Swirl Up a Storm and Chazz It Up!
Today was another day of Duel Academy, and everyone was currently at the main arena. There were two people standing on the platform, shuffling each others' decks. One of them was a boy with messy dark-green hair reaching his shoulders and grey eyes. He was wearing a Slifer Red jacket over a white t-shirt, black shorts, and sandals. This was Nathan Aichi, the water duelist.
The other person was a tall Obelisk Blue girl with blonde hair that went down to the middle of her back and blue eyes. And she was a rather elegant girl with a mid C to High C cup rack and shapely legs.
"I never thought I'd get to have one of the first official duels of the year." Nathan admitted. "I sure hope you'll make this exciting."
The girl smiled kindly. "And I hope you won't go easy on me."
"Oh, I wouldn't dream of it."
Meanwhile, Jaden, Syrus, Andrew, Alexis and Jenny were running through the hallways, hurrying to the arena.
"We're gonna be late for the two official duels of the year!" Jaden claimed.
"How come I never see you running this fast when you're late for a class?" Syrus asked.
"Because he saves his energy for sprinting out of class." Andrew answered.
"No kidding." Alexis added. "It's a wonder he's named a top ranking duelist on the field."
"Well, he does have the dueling skills that make up for his grades." Jenny stated.
"Bonjour! I'm sure by now you all know moi!" Bonaparte said, speaking into a microphone. Standing next to him was Professor Miller.
The five Academy students arrived just in time to see Nathan take his position on the field, facing a new Obelisk Blue. "Who's the short fat bald guy?" Syrus wondered.
"For those who don't, I'm your Vice-Chancellor Jean Louis Bonaparte!" He introduced as the red clad man took the microphone from him.
"And I'm the new headmaster of Slifer Red, Paul Miller!" He announced. "And I'm so proud to know that two of these fine students have a chance to get promoted!" He pointed to Nathan's side, where a certain black clad Slifer was watching this behind him. "First up is Nathan Aichi, who will be promoted to Ra Yellow of he wins. And after him will be Chazz Princeton, who is a former Obelisk Blue in his own right and will come back to their dorm if he wins!"
"So Nathan gets a chance to become a Ra? And Chazz gets to return to Obelisk Blue? That is so wicked!" Jaden said with a grin.
"Yeah, Nathan is one thing. But Chazz?" Syrus questioned. "I think you should have been in one of those matches, Jaden."
"I have to agree on that one." Andrew nodded. "Who in the right mind would have picked Chazz?"
"That would be me."
The five students were approached by the Obelisk Blue headmaster.
"Dr. Crowler?" Jenny blinked.
"It's Chancellor Crowler now." He corrected her. "And there's a reason I chose Chazz for one of these duels. Quite a brilliant reason, in fact."
"Somehow, I doubt that." Alexis muttered.
"What was that?" Crowler glared. "Do you slackers know who this year's freshman class? Duelist league all-star, Aster Phoenix!"
"He enrolled here?" Jenny asked.
"As a student?" Andrew asked.
"So, where is he?" Jaden wondered.
"Well that's just it!" Crowler chewed as his handkerchief. "For some reason, he never showed up!"
Flashback
"He loves Duel Academy. He loves us not." Crowler mumbled as he sat on the floor of his office, playing with the petals of an orange flower, plucking them out. "He love Duel Academy. He loves us not. He loves Duel Academy. He loves us..."
"I've been looking everywhere for you!" Bonaparte yelled as he entered the office.
"I needed some 'me time'! Is that alright with you?!" Crowler hollered.
"Why? So you could torture flowers?"
"No, so I can deal with the Aster problem." He replied, glancing briefly at a poster of Aster on the wall before sighing. "What did I do to make him hate us?" He then continued to pluck flower petals. "He hates our school. He hates us not. He hates our school. He hates us not. Ah! He hates us!" He said when he plucked the final petal. "IT'S ME! I'VE DRIVEN HIM AWAY!" He yelled in despair, but that was short-lived as he rushed over to his desk. "Oh well, there's no sense dwelling the past. We can't find a star, so we'll have to create one!" He then held up a poster of two people. One of them was Chazz. The other one was an Obelisk Blue boy with spiky brown hair. "And Chazz Princeton is the perfect candidate to launch Duel Academy into the spotlight!"
Bonaparte was certainly taken aback by Crowler's idea. "He can't be the face of our school! He's a Slifer Red, for Pete's sake!"
Wagging his finger, Crowler said, "Not for long! This will be his chance to return to glory. It's called marketing. Look it up. You see, crowds will come rushing to see if Chazz still has what it takes."
Flashback end
Crowler seemed proud of the idea.
"Okay, so, what about Nathan?" Syrus asked. "How does he come in?"
"Oh that? Your new headmaster reviewed your friend's transcript and insisted to add him into the mix." Crowler shrugged. "Well, that'll give me another dueling star."
Now it was official for the Academy students. They did not like Crowler's plan.
"That's the most selfish, egotistical thing I've ever heard." Alexis commented.
"Thank you!" Crowler said, taking it as a compliment. Though that made them sweat drop.
"Give a big Duel Academy welcome to our challenger!" Bonaparte announced, presenting Nathan's opponent. "She's one of our top ranking freshmen! Ms. Alyssa Greengrass!"
The audience cheered as she waved to them.
"We probably should get a seat." Andrew suggested.
"Hey guys, over here!"
The five of them turned to see Michael, Shiori, Cynthia, Angie and Pele sitting in the front row, waving them over.
"Guess that's our spot." Jenny said as she and the others went over there to sit.
"Alright, duelists! Turn on your duel disks and start!" Professor Miller announced.
The two duelists had their duel disks ready.
"So, are you ready?" Alyssa asked.
"I sure am." Nathan replied with a grin.
"Alright then..."
Both players drew their opening hands.
"GAME ON!"
Nathan: 4000
Alyssa: 4000
"I'll start this duel with this!" Alyssa drew her sixth card. "Flying Kamakiri #1 in defense mode!" A big, four-armed vaguely humanoid insect appeared in front of her and crossed its arms. (ATK: 1400 DEF: 900 LV: 4) "I place one card facedown and end my turn." A card appeared near her feet.
"Not bad, but I'm gonna wash that bug away!" Nathan drew. "And I'll start by playing the field spell, A Legendary Ocean!" He held up the named spell card. And then, both duelists found themselves in an underwater realm with large stone ruins.
"That's a good play. That card makes all water monsters 200 points stronger." Shiori said.
"Not only that. It also reduces their summoning levels by 1." Cynthia added.
"So thanks to my field spell, I can summon this without a sacrifice. Terrorking Salmon!" A demonic looking giant fish appeared. (ATK: 2400-2600 DEF: 1000-1200 LV: 5-4) "Now attack her Flying Kamakiri!" The fish swam forward and sank its teeth into the giant insect, making it shatter into pixels.
