Ben looked around for the sense of blood lust that he just felt. He didn't have to wait long because the person who released it came out of hiding. It's a black haired man in a suit of armor with the words 'Absolute Zero' carved into it.
"Who are you?" Ben demanded.
"You don't need to know who I am, you demon worshiper. Just know that this will be your last day." The man said with hatred in his voice.
Suddenly the ground where the man was standing froze, and strangely the ice was purple. Then the purple ice spread at high speed in every direction. It almost froze the giants, but suddenly the ice stops spreading and the already frozen area started to melt.
"The bluish ice became purple when it mixed with a red color. Red colored magic with a familiar feeling, a Devil Slayer." Ben said while releasing strong heat that canceled the freezing.
The man was surprised to see someone easily overpower his magic. He can even feel his body becoming hotter because Ben points his head at him. So now he used Ice Magic to cool his body down.
"This is the first time I've met another Devil Slayer. To think you would attack us out of the blue. What is your goal, Ice Devil Slayer?" Ben said as he walked towards the man.
Ben used his Gravity Magic as he approached the man. Every time he takes a step, Ben increases the gravity on the man. As Ben got closer, the man feels more pressure and falls to his knees. Then when Ben was right in front of him, the man's body slumped to the ground.
Ben crouched down in front of the man.
"I am not someone that will take provocation easily. You almost killed these people and hurt the woman I love. So I won't hesitate to kill you, but I am not that barbaric. Let me hear your reason, old man. Don't try to deceive me because you won't be able to handle the consequences." He said.
After saying that, Ben releases the gravity on the man. Then chains made out of solar energy come out of his body and wrap the man up. It doesn't feel hot, but the man's magic is suppressed because of the strong magic power in the chains.
The man knows he can't do anything now, so he decides to talk. "I just did my job as a Devil Slayer. What's wrong with a Devil Slayer trying to slay a demon?"
This wasn't the answer Ben expected, so he was stunned. The man wasn't lying though, so he must've really wanted to slay a demon. Ben looks around and tries to find the demon that the man was referring to, but he can't find it even with his enhanced senses.
"Where is the demon? Are you sure there is one here? I can't see or sense any. Ah, if you're referring to Mira, then I will definitely kill you. She uses Take Over Magic which allows her to transform into a demon. She isn't the demon itself, but her beauty is indeed like that of a succubus." Ben said before being hit in the head by an embarrassed Mira.
"Humph, look at you, feigning ignorance. As expected of a demon worshiper. Although it's quite surprising that you didn't introduce the demon you worship." The man smirked even though he was in a hopeless situation.
Everyone there was confused with the man's statements. Then they look at the Eternal Flame and realize what he meant. He must've mistaken the Eternal Flame to be a demon and it caused Ben to laugh.
"BWAHAHAHA. OI ATLAS, HE THINKS YOU ARE A DEMON." Ben said, laughing at the hilarious situation.
Atlas Flame became angry.
"ARGH, HUMAN. HOW DARE YOU CONSIDER ME TO BE A DEMON? MY BODY MIGHT HAVE PERISHED, LEAVING MY SOUL BEHIND BUT I AM A PROUD FIRE DRAGON, ATLAS FLAME."
Atlas Flame's fire became bigger and the giants were frightened, so Ben calmed him down while still giggling.
"Oi, old man, this massive campfire isn't a demon, it's the soul of a dragon. Like he said, his body died and only his soul is left. That's why he doesn't look like a dragon." Ben said.
The man wasn't convinced, so Ben said something else.
"Is it that difficult to believe that a soul can exist and has a physical appearance like this? Well, it doesn't matter if you believe me or not. It's not like you have any choice. And don't forget, you almost killed everyone here." Ben coldly said.
Ben stood in front of the man and sent a vertical kick enhanced by magic to the man's body. The kick caused the man to cough out air before sending the man flying into the sky. Sometime later, he fell and Ben lightly punched him to stop his momentum so the ground won't break from the impact.
The man coughed up a lot of blood and Ben let him fall to the ground. Ben grabbed his hair and pulled him up before tying him up with the solar energy chains again. Ben only used his Dragon Slayer Magic because it was more than enough to suppress this guy.
"Consider that payback for what you did earlier. I didn't kill you because I'm not someone who kills anyone because they piss me off. Now let's have a talk, a real talk. First, let's introduce ourselves. My name is Ben Cooper, a Wizard Saint. You can look it up later if you think I'm lying. There's no reason for me to lie." Ben said.
The guy was surprised to hear that he is a Wizard Saint. Now he knew why Ben was able to suppress him so easily. He then looked at Atlas Flame and sighed before apologizing.
"I'm sorry for my previous action." The man said.
"It seems you finally believe after finding out who I am." Ben said with a smile because the man's hostility had disappeared.
He released the man and asked for his name.
"My name is Silver, also known as 'Absolute Zero'. As you already mentioned, I am a Ice Devil Slayer. I'm roaming around to slay demons. Also, I'm sorry, but I'm only allowed to say that much." Silver said with a tone full of hatred.
Ben can guess that he must have a bad history with demons. However, he cannot allow him to kill demons indiscriminately. Just like humans, demons have personalities and not all of them are evil like people assume.
That's why Ben explained it to Silver even though the man might not listen. Ben had met a lot of demons and he even befriended one during his year long journey. He doesn't have a obligation to protect demons, but he can't allow them to be killed because they are still people.
"Well, if you're hell bent on slaying demons, I would suggest slaying Etherious, demons from the Book of Zeref. I can confirm they're all evil. They were created to kill the Black Wizard, Zeref, but they also worship him. They are comprised of negative emotions, so they only have evil intentions in mind." Ben advised.
"How do you know that?" Silver asked.
"Because I've slain my fair share of Etherious over the last ten years. Most of them were low-ranked ones that can't even think and only rely on instincts like beasts. The only Etherious that can think and talk like people that I fought are an eyeball Etherious named Mreye, a black one with a name I can't remember and a gigantic ape-like one named Deliora." Ben answered.
Silver's eyes widened when Deliora was mentioned and immediately asked about it's whereabouts. Ben told Silver that Deliora is dead because he killed it personally. Silver was happy that Deliora was dead but disappointed because he wanted to kill it himself.
"Thanks for killing that bastard. I wanted to do it myself, but I guess this is good enough for my revenge." Silver said.
"What are you going to do now that Deliora is dead?" Ben asked.
"I will still hunt demons. But I'll follow your advice and only hunt the evil ones, especially Etherious." Silver said.
Silver then walked away after vowing that he won't attack Sun Village or it's inhabitants. Violating this will subject him to pain worse than death. Ben is glad that he made his vow.
