IMPORTANT: I haven't watched Squid Game, so the plot has a big chance of being different from the plot of Squid Game. I only have a basic idea of the games, otherwise writing this would be impossible. Thank you. Also, since this is based on the Squid Games, expect this story to be quite gruesome.

PROLOGUE: Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore: BEGIN 87/87 REMAIN

Noah Carter was just a teenager. He had a very high intelligence but lacked in the physical department. He was a very lazy and sarcastic person. Someone who would rather spend his life in the world of books than the real world, socialising with others. It just so happens that Noah finds himself in a situation only possible in a dream. Or more frankly, a nightmare.

Noah's POV

Noah sighed as he arrived on the island. Noah was confident he would win Total Drama Island but he wanted an edge. Thus, he set off to Camp Wawanakwa to learn the layout of the island. Even though he would rather be at home, he needed the money. He remembered how far in debt his family was. This was their last chance. If Noah couldn't make it all the way to the top, then his family would be on the streets. With $100,000 on the line, he could help them. Noah shook himself out of his thoughts and looked around. It was oddly silent. "Strange. Aren't they supposed to be setting the show up?" Noah thought as he got off the dock and looked around. Two cabins were in place, as well as a dining hall and outhouse. However, there were no people. Noah shrugged it off as he continued into the camp. After checking both cabins and finding nothing of note, he entered the dining hall. The room wasn't lit and Noah couldn't find a light switch. "Hello?" Noah asked. "Have you ever played a game called Squid Game?" someone responded. Noah tried to make out their face but they were shrouded in shadow. "No. I have heard of it though." Noah replied, getting more and more nervous. "Ah, Noah, always the smart one." The person responded. Noah's eyes widened as he responded. "How do you know my name?" Noah asked. "Noah Carter, has a dog, his family has a lot of debt." The person responded, sounding almost… bored? "What? I don't understand…" Noah responded, scared out of his wits but keeping it together. "Oh, Noah, you'll understand soon enough. You all will." The person responded. "Who is all? What are you going to do?" Noah asked, becoming more panicked. "Oh, Noah, it's simple. All I want to do is play a little game." The person responded. Noah could sense the persons sudden movement. Before he could run, he was shoved to the side by someone else. They groaned and fell to the floor. "What is going on?!" Noah screamed, at his wits' end. "Oh, I just put them to sleep. Night night." The person responded. Noah's eyes widened as he realised what was about to happen. "Wai-"Noah began before a dart entered his shoulder. Noah's world began to disappear as he fell to the ground. As his senses were shutting down, he could vaguely make out the person walking towards him. "Who… who… are you?" Noah barely managed to say. "Oh, Noah, you'll find out soon enough. After all…" The person was saying. Before the person could finish their sentence, Noah had blacked out.

