One Christmas Eve morning, Luigi had got a letter from Princess Peach saying that she was setting up a Christmas party with everyone in the Mushroom Kingdom.
"Mario! I got a letter from Princess Peach saying that she was having a Christmas party for all of us in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Mario looks at the letter, then opens it and saids: "Dear Mario, I am preparing to have a Christmas party on Christmas Eve, I'm gonna invite all the toads to come over to my castle… including you and your friends! So, don't miss it! Signed: Princess Peach."
"Well what do you know, Luigi? Peach is having a Christmas party!" Mario said.
"Yeah, and I think she's inviting everyone to her castle and that means us… and your members from your last adventure!" Luigi replies.
"Yeah, ever since me and my friends had to rescue the Star Spirits and retrieved the star rod from Bowser and Kammy."
"I know, the story that you've told me about."
"Yep, and now we're heading off to see Princess Peach!"
"For Christmas?"
"That's right!"
"And why are we standing around for? Come on, Mario. Let's head over to the castle!"
Mario & Luigi exited through the door and into the warp pipe that leads to Toad Town.
When they got to Toad Town, all the toads say merry Christmas to the plumbers and they waved back at them with their greetings.
"Happy holidays!" the plumbers said.
The plumbers had arrived at Peach's Castle and they've entered it, where they find Christmas decorations, delicious sweets and musical instruments. Princess Peach was standing at the center of the castle, waving at Mario & Luigi.
"Mario! Luigi! Glad you can make it!" Peach called out.
"Why, thank you, Peach." Mario replies.
"Thanks for inviting us for your Christmas party," Luigi plead.
"You're very welcome. Luigi, can me and Mario have a privacy talk?"
"Of course, if you guys need me, I'll be over here."
"Alright, we'll come back later or so."
Luigi nodded and walks over to the toads to help out rehearsing for the party.
"Mario, there someone else who is waiting in my room." Peach told him.
"Really? I wonder who it is?" Mario said.
"You'll see, just followed me into my room!"
Mario nodded and followed Peach into her room. In her room, they find a little yellow star named Twink who was waiting for the mustache man to arrive.
"Hey, Twink!" Peach said her star friend.
"Hi Peach… oh, and hello to you, Mario!" Twink said to her friends.
"Hi, Twink! I'm so glad that you're here! It's been awhile since we defeated Bowser and retrieved the star rod!"
"Yeah, good times."
"So Twink, what are you doing here? Did Peach invited you to her party.
"Actually… no, but Eldstar had send me to give you these invitations to you."
"Invitations? For what?"
"For your friends, of course!"
Mario remembers the time when he first met his friends during their adventure to save the Star Spirits.
"Oh yeah… my party members!" Mario replies.
"Mario, you didn't forget your friends from your last adventure, haven't you?" Peach asks him.
"Yeah, but the letter that said you and your friends had invited to your Christmas party."
"I did, but I didn't see your friends."
"Calm down, guys," said Twink, "I still got some invitation to invite your party members to her Christmas party."
Twink pulled out eight star-shaped invitations and hands it to Mario.
"Thanks, Twink! I can use those to invite my friends… I mean my party members to Peach's Christmas party." Mario said.
"That's right. It's up to you to invite your friends over to Peach's Xmas party!" Twink said.
"So we can get our Christmas party started!" Peach said.
"Peach and Twink, I will not let you two down? Okay?"
"Okay Mario, we're counting on you!"
"Good luck, finding your party members during Christmas Eve!"
"I will, see you guys later!"
Mario exited out the door as Peach and Twink waving goodbye to him.
"Bye Mario, come back when you have all your party members!"
Mario exited through the door and Luigi was still rehearsing for the Christmas party.
"What did Peach say?" Luigi asked his brother.
"She said that I have to invite my friends over to her Xmas party," Mario said to Luigi.
"Oh really?" Luigi asks.
"Yeah, and I also got these invitations from Twink!" Mario said, pulling out star-shaped invitations.
"Wait a minute, Twink is here?"
"Yes, Eldstar had sent him."
"Oh, okay… but you better head back before the party starts, Mario!"
"I will, Luigi! See ya!"
"But watch for Jr Troopa!"
Mario nods back at him and walks out the door to begin his Christmas adventure.
Hiding from the bushes, comes a yellow figure wearing his eggshell as he peeked out to see Mario passing by.
"Hmm, so Mario's inviting his friends to her Christmas party, huh? But not me, I'm gonna stop him from inviting everyone!" said Jr Troopa and he laughs maniacally.
