Chapter 3: Code Kimura
Kiryu, Haruka, Haruto, and Kimura arrive at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport at midnight. Haruka exclaimed, "Wow! I can't believe that we're in Hawaii together, Kiryu-chan!", and she's pushing Haruto in the stroller, looking very happy.
Kiryu gave a smile towards Haruka and Haruto and said to her, "Yeah…I have enough money to do this after what happened in Onomichi. I can't believe that the money I got during my stint from Kamurocho was accepted here in the Kabukicho-universe as well…".
Haruto and Kimura are smiling. Haruka giggled and then asked, "So…where are we going to stay for the night, hmm?".
Kiryu then takes out his cellphone and looks for a hotel that they can stay at. Kiryu finds the hotel and suggests, "How about if we stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort? This place costs around $400, the hotel staff can speak Japanese, and most importantly, this place can offer service for children like Haruto-chan and Kimura-chan. Are you okay with it, Haruka-chan?".
Haruka thought about it for a moment before replying, "Yeah, Kiryu-chan. Let's go there for the night and get some sleep so we can spend time together tomorrow just like the old days.".
Haruto asked Haruka, "Aw mom, do we have to go to sleep? We just got up this morning…".
Haruka replied, "Yes Haruto-chan, we need to go to sleep. It's quite late at night due to time zone differences in the world. Just rest for a few more hours and then we'll go for a family vacation later, alright?", and Haruto grumbly accepts it.
Kiryu understood Haruto's dissatisfaction, but there's little Kiryu could do about it. The four walked towards the information center for more info about Hawaii, hoping that one of the customer service representatives could translate Japanese at the very least.
The next morning, Kiryu and Haruka were discussing each other on the balcony about what they should do for the next 7 days. Haruto and Kimura were beside Haruka. Kiryu asked, "So, where should we go first, Haruka-chan?".
Haruka answered, "Well, I've looked up online for answers and the first thing that I wanted to do in Hawaii is go for a swing at the Golf Sim Honolulu.".
Haruto asks, "...What's a golf sim?".
Kiryu answered, "When we get there, we'll show you how the golf sim works, Haruto-chan.", and they're off to the Golf Sim Honolulu.
In the evening, Everyone in the family was feeling exhausted after a round of golf. Kiryu then asks, "So…are we going someplace for the night Haruka-chan?".
Haruka then looks up her phone and she answers with, "Well…there's a place called Club Wave that serves food, darts we can play for fun, and pool tables that we can play against…what do you think Kiryu-chan? Do you all want to go there?", and she confidently glanced at him, hoping that Kiryu would agree with her on the basis of fun.
Haruto replied, "I'm hungry already! I want to eat…".
Kimura also answered, "Me too. I want food!".
Kiryu was tired, but since he's hanging out with his family in a foreign country, he replied, "Yeah..let's have more fun everybody…we'll also get something to eat over there.", and he called a taxi to get to Club Wave.
Later that night, they went back to their room in the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. Everyone was exhausted after spending the time around Honolulu. Haruka puts Haruto and Kimura to bed. Both of them fell asleep.
Kiryu felt exhausted and commented, "That was fun for the night Haruka-chan. I can't believe that you've won darts tonight…you were that good at aiming targets. Fight after fight, I must've lost focus as I'm getting older... ".
Haruka giggled and said, "Thanks. You were better at winning billiards. You've really got the strengths to hit multiple angles without getting too tired. I wasn't exactly putting my best strength at it because I wasn't that good at billiards. We are feeling tired after golfing after all and as time goes by, we are getting older indeed Kiryu-chan…".
Kiryu commented, "Well, the kids are enjoying it as well. Especially Haruto-chan, he's learning so fast about those games now…He tries his best to win at billiards, but doesn't. Haruto-chan didn't seem too upset though as he was more impressed by the tricks of playing billiards that he's learning from.".
Haruka added, "Yeah, he's getting good at both billiards and darts. Our daughter seems to look interested in it as well, but couldn't properly throw the dart missile at the darts yet. I told her not to worry about it cause she'll get the hang of it some day.".
Kiryu said, "Yeah, that's understandable.", and both were discussing about today for half an hour before getting prepared to go to bed by brushing their teeth, changing their clothes, and getting on the same bed together…
Kiryu then said, "Good night Haruka-chan.".
Haruka replied, "Same to you Kiryu-chan.", and they simultaneously fell asleep for the night.
Unfortunately, Kiryu felt quite sick the next morning while laying in bed. Kiryu tells everyone, "I'm sorry that I cannot go on a trip today…I have a headache and I don't know what caused me to have one…maybe it's me walking around in Hawaii that's really hot outside yesterday and it's starting to affect me because of my old age and because of my habits…You should probably go on without-".
