==========================================

Obito Uchiha slowly opened his eyes, taking in his surroundings with confusion. He shouldn't be alive, yet the sensation of cold air against his hair made him doubt his demise. Slumped against a tree in an unfamiliar forest, Obito soon realized he was wearing a mask. He removed it and gingerly touched his face, finding the scars from the incident during the Third Ninja War still present, but his second eye socket empty. Glancing down, he noticed he was clad in the familiar black cloak adorned with red clouds. Confusion crept onto his face, contrasting with his typically stoic expression. Curiosity led him to examine the mask's front, revealing an orange design with swirling patterns around the single eyehole.

"What's happening..." Obito muttered, his mind filled with questions. He should have perished. The phantom pain from the black rod piercing his abdomen lingered, a reminder of his supposed demise. He should have reunited with Rin, Minato-sensei, and his grandmother in the afterlife. But this wasn't the afterlife; it was undeniably reality. Gazing at his surroundings again, all he could see were trees in the distance, while dark clouds billowed from the east in the night sky. A mountain stood to his north.

Attempting to discern his location, Obito noticed something peculiar. Despite lacking the Rinnegan, he could still sense the presence of nature energy in the air. It felt denser here, far more than in the Elemental Nations. Was he in another land or, perhaps, an entirely different dimension?

Taking a deep breath, Obito tried to gather his thoughts. He was alive, despite the chakra receiver seemingly delivering a final blow. He was somewhere far from the Elemental Nations. And he resembled his former self from before the war, donning the Akatsuki uniform and the distinctive orange spiral mask. That realization struck him: Obito Uchiha had died—twice, in fact. His identity as Madara Uchiha had been exposed, and the real Madara had emerged. The only persona left was Tobi.

Maybe Obito should remain dead. He had cherished his time as Tobi and wouldn't mind being him again. He donned the mask once more, securing it on his face, and used the tree for support as he rose to his feet. His body ached as if he had been lying there for days. He stretched his limbs briefly, but before he could finish, a fast-moving object hurtled toward his head. Obito swiftly dodged the attack, refraining from using Kamui due to uncertainty about his situation and its effectiveness.

"I sensed a presence nearby, but I didn't expect it to be you, Madara Uchiha," a familiar voice spoke from behind him. Obito turned to face the speaker, confirming his suspicion: Itachi. The latter also wore the Akatsuki cloak and a Konoha headband with the symbol crossed out.

Obito considered adopting his Madara persona and responding in that voice but swiftly thought otherwise. What would be the point? After all...

"Um, sorry to burst your bubble, but Madara Uchiha is dead," he replied in Tobi's voice.

Itachi remained unconvinced. Many events had unfolded since he woke up in this strange place, his last memory being the conclusion of the Edo Tensei and bidding a final farewell to his younger brother. And now, Madara Uchiha stood before him—the same man who instigated the Fourth Shinobi War. However, Itachi refrained from hasty actions, aware of the formidable Uchiha standing before him.

"Then who are you?" Itachi inquired, the answer determining whether he would have to confront the man who posed the greatest threat to the Leaf.

Obito fell silent momentarily, reluctant to reveal his true identity to Itachi, yet also seeking to avoid unnecessary conflict. More pressing matters demanded their attention. Obito assessed Itachi, who eagerly awaited a response, before removing the mask covering his face. Itachi focused on the man's face, anticipating the familiar ghost of the Uchiha. However, what he saw only added to his confusion.

Before him stood a face distinct from Madara's, with one side scarred and the other, housing the sole eye, unscathed. "... Who are you?" Itachi asked once more.

The man stared at him with his lone black eye, seemingly piercing into his consciousness, before his lips moved. "My name is Obito Uchiha," he declared.

"You mean Kakashi's former teammate? But he died during the Third Shinobi War... Kakashi used to visit his grave often. How can you..." Itachi's words trailed off as confusion filled his mind.

"That's a long story I'm not willing to delve into," Obito interjected. "Besides, don't you think there are more important matters we need to attend to?" he inquired, redirecting their focus.

Itachi stood dumbfounded, numerous questions demanding immediate answers. While he desired to put this man under Tsukuyomi and quench his curiosity through interrogation, Obito had a point. More pressing questions awaited them.

Obito donned his mask once more. "Where do you think we are?" he asked Itachi, returning to his Tobi voice.

"This place is unfamiliar to me. The terrain and surroundings differ greatly from what I've encountered in my travels across the Elemental Nations. Perhaps it's another continent?" Itachi suggested.

Tobi extended his hands, forming an 'X' shape with his index fingers. "Buzzes! Wrong answer! You were close, but instead of another continent, I believe we're in an entirely different world!" he exclaimed.

