Chapter 2: Reunion by fate…
Spoilers ahead from Yakuza 1/Kiwami and Yakuza 6! You are warned!
When morning had risen, Kiryu got up to look for clues on if his children had ended up in Okinawa or somewhere else. Kiryu got prepared for the day to look for them by stepping out of Hotel Gracery and onto the streets of Kabukicho.
Kiryu tried to look for a pharmacy to stack up his health in case he encountered somebody bad. Kiryu was walking for a while and he's at the southern end of Kabukicho. Then, Kiryu found the Pharmacy store and he went in there to get his supplies.
In the early afternoon, Kiryu didn't encounter anyone bad in Kabukicho. Kiryu thought to himself, "Well, that was a peaceful walk. I haven't felt that peaceful in 32 years, that's for sure. Now…I definitely couldn't find any clues regarding whether or not my children are in Okinawa or somewhere else. Not even news sites have updated anything in online format!".
Kiryu's starting to feel frustrated about his progress and continued to think, "Maybe…I need to talk to someone like…a girl? Can't be Yumi…ooh, how about Sayama Kaoru?! Maybe she knows about this place…I better call her soon!", and he headed to Theater Square to call Kaoru in peace and Kiryu's heart was beating fast in excitement.
Kiryu was in Theater Square and he dialed the phone number in an attempt to call Kaoru. Kiryu heard the phone dialing the number at first and it went silent. Then, he heard a woman in an automated voice speaking Japanese stating, "We're sorry your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the number and dial again. ".
A different woman with an automated voice said the same thing in English. The automated voice in Kiryu's phone had repeated itself one more time in Japanese and English, and then his phone ended with a Japanese-style reorder tone.
Kiryu wondered why the phone contact of Kaoru Sayama wasn't working for a moment. Kiryu then realized that he forgot that Kaoru was in the United States due to serving his prison time for 3 years and hasn't contacted her since then. Kaoru also has a different phone number that's provided in the United States, thus rendering her old phone number in Japan to be nonexistent.
Kiryu definitely felt guilty for not attempting to make a call to Karou during the time when he's out of the prison, whether in Okinawa, Kamurocho, or Onomichi, Kiryu wished he should've contacted Karou before he "died" in Onomichi.
Kiryu remembered that he needed a "Telephone Card" in order to make an international call to the United States of America where Kaoru was back then because when Kiryu tries to dial directly to her new number for the first time, he got an expensive phone bill that Kiryu has to pay up this month thanks to him making an international call to the USA.
Kiryu went to a FamilyMart to get a "Telephone Card". Kiryu successfully purchases a prepaid phone card in the store and gets out of the store. Kiryu then headed to Theater Square where he could call Kaoru in peace.
Before doing the dialing, Kiryu wondered if Karou had ended up in the "alternate universe / dimension" as well due to the fact that he somehow ended up in "Kabukicho", a place that Kiryu similarly felt familiar as "Kamurocho'' in his own "universe / dimension". Kiryu believes that Kaoru is supposedly transported to the "alternate USA" if he's correct about his hypothesis. There was only one way to find out for sure…
Kiryu first dialed the local access number from the card. Kiryu was then told from his phone to enter his PIN number. Kiryu then entered his PIN number and he was told to enter his destination number. Kiryu then entered his destination number that could reach Kaoru…
Kiryu hoped that he remembered Kaoru's phone number correctly…and he was told by his phone that "The number you are calling does not exist. Please check the number and try again.". Kiryu looked shocked because he's sure that he entered the phone number correctly. Kiryu went to his contacts to see if he entered Kaoru's USA phone number correctly.
Kiryu sees it and he was sure that he remembered the number correctly thanks to frequent contact with Kaoru back then. Kiryu was determined to try calling Kaoru one more time and he dials through his phone and…It failed the second time. Kiryu felt strongly heartbroken.
Kaoru wasn't in the "real world universe" and Kiryu now knows it. Kiryu felt quite depressed from that ordeal…and he went to a bar somewhere in Kabukicho where he can have a drink to drown the sorrows that he's currently feeling for the rest of the afternoon.