Cold. That was the first thing Noah thought. He was falling. Noah was falling through the air, screaming. Suddenly, Noah was in a room, talking to someone else. "If you had just been a nicer person, we wouldn't be in this mess." They said. "I'm sorry. I really am. Our only choice is to…" I tried to say before they interrupted. "No! I can't forgive you for this Noah!" After they said this, Noah was falling again. "Forgive you. Forgive you. Forgive you. FORGIVE ME!" Noah exclaimed as he started to cry. Suddenly, a new voice interrupted his thoughts. "Wake up!" they shouted. "Huh?" Noah asked. "WAKE UP!" They shouted again. Noah gasped as the world around him disappeared and he slowly started to wake up. Noah's eyes slowly opened. He was greeted by a girl wearing a teal outfit. "Finally. We can't just wait all day." She said impatiently. "Wh-who are you? Where am I?" Noah asked. Emma sighed. "That's what we're trying to figure out. My name is Emma." The girl responded. "Noah." Noah replied as he got up. Apparently, he had been sleeping on one of numerous beds around the area. "So… we've been kidnapped?" Noah asked. "Like I said, I don't know." Emma replied. It was then that Noah noticed that she had a number on her teal tracksuit. It was number 043. Noah noticed Emma staring and spoke up" Yes, there are lots of us here. From the head count, there appear to be 87 of us, as your number says." Noah looked at himself and realised that he was wearing a similar outfit to Emma, however, in the place of the 43, Noah's tracksuit read 087. Before Noah could say anything else, he was poked on the shoulder. Noah quickly turned around and was greeted by an extremely large teen, wearing another teal tracksuit. However, next to the number (001), there was a blue maple leaf sowed on. "Hi! I'm Owen!" The large teen greeted Noah enthusiastically. "I'm Noah, your kidnapper at your service." Noah replied with a smirk. "No, you can't have done this." Owen replied, becoming much more serious. "Relax, it was a joke, Owen." Noah replied, put off by how certain Owen was of this fact. "How are you so confident, anyway?" Noah asked. "Oh, that's because you wouldn't be in here, would you?" Owen replied. Noah was impressed. He hadn't expected a deduction like that from Owen. "I guess so." Noah replied. "Anyway, we should go talk to some of the other people here! They're all so cool!" Owen exclaimed. "… fine." Noah said, realising Owen wouldn't give him a choice. "Don't worry, I'll let you choose who we go talk to!" Owen exclaimed. "No-one?" Noah thought before walking towards two people. One of them was female, with glasses and orange hair tied into a bun. The other was a large boy, similar in stature to Owen, with an orange cap and darker skin. The female had the number 002 on her tracksuit and the male had the number 086. "Hey, guys! How are you?!" Owen asked as he shook the male's hand. "I am adequate at this moment in time, thank you. His name is B, however, he seems to be mute. My name is Scarlett." The female responded. B gave me a thumbs up to emphasise her point, however, he seemed slightly worried. "That's to be expected given the situation." Noah thought. "Well, my name is Noah, resident snarker and the brickhouse, here, is called Owen." Noah replied. B gave a thumbs up while Scarlett crossed her arms and nodded. "You seem quite knowledgeable, Noah, That's a relief, considering the very real possibility of being stuck here for a while." Scarlett replied. At this, Owen and B threw each other nervous glances. However, Noah was unfazed. "Yeah, I can understand how you feel. Most of the people I know are idiots." Noah replied. "I think we'll get along just fine." Scarlett said with an approving look. "It's been fun guys!" Owen exclaimed as he grabbed Noah's hand and tugged him away. "See you around!" Noah exclaimed as he left. "Alright, are we done now?" Noah asked. "No way! There are still so many people here!" Owen exclaimed. Noah spotted three people having an argument. "Alright, we should probably go and break that up." Noah lazily pointed at the argument ensuing. "Oh, right!" Owen exclaimed as he ran over. Noah trailed behind him and reached the three as Owen held two of the three people in his hands. "C'mon, guys, let's just calm down!" Owen exclaimed. The two males in his hands had different reactions. "Of course, mi gordo amigo, please put me down." One said. The other, however, was less subtle. "Yeah, whatever, just put me down!" The other said. Owen reluctantly put them down. "Hey, what're your names?" Noah asked. "Ah, my name is Alejandro Burromuerto. Mi amigo over here is Scott and mi amiga is Heather." One of the boys responded. "I can introduce myself; you know that." Heather snapped. "My apologies, Heather, I have just grown fond of saying it I suppose." Alejandro explained. Before Heather could respond, Scott interrupted. "Who cares? What's important is how to get out of this dump." Before Noah or Owen could interject, an argument had once again started between the three. Before Owen could break it up, Noah dragged him away. "What are you doing? I need to help them!" Owen exclaimed. Noah sighed as he responded, "Some people just can't be helped, Owen." As Owen attempted to try and wrap his head around this information, Noah