Every year, near the end of December, Santa Claus delivers presents to all the good children in the world.
However, over time, Santa needs some help from others to deliver the presents for him. So, he occasionally hired other beings to deliver presents for him every year on Christmas Eve. And this year, it will be no exception…. Except that it is going to be a most challenging yet interesting turnabout.
Let me start from the beginning….
In the realm beyond the human world, powerful beings controlled different forces of nature, and two beings were opposite and rival. They were known as the Miser Sisters.
The northern side of the world was ruled by the beautiful, elegant, and a little bit sassy Snow Miser, while the southern side of the world was the domain of her counterpart and half-sister, the hotheaded Heat Miser.
They controlled the world's weather, and their powers were so great they could even turn the world upside down if they did so (and it did happen once). Fortunately, a certain boy with a unique watch with power and his friends stopped the Mister Sisters, and now they were more well-behaved… most of the time.
"Mwah, what a lovely day to chill," Snow Miser said as she stretched her back.
Suddenly, a ball of hot rock came throwing towards her, which she barely dodged.
"Hey, watch it!" She yelled at the opposite side of her domain.
On the other side, it was her half-sister, Heat Miser, who happened to be cleaning out some hot molten rocks.
"Huh? What are you complaining about this morning?" Heat Miser sneered.
"Excuse me! You were the one who threw this hunk of coal at me!" Snow Miser accused her.
"I didn't throw it at you! I was cleaning out my old pile of coals to get ready for the BBQ in the southern hemisphere. As you should know, it is summer right now at this time of the year," Heat Miser argued.
"Well, don't just throw it at my precious turf, you hothead!" Snow Miser yelled back.
"What did you say, ice princess?! Take this!" Heat Miser began throwing fireballs at her.
Snow Miser saw this as retaliation, so she decided to throw back her icy daggers.
They didn't notice a black cloud forming above them as they fought. Suddenly, a flash of lightning struck down, and thunder roared. They continued to fight, ignoring everything else until….
"Girls! Stop it once!" shouted a powerful female voice.
Snow Miser and Heat Miser, who were in the middle of the fight and yanking each other's hair, noticed the source of the voice. It belonged to their mighty grandmother and faithful world watcher, Mother Nature.
The two sisters quickly stopped their antic and cleaned themselves. "Yes, Grandmama," they obliged.
"You two are just like your fathers, but I didn't summon you two to punish you both. Rather, I have a job for you two," Mother Nature said.
"A job?" They both repeated. They quickly looked at each other, seeing that they said the same thing simultaneously, but huffed away and looked away.
"Anyway, please listen. As you both know, Santa Claus is a busy man around this time of the year. Christmas is almost here, and he always hires someone to help him every year," Mother Nature said.
"Yes, I am aware of that, Grandmama," Snow Miser said in a politer, calmer tone. "Oh! Let me guess. Has he decided to choose me to help with his sleigh to deliver the presents this year? My, I would be honored to do…
"Say what?! There is no way the old Good Saint Nick would pick you up to deliver the Christmas presents! Someone more reliable like me should be one!" Heat Miser laughed.
"Blasphemy! How rude can you be! I know I am more capable of delivering a present for Mr. Claus. You will burn the presents!" Snow Miser argued.
"Hey! That isn't true!" They started bickering with each other, but Mother Nature clapped her hand before it escalated, causing a mighty thunder to roar.
"Silence!" Mother Nature yelled, stopped them, and made them not speak. "Now, as I was saying, Santa Claus hires somebody to help deliver his presents every year, and he decided to choose both of you to deliver them this year."
This news shocked both the sisters. "Say what?!" "Pardon?!"
"But, just in case and make sure that both of you stay out of trouble, I requested Mr. Claus to have someone assist you both on this special request of his," Mother Nature added.
"Someone to assist us?" Heat Miser repeated.
"Who could that be?" Snow Miser asked.
"It will be your cousin, Cloud Miser," Mother Nature said.
"WWWHHHHHAAAATTT?!" Both Miser Sisters gasped.
Suddenly, music started playing as white clouds amassed together in the sky.
Two clouds parted away, revealing a young lady with white puffy twin-tail hair, grayish blue eyes, and a white body made of pure clouds descending from the sky on a cloud.