Early in the evening, Kiryu was walking south on Kabukicho Ichiban-gai Street, passing the ManBoo cafe when he saw something that he couldn't believe from his own two eyes and all of a sudden, Kiryu stopped walking.
Haruka was giving Haruto a push in his stroller and was heading north on Kabukicho Ichiban-gai Street. Haruto was reaching his arm out waving, looking quite happy on seeing a certain someone that he hasn't seen for a while…
Haruka asked, "What is it that you're happy about?", and she stops pushing Haruto on a stroller. Haruka couldn't believe in her own eyes.
Kiryu and Haruka look at each other face to face. Haruka said, "O-Ojisan?! Y-You're alive!". Haruto looked really happy to see him and waved both of his arms again.
Kiryu still looked shocked and replied, "H-Haruka!?". Haruka then ran up to Kiryu and hugged him tightly.
Haruka then said, "Ojisan…I was told that you're dead, yet you're alive! I don't want you being gone again…I missed you so much!".
Kiryu finally calmed himself down and suggested to her, "Haruka-chan…why don't we go to a Hotel where the Millennium Tower was in our universe and talk about…what just happened in our own room, okay?".
Haruka said to him, "Okay, but you must walk besides me and stroll with Haruto, Ojisan…". Kiryu nodded and he held onto the stroller handle where Haruto was sitting. They both then walk to Hotel Gracery together and Kiryu requests to re-registered him to Haruka's room. The request was granted and Kiryu was in the room together with Haruka and Haruto.
In the late evening, Haruka managed to put her son Haruto to sleep. Haruka said, "I wanted to thank you again for not only helping to take care of Haruto, but also spending some time with me for the last three years Ojisan…".
Kiryu smiled and said, "You're welcome Haruka. I'm very glad to see that you two are okay in the 'alternate world'. I've missed you two so much for three years and I never thought that I'll be spending time with you again after I've faked my 'death' from 'Onomichi'.".
Haruka replied, "Yeah…I missed you too. I thought that when I landed in the 'alternate universe', it made me feel more painful that not only I won't see you again after you've 'died', but I also wouldn't be able to go see any of the cemetery to see the people that I've lost during the years, including you, mom, Nakahara, and Yuta…the latter two being really recent from the last few days.", and Haruka then grabbed Kiryu tightly and cried on his shoulders. Kiryu then gave a pat on Haruka's back.
Kiryu also felt quite sad and said, "Yeah…I can relate to that. I thought that I'll never see you again too Haruka. It's that kind of pain when I've arrived in the 'alternate universe'. The pain of not knowing if you two are going to be okay…", and Kiryu hugged Haruka tightly.
They let go of each other and Kiryu thought, "Now what? I…I found Haruka and she's okay…and I found Haruto too…it's just that…I've never done it out of how our relationship is portrayed on the outside. As years went by, I only felt like I'm really interested in Haruka...Will I ever confess my strong feelings towards Haruka!? I can't properly confess to either Yumi-chan or Kaoru-chan when they aren't around anymore…", and Kiryu remembered that Yumi had passed away from her injuries after an explosion from the Millennium Tower.
Outside, parts of the Millennium Tower were burning. Kiryu was holding Yumi that got injured on the ground while Haruka was ducking down before sitting down, looking quite worried.
Kiryu said to Yumi, "Yumi. Yumi. Yumi, answer me!".
Haruka said to Yumi, "Mommy!".
Yumi answered to Haruka, "I'm sorry, Haruka…finally…you got to call me mommy…".
Kiryu said to Yumi, "Yumi. The last 10 years…no, before that…I'm sorry for not telling you this: I really like you. I've always wanted to be with you back then.".
Kiryu held up the ring and Yumi responded, "Kazuma…the ring. You kept it safe for me all this time?".
Kiryu explained, "It was Shinji. Shinji took the ring back from Nishiki before he died.".
Yumi answered, "That's wonderful. It's all coming back to me...It's the only thing…you ever gave it to me…as a present.
Kiryu nodded and Yumi felt her injuries for a moment before saying, "Th-Thank you…". Yumi was struggling for a moment due to her injuries before continuing to say, "I think…I-I…was the one…running away from everything…Even…from you…and from Nishikiyama-kun…But you know what…I have no regrets. Not one. I'll never forget you…even if I lost my memory again, I'll still remember you.".