Before Kiryu could finish his sentence, Haruka interrupted him by saying, "No Kiryu-chan. I won't leave you behind. I will take care of you like you take care of me…do you need a headache medicine Kiryu-chan? I'll buy you one from the store…".
Kiryu groaned for a bit before replying, "Yeah…I need the medicine…please come back soon…Haruka-chan. I honestly need you for comfort.".
Haruto commented, "Oh no daddy! Please don't get sick! We promise to have some fun!".
Kiryu groaned trying to answer, but Haruka replied to Haruto, "Son, please don't get upset. Sickness can happen on a random day. This is just not a lucky day for Kiryu-chan. How about we look around the store to see if you want anything from there, okay Haruto-chan?".
Haruto disappointedly said, "Okay mommy…".
Haruka turned back to Kiryu and replied, "I will Kiryu-chan. You rest on the bed while we go get the medicine for you.", and she left the room with Haruto and Kimura following Haruka.
At Wal-Mart, Haruka was looking around for medicine. Haruka thought, "Hmm…let's see. If I can remember correctly, the headache medicine should have a person's head showing pain…". Haruka then manages to find a medicine that can cure headaches for Kiryu.
All of a sudden, Kimura felt like she wanted to go to the restroom and asked Haruka, "Mommy! I need to go to the bathroom right now.".
Haruto originally didn't want to go to the restroom, but decided that just in case, he also demanded, "Mama, I also need to go too.".
Haruka was a little peeved, but said to both of them, "Alright, I'll wait for you guys outside of the restroom. Please don't take too long.", and they all went to the restroom at the front together.
In the restroom Kimura ran and accidentally tripped on a woman. The woman immediately asks in English, "Are you alright ma'am?".
Kimura replied in Japanese, "I'm sorry, but I need to use the bathroom now.", and she immediately went to the stall.
The woman replied in Japanese, "I'm asking you if you're okay?".
Kimura was shocked and replied back, "Uh…I'm fine. Don't worry about me. How about you?".
The woman answered, "I'm good. Nothing to worry about…may I ask your name please?".
Kimura hesitated a bit before replying, "Sawamura. Sawamura Kimura. Last name, first name.".
The woman then said, "One moment…", and she hid behind a restroom door, opening a little to see Haruka standing outside of the restroom. She closed the door and decided to make a call…
The toilet's been flushed and Kimura got out of the stall. Kimura saw the woman earlier, talking on the phone. Kimura heard her say, "...Yeah, get the car out to the front for at least 15 minutes. Alright, see you later.", and the woman turns off the phone.
The woman saw her and decided to introduce herself as, "Hey Kimura, my name is Arisu. Arisu Masamoto. First name, last name.".
Kimura exclaimed, "Ah, Arisu-san, nice to meet you! I'm hoping that my fall doesn't bother you too much.", and she felt slightly embarrassed.
Arisu replied, "Not at all. I'm hoping that you can answer some of my questions. First, may I ask what's your mom's name and what's your dad's name?".
Kimura started washing her hands and answered, "Uh…Sawamura, Haruka. Last name, first name from my mom. Kiryu, Kazuma. Last name, first name from my dad…why did you ask Arisu-san?".
Arisu was ecstatic and she started formulating a plan. Arisu thought, "Oh man, this is a perfect opportunity to turn the Underground Tojo Clan around! If I can get Kimura to come with me to the secret meeting place where the Tojo Clan are, I could finally get promoted to being the Captain of the Hitomi Family instead of being stuck as a status of the Captain of the Wu Family with everyone else's in the bottom as Kyoudai/Shimai of the Hitomi Family, including Mona-chan!".
Arisu looked at Kimura for a moment before thinking, "Kimura-chan is the perfect candidate for the 7th Chairman of the Tojo Clan! It's a miracle from God! That former 4th Chairman of the Tojo clan should be ashamed of himself for leaving! Kiryu-san has a daughter here and I can use it as leverage to my advantage!".
Arisu gets a little bit giddy about that prospect before she tells her, "Meet me at the video game section, but please come alone. I need to show you something important. It's only for your eyes. See you later, Kimura-chan.", and she left the restroom quickly.
Kimura noticed that she didn't wash her hands, but she shrugs it off as Arisu is acting just erratic. Kimura stops washing her hands, wipes her hands from the paper towel, throws it in the trash, and then leaves the restroom.
A white, brunette teen girl had come out from another stall, overhearing things outside the stall. She decided to use her phone to text her friends in case something foul could happen to Kimura. She partially understood Japanese and was aware of the yakuzas.
When they're in the clothing section, Kimura asks her mom, "Hey mom, can I go to the gaming section please? I'll come back in 5 minutes…".