I'm Miss Gray Christmas. I'm Miss. Rain.
I'm Miss Huff Puffer. I'm Miss 50 degree.
They call me Cloud Miser, whatever I touch.
Blows away in a gust…. I'm too much.
Snow Miser and Heat Miser looked at each other briefly, feeling both surprised and dumbfounded as well as annoyed.
Tiny cloud beings appeared as they danced around the singer.
She's Miss Gray Christmas. She's Miss Rain.
That's right.
She's Miss Huff Puffer. She's Miss 50 Degree.
Friends call me Cloud Miser, whatever I touch.
Blows away in a gust…. I'm too much.
The perfect day I want to see is always 50 degrees.
If it's 40, 60, hotter, colder, I'll kick up a breeze!
"Personally, I think Gray Christmas is underrated," Cloud Miser said, getting a weird look from the Mister Sisters before the formal returned to singing.
She's Miss Gray Christmas. She's Miss Rain.
That's me!
She's Miss Huff Puffer. She's Miss 50 Degree.
They call me Cloud Miser, whatever I touch.
Blows away in a gust…. I'm too much.
Too much.
"Rrrrrrrrrrrgggh!" Heat Miser groaned. "Why herrrrrrrrrrrrrr!"
"For once, I agree with hothead here," Snow Miser nodded. "Grandmama, why Cloud Miser of all people?"
Before we go on, let me explain a bit of the history between the Miser Sisters and Cloud Miser.
Cloud Miser is the daughter of the Spirit of the Northern Wind and the Goddess of Rain. Her power allows her to control and create clouds that help to provide rain for plants and winds to keep animals and people cool during the hot summer days. She is the regulator of the world temperature in simple terms.
Unfortunately, the Miser Sisters didn't like Cloud Miser that much. Not because of her role in the balance of nature, but she was just…. Plain to them.
"Well, out of all the people in the world, Cloud Miser here is the one who knows how to keep you two behave. Besides, this is a great chance to get along well. It's been a while since you three were together," Mother Nature stated.
Snow Miser and Heat Miser moaned and groaned under their mouth. Not only that they must be together, but they also must deal with Cloud Miser.
"Now, Cloudy, you keep an eye on them, would you?" Mother Nature asked.
"Yup, sure thing," Cloud Miser said nonchalantly. "Whatever you say, Grandmama."
"Good," she nodded. "Now, off you three goes."
"Uuuuuuuuhhhh!" Both Miser Sisters groaned in annoyance.
"Come, Snowy and Heaty. Ride on my cloud, and we'll go and pick up Santa's presents," Cloud Miser said as she prepared a ride for them.
"Do we have to?" Heat Miser protested.
"Exactly what I was thinking," Snow Miser said.
Suddenly, they both felt a cold chill down their spine as Mother Nature gloomed over them.
Without saying anything, they quickly jumped onto Cloud Miser's cloud, and they swooshed away as fast as possible.
The Miser Trio arrived at Santa's workshop to get all the bags of presents. The elves helped them load up on the sleigh, and the reindeer was also ready.
Mrs. Claus was watching the operation. "Well, it looks like it is already. I hope this year goes well."
"Don't worry, Mrs. Claus. I, Snow Miser, will make sure that all present…"
"You, Ice Princess, will deliver all the presents?" Heat Miser interrupted her half-sister. "In your dream! It will be me who will deliver all the presents!"
"Don't be a show-off!" Snow Miser argued.
"Hey, now," Cloud Miser stopped them. "Relax. All three of us will deliver Mr. C's presents. Don't make Mrs. C more worried than she is."
Heat Miser and Snow Miser stopped talking as they went back to work, leaving Mrs. Claus alone.
After finishing the loading of the presents and the reindeer fed well, the Miser Trio set off to deliver the presents to the world.
They went up and up into the sky, where they could see the beautiful full moon. Below them, they could see the big, blue, vast ocean. Down below, they could see a big ship with the face of a lion in front of it and a big Jolly Roger with a straw hat on the flag.
The first place they arrived to deliver the present was a town in Japan, where strange phenomena occur almost daily. The sign for the city said, "Sakura New Town."
"Alright. We're at our first stop," Cloud Miser said as she landed on some rooftops of the house.