Yumi's left chest has a "Queen of the Night" lotus tattoo and stated, "I got this tattoo. The 'Queen of the Night.'. Whether it was just one night…or even just a glance…I wanted to see you once again, Kazuma. At last, my wish…was granted.", and she took a lot of breath feeling the pain.
Haruka sadly exclaimed, "Mommy!".
Yumi then says, "Haruka…listen. No matter what happens…never run away from anything. Because if you do, your chance of happiness will slip away…just like mine. Remember that.". Yumi then touches Haruka's really sad face while struggling to say, "Never…run…away...", and her arm has dropped down.
Yumi had stopped breathing…Kiryu tried to shake Yumi to get up. No response. Kiryu exclaimed, "Yumi. YUMI. YUMI!".
Haruka desperately yelled, "MOMMY!".
Kiryu wasn't feeling great when he lost his childhood sweetheart. Not only it affected him deeply, it also affected Haruka as she had lost her mother that she never got enough time to talk to. Kiryu never got a chance to go on more dates with Yumi thanks to the succession war that's coming from the Tojo Clan.
Kiryu understandably knows it's wrong to do so, but strongly thought, "I know the fact that I've adopted her as my daughter but…I have had very strong feelings for Haruka since Yumi passed away, Kaoru left for America, and we've moved to Okinawa with kids. I felt like my life isn't fulfilled without a girlfriend…I'm not into guys at all. I've beat bad people around so much that it turns me off. I think it's better that I've to say something to Haruka and live to regret it rather than running away from this kind of problem for the rest of my life…like Yumi did for 10 years!".
Kiryu still looked sad and Haruka noticed. Haruka asks, "...What's wrong Ojisan? Is there something…you wanted to tell me?", and she looked concerned about the subject that Kiryu's going to say.
Kiryu then takes a deep breath and says this, "Haruka…there's something that I wanted to tell you…but it's going to make me regret it later on though involving the both of us. I just want to say something that I should've told you when you woke up from the hospital before I 'died'.".
Haruka wondered if it's another lecture from him. While she does respect Kiryu for being a father-figure to her, she didn't feel like listening to him over that. Haruka sighs, hoping that it wasn't another lecture from him, and questions, "And what would that be Ojisan?".
Kiryu got nervous for a moment and felt like he couldn't talk for half a minute due to a seriously taboo topic that he had to bring up if he wanted to keep himself seriously motivated in life as an ex-yakuza. Haruka noticed that she wasn't about to get lectured at all and she also got nervous.
Finally, Kiryu then confessed, "Haruka…I…I wanted to go…beyond a…father-daughter relationship…I like…you. I like you…in a different way. Do you want to…spend more…time with…me?", and Kiryu nervously smiled, expecting a possible rejection from Haruka.
Haruka gasps on Kiryu's unexpected confession and thought for a second before saying, "For real Ojisan…?", and Haruka went silent, looking quite flustered after Kiryu's suggestion. Haruka requested, "Excuse me Ojisan…I have to go to the restroom.", and she walked away from Kiryu and went to the restroom.
Kiryu believes that he got rejected due to imaging Haruka throwing up in the toilet. Kiryu thought, "I knew it. This wasn't a good idea after all. I really wanted to be there for Haruka-chan for the rest of my life to protect her.". Kiryu felt that he was rejected by Haruka. Kiryu decided to leave the room where they're in and be a homeless person once again since 1988.
Haruka comes out of the restroom with her face washed up and sees that Kiryu was about to leave the room looking dejected. Haruka exclaimed, "W-Wait, Ojisan! Please don't go!".
Kiryu let go of the door looking surprised and asked, "H-Haruka? I-Is there something you want to tell me?", and he approaches Haruka.
Haruka replied, "I-I wasn't rejecting you...Ojisan! I was shocked that you've confessed your TRUE feelings towards me…h-honestly, I like you too! I thought that day would NEVER come! I've been speculating about your feelings towards me for YEARS Ojisan. I'm glad I'm not really thinking and feeling alone anymore…you'd be a really cool boyfriend and a good husband in my eyes. I would hate the idea of you going out with someone else.".