was approached by a small girl with the number 056 with a worried expression on her pale face. "Hello, Noah." The girl said. Noah's face quickly morphed into one of suspicion and confusion. "How do you know my name?" Noah asked. "I only read your aura." The girl responded. "Umm… what?" Noah responded, trying to find out how she knew his name. "I can tell you don't believe me, Noah." Dawn replied. "Well, of course I don't." Noah bluntly replied. Dawn shook her head. "How are your dog and family doing? I know things have been tough." Dawn said sympathetically. Something in Noah's brain clicked. "It was you!" Noah exclaimed. "What?!" Dawn asked, stepping back from Noah's out of character interest. "You're the one who shot me!" Noah pressed. "Excuse me? I'm afraid I don't know what you are talking about." Dawn replied with a confused look. By now, everyone was watching this exchange, but Noah didn't care. He had her on the ropes. "You're the one who took me away from my family, on Wawanakwa Island!" Noah exclaimed, confident in his deductions. "What?! I would never do such a thing!" Dawn replied. "Well, how do you know as much about me as the mastermind of this does?!" Noah replied. The room fell silent as Noah realised what he was saying. He had just accused someone without proper evidence and given away valuable information at the same time. "I'm sorry, Dawn. I just panicked." Noah quickly replied as he turned around and began walking away. Noah quickly felt a hand on his shoulder. "Da-" He began before turning around and coming face to face with Emma. "Noah? What do you mean? What encounter have you had with our kidnappers?" Emma asked. Noah took a deep breath and sighed. "Well, since I don't have a choice." He thought as he cleared his throat and explained what had happened to him prior to falling asleep. He decided to leave the strangely vivid dream out, though. As everyone thought about this shocking news, one person decided to contribute. "Ooh! That's cool! Were the kidnappers cool?!" A girl with orange hair asked. The girl bounded up to Noah as the others became engaged in their own conversations once more. "What do you want?" Noah asked, not even bothering to hide his annoyance. "What's your name?!" The girl asked. "It's Noah." Noah stated before falling silent again. "Well, my name's Izzy! You seem like a lot of fun!" Izzy replied. "Great. I'm sure you'll find I'm the most fun person around." Noah deadpanned. "Great! I can't wait to see what you do!" Izzy replied before bounding away to annoy someone else. Noah sighed as he turned back to Owen, whose look had changed from confusion to determination. "Owen?" Noah asked. "You're wrong, Noah." Owen stated. "What? What am I wrong about?" Noah replied. "Anyone can be helped. We can save anyone from the cold grip of despair." Owen replied. Noah's eyes nearly bulged out of his sockets. "What's gotten into you, big guy?" Noah nervously asked. "The past, Noah. I'll never forget the way they stared at me when it happened." Owen replied. "The past? Who are you talking about? What about the past?" Noah replied. As quick as a flash, Owen's solemn face was replaced by his cheery one. "C'mon, little buddy. We still have some people to meet!" Owen exclaimed with his usual charisma. Noah was confused, to say the least. Was the cheery personality a façade? Who was Owen referring to? What was "it"? Noah's mind was swamped with questions he was worried he wouldn't receive answers too. As Noah's thoughts wandered, he allowed himself to be led elsewhere. He forced his thoughts aside once he heard someone speak. "Hey, kid." Someone said in a very gruff voice. Noah looked up and saw a hulking man with a menacing air. Next to him was a middle-aged man which Noah seemed to recognise. "Hey! Aren't you Chris Maclean?" Owen asked. The middle-aged man turned to Owen and flashed a cheesy smile. "In the flesh, baby!" He replied. "My name is Owen and this here is my buddy Noah." Owen said. "Nice to meet ya! This here is my partner in crime, Chef Hatchet!" Chris exclaimed as he pointed at the hulking man next to him. Chef didn't say anything, just scowled. "Well, nice to meet you, Chef." Noah said, being greeted with a gruff" You too, kid." Noah found himself drawn towards him for some unexplainable reason. "Hey, don't you recognize me?" Owen asked. "Should I?" Chris replied. "You should. I was gonna be on your newest show, man!" Owen replied. "New… show? I don't have anything new planned yet." Chris replied with a confused look. "Y-you don't?" Noah asked as Chris responded with a nod. "But I signed up to it! So did Owen, apparently." Noah explained. "What was it called again?" Chris asked. "Total Drama Island." Owen replied uneasily. "Nope, never heard of that before." Chris replied after a moments thought. "Are you kids alright? I know our situation isn't the best." Chris asked in concern. What is going on? Noah thought as Chris and Chef exchanged confused looks. Why doesn't Chris know the show he's supposed to host? What does Owen know that I don't? How did Dawn know everything about me? Why are we all here? Noah began to panic as he thought about each impossible question. Noah looked around and realised he was falling forward. "H-help…" Noah managed to croak out before everything went dark.