At Goomba village, the goomba family were decorating the Christmas tree with ornaments, lights, tinsels and a bright star on top.
Goombario was looking at the snowflakes, remembering his adventure with Mario and friends.
"Hey Goombario," said Goombaria.
Goombario got startled and looks at his sister. "Hey Goombaria, I was just looking at the snowflakes and the stars thinking about Mario and his friends."
"Oh yeah, the adventure you told us about."
"Mmhmm, the one where we saved the star spirits, defeating Bowser and got the star rod back."
"Of course, and now it's Christmas Eve!"
"Yeah, I hope Mario will come back to our village!"
"Ah, I'm sure he and Peach are having their own Christmas Eve," said Goompapa.
"Yeah, your friends are stilling having Christmas in Toad Town," said Goomama.
"Yes, mom and dad. I wouldn't have Christmas Eve without my friend."
"But look at the Christmas tree we made."
"Yeah, it looks great!"
Just then, Goombario noticed that he saw his friend Mario came through the gates.
"Mom! Dad! It's Mario!" Goombario shouted.
The goomba family turned and saw Mario walking in.
"Hey Mario! What do you need?" Goompapa asks Mario.
"I'm here to give this invitation to Goombario." Mario said, pulling out a star-shaped invitation that saids: "to Goombario."
"Hm? Why are you inviting Goombario for?" Goomama asks.
"For Princess Peach's Christmas Party."
"A Christmas party? Wow! I've always wanted to go to her party!" Goombaria said, jumping up and down.
"Goombaria, calm down. I know you're excited for the Christmas Party… but Mario didn't have the invitation for you." Goomama said to her daughter.
"Aww, drats!"
"Don't worry, I can take her to the party mom."
"Oh, that's good, son."
"And Mario, thanks for giving me this invitation for Peach's Christmas party."
"No problem, see you at the Peach's castle!"
"Bye Mario!" they said as he left the village and waved goodbye to the family.
The next invitations are Kooper and Bombette, who are located at the Koopa Village.
Kooper and Koloardo are checking their expeditions for Christmas Eve while Bombette and her friends are playing hide-and-seek in the snow.
"So Kolorado, which expedition can we go on Christmas Eve?" Kooper asks "Well we already explore the Dry Ruins, how about we explore the snowy temple called the Crystal palace?" Kolorado said.
"Sounds good."
"I'm gonna find ya!" Bombette said, looking for her friends.
The blue & green bom-ombs were hiding inside the snow banks as they giggled.
"Ready?" the blue bom-omb asks.
"Ready! said the green bom-omb.
Bombette was still searching for her friends when suddenly…
"SURPRISE!" They both jumped out of the snow and scares Bombette, by accident.
"Guys, you surprised me!" Bombette said.
"Of course we did, it Christmas, you know?" said the blue bom-omb.
"Oh yeah… Christmas! Y'know, it's been months since we had our adventure with Mario & friends."
"Of course, the story you told me and blue about," said the Green bom-omb.
Bombette noticed that Mario was coming. "And speaking of which, there's Mario!"
Kooper, Kolorado and two bom-ombs noticed that Mario arrived.
"Mario!" Kooper shouted, running up to give him a hug.
"Hey, Kooper!" Mario said.
"Hi there, Mario. Merry Christmas!" Bombette said.
"Merry Christmas to you, Bombette. I have two special invitations just for you two."
He hand out two star-shaped invitations to Peach's Christmas party for Kooper and Bombette.
"Invitations? To where?" Bombette asks.
"To Peach's castle for her holiday party!"
"Wow!"
"Sounds fun."
"Hey Kolorado, I can't go with you on your expedition. I'm invited to Princess Peach's Christmas party!"
"Oh, okay. But we better head to the Crystal Palace tonight without you."
Kooper's eyes widened. "Oh yeah, but thanks, Mario!"
"You're welcome, Koopers."
"Me and Kooper are going to peach's castle for her Christmas party, guys." Bombette said to her friends.
"Wow, that'll be fun!" the green bom-omb said.
"Yeah, we're gonna be there!" the blue bom-omb said.
Mario walks up to Bombette's friends. "Come on, guys. You two are gonna be at the Christmas party with Peach, right?"
Two bom-ombs nodded. "Yes we are! Thanks for inviting us!"
"No problem! Well, I'm off to deliver more invitations for my friends! See ya!" Mario waved goodbye to them as he left.
"See you at the party!" Kooper and Bombette said.
As Mario continued walking down the Toad Town, he checked the star-shaped invitations to see which invitation is next.
"Hmm, let's see… Lady Bow… Suhsie… Spike… Watt… four invitations for my friends."