Kiryu now looked happy to see Haruka accepting his confession despite the father-daughter relationship that they've established years prior even though they're NOT biologically related to each other. They've been together for quite a while and the first thing Haruka did is give Kiryu a hug and tell him, "From now on, I'll call you Kiryu-chan since we're now dating together!".
Kiryu smiled and said to Haruka, "That's great then. Why don't we get ready to go to dinner downstairs then Haruka-chan?". Haruka nodded and they both got prepared to go have dinner downstairs together. Haruka even brought Haruto with her, with Kiryu agreeing Haruka to bring him along in case something happens to Haruto.
The three were in Bonsalute KABUKI where it's an Italian Restaurant that features a pizza oven. They were having a conversation with each other about how they've accidentally got themselves transported from their respective "Kamurocho Universe" to the "Kabukicho Universe / Dimension".
Haruka finishes off with, "...oh, so that's how you got to the 'real world universe'. Dr. Eggman-san and Tsuruno-san helped you get out of the Daidoji Faction because they believed that they're connected towards the Omi Alliance and the government in the 'Kamurocho universe'. After you've done all kinds of stuff to help Kasuga-san, Dr. Eggman-san then uses the Phantom Ruby towards you that causes you to end up in the 'Kabukicho universe'. The way I enter it is kind of different…cause that explains why the Daidoji Faction were around Okinawa…".
Kiryu questioned, "How so Haruka-chan?". Haruka then started explaining about what happened when she got transported from the "Kamurocho Universe" to the "Kabukicho Universe / Dimension".
Haruka started off with, "Well, when Haruto and I were at the beach in front of the Morning Glory Orphanage at night…that was on fire.".
At night, Haruka was carrying Haruto home when suddenly, she saw many people surrounding the neighborhood. When she got there, the front of Morning Glory Orphanage was burning. Haruto was crying and Haruka asked, "What just happened!?".
Dr. Eggman was walking away from the Morning Glory Orphanage and Haruka realized that Dr. Eggman must've done something with it. Haruka angrily yelled, "HEY! Dr. Eggman-san! Did you do something to Morning Glory Orphanage!? Where's my kids!?".
Dr. Eggman said in a sarcastic tone, "No! It wasn't me! It was the Daidoji Faction!". Haruka got kind of angry, Haruto was crying, and Dr. Eggman decided to do something drastic. Dr. Eggman took out his Phantom Ruby while exclaiming, "Get a load of this!".
The phantom ruby was "acting strange" and Haruka thought that she saw Kiryu and exclaimed, "Ojisan!?". Haruto then sees Kiryu, causing him to be happy again…or that's what he sees at least. The phantom ruby was generating another form of augmented reality manipulation and then instigating the space-time altering powers that caused it to warp the fabric of space-time.
Haruka and Haruto were screaming in the process, causing themselves to disappear. Haruka and Haruto got themselves transported from the phantom ruby and Haruka was holding Haruto real tight for a moment.
They ended up being transported outside between the liquor and the tall building. People just gave a glance towards both of them and then walked by Haruka and Haruto as if nothing had happened. Probably a normal day for the people who walked by.
Haruka questioned, "Where are we…?", and she looked around for a moment. She saw a liquor store that's called "Shinanoya" on the red sign. She also noticed that the place that she got transported looked familiar…but couldn't figure it out for sure.
Haruka then walked northwards while still carrying Haruto and…she saw the APA Hotel from her right and decided to go in there to get information.
When Haruka walked in, she went to the receptionist asking, "Hey, excuse me?".
The receptionist answered, "How can I help you today?".
Haruka thought about how to ask a proper question without embarrassing herself and then she got an idea. She asks, "...Could you please give me an address on this place?".
The receptionist responded, "Certainly. Our address for this APA Hotel is: [REDACTED].".
Haruka takes out her phone to get an address from this hotel and she looks surprised upon seeing the name of the district. The receptionist finishes off with, "Is there anything else I can help you with ma'am?".
Haruka replied, "Nope, it's just what I needed to hear. I fully understand where we are now.".
