5 years. It had been nearly 5 years since Sheep and X Agent's marriage and the inevitable downfall of Admiral Qualities. During that time, things had both changed and remained the same. Once the Big City was fully repaired after the attack, General Specific and his henchmen had returned to trying to capture Sheep for his sheep-powered ray-gun, but failing thanks to the help and protective nature of X Agent. Farmer John and Swanky's relationship as a farmer and his dog continues to grow as they help each other on the Farm and doing several tasks to maintain it, as well as look after the animals that inhabit it. X Agent still has nightmares about Admiral Qualities, and his PTSD still lingers inside of him, but he enjoys life more knowing that he'll never experience such a thing again due to the death of the admiral. As for Sheep, he felt like his life was complete. He had an apartment and place in the Big City, some friends to hang with, and a loved one to hold onto and stay close with. It could seem that Sheep's life can't get any better... Well, almost. Ever since his marriage, Sheep had a thought about something, something that could bring him and X Agent even closer than before. He didn't ask him or anyone about it, as his anxiety made it almost impossible to even consider, and he thought it was such an ambitious idea. Sheep was about to forget about it, when he remembered that his anniversary with X Agent is coming up and his thought came back. Wanting to put it to rest, Sheep had decided to stick up and ask X Agent about it.
It was one bright and sunny afternoon, and Sheep had finally got the strength to ask X Agent to talk about the thought. He felt very anxious and even a little paranoid about it, but told himself that he should ask and it was better late than never in his own bleats. Sheep quietly looked at X Agent as he sat down at the table in the kitchen, he started to sweat when preparing to confess. X Agent looked at Sheep and noticed that he felt that way, "Sheep? What is it that you want to talk about? You look worried." "I don't mean to look worried, but I'm feeling... Rather nervous about this..." "You can always tell me your worries!" X Agent encouraged, "I won't be mad, and I don't think anything can break us apart!" Sheep listened, "Okay..." He then gulped as he looked down and prepared to make up the words he needed. Once doing so, he took a deep breath and looked at X Agent. "X Agent... I want to adopt a lamb to look after with you..." "You want to have a lamb?" X Agent asked. "I do... Ever since our marriage, I felt the need of looking after a lamb and, working together, it could bring us even closer as husbands..." Sheep explained. X Agent couldn't help but frown, "I don't know, Sheep... It's such a big thing to do, even with us helping each other... I don't know if I should be a father, and I don't want you to feel stressed by having to do all the work... I hope you understand..." Sheep understood what X Agent meant and even he was beginning to think that he might not be ready. "You maybe right... But what should we do and who do we ask?" X Agent began to think of an idea, and remembered someone who could help them, someone who knows them very well and could give them a different perspective. "How about we ask Farmer John?" X Agent asked. "That's sounds like a good idea!" Sheep agreed, "Maybe he'll help us decide!" "What are we waiting for?" X Agent confirmed, "Let's go see them! Sooner better than later..." Sheep chuckled, "Yeah... I wished that I thought of that..."
Not too far, Farmer John and Swanky were doing their daily tasks to help keep the Farm going. "Have I cleaned out the barn?" Farmer John asked. "Yep." Swanky confirmed. "Did I reschedule the animals' group therapy?" "Yes!" "And did I washed my car?" "...Yes." Just before Farmer John can continue his list, he heard some familiar voices nearby. "Farmer John? Where are you?" "We could use some help here!" "Is that...?" Farmer John questioned. "It is: Sheep and X Agent!" Swanky confirmed, "But remember what I said, no surprise hugs!" Farmer John nodded as he ran towards Sheep and X Agent and stopped when he saw them, before noticing that they're clearly bothered by something. "Hello! Long time, no see!" He cheered. "It's just been 3 weeks." Sheep corrected. "Sorry, I'm still not used to you not being at the Farm, even after all of these years later..." Farmer John sighed, "What do you need help with?" "Farmer John... Do you think we'll be good fathers?" X Agent questioned. Farmer John smiled, "Of course you two will be! You're great sheep and your teamwork really shines... Why did you ask? Did something happen? Or?" "No..." Sheep replied, "You see... Me and X Agent had been talking to each other about the possibility of adopting a lamb... And we thought about asking you for help..." "I see... I hope I gave you a clear picture." Farmer John said. "Not really, honestly..." Sheep sighed. "What do you think we should do?" X Agent asked. "Well... It's really up to you two to choose..." Farmer John advised, "It's your life after all..." Hearing the farmer's words made Sheep and X Agent give second thoughts about having a lamb. On the one hoof, looking after a lamb takes a lot of strength, motivation and knowledge, including education, advice and comfort when needed. On the other, their experiences with their relationship and life might be more than enough to help others and, like Sheep said, could make their relationship stronger. After minutes of thinking, Sheep and X Agent had made their decision. "Farmer John... We're ready for adoption." Sheep declared. "Well, if you say so!" Farmer John nodded. "One problem!" X Agent realized something, "Where are we going to adopt someone? I don't know if there are orphan sheep out there to take care of... Unless you know someone that we can adopt." Farmer John began to think and remembered a certain someone, "Well... There is one sheep that's been living on my Farm for months now... He's quite old for a lamb, specifically 14, and has a hard time trusting others, especially considering that his parents and even some of my animals of his age treated him very badly for not being like other boys..." Sheep and X Agent were surprised by this and felt worried for the sheep. "What's his name, and can we go see him?" Sheep requested. "His name is Colin, and I'll be happy to take you two to him." Farmer John agreed, "Though he doesn't talk much." "We don't mind." X Agent reassured. Farmer John accepted the sheeps' requests and began to lead them to Colin, just before requesting Swanky something. "I'm going to take Sheep and X Agent to Colin... Can you cover for me please?" He asked. Swanky rolled her eyes and laughed, "Alrighty, Farmer!" Farmer John laughed back, before he started to guide the two sheep.