"Then, I will take this bag of presents," Cold Miser said.
"No, I will take it!" Heat Miser said.
"No, it's mine!" Cold Miser argued.
"Girls, girls. Relax," Cloud Miser said. "Let's share the bags of presents. Plus, there is more than one. You can take this, Heaty, and you take that, Snowy."
Heat Miser and Snow Miser stopped fighting as they began their work. Each trio member quietly sneaks into people's houses without them noticing. Each girl carefully and quietly put the right presents under the trees and stockings if there were some. Before moving on to their next destination, they did that for all the town's houses and buildings.
They arrived at a city with a famous school that teaches new generations of superheroes. After that, they moved to another big city where people lived harmoniously with technology. So far, their work has been going well, and surprisingly, Snow Miser and Heat Miser were behaving well together.
"Well, so far, we are doing pretty good," Cloud Miser said as she was controlling the sleigh. "What do you both think? Isn't it lovely tonight?"
"It's a little bit too chilly for me," Heat Miser commented.
"And it's a bit too hot for me," Snow Miser added.
"What's wrong, Ice Princess? You cannot handle the heat?" Heat Miser teased.
"So what? It's not that hot. But, if you could move a bit away from me, then I would feel a bit better," Snow Miser pointed out.
"No can do, Miss Ice Princess. There isn't enough room in this sleigh!" Heat Miser stated.
"Then, make some room, you hothead, and stop calling me Ice Princess!" Snow Miser yelled.
"Oh yeah!" Heat Miser started arguing as they began fighting in the sleigh.
Their fight made the sleigh rock back and forth, left to right.
"Woah! Hey, take it easy, you two!" Cloud Miser tried to stop them.
Heat Miser began throwing fireballs at Snow Miser while Snow Miser returned with her icicles.
One of the heat balls and the icicles snapped the ropes that connected the reindeer and the sleigh. They began falling from the sky.
"Aaaaaaaaaaahhh!" Heat Miser shouted.
"Yeah!" Snow Miser screamed.
Cloud Miser quickly formed a cloud around the sleigh as fast as possible. They crashed into the ground, but thankfully, the impact was weakened enough that it didn't destroy the sleigh.
However, the impact did make the bag of presents rip apart, and all the inside presents flew out of it and scattered around the ground.
Heat Miser and Cold Miser were laid down on the ground until they regained their consciousness.
"Ouch!" Heat Miser woke up as her hair blazed up again.
"That was a hard crash," Snow Miser said as she snapped her neck and arm.
"Hey, where is Cloud Miser?" Heat Miser asked.
"Uuuuuuhhh…" The Miser Sisters looked around until they could hear a painful moan. When they checked, they gasped.
Cloud Miser was injured and couldn't get up or move.
"Cloud Miser!" The Mister Sisters shouted.
"Don't worry, Snowy and Heaty. I am fine…oof." When she tried to get up, she felt immense pain.
"Cloud Miser, don't move!" Snow Miser stated. "Heat Miser, start a fire or something! Help her to keep warm!"
"Um, yeah! OK!" Heat Miser threw a single fireball to make a fireplace.
Snow Miser dragged Cloud Miser from the crash site and took her near the fireplace to keep her warm.
She checked her body and placed her cold hands to heal her wound.
"I need something to wrap her wound!" Snow Miser said.
"I got it! Let's use the ripped piece of the present bags!" Heat Miser said as she grabbed some of the pieces.
"That's perfect!" Snow Miser noted as she tended to Cloud Miser's injury and wrapped it around her body.
Snow Miser wrapped some of the ripped cloths to make an ice pack for Cloud Miser's injury while she and Heat Miser sat near the fireplace.
"There. That should do it for now," Snow Miser said.
"Oh, man. We… We missed it up so bad," Heat Miser said, feeling sad. "This… This is all my fault!"
"No, Heat Miser. It is also my fault, too," Snow Miser admitted. "Our antic caused this accident and hurt our cousin and sister. We are both at fault for all this; all we did was fight all night."
"Right," Heat Miser complied. "I'm… I'm sorry, Snow Miser. I know I should not have said all those mean things to you, and I'm sorry about throwing the old coal at you or into your turf."