The receptionist said, "Arigatogozaimashita.", and Haruka left the APA Hotel satisfied.
After Haruka had just left the APA Hotel, Haruto was crying and Haruka had to tell him to be quiet. Haruka said to him, "Don't worry Haruto, we'll be going to the store together to get what we needed…", and continued to shush him until he's quiet.
Haruka felt tired of carrying Haruto around. Haruka thought to herself, "If I start from Hotel Gracery that's faces on Central Road, I just have to go south until I see the Don Quijote Shinjuku Building that's on my left and I'll be able to get what Haruto needed: Some diapers, some milk, and a stroller. I'm feeling tired of carrying him around anyway.".
Haruka then went ahead with her plans and hoped that she wouldn't encounter any difficulties on this particular trip with Haruto.
Outside of the Don Quijote Store, Haruka's done changing Haruto's diaper, Haruto drinking milk, and putting Haruto in the stroller, Haruka was relieved that she got things done thanks to getting the material that she needed from the Don Quijote Store.
Haruka said to Haruto, "Alright son, let's explore this district together and hopefully understand the situation that we're currently in.". Haruto smiled in response and laughed. Haruka then starts pushing Haruto in the stroller around Kabukicho.
Haruka finishes off with, "...and that's how I got to this 'Kabukicho Universe / Dimension', and seeing you here…makes me happy Kiryu-chan. You've already explained why you had to disappear from our own universe…I wasn't happy to hear about that.".
Kiryu apologized again to Haruka and added, "I don't want you being involved in the Gokudo-style life anymore due to my association with it. Faking my 'death' is the only way that I can truly protect you from that tough lifestyle thanks to corrupt politicians for helping me out. Dr. Eggman-san sure has a lot of issues with everyone by lying to people at the start. I hope Dr. Eggman-san doesn't harm the children and is genuinely telling the truth. Dr. Eggman-san taught me a lot, including alternate dimensions. Is it dimension or is it universe Haruka-chan?".
Haruka understood him and added, "I would've gone universe over dimension due to the 4th dimension not existing yet. My fate is bound to you since then. If it wasn't for you looking for my mom, I wouldn't be here with you today. I'm seriously grateful that you've cared for me…I'm happy that you still wanted to be with me for the rest of my life Kiryu-chan…and yeah, Dr. Eggman-san should be telling the truth to more people from now on. I'll be willing to forgive him as long as he doesn't harm the children if we'll ever see them again alive…".
Haruka, Haruto, and Kiryu were happy for each other and showed disgust regarding Dr. Eggman. Kiryu and Haruka had ordered their food and they made sure that they would share some of the food with Haruto. After eating, Kiryu paid the bill and they headed up to their room.
At night, Haruka had put Haruto to sleep. Kiryu was feeling great until he had an erection and Haruka somewhat noticed it thanks to his face. Haruka said to Kiryu, "Um…I'm sorry to say this Kiryu-chan, but I'm not ready to make love with you just yet.".
Kiryu widened his eyes and said to Haruka, "Uh, Haruka…I wasn't going to do that with you yet…it's just that I have an erection that happens randomly. I don't have full control of it sometimes…", and he nervously chuckles. Kiryu's dirty thoughts of Haruka had appeared more often in Kiryu's mind since the confession.
Haruka responded, "...Right. Anyway, let's just go to bed for the night and I'll have a very serious discussion with you tomorrow regarding our overall relationship commitment with each other. Good night Kiryu-chan.". Haruka gave a huge kiss toward both cheeks of Kiryu and Kiryu did the same towards Haruka's cheeks.
Haruka just takes her sweatshirt off while Kiryu takes off just his gray suit and leaves the maroon shirt and gray pants on. They then got on the bed and slept throughout the night without doing anything else.
The next morning, Kiryu and Haruka were talking to each other in their hotel room after they ate breakfast together with Haruto being already fed with one. Kiryu and Haruka prepared to talk about their overall relationship moving forward.
Kiryu starts off with, "Okay, I know I've confessed it from my heart yesterday, but I'm very worried about the people around us if they found out the true extent to our secret relationship besides father and daughter thanks to video game adaptations that they made about us.".
