The young Titan walked around her room, thinking hard about this. She looked at the calendar in her room, with the 25 of December circled in red.
"Luz's birthday is in five days, and I still have no idea what to get her!" Amity said.
'Would it count as a Christmas gift more or as a birthday gift more? But even if it's both, what could I possibly get her to show how much I care about her?' Amity thought, pacing faster than before.
"Meow." Ghost said, watching her Titan witch pacing around the room.
Ghost jumped on the pile of offerings that people gave Amity, thinking that maybe there's something in there that Luz would like. Amity looked at Ghost and shook her head.
"No, I don't want to give Luz something that was just given to me because my blood is blue." Amity said, "I need to get something from the heart, something that I got her specifically for her."
Amity went into her witch form and let Ghost run up her arm.
"Come on, Ghost, we have some work to do." She said.
Amity walked out of her room and down the stairs, walking past the den as Edric and Emira were watching the crystal ball.
They noticed her and smirked a bit. They stood up and ran to the doors and opened them for her.
"Here you go, your holiness!" Emira said in an over exaggerating tone.
"A Titan such as you shouldn't have to open your own doors." Edric said.
Despite knowing that this was just for laughs, she was on a mission, and didn't have time for this. She flipped them off as she walked through the doors, hearing her siblings laugh and close the doors.
"I love them... but I also want to kill them." Amity said to her palisman. "Come on, Ghost, let's fly."
Ghost became a staff and Amity got on. While Hunter had wings, and Willow had hers almost grown enough to fly, Amity was born a couple months after Luz, so she didn't have her wings yet, as a Titan starts to grow them when they reach 15.
'Just a little later but let's think about Luz's birthday first instead of mine.' Amity thought to herself.
Amity flew towards the market place, hoping that it would be a light day so she could shop in peace. Though that would be difficult since she was also a Titan but as long as Amity wore a disguise, she would be fine. After she landed outside of the market place and looked around to see it was mostly empty, just like Amity hoped this time of day.
Just for extra protection, she put her hood on. She walked through the market, but found very little that Luz would like. And she went to nearly every stand in the market to look. Clothing, charms, treats, and even Palismen accessories; but nothing seemed good enough to Amity.
"Luz wouldn't like this stuff." Amity muttered, "What do you get the girl that literally has everything!?"
In her frustration, Amity slammed her hand into a stand counter and accidental broke through. She flinched a bit and quickly walked off as the shopkeeper came to check but didn't see Amity at all.
'Okay, forgot about Titan strength.' Amity thought.
"Meow." Ghost said, climbing onto Amity's shoulder.
"Come on, Ghost, maybe we should check the library, Luz likes books." Amity said.
Ghost nodded in agreement, but thinking that a book rented from the library won't matter if they had to return it. Perhaps Amity could keep it if she asks Malphas.
Amity arrived at the library, where she went in through a secret door as people knew she liked coming here and it was hard for her to get to work otherwise. She took a deep breath and exhaled, having liked and missed the smell of old paper and ink.
"Alright, now to head to the Forbidden Stacks." Amity said, walking through the library.
She walked up to the giant set of doors and knocked.
'I forgot my library card in a rush but it's fine. I can wait.' Amity thought.
It's not like she wasn't known, even before becoming a Titan, she was known by the librarians.
A few minutes of waiting and the doors were opened, revealing the head librarian poking his head out.
"Hello?" Malphas asked, looking down to see a hooded witch. "Can I help you?"
"Yes, you can." Amity said, taking off her hood and smiling at him.
"Amity? What can I do for you?" Malphas asked in surprise.
"I need your help with something important." Amity said to him.
"Then please, come in." Malphas said, opening the doors some more to let her in. "I shouldn't be surprised that you would show up on your day off. What, come to take a break from your fame?"
"Not exactly." Amity replied.
"Then what do I owe the visit?" Malphas asked.
"I'm having a problem concerning my girlfriend." Amity said. "Her birthday is in a week, and I have no idea what to get her."