Emma's POV

Emma was shocked when she heard Owen shout "Clear a bed, stat!" Emma quickly got off of her bed and looked at Owen. Owen was holding Noah in his arms and had just laid him down. "What happened to him?!" Emma asked. "I think he panicked too much." Owen replied, not moving his eyes from Noah. "Noah! Can you hear me?!" Owen exclaimed. "Calm down, Owen. You can't just shout and expect it to work. WAKE UP!" Emma shouted. As Owen gave her a confused stare, Noah jolted awake.

Noah's POV

"W-what happened?" Noah asked. "You passed out after Chris told us that he didn't set up TDI." Owen explained. "TDI?" Noah replied. "Total Drama Island." Owen explained. "Oh. Right." Noah said. "What's this about Total Drama Island?" Another girl asked. She looked similar to Emma with a more carefree smile on her face. "Oh, hello! I don't think we've met!" Owen exclaimed. "My name's—" The girl began before being cut off by Emma. "Her name's Kitty. She's my sister." Emma interrupted. "Sister?" Noah questioned. "I mean, they look alike but… these kidnappers have kidnapped me and Owen, both of us were going to compete on TDI and two siblings? How planned was this? How did they know how we were linked?" Noah thought. Noah felt a migraine coming on as Emma responded. "Yeah, she is. I really hope we can get out of here." "No, I was planning on living here for the rest of my life. You weren't?" Noah replied. Emma laughed before responding" A real tourist hotspot." As Emma and Noah continued their battle of wits, Owen and Kitty awkwardly watched. "Do you wanna…" Kitty broke the silence. "Yeah, that would be for the best." Owen responded as the two walked off.

Owen's POV

"Well, who should we talk to? There's so many people here!" Kitty exclaimed. "Those guys seem cool!" Owen exclaimed as he walked over to three people. One of the three was trying to restrain a second person from attacking a third. "Woah, what's going on here?!" Owen exclaimed, getting the person trying to attack another into a bear hug. "Let go of me!" She yelled. "No! Tell me what's wrong first!" Owen exclaimed. As the girl in Owen's clutches tried to wriggle her way out of his beefy arms, the boy who had been trying to restrict her walked over. "Yo, dudes! What's goin' on?!" He exclaimed. "Nothing much! Just trying to save those poor boys life." Kitty exclaimed as she pointed to third person cowering in a corner. "Oh yeah, could you tell us what happened?" Owen asked. "Sure, dude! Courtney was talking to Ezekiel and Zeke said that boys were stronger than girls. Courtney then tried to kill him. I had to help a bro out!" The boy exclaimed. "Oh, wow! What's your name?" Owen asked. "The name's Geoff, dude! Nice to meet ya!" "Nice to meet you too, dude!" Owen exclaimed. The two shared a fist bump. However, this was all the opportunity Courtney needed to escape Owen's grasp. Owen gasped as Courtney approached Ezekiel. "P-please don't kill me, eh!" Ezekiel pleaded. Courtney sighed and brought her hand towards him. Owen closed his eyes, not wanting to witness the beating Ezekiel was about to receive. However, he heard nothing. Owen's eyes slowly opened and he saw that Courtney had pulled Ezekiel to his feet. "Hey, I think we got off on the wrong foot. Can you explain where you got those opinions from? Are they your own?" Courtney asked. "W-well, m-my dad told me that girls are weaker than boys. I-is he wrong?" Ezekiel asked. As Courtney started to lecture Ezekiel on how wrong he was, Owen looked confused. Kitty noticed this. "Is everything alright?" She asked. "Yeah. It's just… I thought Courtney would be a bit more vicious." Owen responded. "Me too, dude! I thought Zeke was a goner for sure!" Geoff exclaimed. "You guys are cool! Selfie time!" Kitty exclaimed. "YEAH!" Owen and Geoff exclaimed at the same time. Kitty laughed as she got out her phone and took a selfie with the two extremely extroverted people. "Nice!" Kitty exclaimed as she tucked it away. "Wait a minute, you have your phone?" Owen asked. "Yeah." So?" Kitty responded. "Call someone dude! We can totally get out of here!" Geoff exclaimed. "Oh, I already tried that. There's no service here." Kitty explained. "Oh…" Geoff said. "We'll still get out of here, though! Don't worry!" Kitty exclaimed. "Do you promise?" Geoff asked. Before Kitty responded, she saw Owen shaking his head. Kitty was confused but still responded "Of course!" "Yeah!" Geoff exclaimed. "Hey, guys." A girl said as she walked up to us. Following her were three other people, two boys and one girl. "Sup!" Geoff exclaimed. "How're you guys?!" Owen exclaimed. "Now, this is the kind of company I want." One of the boys commented as the girl said" Not too great, honestly. I'm just worried that we won't get out of here. I have a bad feeling." The girl said. "You do?" Owen asked, worried. The girl just nodded her head in response. "Well, I'm sure it'll be fine! What are your names?" Kitty asked. "Oh, well, I'm Bridgette. There's Duncan. Tyler and Lindsay." Bridgette explained. "Ah, well, I'm Kitty. This is Owen and this is Geoff." Kitty replied as she pointed them out in turn. "Are you Tyler?" Lindsay asked. "WHAT?!" Owen replied. Everyone in the group looked at Owen. "I mean… no, I'm not." Owen replied. "Oh, you're Oswald, right?" Lindsay asked. "Uh…" Owen wasn't saying anything, he looked both confused and worried. "His name is Owen, dude!" Geoff interjected. "Hey, Geography!" Linday exclaimed. "Don't bother. She's the dumbest person I've ever met." Duncan explained. "No, she's not! She's smart, she just struggles with names!" Tyler replied. "How long have you known this girl?" Duncan shot back. Tyler opened his mouth to retort but quickly shut it. "Exactly." Duncan said. "I'd love to stay and chat, dudes but we better go meet some new peeps!" Geoff exclaimed. "Ye- ooh!" Kitty exclaimed. "What's wrong?" Owen asked with a concerned stare. "We should take a group picture!" Kitty exclaimed. "What's the point of that?!" Duncan asked. "Well, it could count as evidence of what's happening to us once we get out of here." Kity explained. "Evidence of us having a good time?" Duncan countered. "C'mon, Duncan. Let's just do it." Bridgette interjected. "Psh, whatever." Duncan rolled his eyes. "Ok, go spread the news!" Kitty exclaimed, looking more excited than she had so far. The group split up to gather people.

