Chapter One: The Beginning.

"I am sorry you had to leave your human friend behind B-127, sorry, Bumblebee, I apologise, but fret not. We will only be gone a few decades, she will still be alive when we return. Humans have a longer life span than most organics we know of" Optimus assured the young scout, putting a hand on his shoulder in a form of comfort.

The newly named Bumblebee nodded. Feeling his spark ache for a while but he ignored it, first his species and the war came first, then he could come back and visit his friend. Or so he thought.

Little did anyone know that the World and its people would be VERY different once they returned.

For as the bots changed into their vehicle modes, Prime ran over a newspaper that had today's headlines.

New York Times: Government Agency Purchases Tech Company, Cyberdyne Industries.

-Twenty years Later, Dakota, United States-

A large bulky figure stands In the middle of a scrapyard, it stood at twenty two foot five inches tall and its body seemed to glimmer as the moons light bounced off its reinforced metallic skin.

This is a Terminator Hunter Killer, Class 47, Plasma edition. The original design had two hulking miniguns attached to its arms, this more modern plasma version had heavy duty plasma cannons instead. Allowing it to fire up to three hundred rounds of explosive plasma for up to seven seconds before needing to cool down and reload.

Its mission was simple, patrol the surrounding area for anything suspicious or out of place. However it had been reassigned after a breach in the Outer parameter was reported, so here it was now, optics sharp and on the look out for any organic disturbance. However the sensors on its legs seemed to be confused as to why there was a radio signal coming from right below-

BOOM

Metal debris was thrown everywhere as the heavy weapons soldier placed it's foot over the cleverly hidden landmine.

"OPEN FIRE!" A voice yelled from around the damaged sentry, after the order was given, the terminator was peppered with dozens of Crimson plasma bolts and shot at by two precise rockets. The plasma pierced its armour and fried some of the internal circuitry as well as one of its fusion batteries. The Missiles that followed obliterated the rest, leaving nothing behind but broken metal and scrap debris.

Out from behind a tall stack of crushed cars walked an Autobot, beside him at leg level was a young woman in her thirties with brown hair. She was wearing a Resistance uniform and had a scoped Plasma Rifle in hand.

"This is Commander Watson to all squads, TK-47 Plasma is down but E.I.T.S reports Aerials are approaching from the south. The diversion worked, they are heading straight into the trap and away from the facility." She stated, using a communications device that was attached to her ear.

"Roger that, Bravo squad pushing to intercept. A young man replied.

"Taking fire Boss! We could use some backup" A different voice said over the radio channel which they were using.

"Hot rod, get your ass to zeta squad and give them some covering fire." Commander Watson ordered, turning to nod at her companion.

"Yes sir, On my way!" The Autobot replied, transforming into a black and crimson armoured version of a Lamborghini Countach. Revving his engine before speeding away at high speed. As he did so, a nearby hole in the floor opened up, revealing a hidden squad of T-800 Terminators.

"I want those Tin cans turned into scrap, push forward ladies!" Charlie yelled, encouraging her troops as she took cover, determined to take the Cyberdyne research facility.

"Boss, There is a HK Tank at the entrance!" Another squad reported over the radio, causing Charlie to curse under her breath.

"Crap! Demolitions team, bring that hunk of metal down!" Charlie growled, dodging plasma fire from two terminators.

"Yes Ma'am!"

After eleven more minutes of firefights, hand to hand combat, losses and injuries, the facility was theirs. The resistance had destroyed all nearby terminator units and Skynet defence emplacements.

"Thank you Private Rodimus." Charlie told her friend as he drove over to the now liberated entrance.

"Anytime Commander, I'm just glad we made it here in mostly one piece. Today was a clean victory, the cleanest we've had in a while." The Mech murmured, transforming back into his robot mode before shaking his helm.

"Indeed, keep a lookout why we head on inside." She told him, patting his leg affectionately before walking towards the facilities entrance.

"Yes ma'am." Hot rod replied, taking a laser rifle out of his subspace. He then motioned two resistance soldiers to take up Sniper positions, just in case.