"Really?" Malphas asked, rubbing his chin,
"Yes and I've looked everywhere in the market for something but nothing came to mind. I even thought of reaching her a spell but she could've already learned it from Eda. That's why I came here." Amity explained.
"And how would I be able to help?" Malphas asked, rubbing his chin.
"Well, I was wondering if you had a book I foul use for her gift. I know you don't let people keep books but-"
"It's alright, Amity. After everything you've done for the library and the Isles, what's you getting one book as a gift to your girlfriend?" Malphas said with a small smile. "Besides, you're practically a god now, it would be wrong to go against an all powerful Titan."
"Hehehehehe, yeah but…could you not treat me like that? I've known you for years and I don't want you to look at me any differently just because I've become a Titan now." Amity said as Ghost meowed in agreement.
"Don't worry, nothing will change between us." Malphas said, waving his hand.
"Thank you. Now, do you have any suggestions for a book Luz might like?" Amity asked him.
"No, mostly since I've met her once, but you are more than welcome to look around." Malphas said, "Just... don't go near that one."
He pointed to a book that was literally in a cage, with heavy chains around it.
"That book is pure evil." He said, a grin expression in his face.
Amity looked at the title.
"The History of Disney." She read before looking at her boss, "What the hell is that?"
"A horrible company." He said.
"How horrible?" Amity asked.
"As horrible as the false emperor." Malphas said, making Amity jolt.
"Yikes." She whispered, shaking her head.
Amity decided to stay away from that book. FAR away.
"Now, let's see what sort of book Ms. Noceda would like." Malphas said, bringing out a giant book with the Titan's skeleton on it.
"Whoa, what book is that?" Amity asked, having never seen it before.
"The library's ultimate code of context." Malphas said, serious.
"This book is as old as the library itself, dating all the way back several hundred years." Malphas said to her.
He opens the book and a giant wind came from it, nearly blowing Amity back.
"Woah!" Amity said.
"Indeed. Just the very presence of the open book gives off a great magical energy." Malphas said, turning the page. "To a normal witch, it would destroy their very essence."
'Once again, I am thankful to be part Titan now.' Amity thought.
"See anything you think she'll like?" He said, gesturing to the book.
Amity walked over to Malphas and looked through the book with him, seeing titles for books she didn't even know were in the library or even existed to begin with!
'This is amazing.' Amity thought.
She looked through all of the titles, becoming more amazed with each and every title even if she never read these books in her life!
'Focus, focus. This is for Luz, not me.' Amity thought but would possibly come back later for herself.
She then found something that could work...The History of the Titans.
"This one." Amity said, pointing to the title.
"The History of the Titans. Oh, even I have been curious about that book for some time." Malphas said, looking to where he could get it.
He motioned for Amity to come with him. The two of them traveled DEEP into the Forbidden Stacks, pushing aside giant dust bunnies, cobwebs, and troves of echo mice.
'I wonder if Luz still has hers.' Amity thought.
And if she didn't, maybe Amity could get her a new one if the History of Titans was eaten by another echo mouse.
Soon, they arrived at the shelf it was on. Section KT-9, top shelf. And the top shelf was near the roof because of how tall it was!
"My, quite the height." Malphas said, looking upwards.
Amity summoned Ghost to her hand.
"I can handle it." Amity said, jumping in her staff and flying up to the higher shelves.
"But be cautious, Amity! These older shelves might have creatures we've ever seen before!" Malphas quickly warns her.
"I'm a creature we've never seen before." Amity said, still looking up. "The only thing that can kill me is old age, another Titan, or an Archivist/Archivist weapon."
'Archivist weapon?' Malphas thought in curiosity.
Amity didn't want to think about it, finding Luz with that knife in her stomach was a horrible day.
'I won't forgive you for that. I won't EVER forgive you for that.' Amity thought towards her birther.
She stabbed Luz with an archivist weapon, and then left her for dead... Amity won't lie when she says she smiled as she watched Cat use that hook and kill Odalia by stabbing her through the eye. That was the day Cat became her favorite friend and the day Amity would always celebrate.
Before long, Amity reached the shelf.
"Alright, where is the book?" Amity muttered, looking around for the book.