Itachi raised an eyebrow, partly surprised by the shift in tone and partly intrigued by Obito's theory. "What makes you think that?" he inquired.

Tobi lifted his gaze to the sky. "Well, I can sense nature energy here. Don't ask me why, but it's nearly double the amount compared to the Elemental Nations. A change in continents wouldn't explain that," Tobi explained. "Anyway, what do you want to do?"

Despite his continued confusion, Itachi remained level-headed, a skill honed over his time with the Akatsuki. Gathering more information about their surroundings seemed the most prudent course of action. He quickly checked his equipment to ensure he was prepared for any potential conflicts, mentally listing his possessions.

Turning to Tobi, who patiently awaited an answer, Itachi replied, "Well, isn't it obvious?" He began walking toward the east, in the direction of the smoke Tobi had noticed earlier. Tobi followed silently, and together they embarked on their journey toward the distant smoke.

The trek was long as they opted to walk. Itachi soon regretted the decision. 'Tobi' began to sing while swaying his hands, reaching an unparalleled level of annoyance that even Itachi's previous companions hadn't achieved.

Finally, they reached their destination, a civilization—or what remained of it. Before them lay a charred and desolate village, with lifeless bodies strewn about and signs of plundering were evident. Itachi's eyes turned into a glowing crimson with three tomoes revolving inside of it and used his heightened senses to examine the place.-

He searched the area for anything useful, focusing on signs of life among the scattered bodies or any clues that could lead them to the perpetrators behind the tragic fate of the village. Meanwhile, Tobi's stomach began to growl, causing him to clench it in hunger.

Suddenly, a pile of papers fell right in front of Tobi, startling him. He looked up to find a white bird wearing a hat and a bag around its neck. Tobi picked up the papers and began skimming through them.

"You find anything useful?" Itachi asked as he ventured deeper into the ruined village. Tobi remained silent for a moment, capturing Itachi's attention. He noticed Tobi holding a newspaper and reading it. Though he couldn't see Tobi's expression due to the mask, he sensed that what he read was quite surprising.

"Check it out for yourself," Tobi said, a hint of concern in his tone. Itachi halted his exploration and returned to see what was on the newspaper.

Taking the newspaper from Tobi, Itachi observed a prominent headline at the top of the page: "A Storm of Chaos: Loguetown's Peace Shattered as Pirates and Navy Engage in Ferocious Battle."

The sentence alone contained several unfamiliar terms. Loguetown appeared to be a location, while "Pirates and Navy" likely referred to opposing factions. The revelation lent more credibility to Tobi's theory. Another set of papers was handed to Itachi, this time containing wanted posters. Among them was a picture of a boy who appeared to be around Sasuke's age. Below the image, it read, "Dead or Alive, Monkey D. Luffy, 30 million and an unfamiliar currency symbol."

"Now does my idea seem so far-fetched?" Tobi remarked.

Itachi continued to peruse the newspaper, seeking more information. Each sentence introduced numerous unfamiliar words. It was difficult to believe, but perhaps they truly found themselves in a different world.

Setting the newspaper down alongside the pile of wanted posters, Itachi posed a question: "Let's assume we are indeed in a different world. Why are we here?" Tobi responded with a shrug, unable to provide an answer.

Just then, Tobi's stomach growled even louder than before. Itachi regarded him with an unamused expression while Tobi scratched the back of his head, a sign of embarrassment. "How about we search for some food and continue investigating tomorrow?" Tobi proposed.

However, Itachi dismissed the suggestion and proceeded to explore the village alone, ignoring Tobi's plea. Tobi sighed and reluctantly followed, despite his own reservations.

They continued their search throughout the village until sunrise. Luckily, Tobi stumbled upon a fruit basket, which managed to satiate his hunger. Apart from that, their exploration yielded no significant findings.

The village stood near the shore, boasting a port that opened up to the vast sea. Tobi settled on the edge of the wooden port, enjoying his fruits, while Itachi decided to take a brief rest. Although he leaned against a tree with his eyes closed, he wasn't truly asleep. Even though it seems like it, none of them trusted the other. They were both ready for any conflict that might occur between them.

Tobi gazed out at the vast ocean, noticing a ship on the horizon heading their way. Activating his Sharingan, he sought to discern the ship's occupants. It bore a white sail with a blue logo, and the word "Marine" was inscribed beneath it. Men wearing white uniforms, adorned with hats bearing the same logo, occupied the ship. Among them was a man in a long jacket, distinct from the others, seemingly their leader.

