Drow Commander

"Oh, yeah," Jasper groaned. "These Drow are exactly what I expected."

"There," Xenk said, helping him up. "How do you feel?"

"Lucky I was a Girallon and don't need to get my armor mended again," Jasper said, looking around. "Everyone else okay?"

Everyone reported that they had no serious injuries, only a few bumps, scrapes, and scratches, and they all all carefully continued deeper into the Upperdark cavern. Here, the Drow were numerous and prepared. Dozens of them swarmed them as they made their way through the tiny, cramped passages of the Upperdark. The passages were a maze of tunnels that all seemed to head in the same direction, and Drow flooded from them near-constantly, rapidly wearing down everyone's energy and nerves. Finally, they reached a more open area, only for another Umber Hulk to lunge out of the darkness at them.

Jasper swore, he and Xenk streaking forward and slashing it along the sides before Adrianna and Simon sent a pair of Lightning Bolts into the Umber Hulk, which shrieked in pain. Shadow burst up beside the Umber Hulk, roaring and smashing its arms down on the Umber Hulk's back. It roared, shoving itself back up, only for Holga to slam her axe into its face, yanking it back to the ground, just in time for Kromlech to slash from one side in a downward stroke, Edgin slashing upward from the other side. The Umber Hulk's head spun away, only for more Drow to swarm them. They were met with a barrage of Flame Arrows from Jasper and a Chain Lightning from Adrianna. Half of them collapsed, either wounded or dead, but the rest charged, a barrage of spells flying out at them all. Kromlech grunted as he blocked a Fireball, stumbling backward but staying upright, and Jasper was hit with a Frostball, but before a group of warriors could reach him to smash his now brittle body, Mia swept through them with her daggers, seeing to materialize out of the darkness and all but shredding them before swapping them for her Ironwood sword and spun and danced through another group of warriors, slashing three of the four before shoving the fourth into the path of a Disintegrate, the warrior immediately bursting into ash.

Mia shot forward through the ash, slashing the sorcerer who'd cast it before ducking under a jet of flames, allowing it to ignite a warrior moving to attack her. She spun, slashing the sorcerer up across the chest just as a warrior leapt at her from behind. However, before he could reach her, Adrianna stepped into the way, spinning as she knocked the blade out to the side, then drove the back end of her staff into his chest, then ripped it out and fired a Lightning Bolt past Mia into a pair of sorcerers as they stepped out of the shadows. Just as a Drow Rider lunged out of the shadows, Jasper lunged past the two of them, using his Ironwood sword to slash off the lizard's head, then leapt over it, driving a throwing knife into the side of the Rider's neck from the side. As he landed on his feet, a warrior lunged, moving to stab him, only for him to smirk, the sword catching in a wall of near-invisible webbing just before Aranea stabbed him in the head from above, then dropped down from her webbing, returning to her human form.

"Nice," Jasper smiled, swapping swords. "Is that everyone?"

"For now," Xenk nodded. "They're considerably more heavily populated here."

"Yeah," Jasper nodded. "Their leader can't be far."

The others all nodded, and they continued into the cramped tunnels again. As the paths wound and wove through a maze of small passages and around large pillars, they were forced to scatter in order to fend off the dozens of Drow assaulting them. The Drow struck out at them over and over, only for Jasper and the others to easily fend them off and slaughter them, since the cramped tunnels also restricted the Drow's movements. Then, finally, they found the largest encampment yet, but the Drow weren't prepared for them. They had a handful of seconds of uninterrupted chances to attack, followed by about two minutes of confusion after their barrage of spells, blades, and Shadow greeted the unprepared Drow. And after the two minutes of confusion ended and the Drow began to fight back with some semblance of success, it was too late. There was only one sorcerer left standing, and she died immediately as Mia passed her. And then, a few moments later, they'd finished the last of the Drow, all looking around.

"She's just ahead," Jasper said, staring past a row of stone pillars toward an open area where he could see the Drow leader waiting.