Some of the books were covered in dust, making them hard to read as she wiped away some dust to see the titles.
"No, no that's not it." Amity said as she looked at the books.
Cooking with Nature, no.
Creating Lava Golems, no.
The Wonders the Boiling Seas, no.
Amity went through several titles of ancient books of the top shelf before she finally found what she was looking for.
'Yes!' Amity thought with a smile.
The History of Titans By————
The name had been scratched/faded out due to years of age but the book itself was in incredible condition. But first Amity had to open it and check for an echo mouse eating out of it.
"Let's have a look inside." Amity said, grabbing the book and opening it.
She gasped, as most of the pages were scribbled out. Like someone didn't want anyone finding it.
"No…" Amity said before turning the pages, only finding more scribbles on more pages. "No no no no no no no!"
'Nearly all of the pages are ruined!' Amity thought, finding only a handful were still readable!
She quickly flew back down to Malphas and held the book out.
"The book was destroyed!" She nearly screamed.
Malphas took the book from Amity, looking it over at all the scribbled over pages.
"Oh no! This is horrible!" Malphas said, only finding a decent page every twenty or so ruined pages. "I have to get to the bottom of this!"
Malphas closed the book and turned to leave, making Amity follow behind him in a rush. With the only gift that seems to perfect ruined, what else was she to get Luz for her birthday?!
Amity was ready to titan mode and pull her horns out, she had 4 and a half days to find the perfect gift!
"Is there ANY way to fix it?" Amity asked, trying not to SCREAM in the Forbidden Stacks.
"Yes, but it will take months, maybe even a year." Malphas said to her.
"A year?!" Amity said in shock.
'Hit that means I would have to give this to Luz on her NEXT birthday!' Amity thought.
Amity left the library and returned home, as it was getting late. She collapsed onto her bed and started screaming into her pillow.
-December 21-
Amity woke up, very annoyed.
'I'm going to the human realm.' She thought.
Since her present mission turned out to be such a BUST here, Amity prayed she had better luck in the human realm…HOPEFULLY.
She got out of bed and went to the mirror. In her sleep, she became her hybrid form.
"Ugh, I need to wash my horns." Amity said, noting the dirt getting on them.
She liked them when they were clean, white, and prestine. Not only was it proper hygiene but she liked it when her horns were white and shiny. It wasn't to be smug, it was just good representation of demon horn regulation.
Plus... it was nice when Luz complimented her on them. Luz, being... well Luz... often got her horns dirty. Amity liked to help clean them. It was like shampooing your hair but it felt kind of better in a way.
'Hopefully I haven't run out of my favorite soap.' Amity thought, grabbing her clothes for the day and walking to her bathroom.
There's only one downside... she had to use a LOT of shampoo and Conditioner to keep her fur nice, soft, and devoid of tangles. In the hot season, she would need flea shampoo as well, which was kind of embarrassing.
Once again, being a Titan also has its downsides.
She shook that thought out of her head and began her hour long shower. Using extremely hot water, nearly boiling since being a Titan gave resistance to the boiling sea, and an entire bottle of body wash/face wash/shampoo; Amity was refreshed and ready to go.
She dried her horns and looked in the mirror, smiling at their shine.
"Perfect!" Amity said.
Amity left the bathroom, opening the door to see Emira waiting with her arms crossed.
"There better be hot water left." Emira said, walking past Amity.
Amity chuckled like this was her favorite joke, which it was.
"Don't back talk me, I'm your god!" Amity said, trying to not laugh while saying that.
"Well I'm your big sister, that still carries weight." Emira argued.
"No. It really doesn't." Amity said, still trying not to chuckle as she left.
Amity went back into her witch form and headed to the Owl House.
"AMITY!" Emira shouted, hating the feeling of cold water.
"BYE!" Amity shouted with a grin, flying off with Ghost.
'Note to self, remind dad to design and install a water heater to draw in water from the ocean.' Amity thought.
The flight was brief and calming, seeing the owl house in a matter of minutes before she landed before the front door.