"You just triggered my Flying Kamakiri's special ability." Alyssa announced. "When it's destroyed in battle, I can summon a wind monster from my deck, as long as it has 1500 attack points or less. And I choose a monster called Harpie Perfumer!" From a flash of light, a woman with long purple hair, clad in a pink bodysuit appeared. She had talons for hands and feet and green feather wings. (ATK: 1400 DEF: 1300 LV: 4) "And since she was summoned, I can activate her special ability, which lets me add a spell or trap card from my deck to my hand. But only if it has something to do with Harpie Lady Sisters." She went through her deck and then grabbed a card. "Elegant Egotist will do."
"So she's using Harpie cards, huh?" Angie noted. "That is one tough archetype."
"Yeah, she knows how to use that kind of deck." Michael replied.
"So you know her?" Andrew asked curiously.
"Yeah. I'v known her since our childhood."
"Oh, so she's a childhood friend." Pele noted.
"Yup."
Flashback
"I first met her in one of these big parties for upperclass people and such."
In a huge hall, many people were gathered together, wearing fancy outfits. Among them all, three people were talking to each other. One of them was a man clad in a black tuxedo with a red bowtie. He had short, straight brown hair and darker brown eyes. The person standing next to him was an elegant woman wearing a red backless dress and white gloves. She had blonde hair that was held together in a bun on the back of her head and blue eyes.
The person they were facing was a man with short purple hair and grey eyes, wearing a pure white suit with a black tie. While he was talking to the couple in front of him, a younger Michael dressed in a matching suit stood next to him quietly. "Because I'm the son of the CEO of Kageyama Cruises, bringing me to that party was mandatory. Of course, the same thing went for Alyssa, as well as her twin sister and older brother."
Standing in front of Michael was a younger Alyssa in a blue dress. Standing right next to her was a girl who looked similar to her, wearing the same kind of dress like her, but was a little shorter than her, had shorter hair and wore glasses. Standing behind the two girls was a blonde boy with brown eyes that was taller them both, wearing a black tuxedo, just like their dad.
Flashback end
"After all, her dad is the owner of a national bank. And her mom has a luxury trains empire and also happens to be an old friend of my dad." Michael explained.
"Luxury trains?" Jaden repeated.
"That's right. Greengrass Express." The dark duelist said. "It used to be known as Campbell Express before she got married with the bank owner changed her surname. Greengrass Express is a popular company known for its worldwide train tour services."
"That sounds really nice." Alexis commented.
"It sure is. In fact, she and I have been on a few tours on their trains."
Flashback
"Those kind of train travels usually take such a long distances that they would last for a certain number of days. But of course, they provide everything the passengers would need during their journeys. As for me and Alyssa, we usually would bring our cards to pass the time."
On the inside of a luxurious dining car, a younger Michael and Alyssa sat together near a table and played Duel Monsters, using dueling mats.
Flashback end
"Those were good times. I just love dueling her."
"Sounds like she's a really nice person." Cynthia said.
"Yeah. Given that she's from a rich family, some would think that she's one of those elitist snobs." Syrus commented.
"Heck no!" Michael retorted. "She's better than that. She's been raised with discipline and has been taught that being the best does not mean that one should sacrifice truth and honor. She likes to use finesse to win her duels and relies on strategy..."
Flashback
Michael and Alyssa faced each other in another duel. And this time, they used duel disks. On Michael's field was a facedown card and a monster that looked like Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 8, but with a black body.
On Alyssa's field, there were one facedown card and two monsters on her field. A giant green duck with a red scarf and a bucket that acted like a helmet, and a gryphon whose main body was blue while its head and wings had golden feathers.
Alyssa drew a card and then pointed to her facedown card before it flipped up. When it did, the duck vanished before two bolts of lightning struck from above, destroying Michael's monster and facedown card. After that, the gryphon charged forward and slashed him with one of its talons, forcing him down on one knee.
Michael: 2000-0000
Despite his loss, Michael looked up with a smile, which Alyssa returned with her own.
"So yeah, she is quite skilled...
Flashback end
"...and will go very far in terms of grades." Michael said. "With that in mind, I'd say that Nathan won't win this duel so easily."
"Maybe, but he's no pushover." Andrew replied. "I'm sure he'll pull this off."
"Let's hope so."
"I place two cards facedown and end my turn." Nathan concluded as he inserted two cards into his duel disk.
"Then it's my turn." Alyssa drew. "And now I activate my own field spell. Harpies' Hunting Ground!" The arena shook as the water realm changed into a stony clearing with a bunch of mountains surrounding them.
"That's not good." Nathan muttered as his monster lost its extra points. (ATK: 2600-2400 DEF: 1200-1000 LV: 4-5)
"Due to its effect, all winged beast type monsters gain 200 attack and defense points." Alyssa continued. (ATK: 1400-1600 DEF: 1300-1500) "Then I'll summon Harpie Harpist in attack mode!" Another Harpie appeared on the field. One with long red hair, clad in a black, shoulder-less bodysuit, carrying a harp. (ATK: 1700-1900 DEF: 600-800 LV: 4) "This monster counts as a Harpie Lady while on the field or in the graveyard. And since that's the case, the second effect of my field spell automatically activates. Whenever a Harpie Lady or Harpie Lady Sisters is summoned, one spell or trap card on the field is destroyed. Like one of your facedown cards."
Nathan glanced down and saw one of his facedowns glowing with a red aura.
"But before that happens, I activate Harpie Harpist's special ability. When she's normal summoned, I can target another winged beast type monster I control and one face-up monster on your field. Both of them return to our hands. So I'll return my Harpie Perfumer to my hand in order to get rid of your Terrorking Salmon!" The two named monsters glowed with a green aura.
"In that case, I'll reveal one of my facedown cards." Nathan interrupted. "The one you're about to destroy, that is." The card in question flipped up. "I activate the trap card, Eisbahn! Whenever a non-water monster is normal or special summoned while I control a water monster, that monster is switched to defense mode." The red-haired Harpie kneeled down. After that, Nathan and Alyssa's chosen monsters vanished and reappeared in their hands. And finally, Nathan's trap card shattered into pixels.
"You may be safe from my Harpist, but you won't avoid the monster I'm about to summon, thanks to my spell card." Alyssa held up one of her cards. "I activate Elegant Egotist! If I have a Harpie Lady on the field, I can use this to summon another Harpie Lady, or..." A multicolored light enveloped Harpie Harpist. "Harpie Lady Sisters!" And right behind her, three more Harpies appeared, clad in matching purple bodysuits. One of them had long, dark-pink hair. Another one had red hair with one bang on the left side of her face being longer than the one on the right side. The third one had blue spiky hair. (ATK: 1950-2150 DEF: 2100-2300 LV: 6)
"Wow! Talk about a triple threat." Jaden joked.
"You could say that again." Michael replied.
