The two stood there awkwardly for a few minutes. Lonzo spoke first.

"…. Grandma?"

"I found your Riolu, he just showed up."

"Wait…What?" Lonzo asked, then he realized that he kept on running for an hour to Pallet Town and found Delia. "Dude…. How?" Leo asked.

"I don't know…Then he knocked on my door and that's how I found him." she said, Lonzo nodded. Riolu stood in front of his trainer. Lonzo stood there in silence, but he knelt down to his level, stretched his arms out and smiled. Riolu ran to Lonzo then hugged him. Lonzo smiled and wrapped his arms around him.

"Thank you so much, is there anything I can do to repay you for this?" Delia shook her head. "No need to. By the way." She started. "How did you find him?"

"Ezra and I were going to my apartment yesterday, we herd something in the park and went to check it out, I saw these…" Lonzo stopped for a second to collect himself, even mentioning what had happened gets him mad.

He continues "So called ''trainers'' abusing their Pokémon. I almost punched the guy trainer, I should've done it, to be honest." Lonzo clenched his fists, he wants to find these people and teach them a lesson that they will never forget.

Delia smiled.

Just like Ash. Lonzo looked around, then he looked back at her. "Um… I don't want you to drive all the way back to Pallet Town, do you want to stay with me?" Lonzo asked. Delia smiled. "I would like that, Lonzo. Let's go." They both went to his apartment.

The next day, Lonzo was playing Grand Theft Auto V. He was catching Pokémon in Los Santos. He paused the game and got off his gaming PC and walked out of his room, Delia was in the living room, reading.

"Hi, Lonzo. Where are you off to?" she asked, as he was grabbing his Jordan's. He looked at her. "I'm going to play some basketball, you wanna come?" He asked, Riolu stood next to the boy, waiting for his trainer.

"Sure, can I play?"

"You play?"

Delia shook her head. "You can teach me how to."

"Okay, But I think you'll pick it up after I demonstrate it to you."

Delia nodded, put the book down and got off the couch, so they could go to the park together.

They walked through the lobby, Muhammad was sitting at his desk and he smiled. "Lonzo!"

"Hey! what's up?" he asked, walking over towards the desk.

"I heard what happened. Riolu had a rough night staying with you."

He smiled and rubbed the back of his neck. He could've seen it from the security cameras." He did… But I got him back, my grandma actually drove him back, I don't know how she found out that he was my Pokémon. But. I'm happy that I have him."

He smiled and nodded. When I was back in my hometown, My Shinx ran away from me too."

Lonzo didn't want to come off as rude but he knew him for three years since he started working here. But he had to ask.

"Where did you grow up?"

"I grew up in Dahara City. Two years ago, I moved down to Kanto."

"Oh, did you work in an apartment complex too?" Muhammad shook his head. "No, I was actually a real estate agent. But, I decided to move to Vermillion City and start over."

"Ohhhh, okay, then you came here and started working here for the past two years."

He nodded. "And I am a huge fan of your dad. When we met, he took the time to talk to me. Most genuine human being I've ever met."

Lonzo smiled, Muhammad's Shinx climbed up on the table, Lonzo put a hand on his back and petted his soft fur, the Flash Pokémon cooed as he rubbed his body on his chest. He laughed, the man smiled. He smiled and pet him, he took his hand off his back, signaling that he was leaving.

"Bye, it was nice talking to you, Muhammad!" Lonzo smiled, he, Riolu and Delia all left.

The park was half packed today, with trainers battling on the battlefields, kids playing in the playground, Lonzo and Delia were walking to the court. Lonzo was bouncing his basketball up and down as Riolu walked next to his trainer. He walked to the court.

Lonzo bounced the ball twice. Delia saw him facing her.

"You ready?"

She nodded.

"Okay." he said, walking to the basket, Delia watched him as he taught him how to play.