"No, I should be apologizing to you. I said harsh things to you, and you were only doing your chores," Snow Miser said.
The Miser Sisters looked at each other silently until they grinned and began chuckling until it became laughter that filled the area.
"So now, what are we going to do?" Heat Miser said. "We must still finish the delivery, or Christmas will be ruined!"
Snow Miser looked worried but lightly smiled. "We are the Miser Sisters. We fight but can accomplish anything if we put our differences aside tonight. Let's finish the delivery, Heat Miser."
Heat Miser warmly smiled. "You are right. Let's do this thing!"
Both sisters shook hands together, creating a bit of stream. They got into work. They descended some trees and made it into a replacement rail foot for the sleigh. Just then, the reindeer came back to them, and Snow Miser used her ice power to freeze the snapped roper together. The two sisters carried and put the injured Cloud Miser safely in the backseat, and they flew off.
They went from town to town, city to city, country to country, the world to other worlds. They stopped at every house to leave all the presents for all the good children. They delivered it all, and the sun rose when they headed home.
They safely landed back at the North Pole, where Mrs. Claus, the elves, and Mother Nature awaited them.
"There they are!" one of the elves pointed. "They arrived back, delivering all of the presents!"
They welcomed back the Miser Trio, but the elves, who were quick on their feet, noticed the injured Cloud Miser and quickly took her to the surgery room for further checking.
Heat Miser and Snow Miser waited outside, looking very concerned. Mother Nature, Mrs. Claus, and Santa Claus were also waiting.
The red sign turned off, and the surgeon elf exited the room.
"Doc, what happened?! Is Cloud Miser going to be OK?" Heat Miser asked.
"She will be alright, right?" Snow Miser questioned.
Head Surgeon grinned. "She will be just fine. Thanks to you two, it seems like most of her injuries were taken care of. She will need some rest."
The Miser Sisters looked relieved to hear that. Mother Nature also sighed with relief, too. A bit later, Cloud Miser was resting in the infirmary room.
"Cloud Miser, we…." Heat Miser started but hesitated a bit.
Snow Miser helped her. "We're sorry for hurting you. Our fight caused the sleigh to crash."
Cloud Miser gave a warm grin. "No worry. I am fine. It was you two who saved my life. It was my fault for not keeping you both in check."
"No, Cloud Mi, Cloudy. It is our fault that made you be here!" Heat Miser changed.
"Indeed! We are accountable, not you!" Snow Miser added.
"Well, look at the bright side," Mother Nature said. "Despite your differences, you put that aside and save Cloud Miser and completed in delivering all the presents in the world."
"Ho, Ho, Ho! That's right, Mother Nature!" Everyone turned to the door, and the good ol' Saint Nick was before them.
"Santa Claus!" Miser Sisters gasped.
"Ho, ho, ho! I am here!" Santa Claus joyfully laughed. "Now then, Miser Sisters, it seems to me that you have learned a valuable lesson today. With that, I will reward you with a gift!"
Santa Claus presented them with a gift. The Miser Sisters looked both curious and wondered what could be inside of it.
"Go on. Open it," Santa Claus allowed.
They opened the present and inside were three charms. One was a light blue, the second was an orange-reddish, and the third was white.
"Charms?" Snow Miser looked.
"What are they for? And why are there three?" Heat Miser asked.
"One for each of the Miser Sisters, of course. Including our current patient," Santa Claus pointed out.
"And together, they make it into something special," Mrs. Claus added.
"Something special?" Snow Miser repeated.
The three misers looked at their charms, and when they put it together, the three charms made into a heart, and it glowed warmly and brightly.
"Woah," Mother Nature awed.
"It's a heart!" Heat Miser exclaimed.
"It is," Snow Miser kindly grinned.
"I guess this charm symbolizes our friendship and sisterhood," Cloud Miser said, grinning.
While people can bicker and fight, we can also come together. There may be suffering, but there is also happiness. When two different sides come together for a common goal, they do something good for all. Remember this, and I wish you all happy holidays and a brand new year.
Merry Christmas, everyone! It's been a very, very, VERY long time since I posted anything here. Let's just say I've been busy.
I hope you all have a wonderful, safe holiday with your family, loved one, and friends.
See you all next year, in 2024!