She grabbed the doorknob and opened the portal to the Human Realm. Amity took a deep breath of human realm air, finding it colder than the last time due to the change of season.
And there was snow on the ground, and it was currently snowing.
'I should've dressed warmer.' Amity thought before she went into town.
Using her hair to cover her ears again and making Ghost become a normal cat to walk beside her, Amity walked down the street and blended in with anybody around.
Unfortunately... it turns out that Humans love cats, so Ghost got lots of attention.
Especially since she was a white cat, the exact opposite of a black cat and known as a symbol of good luck or a good luck charm.
'This was a mistake.' Amity thought as various people were taking photos of, taking videos of, or even petting her palisman.
"Meow." Ghost said, enjoying the attention with a smile.
"Come on, Ghost, we have things to do." Amity said.
But the palisman just ignored her witch, still enjoying all the attention she was getting.
"Meow." Ghost replied.
"Ghost." Amity said firmly, crossing her arms. "Let's go."
That was the first time Amity saw a cat roll their eyes. Ghost went back to her owner. She walked into the main town. No one even bothered asking about her ears, whether it was because of Christmas or because the town has become accustomed to the supernatural, either way, it helped since she wouldn't need to explain it to anyone.
"Let's check out the mall. We should find something there." Amity said as Ghost was now riding on her shoulders.
The walk wasn't long and before she knew it, Amity noticed a sign near a book store. A sign for a for an Azura book signing by the author!
Though her thoughts of getting Luz the perfect gift was still on her mind, her love for Azura the good witch was clashing with it.
'Maybe just a quick stop is fine.' Amity thought as she went inside. 'Plus, maybe an autographed book would be a good gift.'
The crowd inside was medium sized, revealing a moderate fan base in the city of Gravesfield.
'My people!' Amity thought with a grin.
Amity used a bit of magic, and summoned the fifth book, which the small crowd that saw it didn't even acknowledge. A couple of them did strike up a conversation with Amity about it, and they were pretty friendly.
If only Amity had this community in the demon realm, things would've been so much better in her life. Well, at least before she met Luz.
After waiting in line for about an hour, it was her turn. She smiled as she was about to get Luz an autograph... but also because she got to meet the actual author of the book.
"He-He-Hello!" Amity stutters out, nervous yet excited about meeting the author.
"Hello, young lady." The author, Mildred, said with a kind smile to Amity.
"My girlfriend and I are big fans, and... her birthday is in a couple days." Amity said before she put the book down, "I was hoping you could sign this for her."
Mildred smiled.
"Always nice to see couples bond over my work." she said, taking the book and signing it, "And by the way... was that magic you used to summon the book in line?"
Amity meeped from this, almost forgetting that she actually used magic in public and most people ignored it. But this was the author, she was different from them!
"U-U-Um…maybe?" Amity said to Mildred.
She chuckled a bit before looking at Amity.
"You don't need to worry about that, I just like to see another witch feel comfortable enough to use magic in the human realm." Mildred said.
"Well, technically I'm a Titan and... wait what?" Amity said in surprise.
Mildred chuckled at Amity's reaction before holding up her finger, drawing a neon blue spell circle?! Her ears poofed with magic and revealed to be pointed just like Amity's!
Amity's jaw dropped!
'Sh-Sh-Sh-She's a witch!' Amity thought in shock as Ghost's fur stood up, looking at Mildred with wide eyes too!
"Surprised?" Mildred asked.
"A little, yeah." Amity said, slowly nodding. "My girlfriend and I were talking about this in the demon realm! I never thought it was true!"
"My books are in the demon realm? I had no idea. I haven't been back there for some time now." Mildred said, leaning closer to Amity. "Speaking of which, how have things been?"
"Oh... how much time you got?" Amity asked, "Because in the last six months things went wild. Wait, how did you get to the Human realm?"
"Oh, I have my own portal." Mildred said.
"…I'm sorry, what?" Amity asked, feeling shock all over again. "I thought there was only ONE portal between the realm."
'Counting the old one that was destroyed and the new one create with Collector's help!' Amity thought.
"No, I spent years making it, I couldn't stand Belos." Mildred said, waving her hand.