Jumping up from the edge of the port and brushing off the dust from his cloak, Tobi hastily ran toward the village, calling out Itachi's name repeatedly. Itachi, leaning against a tree with his eyes closed, could hear Tobi's distant voice approaching. Tobi arrived, panting, and began explaining how a ship was heading their way as they spoke. Itachi maintained his closed-eyed facade, seemingly ignoring Tobi, and continued his meditation. Frustrated, Tobi turned back toward the port, eager to greet their potential saviors upon their arrival.

After a while, the ship finally reached the port. Tobi stood on the beach behind the port, waving his hands to welcome their newly arrived guests. A large group of men in white uniforms disembarked, led by the man in the long jacket. He had blonde hair, a prominent chin, and four swords strapped to his hips. Tobi felt Itachi by his side, noticing that Itachi was becoming more interested in these new arrivals.

He intended to greet them, but before he could speak, their leader interjected. "I can't believe they sent me to deal with amateurs like you in the East Blue. Those higher-ups really did me dirty. Well, it doesn't matter. I'll treat it like a vacation. Captain Otter Shite is too much for you weaklings. Zazazazaza," their leader proclaimed, his laughter cut short.

"Excuse me, but your laugh is really creeping me out. Can you please stop?" Tobi remarked, unconcerned by the leader's status.

Captain Otter, clearly offended by Tobi's comment, flushed with anger. "How dare you mere pirates insult me?! Do you have a death wish?!" he retorted.

"Pirates? Where?!" Tobi replied, scanning the surroundings frantically for any sign of pirates. Itachi couldn't help but rub his temple in annoyance.

"Who else is on this island besides the two of you?! Men, capture them! I'll make sure to give them a severe punishment, especially this orange-masked goon!" Captain Otter commanded.

The men behind him unsheathed their swords and brandished their guns, advancing with weapons pointed at Tobi and Itachi. Itachi remained unfazed, while Tobi cautiously stepped backward, wary of the swords aimed at him.

"What's all this for? I simply said your laugh is creepy, and it really is! Right, Itachi?" Tobi questioned.

Itachi remained silent throughout the commotion, paying little attention to Tobi's remarks. Captain Otter's face turned even redder as he screamed at the top of his lungs, "Forget capturing them! Kill them right here and now!"

The men in white lunged at Tobi, charging with swords in hand. "Well, I guess it's time to put this to use," Tobi thought to himself. As the men swung their swords, each blade passed through Tobi as if he were intangible, leaving the attackers perplexed and defenseless.

"Time for us to play!" Tobi exclaimed. The remaining men continued their charge, but Tobi evaded their attacks effortlessly, slipping behind them. He swiftly unsheathed a kunai, slashing each man from behind until none remained, their lifeless bodies piled up on the ground.

Meanwhile, Itachi had already gotten rid of the marines who pursued him. In a blur of motion, every marine who attacked him fell to the ground, lifeless. Captain Otter stood frozen, his jaw dropped in disbelief. "F-Fine! I guess I'll have to take care of you myself!" he snarled, drawing all four of his swords. He positioned them back to back, forming a giant cross with their blades' hilts touching.

"No. You will answer my questions," Itachi asserted calmly, finally opening his eyes to reveal his Sharingan. The intense gaze sent a chill down Captain Otter's spine.

"Wh-What kind of power is that?!" Captain Otter stammered, his voice trembling.

"The power of the Uchiha," Itachi replied stoically.

Itachi swiftly made hand signs, using his Sharingan to create a strong illusion. Captain Otter found himself immediately caught in Itachi's genjutsu, a world of illusions that appeared incredibly real.

Everything around Captain Otter became blurry and strange. He felt like he was in a scary, deserted place, filled with his deepest fears and regrets. Itachi appeared before him, his eyes glowing in a mysterious way.

"Now, Captain Otter, you have to answer my questions honestly," Itachi said calmly but firmly.

The captain couldn't resist the genjutsu and could only nod, fear evident on his face. He knew he had to face Itachi's questions, even if it meant revealing his secrets.

As the genjutsu tightened its grip, Captain Otter's resistance crumbled, and he couldn't keep the secrets hidden anymore. Itachi learned everything, uncovering the truth about their existence and the strange world they found themselves in.

Satisfied with the knowledge he had gained, Itachi released the captain from the genjutsu. The illusion disappeared, and Captain Otter found himself back on the village shore, overwhelmed by the weight of the encounter.

Itachi's expression stayed the same as he focused on the shaken captain. With a quick slash to the man's throat, Itachi decapitated him on the spot. He then returned to Tobi, who sat on a heap of marine bodies.

"You got what you needed?" Tobi asked.

Itachi nodded in response. "You were right. We're in a completely different world," he said, prompting Tobi to jump up and punch the air with excitement, exclaiming, "I knew it!"

