says one can't wield two Emblems?" Siege quipped, as Marth and Alear now were both at Siege's side. "With you, and Marth, I feel power I've never felt before… a power strong enough, I believe we can fell our enemy in one strike!"
"Then as one it shall be." Alear remarked, as she crossed blades with Marth, who did the same. "Marth, I'm counting on your strength to help Siege."
"I would give no less." Marth declared with absolute devotion in his voice.
New Emblem Skill! Azure-Crimson Lodestar Slash - Attacks opponent 16 times, using 10% of damage, dealing over-damage to remaining health bars Treats foe's Def/Res as if reduced to 0. Heals Emblem Bearer by 50% of damage dealt.
Seadall would dance for Siege, as Siege looked to Richard. "Richard. Send me to Umbris. I'm finishing this fight. Here and now."
"As you wish." Richard remarked, before summoning a Warp Staff, as it transported Siege right before Veyle, who drew a mockery of Falchion for herself, a dark mimicry of the legendary weapon.
"If you think that newfound power of yours will defeat me, you're foolish!" Umbris roared, as her aura manifested far stronger than before. "With Father's power, I am invincible! No matter what Emblems you throw at me, I will survive it."
"Then what about two?" Siege smirked, before he then began to charge his power, and raised his ring, as he took an entirely new Emblem Form, as his hair was completely divine blue, while his eyes were a mix of blue and brown, and behind him were a pair of divine swords, a red Falchion, and a blue Liberation, with a glowing red and blue halo behind him, in the form of a runic circle with a familiar sword symbol in the center of it, in blue and red as well, as the power of the dual-Engage was powerful enough to shake the foundation of the Temple.
"What do you think, Umbris?" Siege quipped as his voice exuded power. "This is the result of a bearer of two Emblems!"
"Impossible, not even Divine or Fell Dragons can be able to bear the burden of two Emblems!" Umbris exclaimed, as fear began to creep into her body, despite the enhancements of the helmet trying to purge it from her head. "What are you… WHAT ARE YOU!?"
"Didn't you call me what I am? Let me remind you. I'm the warrior of another world, sent here by Lady Magina to bring this world to its salvation. I am a Saiyan, an elite warrior race from another planet, who fights for all planets and universes! I am the light of the future, the one who pushes onwards even in the darkest of moments! I, am Siege Sukui! And I am not a Divine Dragon, or a Fell Dragon… For I am… THE RADIANT SAVIOR!" Siege declared with authority, raising Ragnell-Yato high, as Alear and Marth would connect their blades with Siege, before the trio rushed forward, and began slashing Umbris with their weapons, as blood was beginning to fly during the latter slashes, as the trio raised their swords high, before slashing down, as a red, blue, and golden slash wave all shot for Umbris, cutting through her one more time, as her clothes were shredded, and her helmet was shattered from the attack, causing her to fly backwards and collapse onto the ground.
"I am… I am…" Umbris muttered, before she then convulsed violently, before dark energy exploded from her orifices, with a mighty scream of agony, before her entire body faded away into purple particles that were scattered by the wind, before some of them entered Veyle herself, as Veyle winced slightly, before a similar pulse appeared from her, although instead of feeling oppressive, the sensation of her newfound felt warm and familiar.
Magina, wondering about this, would soon decide to take a peek and see just what internal conversation the two would have.
"So this is what I have lost…" Veyle remarked, flexing her fingers, as Fell Dragon energy sparked from it. "...I don't feel like a defect, but like as if I was a true Fell Dragon. Is this… what Alear brought about within me, the strength to bear my power for the sake of good?"
Inside her mind, as Magina looked, Umbris could be seen weakened and kneeling, as she glared up at Veyle.
"...Are you… are you satisfied?" Umbris growled. "All I wanted… all I ever wanted… was father… to be proud of me… and… he was… but… but now… all he'll do… all he'll do…" Umbris sobbed, true agony and pain in her tone.
Veyle looked at her darker side with a sense of sympathy, before she then walked over, and knelt before Umbris as well.
"I wished that things could have ended differently." Veyle remarked softly. "But we both know that Father never truly cared for us. You wanted to make him proud, while I wanted to tear myself away from what he represents. I never could truly hate my father. I just don't understand why he had to do such horrible things… And why you were created to replace me."
"Because he didn't want someone as weak and defective as you." Umbris growled. "All this power, and you choose to let it linger, just because you think that it's worth it to be at peace. There is no peace. It's either you get rid of them, or they get rid of us, there is no other way."
"But there is peace and people can learn to forgive sins of the past." Veyle answered back. "The Hounds did terrible things, and they chose to atone for themselves, because they wanted to live fulfilling lives. At first, I too believed that they swapped sides due to an urge to live, but when things went on, I learned that there are many things that make someone bad. Marni had a terrible childhood, Griss didn't know any pleasure beside the feeling of pain, Zephia was isolated because she was born with abnormal powers, and Mauvier… he simply wished for someone worthy to serve. All of them understood that there was a better way to go about things, and they chose to take it, because they believed that there could be reconciliation."
"So then what… what do you see in me…" Umbris growled as she looked at Veyle. "Surely, your naive, innocent, disgusting peaceable mind, sees some sort of redeeming quality for me. Well I'm sorry to tell you, I won't be swayed so-"
"It's simple… you embody what I really wanted from Father… anything to earn his compassion and love." Veyle would state. "My internal desire for acceptance, not much different ro Marni itself."