Haruka nodded and added, "I'm aware of those adaptations, Kiryu-chan. I'm surprised that they were able to still stick to a mostly true story with the substories being a wackier edition for the game series. I'm surprised about the CERO rating that they gave out. Usually, I would've believed that they would've given the rating of Z due to strong subject matter regarding the yakuzas and their 'shady' businesses.".
Kiryu agreed and commented, "Yeah…can't believe that the rating went to a D instead. Our stories aren't really for kids you know. Out of all the developers that adapted one of my life stories, it's the publisher who made Sonic the Hedgehog series where Dr. Eggman-san originally came from. I remember the time that when they made Sonic for the PlayStation 3, I thought that the adaptation of my story to be made into Like a Dragon 3 would've ended similarly out of incompetent development, but I guess they must've adapted to the hardware system and succeeded in developing games for the PlayStation 3.".
Haruka then said, "The PlayStation 3 was a powerful game console at the time, but unforgivingly expensive though. What I've also researched about the series is that while the main series stays mostly true to the source material from the Tojo Clan, I'm surprised that they omitted some of the things that the Tojo Clan has done out of fear from CERO, including our true relationship that does go beyond father and daughter relationship every once in a while…".
Kiryu then stated, "And that's what we're worried about Haruka-chan. Since the adaptation of my time in the Tojo Clan has omitted key details about our relationship to an extent, I have a proposal for a plan to keep our relationship working: If we go beyond the father-daughter relationship that society had see us, then we have to keep our special intimate relationship as a secret as long as we mutually agree about the overall relationship. Otherwise, we'll have a really nasty kind of fallout on our relationship due to how seriously controversial AND illegal this kind of idea that we're doing.".
Haruka agreed and added, "I would agree to this kind of relationship Kiryu-chan. I've been ready for this kind of relationship with you for a LONG time. First, why don't we discuss the possible breakup of a relationship in case it doesn't work out, hm?".
Kiryu nodded and proposed, "Okay. Here are the rules that we're following: Number 1: You and I may still be able to go to strip clubs, go to cabaret clubs, and/or socialize with other people, even going as far as to date other people while we're having a secret relationship, Haruka-chan. It's a way to give an impression that we're not married at all to other people.".
Haruka didn't seem so sure at first, but answered back, "Alright Kiryu-chan. If we're out in public, I'll tell them that I'm your daughter and you tell them about me being my dad, okay?".
Kiryu nodded and added, "We may do these things while we're still in a relationship. I know that you used to have a relationship with Yuta and made Haruto exist and I'm aware of Yuta's loss of life from the Daidoji Faction's intervention in Okinawa…", and both stayed silent for a few moments. Haruka looked partially ashamed.
Kiryu then continued, "Haruka…I forgive you for that moment since I really wasn't around due to me being in jail during the time you've got Haruto by your side. I sincerely wanted to bury my ties between the Tojo Clan and move on from them, hoping that I can finally be at peace to be with you and Haruto-chan.".
Haruka felt slightly happy to hear her being forgiven by Kiryu over Haruto's existence. Kiryu then finally stated, "It was the past back then as our relationship was I'm an adoptive father and you're an adopted daughter. We were both orphaned in different ways. I adopted you out of the loss of Yumi, my former love, and now we can finally be boyfriend and girlfriend. Now, what we can't do when we have a different relationship with other people is have any form of sexual intimacy with any other people as that would mean that our special kind of relationship that we've worked on is for nothing. This kind of fallout isn't gonna make anyone happy about the idea. We should apply ourselves with these principles.".
Haruka agreed with how Kiryu stated the relationship between Yuta and Haruka. It was clear that due to Yuta being permanently unavailable, it's clear that Haruka tolerated the relationship with her former adopted father being turned into a boyfriend.
Haruka commented, "Well, I'm glad that you've forgiven us Kiryu-chan, especially letting Haruto in our relationship. I'll be glad to apply the principle that you've proposed and we'll be good to go! I hope we don't break up for doing this though…", and she checked on Haruto to make sure he's okay before looking back at Kiryu.
Kiryu was a little uncomfortable and decided to comment, "Yeah…about that Haruka…I was thinking about having to immediately break up with you because there is ONE other woman if she somehow has found me living in 'Kabukicho Universe'…".