"This world is very different from ours. Instead of hidden village shinobi, they have pirates and navy soldiers. Instead of chakra, they have something called devil fruits. According to the captain's memories, these fruits grant powers but take away the user's ability to swim," Itachi explained.

Tobi listened attentively, and when Itachi finished, he asked, "So, what should we do now?"

Itachi closed his eyes, walking past Tobi. "I don't know. What you do is up to you," he said.

Tobi remained there, aware that Itachi was keeping many things hidden, but he understood their lack of trust in each other. Rising from the pile of bodies, he made his way toward the ship from which the marines had arrived.

On the ship, he noticed a few remaining individuals. One person, wearing a different uniform, caught Tobi's attention, making him wonder if the man held a higher position.

The man held a snail in one hand, talking to it while bringing something closer to his mouth. He spoke to the snail respectfully, using honorifics, while the snail shouted back at him.

Approaching the man, Tobi noticed his fear as he begged for his life, assuming Tobi was one of the pirates on the island.

"Relax, I won't hurt you. Who were you talking to just now?" Tobi asked, suspecting the snail was a communication device rather than a leader.

"Who's that? Is that one of the pirates speaking to you?" the snail suddenly spoke, catching Tobi's attention. He grabbed the snail from the man's hand, examining it. Then, he took the receiver and spoke into it.

"Hello?" Tobi said. The snail responded by hurling threats and curses at him, warning that they would become wanted criminals.

The snail continued its verbal assault until the other side ran out of breath. Taking that moment, Tobi simply replied with a casual "Ok!" before placing the receiver on top of the snail's shell, ending the call.

Tobi continued to study the snail, finding it useful. "What's it called?" he asked the man on the ground, whose face was turning blue.

"D-Den den mushi," the man managed to answer. Suddenly, the snail swirled out of existance from Tobi's hand, startling everyone on the ship. Tobi then turned to the rest of the people.

"Oh, by the way, does anyone know how to operate this ship?" Tobi asked.

A man in a white marine uniform stepped forward, his voice filled with nervousness. "M-me, sir!"

The former Akatsuki member hummed. "So everyone else is useless, right?" he stated. Before anyone could respond, the sound of bodies hitting the ground echoed, leaving only the man who claimed to know how to operate the ship alive.

The man trembled, tears welling up in his eyes, accepting his fate alongside the others. Tobi reassured him that as long as he followed orders, nothing would happen to him.

He instructed the man to stay put on the ship and not move it, threatening him with a painful death otherwise. The man nodded, and Obito left the ship, returning to the burnt-down town in search of Itachi.

He found Itachi slumped against the same tree as before and approached him. "Hey, Itachi, I managed to hijack their ship. Let's leave this island and find somewhere with people and food, not just apples and berries!" Tobi exclaimed.

Itachi slowly opened his eyes and looked at Tobi. "You can go if you want. I'm staying here," he replied with a cold tone, closing his eyes again.

Tobi paused for a moment before speaking again. "Why are you so stubborn? Remember, we're in a completely different world. There's no Sasuke or Konoha to protect here," Obito said with his normal voice. "You're free from that burden, yet you confine yourself to it. It's foolish," he added, his tone even colder than Itachi's.

Itachi opened his eyes again, his gaze fixed on Obito, especially when he heard his little brother's name mentioned. He didn't respond, but the intensity of his gaze spoke volumes.

"You can do whatever you want. This is an entirely new world, and we don't know what's happening around us. All we know is that this isn't the Elemental Nations," Obito continued. "As I mentioned earlier, this place has double the amount of nature energy in the air compared to the Elemental Nations. Imagine if a sage like Jiraiya or Hashirama were here. Do you think you'd stand a chance against them?"

"You can do as you please, but I suggest you come with me. You may be strong, but everything here is unpredictable," Obito concluded, extending a final invitation before leaving Itachi to his thoughts.

Returning to the ship, Tobi noticed that the man had heeded his words as the ship remained there, ready for him. He boarded the ship and commanded the man to set sail towards the nearest island with the most delicious food.

As they prepared to sail, Itachi stood at the port, causing Tobi to burst into laughter and invite him onto the ship. With the ship now on its way, it marked the beginning of Tobi and Itachi's adventure in this unfamiliar world—a peculiar duo, to say the least.

================================================

I'm pretty excited to write this up but as I said, I'm not the type to plan much of anything. So even I don't know what's going to happen in the next few chapters for sure. Which is not actually bad cause I get to sort of explore the story alongside yall.

I'm not one to brag but Tobi and Itachi are actually a really good combo. Tobi is just a great character to pair up with any serious character such as Itachi because not only is he strong, so nobody could fuck with him but he is also a sweetheart.

I hope yall enjoyed the chapter.