"And with this trio summoned to the field, another spell or trap card is automatically destroyed." Alyssa continued. "So there goes your other card." Nathan's remaining facedown card was destroyed. "And then I activate the spell card, Cyber Shield!" The sisters were engulfed in a flash of light for a brief moment. And then, they were clad in golden armor. "By adding this card to my Harpies, I can increase their attack points by 500." (ATK: 2150-2650)
"Uh oh!" Nathan widened his eyes.
"Now my Harpies! Attack him directly!" The trio took flight and swooped down, each of them striking the water duelist with their talons.
Nathan: 4000-1350
"Ouch!" Shiori winced. "Nathan's off for a bad start there."
"Yeah, Alyssa's not messing around." Alexis nodded.
"I place one card facedown and end my turn." Alyssa concluded as she inserted one of her cards into her duel disk.
"Okay, that could have gone better. But let's try this." Nathan drew. "First I activate Moray of Greed. By taking two water monsters from my hand and shuffle them back into my deck, I can draw three new cards." He put Terrorking Salmon and another monster card into his deck. And after shuffling his deck, he drew his new cards and looked at them. "This will do. First I summon Electric Jellyfish in attack mode." A giant purple jellyfish appeared. (ATK: 1400 DEF: 1700 LV: 4) "And this monster has a special ability. By sending 1 Umi from my hand, deck or field to the graveyard, I can summon a water monster from my hand." Nathan fanned his deck out and took a certain card. "And one of the perks of A Legendary Ocean is that it always counts as Umi." He slid it into his graveyard slot. "So I'll toss this copy out and summon forth Infernalqueen Salmon!" From a flash of light, another demonic giant fish appeared. It looked similar to Terrorking Salmon, but most of its body made it more purplish than its counterpart. (ATK: 2400 DEF: 1000 LV: 5)
"Not bad." Cynthia said. "Looks like Nathan's starting to make a comeback."
"And next I activate Infernalqueen Salmon's special ability!" Nathan continued. "Whenever it's normal or special summoned, I can summon a fish type normal monster from my hand, deck, or graveyard. So say hello to an old friend!" From another flash of light, Terrorking Salmon appeared again. (ATK: 2400 DEF: 1000 LV: 5) "And I think I'll move on with the spell card, Moray of Avarice! By removing 1 face-up fish, sea serpent or aqua type monster from play, I can draw two more cards. And I choose to remove my Electric Jellyfish." The purple jellyfish vanished as Nathan drew his extra cards. "And now, Terrorking Salmon, attack her Harpie Harpist!" The demonic fish charged forward and rammed on the harp carrying Harpie, shattering her into pixels. "I place three cards facedown and end my turn." Three cards appeared near Nathan's feet.
"Before I'll let you end your turn, I activate Harpie Harpist's ability." Alyssa spoke up and fanned her deck out. "At the end of the turn she was sent to the graveyard, I can add a winged type monster with up to 1500 attack points from my deck to my hand." Alyssa took the card she wanted, add it to her hand and shuffled her deck. "Now it's my turn." She drew. "And I'll bring back Harpie Perfumer to the field in defense mode!" The purple-haired Harpie appeared again. (ATK: 1400-1600 DEF: 1300-1500 LV: 4) "And this triggers the effects of my field spell and Harpie Perfumer herself..."
"Reveal facedown card!" Nathan interrupted as one of his facedown cards flipped up. "White Howling! This lets me take a spell card from your graveyard, like Elegant Egotist, and remove it from play." The named spell card came out of Alyssa's graveyard slot. "And then, for the rest oft his turn, the effects of all your spells are negated."
Alyssa gasped.
"Cool!" Angie grinned. "That means his other facedown cards are safe."
"For now, at least." Pele replied.
"Not only that." Andrew added. "With her field spell and equip spell neutralized, the Harpies lose their power boost." (ATK: 2650-1950 DEF: 2300-2100) (ATK: 1600-1400 DEF: 1500-1300) (ATK: 1900-1700 DEF: 800-600)
"You stopped my spell, but I can at least use Harpie Perfurmer's ability again. Normally, I can only add one spell or trap card to my hand. But if I have a level 5 or higher Harpie monster on the field, like Harpie Lady Sisters, I can add two cards instead." Alyssa searched through her deck and took two cards. "And since the effect of your trap card only lasts until the end of this turn, I'll just end my turn with a facedown card." A card appeared near Alyssa's feet. "So now it's your..."
"Activate trap!" Nathan interrupted and revealed one of his facedown cards. "Sea Stealth Attack! When this card is activated, I get to activate 1 Umi directly from my hand or graveyard. And as you know, I have two copies of A Legendary Ocean in my graveyard."
Alyssa gasped as the entire scenario changed back to the underwater ruins. (ATK: 2400-2600 DEF: 1000-1200 LV: 5-4) (ATK: 2400-2600 DEF: 1000-1200 LV: 5-4) She got over her shock and smiled to Nathan. "Impressive. I can see why Professor Miller recommended you for this promotion duel." (ATK: 1950-2450)
The water duelist. "Why thank you! But let's move on, shall we?" He drew. "Terrorking Salmon, attack Harpie Lady Sisters!"
"I think Nathan's getting overconfident there." Michael said. "Alyssa still has three facedown cards."
"And odds are, she's been waiting for the right moment to use them." Andrew replied.
One of the demonic fishes charged forward.
"I activate the trap card, Harpie Lady Elegance!" One of Alyssa's facedown cards flipped up. "By shuffling Harpie Lady Sisters into my deck, I can replace them with 3 different Harpie monsters. One each from my hand, deck and graveyard." At that, her hand, deck and graveyard slot glowed. while Harpie Lady Sisters vanished. "First from my hand, Harpie Lady 1!" The monster that appeared was the Harpie with dark-pink hair. (ATK: 1300 DEF: 1400 LV: 4) "Then from my deck, Harpie's Pet Dragon!" The next monster was a dark-pink dragon with wings on its arms and a golden collar with a chain around its neck. (ATK: 2000 DEF: 2500 LV: 7) "And from my graveyard, I'm bringing back Harpie Harpist!" The Harpie with the harp appeared again. (ATK: 1700 DEF: 600 LV: 4)
"Whoa!" Nathan widened his eyes.
"If you think this looks bad for you now, just watch this. For every Harpie Lady on my field, Harpie's Pet Dragon gains 300 attack and defense points. And I've got three of them." (ATK: 2000-2900 DEF: 2500-3400) "And then, there's Harpie Lady 1's special ability. She makes the attack strength of all wind monsters on the field go up by another 300 points." A green aura surrounded the named monster and spread to the other monsters. (ATK: 1300-1600) (ATK: 1400-1700) (ATK: 1700-2000) (ATK: 2900-3200) "This should provide me plenty of defense."
But Nathan smirked. "Maybe, but I've got a surprise for you. I'm gonna continue my attack. And... my target is your dragon!"
