Chapter Three

December 9, 2018 – To say that Jay wasn't happy over the fact that he woke up alone in bed, especially when he was promised a day in bed with his gorgeous wife, would be an understatement. He was so lost and confused when he woke up, that he even ended up yelling for her; only to eventually roll out of bed and fall down flat on his face. And only then did he learn where she was thanks to the post-it note that was stuck to his forehead. And just what was written on the note? Well, it was the following: 'Babe. Sorry I wasn't there when you woke up, but I woke up early and couldn't sleep. I'm either in the living room passed out on the couch or out in the pool. Come find me. Love you. XO' So, Jay decided to do just that. He decided to wake up and go find his girl, only to hear her out in the pool thanks to the splash Riley made when she jumped into the pool with Alex. "Oh Riley, seriously? You know how Jay feels about that." Jay heard, as he started to make his way out of their room and into the kitchen wearing some swim trunks, sexy swim trunks.

Swim trunks that always turn Alex on when he wears them and, at times, also leads to them having sexy in the pool; something he most certainly isn't against them having if Alex wants to have sex in the pool. If she wants to have him in the pool, then she'll have him in the pool just like she wants him for the simple fact that he loves her; but not as much as he loves the sight of his wife getting out of the pool all sexy and wet. Damn, now that's a nice sight that he wanted to admire for the rest of his life. And thanks to them being married, that's precisely what Jay Halstead is going to be able to do: admire the sit of that sexy, wet body whenever she's wet. Oh, and he'll also get a nice chance to run his hands all over her body whenever he wants; something Alex wants as well due to the fact that she just loves it when she and Jay get sexy with each other. And if she wants to get sexy with him today, then that's precisely what she's going to have to let him do: run his hands all over her body. But first, maybe she can give him something else, a nice kiss.

After all, what better way to start their day? A nice kiss is the only way for them to start their day in his opinion, which is why Jay made his way outside the moment he heard her out here. And the sight that came with coming outside didn't disappoint, as his wife looks absolutely gorgeous in the sexy, tight swimsuit she was wearing for him today. "Damn, I am such a lucky man." Turning her head when she heard Jay say that, Alex blushed as she watched him make his way over to her. "Hey handsome." Jay agreed with his wife as she called him handsome, more than ready to make his way over to her so that he can kiss her. "Hello beautiful." He said, as he walked over to the pool chairs where Alex was standing this morning; only to set his towel down with hers. "So, you decided that you weren't going to stay in bed with me after all?" Alex sighed. "You already read the note, so why question me about it?" Shaking his head, Jay sighed as he last thing he wanted to do was make her feel frustrated or like he was mad as that was the last way he felt right now.

He was just happy that he found her, due to the fact that he wants to share a nice kiss with his wife, which is precisely what he went to do as he wrapped his arms around her and bent down to kiss her softly. Meanwhile, Alex moved her hands to his back and smiled as she took things nice and slow with the man of her dreams; the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you, and I'm happy that we went to bed early last night. I feel much better." Jay agreed with his wife as he rubbed her arms and just smiled as he kissed her softly. "Me too. But, I think we both know that we don't just want to stand here all day, you want me in the pool so that we can hold each other close as we wake up." Alex laughed, well aware that was the case. "And so that I can apologize for not being there in bed, where we could've made love and tried for a baby." Sighing, Jay shook his head. "How about you get back in the pool? I'll be right in." Alex agreed with her husband as she kissed him one last time, before going to get in the pool again this morning.

Diving in, she made sure to splash her husband as a way to tease him, which she most certainly did as he turned to face her. "HEY!" Coming up out of the water as she heard Jay said that, Alex smiled as she knew that he wasn't mad at her. "Oh, calm down. I already know you aren't mad at me over the fact that I just splashed you." Jay agreed with his wife, as he could never be mad at the woman he loves over her splashing him. If anything, it was just her flirting with him. "I'm taking it was you flirting with me." Alex agreed with Jay, as that's precisely what she did. She was flirting with her husband as she waited for him to get in the pool with her. "And that's exactly what I did, while waiting for you to get in the pool." Hearing the last party, Jay just knew based on her tone that she was getting a bit impatient; so, he made sure to finish setting all of his things down as soon as he could so that he could get in the water with her. And let's just say that made Alex very happy, having her loving husband in the water with her as they took a nice swim. "Perfect."

Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that. "I know, the water just feels perfect." Jay agreed with his wife as she said that, while also swimming over to her this morning. After which, he wrapped his arms around her; only to bring his gorgeous wife right against his chest, while also wrapping her legs around his waist as he leaned in and kissed her softly. "God, you are so sexy, and I can never be mad at you." Alex agreed with her man as she placed her hands on his face, well aware that he could never be mad at her; especially when she takes the time to please and tease him, just like she did right now as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her breasts against his chest once more. "This remind you of last night?" Smiling as he ran his hands up and down Alex's back, Jay bent down and pressed his lips to her shoulder as it most certainly did. "Oh, you know it did. And it's perfect because of how sexy it is." Alex agreed with her husband, well aware that he absolutely loves it when they get all hot and sexy with each other.

Yet, she also knows that he hates it when she's not in bed with him. So, she decided to lean back and stare into his eyes for a moment; prior to leaning her forehead against his as she held Jay close to her. "I'm sorry." Confused, Jay looked at Alex as he rubbed her back. "Hey, why are you apologizing to me?" Alex sighed. "For not being in bed, I know you wanted me there." Jay agreed with his wife as he moved his hand to her neck and started to take things nice and slow with the woman he loves. "Hey, you listen to me." Alex agreed with her husband as he said that. "Babe, I love you and what matters is that I found you. We're going to hold each other close and just have fun today." Alex agreed with her husband as she placed her hands on his face and leaned her forehead against his. "And that's all I can ask. I can ask you to take it easy as we just hold each other close." Jay smiled as he loves the sound of that: the sound of him and his wife holding each other close for the entire day. "Starting now, I vow to never let you go. You won't leave my arms again."

Alex laughed, as she knew that he meant that. She knew that he wasn't going to let her go, simply due to the fact that he loves holding her close to him. "I think there's another reason why you want to hold me close to you in bed all day; something related to how I am right now." Jay laughed as he placed his hand on her neck, prior to leaning in and taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves. "I mean, what man wouldn't enjoy a day in bed with his wife naked against his chest?" Alex smiled as she ran her hands down Jay's muscular chest, prior to leaning in and just taking things nice and slow with the man she loves. The man she loves and craves more than anything in the entire world, simply due to the fact that this is everything that they both want to do right now: they both want to hold each other close as they take it nice and easy with each other. Running her fingers through his hair, Alex just smiled as she kissed Jay nice and slowly. "I love you Jay, and I am so happy over the fact that we're spending time like this right now." Jay agreed.

After all, he loves getting sexy with his wife; regardless of whether it's in their bed or in their pool, just like they were spending right now. They were getting sexy in the pool, which is just a lot of fun with each other. However, they also both knew that they couldn't always just concentrate on each other; not when their little dogs also wanted attention from them, something they both realized when Jack and Riley swam over to the both of them in the pool. "C'mon boys, did you really have to bother me and Alex when we're having fun right now?" Jay said, while feeling Alex cuddle up to him and place her hand on his face; a feeling that he most certainly loved as he always enjoys the feeling of Alex in his arms. And he showed her that he loves the feeling by placing his hand on her arm and kissing her shoulder softly. "God, I love this feeling." Alex agreed with her husband, well aware that he loves the feeling of the two of them holding each other in the pool like they are right now. However, that didn't mean that they were kissing each other now.

Rather, Alex ended up wrapping her arms around Jay's neck and just cuddled up to him; while also wrapping her legs around his waist and just smirking as she knew that this made Jay very happy as he ran his hand up and down her back. "God, you are so sexy, and I am so glad that you decided to cuddle up to me like this." Jay agreed with his wife as he ran his hand up and down her back, giving her the feeling, she wants: the feeling of him holding her in his arms and showing her that he loves her, which is exactly how she feels right now; she feels like he loves her more than anything in the entire world, which is the truth. Jay loves his wife and is so happy that they're married. "So, listen. Do you want to talk about what we spoke about last night?" Leaning back, Alex looked at Jay. "Yeah, we need to talk about that. I know we need to do some family planning." Jay agreed with his wife, smiling at the woman he loves. "I promise, we're going to figure it out. Plus, it's still early in our marriage. Let's just wait a year and see what happens."