Haruka gasped at his statement, got a bit angry, and sternly said, "Kiryu…who is that woman that you have a crush on that I don't know and what do you mean by that?", and she gave him a very stern look.
Kiryu had seen Haruka with various emotions while they lived in the Morning Glory Orphanage before and it didn't bother him. What bothered him is that she's not using any honorifics when she called his name. Kiryu simply said, "S-Sayama. Kaoru Sayama. Do you remember her Haruka-chan? The former Osaka Police Officer that I used to be with in Sotenbori?".
Haruka then stopped giving Kiryu a stern look and commented, "Oh…I see…Kiryu-chan…", and she looked a bit sad about it.
Kiryu became worried and he continued, "Alright Haruka-chan, I'll admit it: was trying to call Kaoru-san before I gave up due to possibly having a number that had no such association in the 'Kabukicho universe' after all before confessing my feelings to you. The truth is that I'm worried about my social responsibility of maintaining the relationships. I'd rather make sure that we have a secret breakup if my relationship with Kaoru-san is successful, but only if we mutually break up quickly. I would really not want Kaoru-san knowing about this secret relationship after all.".
Haruka stayed quiet for a moment, thinking about what Kiryu had said. Haruka answered, "...Well, if you take all the responsibility of breaking up our relationship entirely with Kaoru-san, that's fine with me. I did look up to Kaoru-san when I was young after all. But, I seriously don't want to leave you…Kiryu-chan.".
Kiryu said to Haruka, "Thank you. I understand that Haruka-chan. I do like you after all…and I want to stay with you for a long time. You're my only connection to…a happy family that I have wanted since the past years of my life that ended in 2005.".
Haruka smiled at that and said, "Well, I hope we can have a happier family together now than in the past, to the point that we could look like a successful family in the present. Let's go somewhere so we can have fun with each other like family.". Kiryu agreed and they left the room together with Haruto being carried by Haruka.
4 years later, Haruka and Kiryu were living in an apartment in Kabukicho due to the affordability of living there. Both of them have jobs…that are part-time due to needing to take care of their children Haruto, Kimura (their only biological daughter), and support each other in general.
Kiryu is working as a taxi driver for Tokyo and Haruka is working as a Karaoke Cashier. It's clear that Kiryu is obviously working at night while Haruka is working during the day. They were working hard to live in Kabukicho.
One morning, Haruka had a day off and Kiryu had just come back from work. Kiryu asks, "Hey Haruka, did we have enough money to pay the usual bills?".
Haruka replied, "Yep, we sure did. Now about the vacation fund, I think we could go a lot sooner if you could stop spending money on fast food. I know they opened early in the afternoon, but can't you at least come home for me so I can make dinner for you Kiryu-chan?".
Kiryu sternly answered, "No. Whenever I'm done with work, I need to buy something to eat immediately and I don't want to wait for your cooking to be done whenever I have work tomorrow, Haruka-chan. I need to go to sleep afterwards for my work days.".
Haruka replied, "Hmph, I'm surprised that you like to eat cooked hot food that's made fast around the streets, Kiryu-chan. I'm sure that you can't wait for my cooking to be done during your work days unlike your days off.".
Kiryu answered, "Your food tastes fine, Haruka-chan, but I have no time to waste because after I'm done eating, I need to go to sleep for the sake of my health. I know that the money is tight to the point that we can't really afford vacation soon enough.".
Haruka sternly replied, "Well, I'm becoming quite impatient to wait for a vacation and I saved up some of it. When is that going to be Kiryu-chan? I can't believe that we had to argue about this for at least a year and a half since we're in a relationship together…seriously, is our vacation going to be on the same week with the children, Kiryu-chan? If so, when can we get married?"
Kiryu took a deep breath before answering, "Well Haruka-chan, I do have some good news to share regarding my vacation week.".
Haruka seems slightly ecstatic and asks, "And what would that be Kiryu-chan?".
Kiryu clears his throat before answering, "Well, I was able to get my vacation approved at the same week as yours, the kids, and I have enough money saved up for a vacation. Not only that, I think I have enough money saved up for a wedding to be hosted during our vacation".