Alyssa gave him an incredulous look. "But my dragon has more attack points than your Terrorking Salmon. There's no way it can destroy it. Unless..." She trailed off as her eyes widened.
"I have something that will help my monster destroy yours?" Nathan filled in. "As a matter of fact, I do. And it happens to be my Sea Stealth Attack card. When one of my water monsters whose original level is 5 or higher battles one of your monsters, that monster is destroyed at the start of the damage step."
Alyssa gasped as the demonic fish was surrounded by a blue aura and tackled the dragon, shattering it into pixels.
"And for my next move, I'll attack your Harpie lady 1 with Infernalqueen Salmon!" The other demonic fish charged forward and chomped of the dark-pink haired Harpie. (ATK: 1700-1400) (ATK: 2000-1700) "Then I'll place one card facedown and end my turn." Nathan concluded.
"You're better than I thought." Alyssa admitted. "But I have everything I need to turn this around." She drew. "First I'll switch Harpie Harpist and Perfumer to attack mode." Her two remaining Harpies stood up. "Then I activate the field spell, Harpies' Hunting Ground!"
"Again?" Nathan exclaimed as the scenario changed back to the surrounding mountains. (ATK: 1400-1600 DEF: 1300-1500) (ATK: 1700-1900 DEF: 600-800) (ATK: 2600-2400 DEF: 1200-1000 LV: 4-5) (ATK: 2600-2400 DEF: 1200-1000 LV: 4-5)
"That's right. You forgot that I added more than one spell or trap to my hand with Harpie Perfumer's effect. And that's just the beginning, because now I play Monster Reborn, allowing me to bring back a monster from my graveyard, like Harpie's Pet Dragon!" The dark-pink dragon appeared again. (ATK: 2000 DEF: 2500 LV: 7) "And don't forget, it gains 300 points for every Harpie Lady on the field." (ATK: 2000-2600 DEF: 2500-3100) "And next, by discarding one card from my hand, I activate the trap card, Hysteric Party!" Alyssa discarded one of her cards as one of her facedowns flipped up. "This allows me to summon as many Harpie Ladies as possible from my graveyard."
Nathan raised an eyebrow. "But the only one in your graveyard is Harpie Lady 1."
Alyssa smiled. "Actually, the card I just discarded is also a Harpie Lady. Cyber Harpie Lady, to be exact." Harpie Lady 1 appeared again, along with another Harpie. This one looked just like her, but clad in black armor. (ATK: 1300-1500 DEF: 1400-1600 LV: 4) (ATK: 1800-2000 DEF: 1300-1500 LV: 4) "So with two more Harpies on the field, my dragon grows stronger. Plus, all of my wind monsters gain 300 more attack points, thanks to Harpie Lady 1." (ATK: 1500-1800) (ATK: 2000-2300) (ATK: 1600-1900) (ATK: 1900-2200) (ATK: 2600-3200-3500 DEF: 3100-3700) "And thanks to the effect of my field spell, one more spell or trap card is automatically destroyed." Alyssa looked at Nathan's two facedown cards for a moment before pointing to one of them. "I choose the one on the right!"
Nathan smirked. "In that case, I'll activate that card!" The card in question flipped up. "Poison of the Old Man! This spell card lets me either increase my life points, or damage yours. And I think I choose the former, giving myself 1200 extra life points."
Nathan: 1350-2550
And then, the spell card was destroyed.
"Well, it's good that he gained extra life points." Jenny said. "But he's still facing an army of powerful monsters, including that dragon."
"And without his field spell, his Sea Stealth Attack card doesn't work anymore." Andrew added.
"But he's still got a facedown card." Shiori noted. "And since Alyssa's field is full, she can't summon anymore Harpies."
"True, but I wouldn't underestimate her." Michael replied. "Like I said, she likes to use finesse and rely on strategies. So the question is, what's gonna be her next move?"
Alyssa stood in place quietly, seemingly in deep thought. Nathan looked a little nervous. Eventually, Alyssa spoke up. "Okay, I've decided to not attack you."
"Huh?" Nathan blinked.
"Instead, I play a spell card." She held up the last card in her hand. "Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation!" The four Harpies took flight as blue flames enveloped them before taking the form of a giant bird. "Here's how it works: With at least 3 Harpie Ladies and7or Harpie Lady Sisters in play, I can destroy monsters on your field up to the same number. After that, you take damage equal to the highest original attack points among those monsters."
"But wait! Both of Nathan's monsters have the same attack points." Syrus pointed out.
"Yeah, and since that's the case, Alyssa gets to choose one of them." Michael replied.
Andrew almost grimaced. "Now this is gonna hurt."
The Phoenix Formation dive bombed on Nathan's field, causing the flames to spread everywhere. Nathan covered himself with his arms as the flames swallowed his monsters and burned them to a crisp.
Nathan: 2550-0150
"Since I used this spell card, I'm forced to skip my battle phase this turn." Alyssa explained as the flames died down. But then, she noticed Nathan lowering his arms, revealing a smirk.
"Sounds good to me. Especially since I now can use Infernalqueen Salmon's special ability." Three small light pillars erupted on the field. "You see, since you destroyed it with a card effect, I can summon any number of Vilepawn Salmon Tokens. And I think three of them will do." The light pillars died down and revealed smaller versions of Infernalqueen Salmon. (ATK: 0 DEF: 0 LV: 1)x3 "And thanks to your spell, I can play my trap card as well." Nathan's facedown card flipped up. "It's called Torrential Reborn. And thanks to this, I can summon back all water monsters that were destroyed. And for each monster I'm bringing back, you take 500 points of damage." From a flash of light, the two demonic fishes appeared again. (ATK: 2400 DEF: 1000 LV: 5)x2
And Alyssa winced as a red aura surrounded her.
Alyssa: 4000-3000
She recovered and spoke up. "In that case, I'll make sure to protect myself, using this trap card." Her remaining facedown card flipped up. "It's called Aqua Chorus, and it works like this, if there are monsters with the same name on the field, those monsters gain 500 attack and defense points. Sure, your Token monsters get some points, but so do my four Harpies as they all count as Harpie Lady." A blue aura enveloped Nathan's Tokens and Alyssa's Harpies. (ATK: 0-500 DEF: 0-500) (ATK: 1800-2300 DEF: 1600-2100) (ATK: 2300-2800 DEF: 1500-2000) (ATK: 1900-2400 DEF: 1300-1800) (ATK: 2200-2700 DEF: 800-1300)
"Whoa! Talk about a power boost!" Angie commented.
"Yeah." Pele nodded. "And with so many powerful monsters staring down at him, Nathan might not stand a chance."
"Don't give up on him just yet." Jaden replied. "A duel's not over until the last card is played."
"Well, he's going to need a really good one, considering the fact that his hand's empty." Alexis added.