Alex agreed with Jay, glad that they were on the same page when it came to them starting a family. So, she leaned in and kissed the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you so much, and I am so glad that this is our life; we have such a great life with each other, and I am so glad that we're going to be married for the rest of our lives." Jay laughed as he heard Alex say that. "Yeah, only because I got my shit in order." Alex smiled as Jay said that. "I think I can thank my sister for that. Didn't Abby walk into your office and say: either propose and marry her or let her go?" Jay laughed, as that most certainly is the truth. Hell, he still remembers that day like it was yesterday….

Halstead Headquarters, Chicago – August 2017
She just walked by all of his employees and his secretary to make her way right into his office, as that was what she was determined to do; she was determined to confront her sister's boyfriend about just how long he's been dragging his feet. How long it's been since they got together, only for him to not propose to her yet; and she was tired of it because of how much it was hurting her sister…the not knowing whether she was going to be with him for the rest of his life. So, it was time to go all overprotective sister on Jay and make sure that he knew that it was time to either propose or leave her. And that was the message she was ready to give him as she walked into his office, completely ignoring the fact that he had someone else in his office. "So, we have the profits in…" Seeing Abigail Jacobs walk into his office, Jay got worried. "Abby!" He then got up. "Is it Alex, is she okay?" Abby just looked at Jay as he said that. After which, she turned her head and looked at the other gentlemen in here. "Can I have a moment with Jay here?" Jay nodded.

After all, he could clearly see that Abby needed to speak to him. "Will, how about you continue the meeting with Jared in the conference room? Can you take notes over the outlook for fiscal year 2019 and how we can get there?" Will agreed with his brother, as he most certainly can do that. "Of course." Getting up, Will smiled at Abby. "Hi Abby, how are you?" Abby smiled. "Good. Surprised to see you here, rather than at the hospital." Will agreed as he made his way over to her, prior to hugging her. "I come to work sometimes." Abby agreed. "Yes, yes you do. Listen, do you mind if I have your brother to myself for a moment?" Will agreed. "Of course." Will said, as he walked out of Jay's office along with the rest of the finance team; something that the CEO really needed. "God, you have no idea how much of a lifesaver you are. I was starting to…" Interrupting Jay, Abby spoke up. "Dragging your feet when it comes to my sister? Oh, you've been dragging your feet long enough Jay!" Jay sighed as he got up from his desk.

After which, he put his hands on his hips. "Abby, what do you expect me to do? Alex said she's not ready to get married yet." Abby was shocked when she heard Jay say that. "Are you kidding me? She said that. God, men are such idiots sometimes." Jay looked at Abby as she said that. "What does that mean?" Abby just looked at the CEO. "You idiot, that means that she IS ready to get married. She's been dropping hints for ages. She's been looking at wedding dresses." Jay was surprised when he heard Abby say that. "She's been looking at wedding dresses?" Abby agreed with Jay as he asked her that. "Yes, and that means that she's thinking that she's found the one. Jay, I hate to tell you this but…it's time for you to decide. Do you see yourself having a future with Alex?" Jay agreed with Abby, as he most certainly does have a future with Alex. "Abby, of course I want a future with her." Abby agreed with Jay. "Then Jay, it's time for you to put up or shut up when it comes to Alex. She wants to marry you Jay, but you need to take the first step. You need to propose."

Jay agreed with Abby, before taking a breath and sighing. "At least I already got a ring." Abby was shocked. "You what?" Jay agreed. "Yes, I got a ring and I've been waiting for the right time to propose. I just haven't found it yet. So please, just let me figure out the right time when I want to propose. Things are just so busy, and I want to do it right. I want to make sure that I do it the right day." Abby agreed with Jay as he said that. "Ok. Well, I hope that I can keep the secret. Can I see the ring?" Jay laughed. "It's at home, in my safe. Why would I keep it here when it can be stolen?" Abby agreed with Jay as he said that. "Yeah, that makes sense. Now, I am going to let you go so that you can finish work." Jay agreed with Abby before getting up and walking over to her, prior to hugging his future sister-in-law. "Welcome to the family, Jay." Jay agreed with Abby, smiling at her. "Thanks. Remember to keep the secret." Abby agreed with Jay before turning around and walking away so that she could go back to her place, while he got back to work.