Haruka is still looking for a surprise swimsuit for Kiryu to be impressed with and tells her, "Okay, but you need to choose your swimsuit first, okay? We'll be going to swim soon in Hawaii.".
Kimura then looks for a lot of swimsuits that she likes. It took her 10 minutes, but she finally found a one-piece suit that she likes. It's a simple, plain blue , she took it and gave it to Haruka, to which she replied, "Don't take too long because I'm almost done inside the store…".
Kimura then hurriedly ran towards the video game section before Arisu could scold her for being quite late.
At the checkout line, Arisu is waiting to pay for her game. The cashier told her the price and paid for it. Kimura ran up to her, bowing to her in the form of an apology, and stated, "I'm sorry for being late to the meeting.".
Arisu told her, "Not a problem. I was also trying to get a game that I need to show you first.", and she took the game out to show her. She showed her Yakuza 0 in the form of PlayStation Hits.
Kimura rises herself up and is shocked to see her dad in the game. Kimura commented, "Oh my god, that's my dad!".
Arisu put Yakuza 0 back in her reusable bag and said, "Yep…you want to find out more Kimura-chan? Then come with me…to my room where you can play it and I'll gladly explain it for you…", and she smiles innocently, hiding her sense of mischief behind the scenes.
Kimura feels something's suspicious about Arisu and tells her, "Uh…my mom's about to leave the store and she wants me to be back with her…".
Arisu puts her hand on her shoulders and tells her, "Don't worry about it, one of my friends is telling your mom about this…she'll be okay with it…", and she quietly laughs.
Then, Arisu reaches her hands out to Kimura's hand and tells her, "I got you covered…I have a plan with the both of us, Kimura-chan.".
Kimura anxiously answered, "Okay…if you say so.", and she held Arisu's hands and walked off from the video game section with her immediately. Kimura still felt a slight fear, but was feeling okay so far still.
A few minutes later, Haruka went to the video game section with Haruto and they couldn't find Kimura anywhere in the store. One of the cashiers noticed Haruka looking quite stressed out and she decided to approach her, asking in English, "Hey ma'am, do you need assistance on buying something here?".
Haruka anxiously replied in Japanese, "I'm looking for my daughter. She's supposed to be in the video game section and I don't see her anywhere.".
The cashier told her in English, "Ma'am, give me one moment, I'll get somebody to interpret with you.", and she hurried off to look for her supervisor who understands Japanese.
Kimura was in the toys section where the dolls are, commenting, "Those dresses are really nice for some dolls…".
Arisu, being on the phone, gave her the thumbs up, asking her, "Hey Kimura, what's your shoe size? Somebody on the phone needs to know about it.".
Kimura replied, "I don't know. I can give you my shoe if that's what you wanted, Arisu-san.". Arisu nodded, reaching out her arms, causing Kimura to give her one shoe.
Arisu read it, told the person on the phone about her shoe size, gave it back to Kimura, and said to Kimura, "Thank you for your cooperation, Kimura-chan.", and she continues to talk to someone on the phone, telling them, "Shoot! This ain't good…if they show up, we're all gonna get arrested! We gotta finish this shopping crap before the police get here. Anyways, hurry up!".
The person on the phone emphasizes that they're hurrying alright. Arisu then said, "...Alright then. Meet me in the women's restroom at the front.", and she turns off the phone.
Kimura tells her off, "But I've just used the restroom!". Arisu was worried that she's going to get caught by the police with her strange ideas making up in her mind as she goes along. Arisu is also worried that Haruka might find out about her true scheme. Arisu thinks of happy thoughts.
It manages to calm Arisu down and tells her, "...Yeah, this time, I need to go to the restroom again. Sorry to stress you out Kimura-chan, I'm not trying to harm you or anything. Forgive me.", and she bowed to Kimura for a few moments before lifting herself back up, reaching her hand, causing Kimura to hold on to her hand, and they went to the women's restroom together.
The supervisor heard Haruka's concern and told her in Japanese, "Don't worry ma'am, we'll alert our staff about the missing child. What's her name? First name?".
Haruka answered, "Kimura. First name. Sawamura. Last name.".
The supervisor then asks, "How old is Kimura?".
Haruka replied, "She's 4 years old.".
The supervisor kept asking, "What does she look like? What does she wear?".
Haruka anxiously replied, "She has black hair, black eyes, wears a white hoodie, red skirt, and black shoes. Can you please help me find my daughter!?", and Haruka got more anxious. Haruto kept his eyes open and tried to look for Kimura within his distance without going too far from Haruka.
The supervisor said, "Yep. That's all the info I need ma'am. I'll announce 'Code Adam' from the phone.", and the supervisor went to the phone to page in English first, "Attention associates, we have a 'Code Adam'. Little girl, her name is Kimura Sawamura. 4 years old. Black hair, black eyes, white hoodie, red skirt, and black shoes.". Then, he describes the same thing in Japanese for the folks who are shopping there.