Nathan stared at Alyssa's army nervously. 'Alright, this is it. What happens next depends on what I draw next. So here goes nothing.' He reached for his deck. "My turn!" And then drew his next card. He paused for a short while before taking a look at it. And when he did, he smiled. "Yes!"
"Huh?" Alyssa gave him a curious look.
"I drew just what I needed. And what makes this card unique is that I can sacrifice three monsters in order to summon it. And I think my Vilepawn Slamon Tokens will do." The three smaller fishes vanished. "Now I summon... The Tripper Mercury!" And from a flash of light, a new monster rose up on the field. It was a big, blue armored woman with a white cape, wielding two glowing swords. (ATK: 2000 DEF: 2000 LV: 8)
Everyone gasped.
"The Tripper Mercury? That's one of the Legendary Planet cards." Cynthia said.
"Maybe Nathan has a chance after all." Shiori added.
Alyssa stared at the new monster in awe. "I didn't expect you to have a card like that."
"If you think she's impressive now, just wait until you get to see her special ability." Nathan replied. "Since I sacrificed 3 monsters in order to summon her, Mercury makes all your monsters lose attack points equal to their original attack points."
Alyssa gasped as a red aura enveloped all her monsters, making them weaker. (ATK: 2300-1000) (ATK: 2800-1000) (ATK: 2400-1000) (ATK: 2700-1000) (ATK: 3500-1500)
"And now I attack with The Tripper Mercury! Destroy Harpie Lady 1!" The armored woman charged forward and slashed the dark-pink haired (And purple clad) Harpie with one of her swords.
Alyssa: 3000-2000
"And with her gone, your monsters lose a few more points." (ATK: 1000-700)x3 (ATK: 1500-1200-900 DEF: 3700-3400) "And Mercy happens to have another special ability. She can attack twice each turn. So here's round two!" The armored woman used her other sword and struck Harpie Harpist.
Alyssa: 2000-0700 (ATK: 900-600 DEF: 3400-3100)
"Terrorking Salmon, finish this!" One of the demonic fishes charged forward and chomped on the dragon's neck, making it roar in pain before it exploded.
Alyssa: 0700-0000
The crowd cheered as the holograms turned off.
"The winner, Nathan Aichi!" Miller announced. "And he now advances to Ra Yellow!"
Nathan and Alyssa walked up to each other and shook hands.
"I must say, you surprised me there." Alyssa admitted.
"Well, I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this match. You're really good." Nathan replied.
Alyssa smiled kindly. "Thanks, and congratulations for your promotion."
"Alright, he did it!" Jaden said.
"That was totally awesome!" Angie cheered.
"He really earned it." Andrew added.
"I actually thought she had him there." Michael admitted. "But Nathan sure pulled a fast one there."
"And now, time for the next match!" Bonaparte announced. "Will the next participants come forward?"
Chazz stepped up on the platform, walking up to the center. And the person across him was a boy shorter than him with spiky brown hair, clad in an Obelisk Blue uniform. When they met, they exchanged decks and shuffled them.
"Look who it is." The young Obelisk said. "The guy who got booted from the Blues! You're going down!"
Chazz merely smirked, not fazed by the taunt. "Look, kid, you're an obnoxious little punk, and I can respect that. But no snot-nosed freshman can stand up to The Chazz."
Angie scoffed. "Oh boy. Emo much."
"You don't know the half of it." Andrew replied.
"And now it's time for Chazz to see if he goes back to Obelisk Blue!" Bonaparte said as the duelists returned their decks and walked back to their sides. "And his opponent... our other top ranked freshman. Reginald Van Howell III!"
The crowd cheered again as the Obelisk raised his arm.
"That Reginald kid must be a good duelist!" Jaden commented. "It's his first year at this place, and he's already an Obelisk Blue."
"No joke." Syrus agreed. "He's just like Chazz! Well, before he became a has-been."
'The whole school is a buzz!' Crowler thought from his seat, delighted by how things are going so far.. 'Now, all we need is for Chazz to win, and the his family's fame will make me the most powerful Chancellor of the prep school on Earth!'
"Alright, you know the drill!" Bonaparte said, deciding to commence the duel. "No direct attacks from below the belt! But trash talk is encouraged!"
"Then allow me to kick off the insults!" Reggie spoke up. "You're a lousy, stuck-up snob! And no one here likes you!"
"I'm waiting for the insults." Chazz simply said, surprising his opponent. "Maybe you haven't picked up on this yet, little Reggie, but I do things my way! And I didn't come here to win any popularity contests!"
"Tell us something we don't know." Jaden said sarcastically.
"Yeah, Chazz! I didn't take all those noogies and purple nurples as a sign of friendship!" Syrus added.
"And I sure didn't like those fish comments he gave me."
The gang turned and saw Nathan sitting next to them.
"Hi, Nathan." Michael greeted with a smile. "Congrats for your victory."
"Thanks. It was not an easily won one, though."
"You tell me." The dark duelist replied before they all focused the next duel.
"Alright, let's get on with this!" Chazz said confidently. "Talk is cheap. And unlike you, I don't do cheap!"
"Now that the insults have been hurled, let's hurl some cards!" Bonaparte announced.
"Sounds good! LET'S DUEL!" Both duelists drew their opening hands.
Chazz: 4000
Reggie: 4000
"I'll kick this thing off..." Reggie drew. "With my Marauding Captain!" A certain blonde warrior in rusty armor appeared. (ATK: 1200 DEF: 400 LV: 3) "And now that he's on the field, I can summon yet another monster. Warrior Lady of the Wasteland!" The blonde warrior glowed with a green aura as another warrior appeared. This one was female with long blonde hair and green eyes. She was wearing a brown hat and tattered cape over a green halter top, skirt and boots. She drew a sword from her back. (ATK. 1100 DEF: 1200 LV: 4)
"Can I yawn yet?" Chazz asked, obviously not impressed. "Or do you have some more lame cards? Please tell me you're done."
"Not by a long shot, Chazzy! Reggie replied. "Check this out! I activate my Jewel sword and add it to my Marauding Captain!" A sword with a diamond hilt replaced one of the swords in the captain's hands. (ATK: 1200-1500) "But that's not my only upgrade. Next I'll boost my Warrior Lady with Divine Sword - Phoenix Blade!" The female warrior's regular sword was replaced by a sword with a phoenix-crafted hilt. (ATK: 1100-1400)
"Not bad!" Syrus said.
"He's really giving Chazz a run for his money." Shiori replied.
"Yeah, and Chazz has a ton of cash." Jaden added.
"I'll throw this down and call it a turn." Reggie concluded as a card appeared near his feet. "Now, looks like you're up, Chazz-Ball! Think you have what it takes? Rumor has it you own the best deck money could buy. Now let's see if it was worth it!" When he noticed that Chazz didn't react at all, he decided to taunt him further. "What's the problem? Afraid all this time as a Slifer turned you into a Slacker? That black getup doesn't fool me. You're a redcoat, Chazzy!"