Haruka gasps at that and comments, "Well I'm quite impressed that you saved enough for not only our vacation, but our wedding as well…but I don't know if this will work after all. I mean, we could try to marry each other if Japan allows us to.".
Kiryu then replied, "Yeah…there's another problem here. We may have to mutually agree to having to be divorced if we're ordered by a court and cannot win the case against the court's order. However, we'll keep appealing this case until it gets to the Supreme Court of Japan which then we'll get divorced if we lose this case if we have enough money to save up for doing so. ".
Haruka said, "I hope the day doesn't come to that Kiryu-chan…It would be difficult to keep the relationship together if the court case has dragged on for quite a long time.", and she gave a hug towards Kiryu.
Kiryu gave her a pat on her back and said to her, "I hope not Haruka-chan…we've already gone further than before in our relationship. Let's just prepare ourselves to pack up to Hawaii because when our vacation starts, we can get there immediately and spend some more time together before we marry each other.". They let go of each other.
Haruka agreed and added, "Yeah, I'm thinking that if we're married over in Hawaii, we could cover up our relationship not just with other people in Japan, but to the Japanese Government as well. We'll at least claim invalidity due to 'registration error' that the U.S. Government did if we needed to have an immediate divorce due to public pressure. That way, we won't have to worry about how awkward our relationship is to the public, especially with our children's friends, students, and the teachers.".
Kiryu agreed and stated, "Besides, I don't know if people in the U.S. would really care about the series that SEGA had adapted from the Tojo Clan's stories and some of my stories. I'd be worried if they know a bit much about it, especially Sonic fans who at least cared enough to check out other SEGA games that they put up, including Like a Dragon series…".
Haruka then said, "Speaking of fans, I'm worried that if they found out about our marriage from the social media, they may not only try to cancel both of us, but put ourselves in danger from the worst side of the people to the point that one of them may attempt kill us someday, including Haruto and/or Kimura.".
Kiryu agreed and continued with, "Well, after what happened with dealing Iwami, I accepted the fact that I would have to 'disappear' because I've made an agreement with one of the 'fixer' men and in exchange, for the sake of what I treasure the most: You and Haruto-chan at the time. If I just went there, it would be considered a breach of contract on my part. Since I've seen Haruto's first steps in the orphanage, I had to leave. I'm not supposed to exist anymore…at least where 'Kamurocho Universe' existed.".
Haruka commented, "...and that's how you got involved with the Daidoji Faction afterwards.".
Kiryu answered, "Yep, I can only do so much with them. I wouldn't get too involved with the public afterwards. The public pressure has taken a toll for both of us thanks to you getting cancelled because of me. Even when I tried to hide, the Tojo Clan was still able to find me thanks to not only their networks, but the social media as well…either way, I felt liable to your dream of becoming an idol after what just happened. That's why I faked my death just to protect you, Haruka-chan.".
Both of them went very silent for a moment regarding their incident. Kiryu then finished off with, "If the public pressure had negatively affected us, we'll then break up just so we won't repeat the history once again. If things go really bad, remember: this is my key reason for breaking up with you Haruka-chan.".
Haruka then said, "Yes, those are the reasons that we will have to break up and I think we can seriously agree about this. Otherwise, we don't have a reason to do so right now. Now let's just pack up ourselves and wait until the day that we can go to Hawaii together.".
Kiryu asks, "Alright, what about our kids? We're going to bring them along for our Hawaiian Vacation together Haruka-chan?".
Haruka answered, "Yes, let's bring our kids too, Kiryu-chan. I don't want our son and / or daughter having the risk of getting kidnapped by someone who disagrees with the idea of us being together.", and Kiryu agrees with Haruka. They both ended up packing their clothes into their suitcase until they were ready to go to Hawaii together as a family.
The next day, Kiryu, Haruka, Haruto, and Kimura were at the Haneda Airport, getting tickets for the All Nippon Airways flight that can fly them from this airport to Daniel K. Inouye Airport.
The three had waited and when their plane arrived, they showed their tickets, and they got into the plane and the flight had taken off to Honolulu, Hawaii.