"You made it yourself?" Amity asked.
"It wasn't easy but I managed to discover some old notes from the Bonesborough library that helped. Hardest part was finding the blood needed for the key but I luckily managed to find a small drop or two from a dried up lake." Mildred explained.
"Well, there's not a shortage of Titan's Blood anymore." Amity said, looking around quickly before cutting herself a bit with her nail to show her blue blood.
Mildred looked shocked at this as the cut quickly healed up, making her quickly pull out a "10 minute break" sign to place on the table.
"Please follow me and tell me more." Mildred said.
Amity nodded before went to the backroom of the book store.
"Well, it started when my girlfriend Luz tried to stop Belos from stealing a vial of Titan's Blood hidden in the human realm, and she was very injured, life threatening, and in her dying state, she drank the Titan's Blood, turning her into a Titan." Amity explained.
"She turned into a Titan by drinking the blood?" Mildred said in surprise. "But if she drank from a vial, how do you have it as well?"
"Well... that happened about a month ago." Amity said.
'And it's sort of a sore subject since Luz nearly died AGAIN.' Amity thought.
Amity proceeded to explain the events, as good as she could in the amount of time she has. From the Day of Unity to the Isles recovering, Amity left out no details for Mildred.
"So, yeah, my friends and I are titans." Amity said.
Mildred had her mouth wide open after the long story, shock by not only all the changes that happened while she was on Earth but also by the fact that there are now SIX living titans in the demon realm now! One pure blood and 5 half!
"I…have missed so much." Mildred said slowly.
"Yeah, you have." Amity said, holding the signed book. "Now, thanks for the signed book, I have to go get it wrapped for my lovely goddess."
"Aren't you also a goddess?" Mildred asked.
"Yes but it suits Luz better since she was the first half Titan." Amity said before leaving. "Now, I have to go."
Amity left and went back to the Isles, excited for Luz's reaction to her gift.
-December 22-
Amity was holding the book tightly, even in her room. She didn't want anything to happen to it.
She didn't even sleep without it in her protective grip or under her pillow so she could know it was there. Amity didn't even tell her siblings and father she had the book, mostly out of worry the twins would ruin it somehow.
Amity grabbed her cape and attached it, before going over to the window and opening it.
"Ah, what a beautiful day, nothing could go-"
Suddenly, a bird flew in and grabbed the book, before it flew out.
Amity froze for a moment, looking at the spot where the book was before looking towards the bird flying away.
"Meow?" Ghost asked, tilting her head.
"I KNOW, GHOST!" Amity shouted before grabbing the palisman! "LESS SNARK, MORE FLY!"
The young Titan wasted no time in flying after it... before her cape got stuck on a tree and made her hang from it.
'I would burn this thing if it wasn't for the fact that it would hurt me.' Amity thought as Ghost couldn't help but smirk on the branch above Amity.
"Help mama up." Amity said.
"Meow." Ghost said.
"Fine! I'll get you those fish crackers snacks from earth! I promise!" Amity said. "Now get me out of the tree so we can get Luz's present back!"
Ghost nodded as she climbed up the tree and used a little magic to cut Amity's branch down.
"Ow. Thank you." Amity said as she lands and got up. "Now let's go get that flying thief!"
Ghost jumped down and became a staff, letting Amity catch her to fly off after the bird again!
Amity needed to get that book back! NO MATTER WHAT!
'I am not losing that book after everything I went through to get it for Luz!' Amity thought.
Not only was it autographed... it was Luz's book! If she lost it, then Luz would be devistated!
'I don't want to imagine why Luz will say if I lose her book!' Amity thought, keeping her gaze in the bird as it was flying to the forest.
She got back on Ghost and flew after it, hoping it would lead her to its nest.
Hopefully it wouldn't use it to feed its children. It was a good book but not good enough to be food!
Amity smiled as she saw the nest. She flew to it and used the Lesbian Laser as she called it to scare the bird away.
"WEH!" Amity screamed, a concentrated sound wave shot towards the bird and hitting it in the back to startle it!