"Do you ever shut up? This should help!" Chazz drew. "I play X-Head Cannon!" A blue and yellow humanoid machine with a spike ball lower region and two shoulder cannons appeared. (ATK: 1800 DEF: 1500 LV: 4) "Now try this on for size! My Graceful Charity spell card! This lets me draw three new cards as long as I ditch two." He drew three cards and revealed the two cards he was about to discard. "I'll start by tossing my Chthonian Polymer trap card. Then I'll dump Ojamagic."
"Say what?!" Reggie's eyes bugged out. "Ojama who?"
Chazz tossed the named cards before speaking up. "Am I going too fast, Reggie? Let me dumb things down for ya. Ojamagic." As he spoke, he picked three cards from his deck. "It adds these three cards to my hand."
"Where the party at!" Ojama Yellow, in his spirit form, shouted, along with two other spirits. One of them was black with a chubby body, sharp teeth and a big nose that dominated most of its face. The other one was green with a muscled body, one big eye in the middle of its forehead and a long tongue sticking out of its mouth.
Yellow floated up Chazz's face. "Can I attack, Boss? Can I, please?" That earned him a growl from Chazz.
"I don't get it." The Obelisk said, confused. "Why would you play three total wimps?"
Chazz smirked. "This is why. Never underestimate the power of The Chazz! Now read it and weep!" He then revealed a spell card from his hand.
"Ojama Ride?!" Reggie exclaimed.
"I'm guessing by the stunned look on your face that you know what happens next. I can summon up to three powerful machine monsters to the field, as long as I scrap these three little freaks."
"Say it ain't so!" The spirits shouted before tossed their cards, causing getting sucked into the graveyard slot.
"Who's the slacker now, Reggie? Here's a hint: He's a prep school pipsqueak and he's in way over his dorky hair."
"Is it you?" Reggie replied.
"No, it's you! Oh, just watch! I play Y-Dragon Head and Z-Metal Tank!" A red metallic dragon appeared, along with some kind of yellow tank. (ATK: 1500 DEF: 1600 LV: 4) (ATK: 1500 DEF: 1300 LV: 4) "And that means I can combine X, Y and Z to form XYZ-Dragon Cannon!" The metal dragon attached itself to the top of the yellow tank. Its wings came off as X-Head Cannon attached itself on top of it. (ATK: 2800 DEF: 2600 LV: 8)
Reggie was taken aback. "This bad!"
"Perceptive." Chazz said sarcastically as he held up two cards from his hand. One spell card and one trap card. "And it's gonna get worse when I activate its special ability. By putting two cards in my graveyard, I instantly send both of your monsters packing!" As soon as he discarded those two cards, the two warriors shattered into pixels. "Oh well, there goes your defense. Dragon Cannon, direct attack!" The fusion monster charged up its cannons and fired them at Reggie, who held up one of his hands protectively.
Reggie: 4000-1200
"Still think you have a shot?" Chazz challenged.
"You're gonna be sorry you did that to me." Reggie growled. "Because thanks to my Jewel Sword, I get to draw 1 card from my deck." He drew.
"You've got me shaking in my boots." Chazz taunted.
"This obnoxious rich kid isn't half bad." Bonaparte smirked.
"You sound surprised, Bonaparte." Crowler said, sitting right next to him. "You should really have more faith in me. There's a reason they promoted me to Chancellor."
"Sure is." Miller interjected, sitting right behind them both. "And I'm sure that reason has nothing to do to use our students to get you more publicity!"
"Who asked you?!" Crowler snapped.
"Wowsers!" Angie said, really impressed. "That Chazz guy took out Reggie's defense AND most of his life points."
"Yeah, despite his attitude, Chazz can really duel... when he stops being annoying, that is." Jenny replied.
"I hear ya." Alexis added.
"Let me show you how it's done!" Reggie drew. "I activate a personal favorite of mine called Pot of Greed! Sorry, now I pick up two more cards." He drew his extra cards.
"Stalling for time won't work, kid." Chazz called out as Reggie glanced at his new cards.
"Does this look like stalling to you?" Reggie's facedown card flipped up. "I play Call of the Haunted, which brings a monster back from my graveyard. And I choose Warrior Lady of the Wasteland!" The female warrior appeared again. (ATK: 1100 DEF: 1200 LV: 4) "And now, since I'm the kind of guy who likes to take care of his peeps, I'm giving her a shiny new Great Sword and a few more points." Her regular sword turned into a silver sword. (ATK: 1100-1400)
"Well, that was pointless." Chazz scoffed. "It's simple math. You only raised her by 300. She still doesn't come close to my Dragon Cannon!"
But Reggie smirked. "That's exactly I plan to sacrifice her, so I can play a little card called Gilford the Legend!"
Chazz was now shocked. "You're kidding!"
"Does this look like a joke?" After a flash of light, a taller warrior took Warrior Lady's place. He was a masked, red-headed swordsman decked out in armor, red cape and three swords, including a big one he was holding with his hands. (ATK. 2600 DEF: 2000 LV: 8)
"What a sweet move!" Jaden said.
"Yeah, this freshman really knows his stuff." Alexis agreed. "And with that nasty attitude, he's like a mini Chazz."
"Now that's a scary thought." Syrus commented.
"But wait!" Angie looked confused. "That Gilford is a level 8 monster, right? That's a monster that requires two sacrifices in order to be summoned."
"That's why Reggie equipped Warrior Lady with Great Sword." Pele explained. "When you would tribute summon a warrior type monster, the monster equipped with that card counts as two sacrifices."
"Ooooh." Angie nodded.
"Check this out! It's time for Gilford to really strut his stuff!" Reggie continued. "Thanks to his special ability, he gets exclusive access to every equip spell card in my graveyard. Giving Gilford his very own Divine Sword - Phoenix Blade!" Gilford's sword transformed into the phoenix-hilted sword. (ATK: 2600-2900) "Oh yeah, and he gets the Jewel Sword!" It then changed into the diamond-hilted sword. (ATK: 2900-3200) "And to that, I'll add the Great Sword, giving Gilford a total of 3500 points!" The sword then changed into the silver sword. (ATK: 3200-3500) "How do you like my math now? Well there's more." reggie revealed one of the cards in his hand. "I play my Wicked-breaking Flamberge - Baou! Now all I have to do is send 1 card to the graveyard, and Gilford gets even stronger!" After discarding his other card, Gilford's sword transformed one more time. It was a dark sword with black edges and a sinister aura around it. And what's more, it was now so huge that it reached Chazz's end of the field and almost touched his monster. (ATK: 3500-4000)
"That sword needs its own zip code!" Syrus cried out.
"I know. Get a load of Chazz!" Jaden said, seeing the black clad Slifer paralyzed with shock at seeing Gilford's gigantic sword. "He's bugging out!"