Arisu had overheard the public speaker regarding 'Code Adam' and thought, "Crap, they're onto me! I've got to make sure that Kimura isn't going back to her mom or dad! I need her for my operations according to god!". They were standing inside the handicapped stall and no one's doing any business there.
Kimura also overheard it, but wasn't sure if they're calling her name. She questioned Arisu, "D-Did they call my name Arisu-san?".
Arisu immediately replied, "N-No. They were calling one of their associates to…the management room. Yes. There's another person named Kimura and Sawashiro. Please, don't worry about it. Besides, the reason why I put you in the restroom is because you're getting new clothes today…considered it as a gift.", and she smiles.
Then, she heard one of the female supervisor's coming into the women's restroom thanks to one of the supervisor's walkie-talkies commenting in English, "Copy that. Electronic section is clear.". Then, it translates into Japanese, causing Arisu and Kimura to worry for a bit.
Arisu whispered in Japanese, "Keep yourself quiet. Don't say anything about it. I don't want you getting hurt from somebody else.".
The female supervisor then exclaimed, "Anybody in there?".
Arisu yells in English, "Yes ma'am! I'm using the restroom here!", and she covers Kimura's ears just to be safe. Kimura complied to stay quiet. It's revealed in the restroom that they're the only ones in there.
The female supervisor then said, "We're under 'Code Adam', Little girl, her name is Kimura Sawamura. 4 years old. Black hair, black eyes, white hoodie, red skirt, and black shoes. If anyone has seen her, please report to any associates, thank you for your cooperation!", and she left the restroom. Arisu was relieved that the female supervisor didn't say anything in Japanese.
Kimura asks, "So…what are they saying Arisu-san?", and Arisu let go of her hands covering Kimura's ears.
Arisu replied, "She's saying that someone has lost something and we gotta keep an eye out for it. A customer is looking for their missing glass.", and she nodded nervously. Kimura looked at her suspiciously and Arisu said, "I'll go make a call now…", and she is calling somebody.
At a self checkout, a woman's phone rang. She picked up and said, "Anego, I got the shirt and pants that you've requested. I'm at the self-checkout, paying up with cash.".
Arisu replied, "Good work Kailani-chan! Remember to meet me in the women's restroom at the front. We're in the handicapped stall. Alright, I'll let you finish paying.", and Arisu hung up.
While Kailani was now paying cash, another woman got the call and said in a southern-style accent, "Anego, I'm in line right now, fixin' to scan these shoes that you've requested. Sorry for the delay.".
Arisu answered, "It's alright Nancy-chan, just remember to pay in cash. We don't want to be tracked down by the cops. After that, you must meet me in the women's restroom at the front. We're in the handicapped stall. Go ahead and do your business. Remember to act natural.", and Arisu hung up once again.
When Kailani Watanabe and Nancy Chikhladze were done, they immediately hurried to the restroom with their merches in their reusable bag that was purchased as well.
A white, brunette teen girl had seen the two women going into the restroom, thinking that they're shoplifting. She told her friends that the women were possibly grooming a little girl with those items, they should try to stop them so that they can't get away from kidnapping. The 3 girls agreed with her and they went to the restroom together to stop those alleged kidnappers.
Arisu was done changing Kimura's clothes and she commented, "Well look at that! You are really cute wearing that, Kimura-chan.".
Kimura looked at herself and said, "Yeah…this is new alright. I like this style Arisu-san", and she looked at what she's wearing. Kimura's now wearing a orange-and-black striped T-shirt, khaki shorts, and a white tennis shoes. Kimura then asks, "Alright, may I change my clothes back?".
Arisu quickly replied, "Uh, no. Keep your clothes on. I'm betting that your mom would like to see you in this outfit. Besides, I'm sure that your mom will appreciate it once we get out of the restroom now.", and happily smiled for a moment.
Kailani and Nancy were standing outside of the stalls, guarding the restroom from "intruders". Arisu and Kimura got out of the handicap stall and Arisu said, "Alright girls, let's just try to get out of the restroom and out of the store…".
Then, the white teenage girl with brunette hair had brought her 3 friends into the restroom with one of them blocking the doors. Arisu and her allies don't know why one of them would do that.
The white girl then threatened them, "You kidnappers! We see you are attempting to groom a child! I know for a fact that you all are trying to take her away. We're going to stop all of you pedophiles!", and the white teenage girl does her fighting stance with an angry look.
Another who's blond tells her, "You go Jasmine! Let's stop these evil pedophiles together!", and does her fighting stance.