"CAW!" It screeched as it dropped the book, flying off in a rush.
"Yes!" Amity cheered, seeing the book fall.
She pointed her staff down and flew after the book. She grabbed it and smiled.
"Yes!" She said, "Come on, Ghost, let's go back home!"
Ghost turned around and flew back towards Blight manor.
Amity gripped the book as tight as possible until she arrived back. She lands in her room and slammed the window shut, locking it and using abomination goo for extra measure.
She then put the book in a safe.
"There! From this point on, this book is not leaving this safe until Luz's birthday!" Amity said as she turned to dial to lock the safe.
"Meow." Ghost said, jumping on top of the safe.
"Ghost, you're in charge of guarding it, can I trust you?" Amity asked.
"Meow." Ghost said, giving Amity a salute.
If Amity was going to give her the fish cracker treats, she was gonna earn them.
-December 23-
Ghost was walking around the safe, making sure no one would get into it while Amity was at school.
She had been alert ever since Amity locked the book on the vault, making sure that her second master's book would remain untouched and undamaged! She was going to earn her fish crackers!
The door opening gained her attention, making Ghost growl at the door as she looked ready to attack!
"Hello, Ghost." Alador said, entering Amity's room.
Ghost just kept blocking the safe from him.
"REOOOOOOW!" Ghost screeched, her fur standing up.
Alador was confused on why Ghost was acting like this.
"Ghost? Is something wrong? It's just me, the father of your witch." Alador said to her.
'No one is getting close to this safe, it has Mama Luz's present.' Ghost said, not that anyone but Amity could actually hear anything but a meow.
No one accept Alador's lookalike rat palisman but he left him inside of his lab.
"Okay….the reason I'm here is just to check is Amity need any laundry done." Alador explained.
Ghost just stared at him the entire time. She didn't care if Alador was just picking up Amity's dirty clothes, she was going to guard the safe and protect the book no matter what.
She was not going to let anyone touch the safe.
'I should ask Amity if something is wrong with Ghost. She's acting so strangely today.' Alador thought as he took his leave.
When he left, Ghost calmed down and looked back at the safe... and went stiff... the safe was gone.
"REOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!" Ghost screeched in shock!
HOW THE HELL DID THE SAFE JUST DISAPPEAR AND SHE DIDN'T NOTICE?!
She started sniffing the area, she had to find the safe before Amity got back this afternoon.
'Where is it? I know it can't have gotten far yet.' Ghost thought to herself before picking up in a scent.
Leading right into the hallway! She rushed out the door and kept sniffing the entire way down the hall!
The safe was close, so close she could almost taste the metal it was made of! The thief was still in the manor!
'You're not getting away!' Ghost thought with a "predatory" gaze.
Soon, Ghost skid to a stop and found the culprit that stole her witch's safe!
"REOOOW! (YOU!)" Ghost screeched.
Though Ghost was furious, the "nefarious thief" turned out to just be a simple abomination butler.
"Ughhh." The butler groaned, holding the safe in its hands.
'GIVE ME THAT SAFE!' Ghost hissed before rushing at the butler!
Though her anger was justified, the sad thing about abominations is that sometimes they tend to just randomly grab things without knowing it. This is one of those times. They also defend themselves if they're attacked by major threats of they're automatic enough.
That didn't matter as Ghost jumped up and started clawing at the abominations face.
"Uuuuuuh!" The butler groaned as it stumbled, trying to reach and pull Ghost off while trying not to drop the safe from its hand.
Ghost didn't stop though as she kept scratching and attacking, making the abomination butler hit the wall, dropping the safe to the floor.
'Yes!' Ghost thought before jumping towards it and using her teeth to drag it back to Amity's room. 'I am not going to fail! Master Luz will get her book!'
The time it took to move the safe back was almost the entire afternoon, especially since the butler tried to get the safe back but Ghost fended it off every time. She was determined to get this safe back in its proper place even if it meant cracking herself!
She eventually got it back in, after an exhausting few hours. Just in time for Amity to enter the room.
"Ghost, I'm home!" Amity said, seeing the safe nice and... safe, "Aw, you did a good job Ghost. I knew I could trust you."