"How else would one react to a 22-foot flaming sword?" Shiori asked rhetorically.
"If you think this sword looks scary, watch what it can do!" Reggie said as Gilford merely raised his gigantic sword and then brought down, crushing Dragon Cannon real hard.
Chazz: 4000-2800
"You're defenseless!" Reggie declared with a smirk.
But Chazz chuckled. "You'd like to think so, but The Chazz always has a plan. So I play this!" He drew his next card and revealed it. "Anything look familiar? I have a Pot of Greed also, and it lets me draw two cards." He drew his extra cards and looked at them. "Well, what do you know? It's Ojamandala!" He revealed one of them.
Reggie widened his eyes. "Don't even tell me..."
"I give up 1000 points to bring back you know who!"
Chazz: 2800-1800
"It's good to be back, folks!" The three Ojamas said as they appeared on the field. (ATK: 0 DEF: 1000 LV: 2)x3
"These misfits may not look like much, but they're about to take you down!"
"With what?" Reggie questioned.
"Relax, you'll see." Chazz smirked.
Reggied widened his eyes before glaring at him. "You're bluffing!"
But to prove him wrong, Chazz played another spell card. "Time to rough them up, boys. Now go!"
"Sure, Boss!" The Ojamas replied as they leapt into action.
"Let's shake..." Yellow started.
"...rattle..." Black followed.
"...and roll!" Green finished.
"OJAMA STYLE!" The three of them the floated up to Gilford and taunted him before rubbing their butts together. they then spun around in unison, their rotation increasing and spinning into a three-colored hurricane.
"Now take him for spin, boys!" Chazz ordered as the hurricane surrounded Gilford before destroying him in an explosion.
"My strongest monster... destroyed by dweebs... in undies..." Reggie fell to his knees with a look of disbelief on his face.
"They may seem like a bunch of wimps, but these three mutants can be pretty vicious. Especially when they're used with Ojama Delta Hurricane."
"I'll say." Nathan said, seemingly impressed. "I guess even the weakest monster can be a threat if used correctly."
"You got that right." Andrew replied as Wynn the Wind Charmer appeared briefly with a nod.
Reggie growled as he got up. "Oh yeah? Well you activate the special effect of my Jewel Sword, so now I get to draw one card from my deck." He drew.
"I'll lay this facedown and put you out of your misery." Chazz concluded and inserted a card into his duel disk.
"Wait, let me guess!" Reggie said, now seemingly annoyed. "That's another lame Ojama card, right?"
Chazz smirked. "Why do you say that?"
"Oh, I don't know. maybe because you built your entire deck around those three stooges! I've had it! Those freaks made a fool out of me for the last time!"
"You're right, kid. Why let them make a fool out of yourself, when you do such a great job making a fool out of yourself?"
"Whatever! You're a second-rate duelist with a third-rate deck. Now watch and learn!" He drew his next card, glanced at it and revealed it. You see this? It's a real card called Graceful Charity! So I draw three cards and then discard two." He drew his extra cards, looked over his hand and discarded two of them. "And of the cards I discarded was Card of Compensation! And since I sent it to the graveyard, I can draw two more cards!" He drew his extra cards and looked at them. "And one of them is the spell card, Premature Burial! And once I pay 800 points, a monster comes back from my grave. And I choose my Armed Samurai - Ben Kei!"
Reggie: 1200-0400
A samurai in a white hood and green tunic appeared, carrying various weapons on his back. He looked like he was he was a very tough battle as arrows were in his limbs, yet still able to fight. (ATK: 500 DEF: 800 LV: 4) "But wait! I'm not done! Next I'll remove two warriors from the game, and it's all thanks to the special ability of my Divine Sword - Phoenix Blade, which I'll now get to add to my hand." Reggie pulled out the named spell card, along with Marauding Captain and Warrior Lady of the Wasteland, before putting the latter two away. "Now there's one thing left to do. Ready?" He the held up three cards from his hand. "I take Lightning Blade, Fusion Sword Murasame Blade and Divine Sword, and give them to Samurai - Ben Kei!" The phoenix-hilted sword appeared in the samurai's left hand. (ATK: 500-800) It then transformed into a katana with a chaotic aura around it. (ATK: 800-1600) After that, a broad sword with golden handle appeared in the samurai's right hand. (ATK: 1600-2400) "Now attack! take out that yellow pipsqueak!"
The samurai charged forward and showed no mercy as he struck Ojama Yellow with one his swords, wiping him out. "You're not in the clear yet! Not by a long shot, Chazz! My samurai gets an extra attack for every card he's equipped with!"
Chazz gasped. "What?"
"Do the math." Jaden said. "Reggie gets 4 more attacks. And Chazz has only two attacks... No, seriously, do the math for me."
"Dude! That means after destroying Chazz's two remaining monsters, Reggie can launch two more attacks, one of them more than enough to wipe him out!"
"Oh yeah."
"One!" Reggie counted as Ben Kei took out Black with one of his swords. "Two!" He then destroyed Green.
Chazz glanced at his facedown card. 'Let's see, I can this trap card two block his two remaining attacks.' He the smirked. 'But luckily, I have something else prepared.'
"Strike three, you're out!" Reggie declared as Ben Kei prepared to strike with Lightning Blade.
"Guess again, Reggie! From my graveyard, I activate a trap card!"
"From your graveyard?!" Reggie exclaimed as Chazz took out a card from his graveyard slot.
"You heard me. I discarded it when I used Dragon Cannon's ability. It's called Ojama Duo. By removing this card from play, I can summon two more Ojamas from my deck. So here comes Ojama Red and Ojama Blue!" From a flash of light, two more Ojamas appeared. One of them was red with a slightly chubby body and a onion shaped head. It had a yellow scarf around its neck and an angry look on its face. The other one was blue and a sort of laid-back expression on his flat face. (ATK: 0 DEF: 1000 LV: 2)x2
"Oh yeah! Time to party!" Red shouted.
"Hello there." Blue greeted casually.
Reggie growled. "Fine, I'll destroy them instead!" Ben Kei struck the Lightning Blade on the ground, causing some electricity to spread on the field...
"BZZZZZZZT!" And zapped those poor Ojamas before they exploded.
"Aw, what's wrong? You miss your little friends?"
"They're not my friends." Chazz corrected. "But I'll bring them back anyway, after using Ojama Blue's ability. After he's destroyed in battle, I can add two Ojama cards from my deck to my hand." He searched through his deck and took the cards he wanted.
Reggie blinked. "What? Why?"
"You'll see. But first I'll play my trap card!" Chazz's facedown card flipped up."My Ojama Delta Wear card automatically returns the gruesome threesome to the field."
"I bet you missed us!" The Ojama Trio said as they appeared again. (ATK: 0 DEF: 1000 LV: 2)x3
"I think I'm getting verklempt!" Black sobbed.