Suddenly, he heard a rustling noise coming from the bushes. He walked closer… and out came Jr Troopa!
"Hello there, Mario!" Jr Troopa said.
"Oh, it's you again! The last time we fought you after we saved the first star spirit: Eldstar." Mario pouted.
"That's right, and now I'm gonna kick your butt!"
Jr Troopa started charging at him, but Mario dodges and he fell into a cold river.
"WHOO! It's cold!" Troopa screamed.
Mario laughs. "I guess you need to warm yourself up, huh?"
Jr. Troopa starts to get upset. "Yeah, but I'll get you next time! Brr… that's cold!"
Mario continues down the path and walked pass the post office where Parakarry was finished delivering mail on Christmas Eve.
"Hey Mario, how's it going?" Parakarry said to Mario.
"Doing good, I'm delivering invitations to my friends!" Mario replies.
"Me too! I was just finished sorting out invitations for the party."
"I'm delivering the next invitation to Watt, who lives inside the toy box!"
"What about me?"
"You're inviting too."
"Oh, good!"
"Well, I'm off to deliver more invitation for my friends! Bye!"
"Goodbye, Mario!"
Mario walked down the path and enters an empty warehouse, where finds a box that leads to the world of toys.
"Alright, here goes nothing!" Mario said to himself. He jumps onto the spring and shrinks himself down into the toy box.
Mario falls and lands on top of the spring to keep him safe from getting hurt.
"Alright, I'm in the toy box. Now to find Watt!" Mario said to himself.
Mario walks up the steps of the blue station and talks to the Worker. "Excuse me, do you know where Watt is?"
The Blue Toad nodded. "I saw her, she was playing tag with the rest of the shy guys."
Mario gives him a thumbs up. "Thank you, and merry Christmas!"
Mario got onto the toy train and starts chugging down the rails.
When he arrived at the green station, he found Watt playing tag with the rest of the shy guys around the toy boxes.
"Looks like they're getting ready for Christmas too," he thought to himself.
"I'm gonna get you!" Watt said, trying to catch the fly guy.
Mario walks down the steps and waves at her. "Hi Watt!"
But Watt is very busy. "Hi Mario, can you see I'm playing tag with my friends?"
"Yeah, but I have an invitation from Eldstar saying that Peach is having a Christmas party at her castle."
"What?"
"I said, Peach is having a Christmas party!"
Watt turned to Mario and accidentally bumped into the first shy guy, then the second & the third one.
"Whoops! Sorry guys, but… tag, your it!" Watt said to the shy guys.
"Yeah, right." said the first shy guy.
"Come on guys, let's go wrap the presents up," the second shy guy said.
"Thanks for playing with us, Watt." said the third shy guy.
Watt nodded and the shy guys left, then she flew over to him.
"You're saying that I have been invited to her Christmas party?" Watt asks him.
Mario nodded and gives her the invitation. "That's right, Princess Peach is having a Christmas party and you're invited!" Mario said to Watt.
"Thanks Mario, I will be looking forward to it. By the way, I'll meet you at the castle entrance bye!"
"Okay, see you at the entrance to Peach's Castle."
Watt flew off and Mario waves goodbye to her.
"Alright, three more people to go. I hope Jr Troopa doesn't find me here." Mario said to himself.
Mario got onto the toy train and chugs all the way back to the green station.
Back in Toad Town, Mario checked the invitations to see which one is next.
"Hmm, the next invitation is Lady Boy and she lives at the mansion. But I can't go to the Forever More Forest because I might get lost in there, just like our last adventure." Mario said to himself.
Luckily, Mario notices that the pipe can take him a shortcut to Boo Mansion.
"Aha! The pipe, that'll take me to her mansion."
Mario jumps into the wrap pipe that leads him into the sewers of Toad Town. Mario looks down and reads: "Boo Mansion."
"That's the place I rather go there," said Mario.
Mario jumps onto the pipe and goes down to see Lady Bow at the Boo Mansion.
When he arrives, he noticed that the mansion is covered with Christmas decorations. "It looks like Lady Bow and the Boos had been decorating for Christmas Eve," he thought to himself.
He went inside the mansion to find the Boos are preparing to have their Christmas party, Bootler came floating down and stops in front of him.
"Ah, hello mister Mario. What do you want?" Bootler asks.
"I'm here to give this invitation to Lady Bow, would you mind give this invitation to her?" Mario asks.
Bootler nodded and takes the invitation from his hands. "I would, but thanks for Bow's invitation."