She never heard that story, the story about how her sister made sure that Jay proposed to her. And while she was happy that Abby spoke to him, she's glad that Jay was already interested in proposing to her even before her sister said anything. "I'm glad that you wanted to propose before my sister spoke to you." Jay agreed with his wife as she said that, as he was always going to propose to her; especially since he loves her more than anything. "Alex, I love you. Why wouldn't I have proposed to you?" Jay said, as he leaned in and proceeded to kiss her neck softly. And damn, did Alex love the feeling of Jay's smooth lips on her neck. It's everything she's ever wanted because of how sexy it is. It's so damn sexy, and she's very happy over the fact that she has Jay holding her close right now. "God, I am so glad that this is what we're doing right now. You are so damn sexy when you do that." Jay agreed with his wife as he ran his hands up her back once more and just smiled as they both held each other close here in their pool.

After which, Alex leaned back and smiled as she placed her hands on his toned chest. After which, she leaned in and took things nice and slow with the man she loves more than anything in the entire world; the man of her dreams: Jay Halstead. The man she wants to make love to here in the pool. So, she got close to him and smiled as she placed her hand on the side of her face; only to whisper in her husband's ear. "I can't wait to make you a father." Jay smiled as he heard Alex say that, while rubbing her back. At the same time, he turned his head and smiled as he leaned in and kissed the woman he loves. "Is that you telling me that you want me in the pool?" Running her finger down his cheekbone, Alex smirked as that sounds perfect. She wants to have the man she loves now. "Yes, please." Jay smirked as Alex said that, prior to swimming over to the wall of the pool and pushing her against it. After which, he went to grab his swim trunks and smirked as he went to take them off. "No baby, that's my job." Jay agreed, so he moved his hands to her hips.

After which, he went ahead and took off her bikini bottom since that was all he needed to take off for them to be able to make sweet love to each other in their pool. Meanwhile, Alex ran her hands down Jay's toned chest and just smiled as she went to undo his swim trunks, which soon floated away in the pool so that they were both naked; just like they wanted to be right now. They wanted to be naked as they took things nice and slow with each other, starting with Alex wrapping her arms around Jay's neck and taking things nice and slow with the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "God, I love you so much." Jay agreed as he leaned in and kissed his wife softly, as he loves her too. "I love you too Alex." He said, kissing her once more as he started to make sweet love to her here in their pool, which just so happens to be the place where they made love to each other for the first time. "This brings back nice memories." Alex smirked, as she remembered that night too. "God, now that was a nice swim." She said, as she kissed his neck.

Meanwhile, Jay ran his hands up Alex's back and just smirked as he leaned in and started to suck on her neck as a way to tease the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. He teased her and just make her feel extremely happy, not that she wouldn't be happy right now as she's currently in his arms; being held close to him, the love of her life and her husband. God, she loves him so much and is just so happy that this is what they decided to do right now. Just the feeling of Jay's naked body against her in the pool is turning her on, while also making her moan. "OH, JAY!" Smirking as he heard his wife moan; Jay moved his lips to her neck once more as he continued to suck on it; just like Alex wanted him to this morning. She wanted him to suck on her neck as they made each other happy. And that's precisely what Jay and Alex both are this morning as they held each other in the pool: happy. Happy to be alone with each other, as they share a bunch of quality time with each other here in their pool. "God, so damn sexy!" Jay smirked.

After all, he knew full well that his wife found this sexy, which is why he was making love to her here in the pool in the first place; he wanted to make her feel sexy (which she is). She's the sexiest woman he's ever met, and he's met a lot of sexy women as the head of the company. A lot of models have worked for him, but there's nobody like Alex. There's just something about her that always turns him on, which is why he married her in the first place. He married her due to the fact that he loves her and only wants to be with her, something he was most certainly showing his wife as they took things nice and slow with each other in their pool right now. "Fuck, Jay!" Jay agreed with his wife as she moaned for him, well aware that she's in love with what he's doing for her right now. The way he's touching her, loving her, making her feel happy. It must be making her feel like she's living on cloud nine, as that's how he feels. He feels like this is heaven on earth due to the fact that he loves the way the two of them get this time to enjoy each other.