Noah's POV

"Yeah, because—" Noah began but he was interrupted by Owen. "What's up?" Noah asked. "We're taking a group picture." Owen explained. "Great. Seems like everyone's forgotten we've literally been kidnapped." Noah replied. "Eh, we could use it as evidence of our kidnapping." Emma replied. "Touche. Alright, we're in." Noah replied. Owen nodded and walked away. As Noah glanced around, he noticed Kitty's phone had been set up so it would take an automatic picture once everyone was ready. "Ok, let's get this over with." Noah grumbled. "Oh, come on, Noah. It won't be that bad." Emma replied. As Noah continued to grumble, the two got into the shot. By now, everyone else was in the shot and Kitty was waiting for both Emma and Noah. Emma walked to the front of the shot and Noah reluctantly joined her. Noah got into a pose but Owen wrapped his arm around Owen's head , putting him into a headlock. Izzy suddenly jumped onto Owen's shoulder and posed. After realising everyone was ready, Kitty got the camera ready and joined her sister. The camera flashed and the picture was taken. "Nice! An 87 person photo!" Kitty commented. "As much as this photo is "cool", I believe you are all forgetting that we have been kidnapped. Our captors could show up at any second. We need to be prepared." Scarlett explained. The room grew silent quickly. "Thank you. Someone realistic in this dump." Noah said. "Alright, I suggest we all briefly introduce ourselves to make communication easier." Scarlett explained. There were murmurs of agreement from the crowd.

FIRST PERSON FROM NOW ON(Noah)

"Good. In that case, let's begin." Scarlett said. Then, all 87 people introduced themselves. Including me again… I've had enough social interaction for one day. I still have a lot on my mind. What is Chris talking about? Is he lying about not hosting? Surely, you can't make that up. Also, Owen seems to know more than everyone else, plus he has a symbol next to his number. How strange… I don't know if I'm right but I already have a few suspicions about the possibility of there being someone in this group behind this, or at least working for them. However, there's far too many suspects and far too little evidence so far. I'm not as dumb as the others though. They think that the cops will magically show up and save the day? Give me a break. Something like this requires co-ordination. Co-ordination requires planning. The people keeping us here will have planned for the cops trying to save us, so for now we just have to play along. Even though, I'll probably never see any of these people again after this, I do find myself drawn to a few. I do dislike most of the group but Emma, Kitty, Owen and surprisingly Chef stick out to me. I don't know but something about him makes me want to trust him… even though he could kill me if he wanted to. Ugh, trust. I can't let myself put trust in someone without evidence that they're trustworthy. I have no clue why me and these people were chosen to come here but they must have a purpose for this. What would be the point of keeping us in a room for the rest of our lives? Is that their plan? To let us starve? My paranoia continues to grow and grow as I look at all the supposedly friendly faces.