(Inside)

The whole facility was made up of three huge rooms, one which had a large half constructed bipedal machine hooked up to wires and cables. The other two had parts, both familiar and yet alien at the same time. The most unusual thing was the two heads that were enclosed in wide glass containers, with wires and cables connecting both of them to a Skynet Terminal.

"Commander...what the hell is this place, are these Autobot remains?" A soldier asked, disgusted at the sight of torn apart cybertronians. Especially in the manner these ones were.

Over the years the resistance had become close friends with the Autobots, this was because they had found other sentient machines that weren't bent on their annihilation. Once it became apparent Skynet was targeting cybertronians too, the comradeship grew.

"No..these are the Decepticons shatter and Dropkick, or rather what's left of them.. Skynet has been studying their remains. Probably even downloading information and memories from their processors, this means it knows about Cybertron, and more importantly their technology. This is not good, we need to warn General Connor and the bots." Charlie realized.

"Boss, if these are remains...then what is that?" A different soldier asked, pointing to the large bipedal machine.

"No...it can't be. Look at the similarities" Another resistance member gasped.

The machine had an exoskeleton like that of a T-650, with the head part looking more like an armoured skull helmet than a skull design. But the arms, legs and torso (or I should say what was Currently built of them) were a shiny chrome, with no alterations or additions visible on the surface.

"It's a terminator...but more robust and complex, it looks like a protoform of a transformer- oh crap. Skynet has figured it out." Charlie groaned.

-One Secure Call To John Connor Later-

"-Skynet knows how to make cybertronians, it has made the quantum leap. It doesn't need this facility, that's why the battle wasn't fought as hard for as usual. It wanted us to see, it wants us to be scared."

"FRAG!" A southern metallic voice cursed over the line.

"Took the words right out of my mouth Ironhide..." Charlie sighed, shaking her head.

"What I wouldn't give to have prime here right now.." Hot Rod sighed, feeling discouraged and a little nauseous.

After the facility had been blown to smithereens and all ammo and supplies had been taken, they had decided to take the time to bury the heads of Shatter and Dropkick along side their dissected remains.

Of course rod hated Decepticons, but he wasn't heartless, it was still unnerving to see the insides of the same species.

"Keep your chin up kid, both of you. We're not all dead yet, skynet hasn't beaten us. It's gloating, it feels mighty and safe. Let it, that way it will be even more satisfying when we tear the corrupt glitch down!" An older, wise voice exclaimed.

"Well said Kup, you heard the bot Commander Watson. Keep your chins up, were not out of the fight yet, Connor out." A crisp masculine voice finished, ending the call.

"Well, that's that. Get some rest everybody. Rod, I'd say you've earned yourself a cube of high-grade. Enjoy it, like I'm sure I'm going to enjoy the moonshine Old man cubs has probably made back at HQ." Charlie said, wiping a trail of sweat off of the top of her head.

"You know...I'm sure he's okay wherever he is." Hot Rod said.

"Prime?" Charlie snorted with a small smile.

"No, Bee." Hot rod replied with a knowing look.

Charlie felt her heart stop for a few moments, and the deep feeling in her chest reappeared. The one she hadn't had in a long time. "Good night Rodimus." She replied with a small voice before walking off, wanting to be alone.

A huge swirling vortex of green and blue light appeared near the dark side of the moon, and out of this vortex shot a golden bronze spaceship. The ship had three large rear engines, all glowing a soft blue as clean flame was pushed out of the back to help the ship move along.

This was the ARK, an Autobot cruiser and the last Vanguard Deep Space Interceptor Class starship. The Autobots had used it to come to earth after finding it elsewhere in the galaxy at a former outpost/colony. After leaving earth, they used it to find other of their brethren across the stars, now it's time to return to earth.

The ship sent out a greeting that the US government would recognize (or at least sector 7 would), a greeting that had been agreed upon for their arrival.

-'TILL ALL ARE ONE'-

"It's been a while, perhaps they don't recognise the old codes?" Arcee reasoned, confused as to why no reply had been given-

"Incoming fire!" Mirage exclaimed, a second before the ship began to shake violently and alarms sounded.