"He likes us! He really likes us!" Green cried out.
"Oh, happy day!" Yellow said, being the happiest of them all.
"Team Pathetic is reunited!" Reggie said. "And guess who the biggest loser of them all is!"
Chazz narrowed his eyes. "I'm sure you're about to tell me."
"It's you! And you'll never be a Blue again!"
"It's official." Angie scowled. "I don't like that guy!"
"You and me both." Cynthia agreed.
Miller shook his head. "Looks like things haven't changed since I graduated."
"How's it feel to be a Slifer Lifer?" Reggie taunted.
Chazz smirked. "You know, I used to be just like you. An elitist snob who looked down everyone around me. But I've changed. Know how?" He drew his next card. "Now I'm snob who only looks down on some people. Anyway, There's a lesson in there, I'm just not sure where." He then played a certain spell card. Polymerization. "Now I merge my Ojamas together to form Ojama King!" The three Ojamas were sucked into a fusion vortex. And then, a new monster appeared. He was a huge, white and round creature with a big nose and stalk eyes. He was wearing bikini briefs, a green cape and another set of bikini briefs over his head with a small crown overtop. "Thank you, thank you very much!" He said, imitating one of the greatest singers in history. (ATK: 0 DEF: 3000 LV: 6)
"Dude, your King has no points!" Reggie pointed out.
"Gee, thanks. It's a good thing I have this then." Chazz held up a card. "I activate the field spell, Ojama Country!" The two duelists now found themselves in a village so small that it made them look like giants. The houses were shaped like Ojama Yellow's head among a hill. "Wonder what it does? When an Ojama is on the field, all monsters' original attack and defense points are switched. Which means Ojama King is now up to 3000 attack points!" (ATK: 0-3000 DEF: 3000-0)
Despite his nervousness, Reggie stayed firm as his samurai's points changed as well. (ATK: 2400-2700 DEF: 800-500) "So what? It's not like you have any other monsters to play!"
Chazz smirked. "Is that so? Then I guess I'll just have to use the second effect of my field spell. By sending one Ojama card from my hand to the graveyard, I can summon an Ojama from my graveyard."
"What?!" Reggie exclaimed.
Chazz discared one of his cards. "So now I'll bring back Ojama Yellow!"
"Thank you, Boss!" Yellow said gratefully as he appeared again. (ATK: 0-1000 DEF: 1000-0)
"That means..." Reggie trailed off.
"Spit it out, Reggie. It means you lose. Welcome to Duel Academy, freshman!"
"Get him, dude!" Ojama King said as he curled himself and rolled like bowling ball and rolled over the samurai.
Reggie: 0400-0100
"Now take this!" Yellow leapt up in the air, and landed a kick and knocked the Obelisk boy down.
Reggie: 0100-0000
"Looks like slumming it with the Slifers hasn't hurt my game." Chazz said as the holograms vanished. "Maybe now you'll see that the color of the coat doesn't mean squat, cuz an Obelisk Blue, who's supposed to be the best of the best, just got schooled by a Slifer Red. face it, kid. Wether we're wearing blue, yellow, red or polka dots, you'll always be the same loser, and I'll always be The Chazz!"
"Chazz it up! Chazz it up! Chazz it up!" The students cheered, even Jaden and the gang. Miller was amused to see even Crowler cheer, while Bonaparte gave him a confused look.
"The Chazz has spoken!"
Jaden chose that moment to jump down from the stands. "Way to win for the reds! I always knew you were one of us! Come here!" He then came up to Chazz and hugged him.
"Back off! I never said that!" Chazz protested.
More and more Slifers came down from the stands, ran up to the platform, picked Chazz up and threw him in the air, despite his demands to stop. Professor Miller watched the scene with a proud look.
"Didn't see that coming." Crowler commented as he and Bonaparte walked up to the platform. "But if he wants to be a slacker, who amI to stop him?" He then brought up his microphone. "Attention, please! There seems to be a change of plans! Nathan Aichi is the only one getting promoted, while Chazz Princeton remains in Slifer Red!"
"Chazz it up! Chazz it up! Chazz it up!" The Slifers chanted.
But Chazz blinked. "But I don't..."
"There's no need to thank me, I'm just doing my job." Crowler interrupted.
"At this rate, it won't be a job for very much longer." Bonaparte grumbled.
Chazz was now hysteric. "Will you all shut up!"
But he was ignored by the cheering students.
"Chazz, now that you're our team mascot, we've got a ton of stuff to do! Get you a red jacket, teach you the secret handshake..." Jaden rambled, much to Chazz's annoyance.
Andrew and the others smiled at this.
Later that afternoon, Syrus was walking by a room when he suddenly heard someone talking behind its doors...
"But this will make an even better story for the press..." It was Crowler.
"Forget about the press!" Another voice came out. And that one belonged to Bonaparte. "If you really want this school to rise to greatness, there needs to be some changes made. I told you before, we need to bid the Slifers adieu!"
"You were serious?" Crowler asked.
"I don't kid, Crowler. It's high time we tear down the Slifer dorm!"
Syrus heard this and was horrified. "Tear down the Slifer dorm!" At that, he rushed back to his dorm.
"WHAT?!" Jaden shouted after hearing his roommate's story. "Did you just say tear down the Slifer dorm!? Are you positive?"
"They want to get rid of us." Syrus confirmed him. "I'm telling ya. I saw this in a movie once. These guys in dark suits show up. Then they tell us we're gonna sleep with the fishes and no one hears from us again!"
"We gotta tell Professor Miller!" Jaden declared. But then, all suddenly, the whole room started to shake. "Oh no! We're too late!"
"You're right! That means we're all gonna get whacked!" Syrus added before both of them ran out of there.
But what was really happening with the place, was a construction crew who seemed to be renovating the dorm or something.
"It won't be long now." Chazz said, watching this.
"Run, Chazz!" Jaden shouted, as he and Syrus just came out.
"They're here!"
"What are you dorks talking about?" Chazz wondered. "These guys are building a private room onto this dump. I figure if I'm gonna be stuck in this place, I may as well be living in style."
"Well, it is your money, Mr. Princeton." Professor Miller said, overlooking the construction. "This dorm really needs a touch up."
"Now this is nice." Someone said, watching this from a distance. It was Nathan, who was now dressed in a Ra Yellow uniform.
"Hello there, Nathan." Miller greeted. "And congratulations for your promotion."
"Thank you, Professor." Nathan replied with a smile.
"So much for your theory." Jaden commented, turning to his roommate.
"I guess I got a little carried away." Syrus sweat dropped. "Sorry for the scare. I think I should lay off the late-night movies for a while."
But Jaden seemed concerned. 'But I wonder what Syrus overheard was true. Do they really want to tear down the dorm?'
Well, this took me longer than I thought. But considering the time I published this chapter, consider this my Christmas gift to you people. Merry Christmas, everyone!
