Familial Gravity 3 (JJBA x The Owl House, Luz'sBrother!OC)
Luz Noceda was... happy. But mostly tired. Mentally exhausted was the best way to describe herself, but she was glad that she was done at her first year at the University of Wild Magic.
She would lie if she said that she had a difficult time early on as her Glyphs were quite impressive enough to keep her grades up, the issues coming along when new ones were used which Luz had absolutely no clue about. From her understanding, ever since Luz took a break from magic to enjoy peace and her relationship with Amity, Lilith had been on the move to study the subject more and then give Eda the notes she was able to confirm.
So, now she had more Glyphs to learn, some of which could be quite complex and yet so satisfying in their good effects.
But that was stuff for school, and school was over for this these few months as she passed the final exam of the first year with flying colors.
Luz knew already that her mother had planned a big feast for her amazing results, and that everyone was invited and coming to it. Then again, the big feast was going to be more than just for her - all those in her classroom that she knew would be there too after all.
It was something else that got her attention, the strange 'mention' of a special guest at the party. Vee was aware of the truth too, but it was seemingly just her mother and the basilisk that knew what was up. To Luz, however, this didn't mean much. It was still going to be a big feast and Luz was truly excited for it.
Hours went by and soon her home was packed with lots of familiar faces. Eda had tried to 'smuggle' booze in the living room, causing Luz's mother to heat up over the idea of using anything too strong for the 'kids'. Luckily for her, Luz was able to prove she was born with a low endurance to alcohol after giving a try the Hard version of the Apple Blood; something that Luz was quite embarrassed about but that at least made her wary of drinking anything that was considered mild.
So, she kept away from the alcohol, focused on talking around, enjoying the nice snacks and ponder on who was going to be this mysterious guest to the party since he wasn't there. She knew from some clever prodding from Vee that it was a guy and not a chick, but Luz just couldn't think of who that may be.
It was only midway into the party that her mother was checking by the window that the woman appeared relieved and moved to approach Luz.
"Hija, could you please go at the door and open up to our... surprise guest?"
Luz frowned, but nodded and happily skipped to reach the front door. No one had rang there just yet, but something about her mother's giddy smile gave her a sense that this wasn't going to be a scary surprise. And as she reached to open the door, she was able to surprise the guest right as he was reaching for the doorbell's button and...
Luz froze up.
Looking up at the man's face, there was no doubt in her mind on who it was despite how long it's been since she had last seen him. Her frame was stiff, her mind went slightly blank and Luz was hit by a wave of strong feelings.
"...Hello hermana."
Teo Noceda was back. And he looked so different from the last time she had last seen him. Her brother used to be this tough but nice person, always trying to stand out and be 'strong' but always coming off as upset and very prone to cause messes.
Differently from Luz, who was less inclined towards violence, her brother was quite know in getting into fights. And when he got caught six years ago in that horrible situation, she thought she would have never seen him again after the trial.
A ten years-old jail sentence was a long one, and since mom refused to keep contact with how things were going, Luz ended up forgetting of this very important bit of her life. Not as much as completely ruling him out of the family, but enough to no longer consider part of the equation.
Until now.
"Y-You are- you are really out?"
"Yup."
"How- How long?"
"Three years ago give or take. It was a bit of a long process and-" Before her brother could finish, Luz went for a hug. A tight embrace at that as it confirmed he was truly here right now.
"Missed you," She mumbled, holding back the tears and yet failing to not tremble a bit as he patted her head.
"Missed ya too. So... I heard from mom you got to college. And today's was the party."
She nodded, then looked up. "How- How are you?"
"Good enough, but you?"
"The best possible," Luz smiled widely. "Oh, there's a lot I have to tell you and- and I made so many friends and I have-"
"A girlfriend, mom told me that. Congrats."
Beaming at the positive outcome of that 'mini-coming out' Luz stepped back from her brother.
"Mom is really fine with-"
"She is the one that asked me to be there. She said you would have appreciated."
And she did. But as she took to lead him to the living room and introduce him to the rest of the guests, Luz realized two big things she had not considered to have to explain and... deal with potential awkward questions.
After all, she hardly told anyone she had siblings before Vee was adopted, and, at the same time, she never had much of a chance to explain to her brother that she had gone through a crazy adventure involving magic, evil men of the 18th Century trying to destroy all witches, and ending up having her own anime transformation to booth.
How was she supposed to defuse that very delicate and quite intense situation?

AN
Cue Crazy meeting Bizarre. I held back from outright adding the 'encounter' just yet since I think it should be approached by Teo's POV, but I can assure you it will all be incredible. Especially since Teo is not single and... his girlfriend is currently going on a trip across the US while they have a 'turn being parents to a certain friend of them'.