"Meow." Ghost said, sweaty and exhausted while laying on top of the safe.
Amity pets Ghost before putting her school bag away.
-December 25-
Today was today, after having the book in the safe since she got it, today was the day she would give it to Luz and prove that she is an awesome Titan Girlfriend.
And Ghost could get her fishy cracker snacks as a gifts/reward for all of her hard work.
"Alright, Ghost. it's time to get to the Christmas/Birthday party for Luz." Amity said, walking towards safe with Ghost on her shoulder.
Amity opened the safe and took the book out. She held it close as she smiled.
"This is going to be great." Amity said.
"Meow." Ghost said with a smile.
Amity turned and left her room, walking out of the house with a skip in her step as she waved goodbye to her siblings and father.
She flew to the Owl House and opened the portal door. She walked through it and into the Human realm. It was surprisingly warm out today, as the snow was melting.
"Huh, guess I don't need to worry about ice then." Amity said, smiling, "Yes, soon I'll give this to Luz and it will make her so happy, and I love it when she's happy."
Amity smiled at the book... before a car drove by and through the puddle of dirty water on the side of the road and completely covered Amity in water, and all over the book.
"..." Amity froze for a few moments, completely drenched in street water, before spitting out some that got in her mouth.
She slowly looked at the book and was completely horrified.
"No! No no no!" She screamed.
The book, Luz's book that she got autographed, was RUINED! The cover was soaked with the colors fading and the pages were already reducing to mush!
She didn't know what to do, she had no time to get something else, she was literally right outside of Luz's home!
'I….I failed. I tried so hard and…I failed to get my girlfriend a great gift!' Amity thought, gripping the hardback book as she began crying.
Ghost felt horrible... did this mean she didn't get her crackers!?... oh, yeah, and Luz's gift was ruined. Amity quickly hid it in her cape and walked to the front door. She hated this.
'Amity, the book!' Ghost meowed to her.
"I can't get a new one, Ghost. All the stores are closed and it's too late to try and get a new gift." Amity said sadly, quickly using Titan magic to transform and clean up before shifting back.
She knocked on the door and Luz opened it. She smiled upon seeing Amity.
"Sweet Potato!" Luz said, "I'm so glad you could come! Come on, everyone else is already here!"
Amity did her best to smile for Luz, not wanting to ruin her birthday/Christmas morning. She went inside, seeing Eda, Raine, King, Skara, the Hexsquad, Tracey, Vee, and Masha
"Amity!" They all said, happy to see she made it to the party.
Amity gave a small wave, but she was scared to say anything. She would have to explain that not only did Luz's gift get ruined, but that Amity took Luz's book and it got destroyed. Not that it mattered as Luz was more excited about something else.
"Amity, look!" Luz said turning around to show Amity her back, "My wings are coming in!"
There were two small growths coming from Luz's back, over the next few months they will grow and Luz will be able to fly. Amity felt even worse, because now she had to ruin Luz's good mood.
"Luz, I have to tell you something." Amity said, "About your birthday present-"
There was suddenly a knock on the door. Confused, Luz opened the door, and her eyes widdened.
"Oh... my... Titan." She said, "Mildred Featherwhyle!?"
"Good morning, Luz, a special someone told me that today was your birthday and wanted to get you a special gift." Mildred said, looking at Amity, "Here, an autographed copy of the Good Witch Azura 6. It hasn't even been released in stores yet."
Luz took the book and looked amazed. She looked over at Amity and let out a squeel.
"Amity you're the greatest girlfriend ever!" Luz said, hugging Amity before rushing to show her mom.
Amity looked at Mildred, who gave Amity a wink. Behind her back, Mildred made a circle with her figer. Amity felt something strange and pulled the fifth book out... it was completely fine. Amity gave Mildred a smile and waved goodbye as Mildred left.
'Thank you, Mildred, you saved Luz's birthday.' Amity thought before she went to the couch.
Ghost sat in front of Amity and looked at her.
'I still get the crackers, right?' Ghost meowed but was ignored.