A black girl tells them, "Let's do this! Let's go kick their asses Chloe and Jasmine!", and turn towards an Asian-American girl telling her, "Block the door Jane! You'll be the one guarding it!".
Jane stands next to the door and tells her, "Got it Sierra! Alright, don't let them leave with that girl still being taken away!", and Jane guards the door like she meant it.
Arisu and her allies then do their fighting stance. Kailani said, "If you think that you're going to get that girl, then bring it on! We'll show you the real pain!".
Nancy then added, "Yeah! You girls ain't getting that girl soon! I reckon that y'all will be injured by the time we teach' y'all sum lesson now!".
Arisu got really pissed off and exclaimed, "Alright then, you wanna kick my ass for this?! Well then, come at me fools!".
Both groups then ran towards each other screaming with their fists flying around each other, landing some hits in the process.
Haruka and Haruto were with the supervisor in front of the store. Both of the former were trying to keep themselves calm and wait until they got information regarding Kimura.
An associate was talking to one of the customers who had a little girl. She asks, "Hey guys, how are you doing?".
A male adult customer said, "I'm fine, thank you. How about you?".
An associate then asks, "I'm fine as well, but I'm going to stop you two real quick…", and both of the customers complied.
The associate then kneels towards the little girl and asks, "Are you having fun shopping with your daddy?".
A little girl answered, "Yeah…".
The associate then questioned, "Yeah? Is this your daddy?".
A little girl replied, "Yeah…".
The associate then said, "Okay, good.", and she stood up while finishing off with, "Well, I hope you guys have a good rest of your day. Thanks for cooperating sir.".
The father answered, "No problem. Thank you ma'am.", and both customers have left the store.
The supervisor was doing the same things, only he's speaking in Japanese to a Japanese-speaking customer about the situation with the associate being taught how to do "Code Adam" properly. The associate can also speak Japanese if necessary.
While the supervisor was speaking to the customer, he heard the walkie-talkie saying, "Hey Stacy, the girl's wear section is clear. Yes, I'll move on to the boy's wear section.", causing a conversation to be interrupted in the process.
The supervisor then bowed to the customer in a form of an apology for dealing with an inconvenient situation. The customer with a child understood what's going on and they left the store peacefully.
The supervisor then tells Haruka in Japanese, "Alright, I've secured the premises first so that anyone who has seen the child will tell our associates all about it. I've got to make a phone call to the police too, in case an abduction is happening.".
Haruka tells him, "Thank you for helping me here. I'm sorry to stress you out sir.", and she bowed for a few seconds. The supervisor nodded and he immediately went to one of the cashiers who had the work phone ready to dial to the police.
Haruto then asks, "Mommy…when is Kimura going to be found?".
Haruka answered, "Soon, I hope that the situation doesn't worsen itself, Haruto-san.", and she tries her best to hide her worries.
Then, an Avid Fan came up to her and greeted her in Japanese, "Hey! You're Haruka-chan, aren't you!?".
Haruka responded, "Hm?".
An Avid Fan tells her, "It is you! I knew it! I'm a big fan of yours! I've always seen you since Ryu Ga Gotoku was released on the PlayStation 2! I can't believe I'm seeing you out and about like this in Wal-Mart!".
2 more bystanders approached Haruka and the male passerby commented, "Haruka-chan?! From the Ryu Ga Gotoku series?!".
The middle-aged female passerby stated, "No way! Ya gotta be kidding me!". All of the bystanders and an Avid Fan were speaking Japanese at this point.
Then, the Americans started to notice it with one of the American Male Teen commenting, "Oh wow! Haruka from the Yakuza series is here!". All of a sudden, the store kinda ended up getting crowded surrounding her. Haruka replied, "Hello everyone…".
Haruto questioned, "What's going on here? Why are people gathering around you?".
Haruka replied, "Son, let's just say that I was adapted into the video game and we've come to the real world a couple of years ago…".
The associate added, "Yeah…I can see that happening here…".
The supervisor saw what was going on and he's not happy at this point. The supervisor then attempts to clear the crowd around Haruka and Haruto. However, the crowd was attempting to ask for an autograph and a selfie with Haruka, but the supervisor wasn't having any of it.
Arisu had managed to punch Sierra in the stomach and then punched her face one last time, causing her to fall down to the ground, revealing that she's the last one standing while the other 3 girls were knocked unconscious. Sierra is now unconscious. Arisu, Kailani, and Nancy were out of breath from the fighting that they've done with Arisu having blood in her mouth.
Kimura was shaking in fear. They noticed her and Nancy said to Kimura in English, "We…are so sorry for…making this mess missy Kimura.", and Nancy continued panting. Kimura doesn't understand Nancy at all.