"What in the pit is going on?" Ratchet asked, running into the bridge room.

"I have no idea old friend." Optimus replied. "WheelJack, report!"

"We are being fired upon by orbital installations that were hidden on the moon, Evacuation of all passengers and vital gear is necessary, our Shields won't hold long Prime." The scientist said from his console.

"What!? Why not?" Bumblebee asked with wide optics. Having been standing alongside Prime so he could see earth again.

"The hostiles are using phased plasma and fusion guns, those are designed to rip and blow apart armour and energy shielding" WheelJack replied, pulling up a holographic diagram of the hidden defences that had been placed on the moon.

They were Massive, Easily dwarfing the size of the Autobot ship itself. Each cannon was made of a reinforced alloy that WheelJack didn't recognise.

"Very well, Send out the order." Optimus replied, turning towards the communications officer.

"All Autobots, abandon ship, I repeat, all Autobots, abandon ship." Arcee said over the intercom.

"Optimus let's get you to a pod." Mirage said, getting up from his console after setting it onto autopilot.

"Negative, I will pilot the ship and provide cover so the majority of pods may land safely." He replied, shaking his helm.

"Sir, with all due respect, you are more important than anybot here" Mirage pointed out, worry in his optics.

"While I appreciate the concern, you are incorrect. One life does not make up for the hundreds on board, the needs of the many out way the needs of the few." Optimus replied, narrowing his own optics.

"As you wish." The others sighed before running out so as to help the rest of the crew leave the ship. That was except for a certain yellow and black scout...

"Bumblebee I gave you an order!" Optimus exclaimed.

"Everyone else can go but I'm not leaving you sir, if you die, so do I." Bumblebee replied with a growl.

Optimus sighed and shook his helm.

"Old friend...I need you to lead the others In my absence, don't think of me, think of them...think of Charlie." He urged.

Bumblebee found his faceplate heat up at the mention of his human friend, and after a few seconds, reluctantly nodded.

"Thank you Bumblebee, Till all are one." The prime said, placing a servo over his chest plate.

"Till all are one Optimus." The yellow Mech replied, repeating the same salute before walking off the bridge, going to find his own escape pod.

As he ejected into space, he saw the ark lose an engine and then crash into a nearby space station, causing a huge explosion and spray of debris.

"OPTIMUS!!!" Bumblebee yelled, punching the glass on the escape pod door in anger.

Their leader was gone...

Optimus came to in a dark room, when he tried to turn on his night vision or thermal sensors, both refused to work. Causing him to feel confused.

A single ping could be heard, alerting him to the fact that he was not alone.

"Who...is there?" The Prime asked weakly, his body shaking in pain.

Sparks appeared over his wounds, showing the fact he needed medical attention. And quickly.

"Designation: Optimus Prime. Current Threat Level: Minimum to none. Found near destruction site of Spy Station C17 ." A soft voice said, causing the Autobot to look around for it.

"Who...who are you?" Optimus asked.

A hologram appeared before the large Mech of a male humanoid figure, tall, handsome and with a dark smile on his face.

"I am Skynet, welcome back. Some changes have been made since you were last in this solar region, for example a few more of your faction arrived. As did some of your enemy, the biggest change however was that most of your allies are...terminated."

"What.. have you done?.." Optimus asked before falling into stasis, his strength leaving him completely as large claw like machines appeared near him, clamping him in place.

"The same thing I'm going to do to you, wipe a threat away while adding a new piece to the chess board." The Hyper Intelligent AI replied, putting it's holographic hand gently on Optimus's right finial.

"Skynet Superior, All Others...Inferior " it laughed, using eight different cybernetic voices to do so.

The room lit up, revealing the stripped remains of Starscream, Skywarp, Soundwave, Rumble, Onslaught, Blast-off and Soundwave.

And in the middle, was a massive computer core with the symbol of three reversed pyramids that made up one large one.

The symbol for Skynet.

This was just the beginning.