Add in the fact that they're on vacation with each other right now, and that just makes things so much better. "I am so glad that we decided to take the rest of the year off, even though it's still the start of December." Alex agreed with her husband as he said that. "I think it's what I need, especially since our loss a month ago. Things just haven't been the same, especially since you went right back to work." Jay just looked at Alex as she said that, wondering whether he did the right thing during that time. "Just curious, are you mad at me that I went right back to work a month ago after we lost the baby?" Taking a breath, Alex felt bad as she didn't want to be mad at Jay due to the fact that he was grieving too. So, rather than say that she was mad at him, she just got close to him and wrapped her arms and legs around his waist. After which, Jay placed his hands on her back and rubbed it for her; he rubbed it as they held each other close here in the pool. However, Jay couldn't help but wonder if this is what Alex wanted to do right now.

Whether this is where she wanted to be right now, or whether she wanted to be in bed where they can hold each other. So, he decided to ask his wife what she really wanted right now. "Alex, be honest with me baby. Is this really where you want to be now as we talk about this?" Sighing, Alex shook her head as she didn't want to be in the pool anymore, not when she feels so sad. So, she instead turned her head and kissed Jay's neck as a way to tell him that this isn't where she wanted to be, which was a message that Jay received loud and clear the moment Alex kissed his neck. "Ok. Then let's go back to bed. I'll get you comfortable there, and then go make us breakfast. How does that sound?" Alex took a breath as Jay said that. "One step at a time, okay? One step at a time." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before turning around and going to reach for their swimwear. Placing his hand on her back afterwards, Jay proceeded to carry Alex out of the pool so that he can take her back to bed where they're going to take it easy today.

Halstead Home, Naperville – November 10, 2018
She tried to hide the tears that were currently flowing out of her eyes right now after getting the news they just got at their OB/GYN appointment. The news that their baby didn't survive, that she lost the baby. The baby she and her loving husband have always wanted ever since they got together. God, the conversations they've had since they became an item over what their life would be like if they had a baby, all of the names they thought about if the past couple weeks. It was just everything they've ever wanted, and now all of their dreams have been stolen away from them due to the fact that they lost the baby. And to say that Jay was heartbroken, well that was an understatement. Yes, he was heartbroken over the fact that he and his wife lost their first child just two months after they got married; but he was even more heartbroken over the sight in front of him. The sight of his wife standing by the window of their home, looking out into their yard with tears in her eyes. Tears that no amount of hugs and kisses can fix. Yet, he decided to try his best.

To try his best to fix the mess that just happened today…by walking up behind her and wrapping his arms around her waist, which led to Alex placing her hand on his arm and stroking it with her thumb. At the same time, Jay kissed the side of her head as they both held each other close here in their room. "How are you?" Jay said, as he whispered into Alex's ear. "How do you think? Depressed over the fact that I failed you." Walking away from her husband, Alex went to go get in bed as she couldn't stand to be close to him at the moment; however, that was the last thing Jay wanted…especially after hearing his wife claim that she failed him. After all, nothing could be further from the truth. She didn't fail him, and she had to know that. So, he decided to make his way over to her so that they could talk about that before that went any further. And based on how sad his wife looked as she climbed into bed; Jay knew that was exactly what she was thinking about right now as she climbed into bed. "You didn't fail me Alex, you have to know that."

Taking a breath, Alex looked up at her husband due to the fact that she wants to believe that; but how can she when she knows that he wants to be a dad more than anything in the entire world. "Jay, you want to be a dad more than anything in the entire world, and I failed to give you a baby. How is that not failure?" Jay shook his head as he made his way over to her, prior to setting down in bed next to her. "You didn't fail me because this is not your fault. Nor is it the last time we're going to try for a baby. Alex, there's going to be other chances for us to have a baby, it just isn't our time yet; you need to believe that since that's what I believe babe. I believe that it just wasn't our time, and that our time will come in the future. Someday, we'll have a baby of our own; that's something that Matt and Gabby had to deal with too and look where they are now. They have Matteo after a couple years of infertility, a loss of a child, and then a miscarriage. Yet, they have the child of their dreams. So, I have to believe that we'll have the same in the future."