Kailani scolded Nancy, "Did you forget Nancy-chan!? Kimura can only understand Japanese!", and Kailani tells Kimura in Japanese while bowing, "What my friend meant is an apology for making this a really big mess. Honestly, we're not expecting a fact and it happened. Don't worry, we're not planning to harm you. We just need you to continue cooperating and…".
Arisu, still out of breath, tells Kailani, "That's enough Kailani. I'll explain to her about what's going on.", and Kailani stayed silent afterwards. Arisu then asked the two in Japanese, "Can one of you check to see if any of the exits is cleared out? This is to make sure that we can all leave safely with Kimura-chan?".
Kailani replied while still out of breath, "On it, Anego. Come on Nancy-chan, let's get going.".
Nancy answered back tiredly, "Yes missy Kailani, let's go…", and they both left the restroom.
Kimura looked frightened, and she managed to ask the question, "W-Why are girls after me, A-Arisu-san?", and she started to become suspicious from this whole ordeal.
Arisu had to defend her from those 4 teens and didn't know why they wanted her and felt guilty that the fight happened…
Arisu couldn't come up with another lie as Kimura started to become more agitated in fear. Arisu decided to confess to her about the plans, does the kowtow towards her, and confessed, "Kimura-chan, I-I haven't been entirely honest with you. I…I…I'm sorry for the attempted kidnapping. I'm in the yakuza, specifically the Underground Tojo Clan. Your dad used to work in the Tojo Clan before resigning himself as the 4th Chairman of the Tojo Clan, Kimura-chan. You got to understand, I'm doing this because I believed that you'd be one of the great Chairman of the Tojo Clan and I wanted them to know that I have good ideas. This…this didn't go as planned…and we're on a mission from God…".
Arisu was whimpering and wheezing before continuing off with, "Look, I'll admit this to you: it's my fault. I've planned it out of impulse. I can't really force you to join the Tojo Clan because you're a young kid who has a brighter future.", and she quietly sobs for a few moments before continuing, "I don't know if you'll come with us for this mess. The truth is, we're hoping for a quiet attempted abduction, but the 'Code Adam' alarm went off and ended up in a fight with 4 girls. I really don't know why the 4 girls want from you, but I'll tell you this: Thank you so much for your cooperation, Kimura-chan and I'm sorry that it happened! I don't expect you to forgive me, but you can keep the stuff that I bought for you in addition, I'll pay up in American Dollars!".
Arisu got up, took out her wallet, and gave her $300. Kimura gasps at that prospect. Kimura was shocked that she got so much money, but was very grateful that Arisu had at least shown remorse to her. Kimura then tells Arisu, "You're welcome Arisu-san. Pretty please don't get into any more trouble?".
Arisu laughed a little and replied, "No promises Kimura-chan, but I'll leave you alone today. You can go back to your mom and…we'll see you next time soon…", and Arisu then washes her hands and her face to get rid of blood and tears. Kimura became less frightened and understood that it had to do with the businesses of being a yakuza.
Kailani and Nancy come back into the restroom and Kailani tells Arisu, "No good Anego. The front doors have a lot of associates standing there.".
Nancy then finished off, "And one of those doors has her mom standing there with fans huddlin' in line. If we try to take Kimura out to the exit, they all are gonna git us. We should probably leave her behind Anego. This is the best option available.".
Arisu agreed and said to them, "I'll allow ourselves to fail the mission this time. I've already confessed my motives to Kimura-chan here because we had no idea why these 4 girls would want her for something. By the way, we're on a mission from God.".
The three (except Kimura) simultaneously said, "Amen!", and they hurriedly left the restroom.
The shoppers had noticed Arisu, Kailani, and Nancy were running really fast out to the exit door. Their black car had arrived, parked at the fire lane, and they got in fast. The black car then immediately sped out of the entrance to Wal-Mart.
One of the associates commented in English, "What was that all about?".
The supervisor replied in English, "I don't know Diane, but I do wonder if it had something to do with 'Code Adam' like that.".
Diane replied, "Well, whatever it is Kenji, let's hope that the police arrive soon and explain to them something suspicious about the black car leaving from the firelane so fast…", and Diane continued to greet the customers and check the customer's items before leaving the store in an orderly fashion.
Kimura was in the restroom, still looking quite creeped out from all of it, she bravely decided to run out from the restroom and she managed to open the door and leave immediately.
She noticed that there's a line and noticed that her mom's signing something. Kimura tried to get on line, Kenji spoke in English, "Ma'am, I'm sorry, he's the last fan to be on this. We can't have customers be in the way of an exit. You'll have to ask for another time.".
Kimura replied in Japanese, "But sir, I wanted to get an autograph from my mom. I'm having a rough day here…my mom is on the line. Please sir, I want to wait in line for her here.". A woman was walking into the bathroom.
