"Henry, see what you can make of that, please." Dr. Magnus said, as she prepared a slide of Xander's blood. She wanted to see if she could see this quickening as he called it in his blood sample. Bigfoot entered the medical bay and asked if there was anything he could help with.

"On it." Henry said taking the control device from Xander.

"Please try to keep it in one piece. I know what geniuses are capable of when trying to solve a puzzle. And what is he?" Xander asked, tilting his head toward Bigfoot.

"He and his people are the source of the Bigfoot legend, which is why his nickname is Biggy. He refused to leave after Magnus took some bullets out of him. A hunter. He does everything from being the butler to helping with surgery. He may talk and move slow, but he is certainly not brain slow." Henry answered, before heading back to his tech space.

"Magnus wants me to show you to a room." Bigfoot said a few minutes later as he approached Xander and Cordelia.

"Thanks. It's only been a week since we started and we had a good night sleep last night, but I feel exhausted." Cordelia said.

"Supper will be ready in a couple of hours. Anything I should avoid making?"

"Anything pig related. I got mad at a racist cop recently and threatened to eat him." Xander replied.

"Because pig is an insult for cops?" Bigfoot asked.

"No, because he's what's known as a Bauershwein. An offshoot of humanity that actually looks like a pig. He and his buddies had kidnapped a Blutbad and were planning to kill him. His 'crime' as far as they were concerned, was falling in love with someone outside his bloodline. Blutbads are a kind of werewolf, the woman he fell in love with was a Fuchsbau, kinda like a werefox, adorable in her animal form and pretty in her human form. Anyway, I'm not going to feel like pig for awhile."

"Don't blame you. I'm a vegetarian myself." Bigfoot replied and led them to a bedroom.

"This place is huge." Cordelia commented once they were in the room and Xander was pulling their suitcases out of the dimensional pocket. "I'm going to take a shower. I really do feel exhausted. Barely a week and so much has happened."

"Don't blame you. I think I'll take a nap myself." Xander agreed.

A couple hours later Bigfoot returned to collect them for dinner. A very nice lasagna which Xander very happily devoured. Once supper was done Magnus took them to Henry's workspace.

"What did you do to the control device!" Xander demanded when he saw it had been taken apart.

"I had to use a magnafier to find a seam on it. It was that fine. I didn't have a tool small enough to open it. Once I did get it opened, I discovered it's crystal based technology and far more advanced then anything we've ever come up with. One of the crystals was cracked. I used an epoxy resin under UV light to repair it. It should hold. It won't take long to get it back together again, but the case is going to need a bonding agent as well. Super glue should work for that. Both will need 24 hours to fully cure."

"So we'll be here overnight. Well, I appreciate your efforts. It was either the stun gun or dropping it or the combination that caused it. Just be careful okay, it's the only one we have. Our parents probably won't be happy if we lose it and they have to come and find us. I guarantee you won't be happy if they decide you're the reason we don't have it. Just saying. Both kind of have reputations for extremes when they're unhappy." Xander told him.

"I'll be careful. It's fascinating though. We've speculated about crystal based technology and I know companies that are working on it, but we're not quite there. Liquid crystal is where we're at right now. And this is way beyond anything we could currently come up with anyway. The repair I was able to do is the best I think we could manage."

"If you want, you can spend some time in the library or the media room. Or we have extension grounds, you could go for a walk." Magnus told them. "We all live on site and what downtime we have is for relaxing anyway. I'm not sure going into town right now is a good idea for you."

"I don't either." Cordelia said. "And for some reason I feel really tired. I mean it has been a busy week and this the fifth reality we've been to this week and if it all works out, the next one is the last one, but it's still been alot."

"Yeah, let's just go back to our room and call it a night." Xander agreed. "We'll see you all in the morning."

They left Henry and Magnus talking and headed back to their room, hopeful that this journey would soon be done.