Placing her hand on top of Jay's hand, Alex intertwined their fingers and smiled due to the fact that she had the same feeling now. She felt like that was going to happen, and she was happy about that. "I just hope that you're right, because I'm not sure if I can go through this again." Jay agreed with his wife as she said that, well aware that was the case as he got close to her and placed his hand on the side of her face; only to move his hand to her neck prior to leaning in and kissing her softly. And damn, does Jay love sharing this sweet kiss with the woman he loves. It's just the best feeling in the entire world and it makes him so happy to have this gorgeous woman in his life. "I love you Alex, now and forever." Alex agreed with her husband, well aware that he loves her. "I love you too Jay, forever." Jay smirked as he heard Alex say that, before getting up and moving to join his beautiful wife in bed, just like she wanted him to do right now; she wants to have Jay in bed with her, so that she can cuddle up to her man and just hold him close to her.

And that's precisely what she did the moment he was in bed with her, with his arm around her and the covers on top of her; meanwhile, she had her arms around his waist and was just cuddling up to him in the most comfortable way possible. This way. This is the only way that she likes to cuddle up to her husband in bed, which is precisely why she's cuddling up to him like this right now…because it makes her a happy woman, Jay makes her a happy woman; especially when he turns his head and looks down at her. "I love you Alex." Looking up at Jay as she ran her hand up his muscular chest, Alex agreed as she loves her husband too. "I love you too Jay." Bending down, Jay smiled as he moved his hand to her neck and just started to take things nice and slow with her here in the comfort of their bed…which is precisely what Alex needs him to do right now since it makes her a very happy woman. Then again, he always makes her a very happy woman due to the fact that he's the love of her life; the only man she can see herself with forever.

She decided to wear some very sexy lingerie for her husband today, as she wanted to have his hands all over her body today. And let's just say that Jay really liked that idea as he came to join her in the washroom wearing his tight boxers, the same ones that he was wearing yesterday due to the fact that he changed them last night after they took a bath. In fact, Alex was even able to recognize them. "Aren't those the same boxers you wore yesterday?" Jay smiled. "To go to bed, yes. I decided that I didn't need to change them since I only wore them to bed. But, I will if it makes you happy." Alex shook her head, as the last thing she wanted him to do was change his boxers when he looks so sexy in the ones he was wearing right now. "No, it's good. You look sexy in them, anyways." Jay smiled as he heard Alex tell him that, while also walking up behind her and placing his hands on her hips. After which, he bent down and kissed her shoulder softly; something that Alex loved the feeling of. "God, I love that feeling." Jay agreed with his wife.

I mean, it was why he did it in the first place. "I know, and it's why I did it. However, I think we both know that you're going to be much happier when we're in bed today. When we're in bed, with me holding you in my arms as we take it nice and easy with each other. How does that sound?" Smiling, Alex was very happy due to the fact that sounded absolutely perfect. It's everything she wants to do with her husband, and Jay had to know that. "I love that idea, and I can't wait to hold you in my arms today." Jay agreed with Alex, well aware that was the case as he bent down and kissed the woman he loves. After which, he proceeded to suck on her neck as a way to make her a very happy woman. "I love you Alex. Today, tomorrow, and forever." Alex agreed with Jay, well aware that he's going to love her for the rest of his life. "I know that Jay, and I am honored to have you be mine. Now, how about you go make us some breakfast?" Jay agreed with Alex as he slapped her ass, before turning around and walking away to go make breakfast. "JAY!"

Smirking as he walked away, Jay just loved the way she yelled his name due to the fact that he knew it was her way of telling him that she was turned on. And that was precisely how he wanted his wife to feel: turned on. "God, that man is going to drive me crazy before the end of the day." Jay smiled as he heard that as well, before going downstairs to make him and Alex some breakfast.