Owen's POV

Well, I think that this is going well so far. I've met some new people and even made a couple of friends! Even with what's coming, I'll make sure to help my friends as much as I can. Protect them from the mastermind. Even though they're not a saint, I can't believe they'd resort to this. They haven't even met all of these people. Well, what I've heard from Noah and the others confirms that the mastermind is telling the truth. I just have to help everyone and get everyone out of this alive. I need to stop the mastermind if I can. If not, well... "Hey, Owen." I was shaken out of my thoughts from someone saying my name. I looked around and saw Noah. "What's up, dude?!" I exclaimed. Noah flinched for some reason. "Calm down. I just wanted to check if you were okay." Noah replied. I felt touched. Noah hasn't exactly been the most caring person I've ever met. "I'm fine! What would I be worried about?!" I responded. "I never asked if you were worried about something." Noah replied, a smirk on his face. Damn it! I should've known Noah would do something like that. After all…" Well?" Noah asked, relishing in his victory. " Well, I-I guess I'm just worried about why we're here." Owen replied. Technically not lying. Good job, Owen. "Yeah, it is pretty worrying. Well, I doubt anything too bad will happen. There's 87 of us, we stand a good chance if anything comes at us." Noah explains. Oh Noah, if only you knew… "Right, you're right." I say as my worried expression turns into a cheery one. Even if it's just a mask to hide behind, I'm glad I make other people feel better with it. "Can I ask you a question?" Noah asked. "Of course, buddy!" Owen replied. "Why do you have a maple leaf next to your number?" Noah asked, not wasting time and cutting to the chase. I start to sweat as I realise I don't have a good explanation. "I-I'm not sure." I explain. "Right." Noah replied, a suspicious look on his face. "Noah, buddy, you don't think I did this, right?" Owen asked. Noah sighed before responding" It's a possibility, Owen." What?! I look at my friend in shock. "Owen, we've not known each other for that long. Besides, you can't trust anyone. Blind trust is stupid. It only leads to disappointment." Noah lectures. I feel myself starting to get angry, as I clench my fists. "Er… Owen?" Noah asks. "Sorry, I just… nothing." I mumble. Noah raises an eyebrow at me, before nodding and turning away. "I trust you, Noah." I whisper as he keeps walking. He doesn't stop moving. I guess he didn't hear me.

Noah's POV

I've done nothing wrong. Still, I feel horrible. Frickin' horrible. Owen is my friend, sure but I haven't known him for that long. Plus, who knows who the mastermind of this could be? Even though I justified the situation to myself, I feel like I've just committed a crime. I sigh as I try to get my emotions in order. I can't afford to lose focus. The priority needs to be getting out of here. These people don't matter to me anyway… do they?

Emma's POV

I see Noah walking away from a sad Owen. What did he say to make Owen sad? Did he take a joke too far? I can worry about that later. Right now, I need to focus. I need to ensure me and my sister get out of here, no matter the cost. I'm sure it won't come to that but I have to be prepared for every possibility. Despite this thought, what happens next is something I'm not prepared for. A loud sound pierces my ears. I, along with everyone else, turn around to see that a hidden door has opened. Really? Why not just a normal door? Out of it stepped people wearing red outfits and masks with different shapes on them. What the hell?! I quickly move over to Kitty, who steps behind me. The guard at the front begins to speak. "Greetings, contestants. I'm sure you're all wondering why you're here…" They stated, drawing out the tension for as long as they can. "You are all hear to compete in the Squid Games." The guard finished.

Noah's POV

Did I hear that right? The supposed mastermind of this whole operation had asked me if I knew what the Squid Game was, which means that that question wasn't just a random question. It meant something, just like the next sentence the guard utters. "There are a total of six games. The first game will begin now. Please follow me." The guard explains as the guards all turn and walk through the door they had entered. I turn to the person next to me, who happened to be Lindsay and realise she is as stupid as they come and as such, probably wasn't worried by this turn of events and just shrugged. No-one else had moved yet and I decided to go first. I heard movement behind me as I entered the darkness of the door, meaning the other 86 contestants were joining me most likely. I took a deep breath. Seems to me like these games are beginning. If only I knew the horrors that I would witness as soon as I stepped into the blinding light.