"No problem, and the Boos are having their own Christmas party. Just like Peach's Christmas Party."
"Yep, thanks for stopping by."
"No problem, see ya!"
Bootler waved goodbye to Mario as he left the mansion and enters a wrap pipe.
But when he exited the pipe that Leads to Toad Town, he notices that JR Troopa was waiting for him to fight.
"You again?" Mario asks.
"That's right, I'm here to get my revenge on you… since I fell into the cold river." Jr Troopa said, warming himself up with his scarf.
"And you're all warmed up?"
"Yep, now it's time for payback!"
Jr Troopa starts to charge at him.
"Oh no, you don't!" Mario said, he jumps up and Jr Troopa bumped his head into a warp pipe.
"Ouch, that smarts!" Jr Troopa said, feeling dizzy.
"That'll take of you, I'm off to the Lavalava Island, see ya!" Mario waved goodbye to the eggshell boy, then runs off.
"I'll… get you… next time," Jr Troopa said, then fainted.
Mario walks over to the boardwalk where he meets a whale named "Blowout." (Note: I named the whale, Blowout.)
"Hi there, Blowout!" Mario greeted to Blowout.
"Hi there, Mario. What do you need?" Blowout asks.
"I need to go to Lavalava island to deliver this invitation to Sushie." Mario said to Blowout.
"Really?"
"Yeah, can you take me there?"
"I can do that, hop on!"
Mario hops onto the whale and swims off to the island called: Lavalava Island.
When they got there, Mario jumps and the whale and looks at him.
"Thanks for the ride!" Mario said.
"No problem, see you later!" Blowout said.
Mario walks-along the seaside until he finally reached the village where the Yoshis roamed.
Mario looks around that the Yoshis are having their own Christmas party, just like Peach & Lady Bow's.
"Well, the Yoshis are preparing to have Christmas party… or a festival!" Mario thought.
Just then, he found Sushie talking the Yoshis about their Christmas party.
"There he is," thought Mario.
"And then I asked to the baby Yoshi about what she would like for Christmas." Sushie said to the two Yoshis.
"And what's that?" asked the red Yoshi.
"She wanted a bouncing ball!"
They laughed and the Cyan Yoshi saids with a smile on his face. "That's a good thing you told us about."
"Yeah, and then I asked another Baby Yoshi and he said he wanted to sail into the ocean!" Sushie said and they heard the voice of the baby Yoshi.
"Hey! Would you guys keep it down? We're trying to get some sleep." said the baby Yoshi.
"Oh yeah, sorry." Sushie said to the baby Yoshi. "Sorry about that, guys. The baby Yoshis are sleeping. How about we talk another day?"
"Sounds good, me and the Red Yoshi are gonna have fun. See ya!" the Cyan Yoshi said as he and the Red Yoshi left. Mario walks up to the purple cheap-cheap. "Excuse me, Sushie? It's me, Mario." he asked, Sushie turned and saw Mario standing behind him.
"Oh! Hi, Mario!" Sushie said.
"I came here to give you this invitation to Princess Peach's castle for her Christmas party."
"Wait, Peach is having a Christmas party?"
"Yep."
"Oh cool, I've always wanted to go to her party!"
"Me too, Twink had given me these invitations to invite you to the party!"
"Thanks, Mario!"
"You're welcome, Sushie. I better head back to Toad Town by riding onto the whale."
"Wait a minute, you got to the island by riding on the whale?"
"That's right!"
"Just like the one where we first met?"
"Mhm!"
"Cool!"
"Well, I better get going. I better deliver one more invitation, and that is Spike!"
"Alright, see you at the Christmas party!"
"I will, bye Sushie, bye guys!" Mario said, waving goodbye to Sushie and the Yoshis.
The Yoshis and Sushie waved goodbye to Mario as he got onto the whale and swims off, including the Village Leader.
Back at Toad Town, Mario walks up to the door that leads to the flower fields.
"Hey Minh T, mind if I can go through this door? I need to deliver this invitation for Lakilester." Mario asks her.
"Of course, anytime you want!" Minh T replies.
"Thanks, and merry Christmas!"
Mario opens the door and walks through it, then it closes.
Mario walks out the door and saw snowflakes came tumbling down, instead of flower pedals.
"The snowfalkes, it's almost Christmas." Mario thought to himself, he turned and saw the Wise Wisterwood is decorating with ornaments and Christmas lights that the Bub-ulbs made.
"Welcome back, Mario. What do you need?" the Wise Wisterwood asks.
"I'm here to give this invitation to a guy named Lakilster… I mean Spike," said Mario, holding out an invitation that saids: "Spike."