"Nnh-!?" Umbris' eyes widened as she heard this, stunned at how plainly Veyle spoke those words… before her eyes closed. "...It's too late for me now anyways… what little praise I got from Father… It was a good moment… but now… here I am… stuck… as your draconic blood once again… only this time there's no hope for me… as soon as this conversation ends, your kindness shall blot me out… and I'll be dead." Umbris stated with melancholy.
"Then be one with me again." Veyle remarked, offering a hand out. "I know that you might think that it is naive, but I believe that I can keep a part of you in me by doing this. You might not be self-aware as you are now, but you will be there, and when you see through my own eyes and soul, you'll see that there are other beautiful things out there, that could help to soothe the aching need for Father's affection. I might not be able to guarantee that it would be truly what you seek, but it must be truly better than fading away into nothing, right? After all, you are my own desire, and I am your own ideals."
Umbris looked at the hand, before she then began to chuckle gently, as it turned into a few choked sobs, before she then went silent for a moment, as Veyle worried that Umbris would let herself go.
However, Umbris then took the hand, as she rose her head, as Veyle could see the genuine gratefulness and melancholy in her face, as there was a true smile on it.
"To think… That you are so kind, you even would do all this for me…" Umbris said with a melancholic tone. "I don't deserve this redemption, yet you offer it as if you were a Messiah or a savior… you may be kind and naive… But perhaps those are your most redeeming qualities… So very well. Let's see if you can keep me alive through the desires you have… I'm curious to see how far we make it. Together."
"That's right. And I will accept you for everything you represent." Veyle smiled back. "I will not hide away from my own nature. If being selfish is a sin, then I accept that I am truly guilty for harboring such feelings for Siege, for Mirai, and for my sister as well."
Umbris smirked, before she then faded into Veyle, as Veyle's eyes grew a shade of red from her violet, while several of her feathered crowns gained a red streak to them.
"Rest well, Umbris." Veyle silently prayed, as Magina withdrew from the mind, as Alear and Richard rushed over to Veyle.
"Are you alright, are you feeling-" Alear frantically asked, before Veyle lifted her hand.
"Don't worry. I'm alright now." Veyle smiled back. "I managed to convince Umbris to become one with me. I might become a bit selfish as a result of regaining those draconic instincts of mine, but I'm still the same Veyle that you have been fighting with this entire time, the same Veyle that everyone cared for."
"That's… Well, that's something better than I expected." Richard remarked, with a smile. "And with that enlightenment, you must have gotten quite a fair bit stronger, taking some of dear daddy's power from Umbris's fading embers."
"Indeed, but she still lives on in me. She simply no longer has a voice or consciousness for now." Veyle nodded.
"I have to wonder if she might come out if you need to vent your anger… I know a darker side of me comes out at times when I do." Siege pondered.
"Who knows?" Veyle smiled back, as if she was curious herself.
"Glad to see that everything has ended well." Alfred remarked, as the entire group rushed to their vicinity.
"Don't even think about dying again! You hear me?" Timerra pouted, poking Alear's collar with a finger.
"It would be truly horrifying to lose you again." Framme remarked, as there was a sad expression on her face.
"We all hoped for you to come through… and it seems that a force beyond the Goddess herself granted it." Ivy remarked. "And it has granted us the strength to fight Sombron once again, from the immense power brought forth."
"Can't believe you become an Emblem!" Morion laughed heartily. "At this rate, it's going to be a real surprise when the people learn that the new Divine One is an Emblem herself, with powers to shake Elyos a few times over!"
"I promise you, I will not fall to death ever again." Alear firmly declared, hand over chest. "I am with you all, all the way to the end."
"And I'll do the same for you, sister." Veyle smiled back.
Before they could continue, the entire temple began to rumble, as the group looked above, seeing that there was a large purple portal in the skies, as Gradlon surrounded Lythos.
"It seems that Sombron has continued on his plans." Richard remarked. "If I can hazard a guess, Sombron will use that portal to reach into other worlds, and with the power he has… most other worlds will stand no chance against the likes of him, and his horde."
"And that's not to mention that Cataclysm and Echo are still following his lead." Geina growled. "He certainly would expect that we would waste time trying to win this fight against his 'dear' daughter, enough to finish his plans."
"There is also a barrier protecting the portal." Magina informed the group. "Unfortunately, Sombron, with the help of Echo, made it an extremely complex magic formation. One mistake will collapse the portal, and thus our only means to pursue Sombron. I cannot risk such a task merely to save time. So that leaves destroying the power sources."
"I can sense with my powers where the Fell Dragon Shards are sustaining this barrier." Veyle declared. "From my first attempt to sense them, I found three sources. Perhaps there might be more, but I doubt it."
"And there is one Fell Dragon Shard that will require my help, if I clearly remember where Sombron placed it." Zephia declared.
"Something tells me it's going to be detrimental to you…" Siege remarked, looking at Zephia in concern. "I won't have you needlessly sacrificing yourself like that, alright?"
"Hopefully, if it comes to that, I will ask for help." Zephia answered back. "After all, I don't intend to throw my life away for nothing."
"Good. Then let's go for the first one we can currently get to. Veyle, lead the way." Siege stated, as they headed off.