Kenji was about to comment when suddenly, he heard a woman screaming in the restroom. Kenji tells her, "...I gotta deal with this if you excuse me.", and he immediately went to the women's restroom in the front and Kimura got in line.
Haruka asks a fan in Japanese, "Alright sir, what's your name?", with her paper and markers ready to sign a fan's name in Japanese in addition to giving her signature.
Diane had translated for him. He nodded and replied to Haruka in English, "My name is Albert Sandy.", and he was busy eating yogurt. Diane translated back to Haruka and she was then signing it for what could possibly be her second-to-last fans on the line.
Haruka gave Albert Sandy a signed paper that has his name on it. Albert then said, "Thank you!", and he left the store. Kimura moves close to Haruka. Haruto recognized her, but Kimura gave a "Shh" gesture towards him, keeping him silent for some laughs.
Then, Kimura took out a game and told Haruka, "Hey…can you please sign this on the game?".
Haruka didn't recognize the different clothes that Kimura's wearing, thinking that it's a different little girl. Haruka took the game, looked stunned, and commented, "Whoa! Didn't expect to see Ojisan on the cover of a video game…". Haruka then asks, "Okay, what's your name, little girl?".
Kimura answered, "Sawamura Kimura.".
Dianne was stunned and Haruka looked quite shocked to see Kimura wearing very different clothes than when she entered. Haruka exclaimed, "Kimura-chan! You're all right!", and immediately gave her a hug.
Kenji got an associate to stand in front of the women's restroom and immediately went to the front. Dianne tells him in English, "Good news! Kimura's been found!".
Kenji looked at her and commented in English, "Ah, So that's Kimura! Oh dear…this isn't good. She's definitely wearing a very different outfit compared to what Haruka has described to me earlier. I need to bring the police AND an ambulance here!".
Kenji went to the nearest cashier's phone to page in English, "Cancel 'Code Adam'! Cancel 'Code Adam'!", and repeat the same thing in Japanese. Kenji then dialed an emergency number out of concerns that the Tojo Clan might be planning to harm more customers.
Some time has passed and Haruka tells Kimura by sternly finishing off, "...you and I are going to have a very long talk with your dad when we get back to the hotel, okay Kimura-chan?".
Kimura felt somewhat afraid, but responded, "Okay mommy, I'll talk to daddy about this as well…", and she felt quite embarrassed about what's going on.
Kenji came back to Haruka and told her in Japanese, "Hey, if it's okay with you ma'am, can you stay in this store for about a half-more hours? The police and ambulance are coming because I believed that Kimura-chan was in the restroom and witnessed a crime going on that resulted in the 4 girls being unconscious in the bathroom.".
Haruka replied back in Japanese, "Sure, but I need to scan all of the items that I have here…".
Kenji then tells Haruka, "Come with me ma'am, I'll get you scanning your items very quickly so that you have time to explain to the police about everything.", and Kenji went to the closed checkstand lane, followed by Haruka, Haruto, and Kimura.
While Kenji is busy scanning items as quickly as he can for Haruka, the 4 officers were already at the front door, asking Dianne about the situation.
Dianne refers to them where Kenji and Haruka are at and so, the 2 officers went over there while the other 2 officers went into the women's restroom, followed by the medical team.
The 2 officers had arrived at the checkstand lane where Kenji was with Haurka's paying for her items with cash. One of the officers asks, "Are you the supervisor that called about not only a possible abduction, but the crime scene relating to the restroom as well?".
Kenji replied, "Yes officer. I've cancelled 'Code Adams' because my customers here got her daughter back. The daughter had originally come out of the restroom and we believe she's the last one witnessing a crime happening in the restroom.", and Kenji tries to count the change.
Haruka asks Kenji in Japanese, "Hey, what's going on? Why are the officers here?".
Another officer replied in Japanese, "Ma'am, we're here because the supervisor had called about a crime taking place while a girl was allegedly abducted…", and the officer sees a girl and asks Haruka, "Is that the girl that went missing earlier in the day?".
Haruka replied, "Yes sir, she's my daughter and she went missing earlier today, but now I have her, safe and sound officer.".
The officer replied in Japanese, "Well, I'm glad that she's okay, but we need to talk to her regarding a crime that she might've witnessed in the women's restroom at the front.", Haruka gasps at that prospect. The medical units have entered the restroom. The officers then introduced themselves in Japanese, "By the way, I'm officer Akimitsu and this is my partner officer Noa. He doesn't speak Japanese.".
Officer Noa questioned Kenji, "So, you're claiming that the formerly-missing little girl was in the restroom as the last one to leave before the woman screamed, thus being the last witness in the last restroom and possibly where the alleged abductor was at?".