"Now you got it? Show me what you got." He said. Delia ran while bouncing the ball, Lonzo tried to block her, but she moved around him and shot a three. She made the three. Lonzo was impressed, very impressed by that. She passed the ball towards him and he caught it. Lonzo was stunned for words, the only words the came out was;

"Did you play before?" he asked.

"No, why?"

"You're good!" he told her, Delia just smiled at that.

Lonzo bounced the ball then he saw a girl rollerblading by. The girl had short/long blonde hair, blue eyes, she wore a black Blink-182 T-Shirt. on her head was a beanie, on the beanie were two Xs and a frowny face. Lonzo thinks she might be from here.

Lonzo walked over to her, the girl stopped, Lonzo tried to make some small talk. "Hi, I'm Lonzo from Vermilion City! What's your name?"

"Casey." the girl said, staring at him. Lonzo looked at her and saw that the girl had a silver, glittery KeyStone around her neck. "Hey, Casey. wanna hang out?" He asked, bouncing his basketball.

"Sure. Let me text my father." She said, taking out her Rotom Phone.

"Oh, where is he?"

"He's at a convention in Vermillion." She said, He nodded, Delia walked over. "Oh, who's your new friend, Lonzo?"

"This is Casey, Casey. This is my grandmother, Delia Ketchum."

"Wait, Ketchum? as in Ash Ketchum?" she asked.

"Um…" Lonzo said, confused. "Yeah, why?"

"No way, dude! I've been a fan of your father's battling style since forever! I watched all of his battles."

"Cool! Are you going to watch his battle tonight?" Lonzo asked.

"Yeah. I am, hey. Wanna hang out?" She asked. "Sure," he said.

Casey and Lonzo were now in Vermillion City, Casey was rollerblading, and Lonzo was walking.

"So, Lonzo. what's there to do here?" She asked, checking her phone. Lonzo noticed that she didn't have a Rotom Phone. "Hey." he said, Casey turned toward her friend. "What's up?"

"Why don't you have a Rotom Phone?"

"I have a phone. Why?"

Lonzo got an idea. "I know! why won't we go to Professor Cerise's lab and get you a Rotom?"

Casey thought of it for a second. Lonzo wasn't wrong, it will help her instead of carrying around a Poké Dex on her journey. Then Casey went for it.

"Yeah, I'd like that, let's go to his lab." Casey said Lonzo and Casey went to Professor Cerise's lab in Vermillion City.

Once they got there, both trainers went up the stairs that lead inside. Lonzo knocked on the door and a woman wearing a braid walked out. "Hey, Chloe." Lonzo waved. Chloe waves back. "Hey Lonzo, how can I help you?"

"Well, my friend wants to upgrade her phone, can you help us?" Lonzo asked. Chloe nodded and took them inside, her father's Yamper has evolved into Boltund, Boltund is a quadrupedal, canine Pokémon. Its two front paws are white with a yellow stripe on each leg above the white part, which leads to its desaturated green legs. Its back two back paws are a darker yellow with a lighter yellow on top of it that also leads to desaturated green legs.

"Hey, your father's Yamper evolved!" Lonzo said, as he reached to scratch behind his ear. Chloie smiled as she nodded. "Yeah, let's go.'' They both went into a room, Professor Cerise looked over and saw the boy.

"Hey, Lonzo!" he said. Lonzo smiled and waved. Casey also waved at the man. "What are you here for today?" Cerise asked. Lonzo explained it to him, The Pokémon professor smiled and nodded. "Alright Casey, give me your phone." he said, Casey handed it to the man, as an orange pure electric type Pokémon went into her phone.

Lonzo smiles as she is amazed by this. Professor Cerise gave Casey her phone back. "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you. I go by they/them." they said, Lonzo nodded his head. "So, what do you want to do now?" Casey said.

"I don't know. Um…. We can go back to the park, then we go back to my apartment to watch my dad battle."

Casey nodded, they'd like that.

Lonzo and Casey went towards Lonzo's apartment building and walked inside.