"I see, Spiker and his girlfriend, Lakilulu and the other Bub-ulbs are having to decorate me as a Christmas tree."
"Yeah, but can you tell me where he is?"
As the Wise Wisterwood was about to speak, someone shouted: "I'm right here!"
They looked up and saw Spike came floating down from the sky, then stops between them.
"Hey Mario, it's good to see you again!" Spike said, giving a handshake to Mario.
"Hi Lakister…" Mario saids by Spike utters him.
"It's Spike," he replies.
"Oh yeah, Spike. I'm giving you this invitation to Peach's party."
Spike took the invitation from Mario's hand and reads it. "Really? A party? At Peach's castle?"
Mario nodded in yes. "Exactly!"
"Cool… but what about Lakilulu? She can go to her party, right?"
"I think Lakilulu can go with you too."
"Awesome dude! Also, I better go help my girlfriend and the Bub-ulbs decorating the tree."
"I believe what you mean is Christmas tree, Spike." said the Wise Wisterwood.
"Whatever. Anyways, bye Mario!" he said, then he zooms off.
Mario waved goodbye to Spike as he entered through the door.
Back at Peach's Castle, Princess Peach and Twink are waiting for Mario and his friends to arrive.
"What you do think Mario is doing?" Peach asks Twink.
"Maybe he's still delivering invitations to his party members for Christmas," Twink replies.
"I hope he's okay."
"Don't worry, Peach. He and his friends will come to your party when it starts."
"Yeah, we can't start a Christmas party without them."
Just then, Twink noticed that Mario is coming back. "Peach, look! It's Mario!"
Peach turned and saw him. "Mario! You're back! How did it go? Did you send those invitations to your friends?"
"Yes I did, and they said that they will come over to your castle in just a minute," said Mario.
"Oh, how delightful!"
"Eldstar is gonna be so proud of you!"
"Yeah. In fact, my friends are gonna be here right about… now!"
They looked and saw Mario's friends coming up to the entrance.
Goombario is with Goombaria, Kooper, Bombette & her friends, Parakarry, Lady Bow along with his butler: Bootler, Watt, Sushie, Spike and his girlfriend: Lakilulu.
"Hi Goombario, hi guys!" Peach said.
"Hi Peach, thanks for the invitations that our friend gave it to us!" Goombario said.
"That's nice."
"Well, I actually delivered the invitations before I left."
"Oh, Mario."
"Also, what can we do about Jr Troopa?" Lady Bow asks.
"Don't worry, I have a present that'll make him happy." Peach said, pulling out a present for Jr Troopa.
"Sounds like a good idea, Peach!" Goombaria said.
Suddenly, Jr Troopa came out from the bushes and looks at Mario and the others.
"There you are, now it's time for payback!" Jr Troopa said.
He began to charge towards them and Mario turns at him, holding a present for him.
"What is this? Is this a trick?" he asks.
"No. It's a present, just for you." Mario said to him.
"Should I open it?"
"Yeah, open it."
Jr Troopa opens the present and finds a stuffed-doll inside. "Woah, a doll… for me?"
Mario nods. "That's right, this doll is for you. Merry Christmas!"
"Wow, thank you, guys. But next time, I'm gonna stay good for the rest of my lives." Jr Troopa said, then leaves. "Merry Christmas, guys!" Everyone waved goodbye to Jr Troopa as he left.
"Come on, everyone. Let's get this party started," said Peach.
Back inside the castle, the Christmas party was in a full swing. Luigi was conducting the band with Christmas music.
"I really know how to conduct a band!" Luigi said.
Lady Bow was dancing with Bootler the butler, Goombario and Goombaria were having cookies, Bombette & her friends are talking to each other, and Sushie was hopping around during music.
When Princess Peach walked up the stairs, she decided the make an announcement.
"Everyone, toads… and Mario. I have to make an announcement for Christmas Eve. You see, ever since Mario and his friends worked together and retrieve the Star Rod from Bowser's hands. And I wanted to say Happy Holidays to Goombario, Kooper, Bombette, Parakarry, Lady Bow, Watt, Sushie and Lakilester."
"It's Spike!"
"Right, sorry. And I wanted to wish Mario and his friends… a merry Christmas from me and Twink!" Peach announced.
"That's right!" Twink said.
"And now, let the holidays begin!"
And so, everyone continued celebrating the holidays while singing "Deck the Halls." Mario and Peach decided to go outside and watch the fireworks and the snowflakes tumbling down, just like the Flower Fields that he saw.
It was a best Christmas they'll never forget.