Kenji gave her back all the change and explained, "Yeah, before her mom can recognize her, I saw Kimura-chan coming out of the restroom, wearing different clothes than what Haruka described earlier. It gave me an impression that a possible abduction was taking place".
Haruka confirms it and added, "Her original clothes that I've described are in the reusable bag that some attempted abductor has given to my daughter as a form of compensation. Kimura-chan also received $300 from an abductor.".
Kenji sees the medical units have exited out the restroom, telling Haruka that, "Yeah…there's the medical unit pulling one of the victims out of the restroom right now.", and when they see it up close, they're shocked at how that white, brunette girl ended up in the stretcher.
The officers who talked in Japanese said, "Yeah, that's what we're talking about. This is a kind of alleged abduction that your daughter has gotten into earlier.", and long story short, police were getting witness statements before they're allowed to leave Wal-Mart, including Haruka.
Some people are worried that the Tojo Clan are coming after the customers, but the police think that Kimura is targeted for a specific reason in the form of intimidation. The police ask her to give up her new clothes, shoes, game, and $300 for evidence collection.
Kimura at first refused, but after some serious convincing from Haruka, Kimura complied to give everything to the police after she changed back to her old clothes in the fitting room as a part of an evidence against the abductors.
It was clear that the 4 girls were beaten up when Arisu and her minions almost got away with the plan.
Rumors were spreading onto social media very quickly that's ranging from one of the Tojo Clan member wasn't happy with the service they got from Wal-Mart to Wal-Mart itself being targeted by Majima to start a counter revolution against the government of Honolulu comparing to the Joker movie from 2019 to the government sending the underground Tojo Clan to intimidate everyone else shopping at Wal-Mart in Hawaii for voting against one of their political bases.
When they got back to the hotel in the early afternoon, Haruka explained to Kiryu what happened. Kiryu was upset that the underground Tojo Clan is not only back in the real world, but one of the families from the Tojo Clan has attempted an abduction targeting Kimura.
To put it in a nutshell, Kimura and Haruto got a very long lecture from Haruka and Kiryu regarding their involvement with the Tojo Clan and how it personally affected them, both positive and negative. It should be noted that they just didn't want their personal problems to be repeated by those people once again.
Kiryu said that if Kimura got her stuff back from the police, they wanted to not only allow her and Haruto to play Yakuza 0 (and the series to an extent) in their age as long as they're there to give parental guidance to her regarding the subject matter of being in the yakuza, but to commentate her and Haruto on how it happened, give them proper insights on how they should interpret in their life, and not be fighting with people for no good reasons in general.
They'll also get a PS4 while they're at it when Kimura has to give back $300 from the police. Kimura was understandably convinced with Kiryu's plan after Haruto guarantees her that it's going to happen since it sounds like a very good promise to them.
Usually, Kiryu and Haruka wouldn't allow their kids to play "Rated M, CERO D/Z, PEGI 18" games, but the only exception that they've allowed to play those games is the Yakuza / Like a Dragon / Ryu Ga Gotoku series due to having their origins from their original universe.
Kimura completely understands where they're coming from since she did see her dad being on the cover of Yakuza 0 for the very first time shown by Arisu, but does acknowledge herself that it's gonna be quite annoying due to getting the lecture for the game being rated "Mature".
After all that was done, Haruka took care of Kiryu, Haruto, and Kimura all day in the hotel. Everyone had felt quite rough about it. At night, Haruka went to sleep with Kiryu when the two had started sleeping that night.
The Tojo Clan, now underground, has struck Kiryu and his family once again! Will Kiryu and Haruka ever have a peaceful vacation with the family? How will it impact Kimura regarding what she's witnessed? Can Kiryu come up with a plan to protect his family once again! Find out next time on Like a Dragon/Yakuza : A Hawaiian Trip!

A/N: The idea of a child facing an attempted abduction inside a Wal-Mart store is a last minute addition to the entire story that I'm supposed to get it done by Christmas.
Also, apologies if part of the story had coincidentally and unintentionally somehow become a spoiler to Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth since this fanfiction idea I had come up with and wrote about the story was partially done BEFORE the announcement of that game in the earlier part of 2023.
I hope you guys understand that it's unintentional and it's kinda shocking that the idea of mine coincided with the developers of LaD: Infinite Wealth taking the idea to place Kasuga Ichiban and friends on a mission to Hawaii with Kiryu coming along as well.
Like many around the world, I'm deeply saddened by the devastating fires that swept through Maui and the Hawaiian Islands. Hawaii was a place of inspiration for the creation of not only this fanfiction, but the creation of the game Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
I'll extend my best wishes, thoughts, and prayers to those who have been affected by the disaster and hope for a speedy and strong recovery to the people of Hawaii.