They all turned, walking forward to meet her, Shadow walking at Jasper's side as a wolf. As they reached the open area, the Drow waved her hand, and several torches around the area blazed to life. They all watched the Drow carefully. Jasper had to admit, she was gorgeous. Her dark grey skin was flawless, marked only by a pair of tribal tattoos in bands around her biceps, then by a red spider tattoo encircling her navel. She had her pure-white hair tied into a bun with a pair of braids hanging down behind her from it, black pauldron with large, black, spider-leg-like pieces sticking up off of them, red along the edges of the pauldrons and on their raised collar, a pair of black gauntlets with red hourglass designs on the outsides, black, thigh-high boots with small spikes running up the outsides and with large, red designs at the top of the boots. The main section of her armor, however, consisted of a black belt with silver studs spaced along it and five in the front forming an "X", and that was the most appropriate part. There was a strip of cloth attached to the front of one pauldron, then reaching down to well below her belt, low enough that it was clear she had no pubic hair at all, before splitting into one extremely thin strip reaching between her legs as the other side of the strap reached back up to the front of her other pauldron. Neither of the straps were more than two inches wide, and her darker grey areolas were visible to either side of the straps. Likewise, from his vantage point off to her far right, Jasper could see that the strip that ran between her legs was only a single string, the string vanishing between the round, firm flesh of her beautiful ass, then reappearing at the top in time to connect to her belt. There were a pair of black crests adorning her head, one on her forehead which started as a point on the bottom, then split into three at it reached up and out to the sides, like a three-point tiara, then a mirrored crest in the front of the bun in her hair. In her right hand was a long, black staff with the end resembling a black flower and a shimmering, red-and-green sphere in the center.

The Drow's eyes swept along their line, narrowing rapidly. "Vermin. Filth. Traitors. How dare you attack us? You and all of your sun-cursed kind will die screaming for crossing us."

"We don't have to kill you, you know," Jasper said. "Tell us why you attacked the Dwarves. Maybe there's a way to settle this peacefully."

"Why we attacked?" the Drow scoffed. "You presume much. The Dwarven mines were to be ours, but we care nothing for the Sunset Mountains or your filthy surface cities. Those have been promised to others, and they may have them."

"Others?" Adrianna frowned.

"What's your name?" Mia asked.

"Ilivarra," the Drow answered.

"Ilivarra," Mia nodded. "My name is Mia."

Ilivarra's eyes narrowed.

"Who promised you this mine?" Mia asked.

"Can it be that you've come all this way without knowing your enemy?" Ilivarra asked. "Then it is ignorance that has made you brave."

"No, we're brave because we're doing what needs to be done," Jasper said. "We're protecting people who have nothing to do with whatever deal was made to you, beyond being in the way."

"Short-sighted idealist," Ilivarra scoffed. "You're a fool."

"He's not a fool," Edgin snapped.

"He's one of the best men I've ever met!" Adrianna snapped.

Ilivarra scoffed. "And yet, despite having slaughtered all of my people, and despite outnumbering me, an enemy, he's trying to convince me not to fight you. What, are you afraid?"

"He's trying to save you," Doric said. "If we fight, you'll die. He's trying to save your life."

"Because it's like you said," Aranea said. "He's an idealist. While he's playing the hero, he wants to be the best hero he can. He wants to save everyone. Even you."

"Save me?" Ilivarra snorted. "From what?"

"Death," Jasper said. "Yourself. Whatever you choose to believe I'm saving you from. You could come with us. You could live on the surface. You could learn to live somewhere that isn't eternally dark and dangerous. Somewhere that every day is a battle for survival."

"And then, what?" Ilivarra scoffed. "I become one of your whores, like those three?" She pointed to Mia, Aranea, and Adrianna, who all bristled, Adrianna blushing.

"You wouldn't have to be anything you don't want to," Jasper said. "You wouldn't even have to be our friend. Just let us show you that there's more to life than killing and struggling to survive."

Ilivarra scoffed. She stared at him for a long moment before humming thoughtfully, considering. Finally, a small smile formed on her face. She opened her mouth, her gaze riveted on Jasper, and by the time the warning sirens shrieked in his head, it was too late. Her mouth moved, speaking a word he couldn't hear, casting a spell he couldn't hope to comprehend, and in an instant, dozens of deep gashes had burst into existence over his body. He felt cold instantly, everyone staring at him in horror. He fell, crashing to the ground hard, the others all roaring in rage and flooding inward, save for Xenk, who was at his side in an instant. Jasper looked over at the battle, watching as Ilivarra blocked a pair of Lightning Bolts from Adrianna and Simon, blasted Holga away with a Lightning Bolt of her own, sent a Fireball into Kromlech, which was weakened by his shield but still hurled him, Edgin, and Mia. Ilivarra teleported away in a flash of purple light, and several skeletons burst from the ground. Aranea and Doric smashed them, Doric in her Owlbear form. Jasper couldn't see the battle, now, but he could hear the others' shouts of pain, frustration, and effort.

Xenk ignored the shouts entirely, focusing on healing Jasper. Shadow remained hidden, knowing as well as Jasper that Ilivarra would probably know how to destroy him. Instead, Jasper and Xenk simply remained in place, trusting the others to protect them while also struggling to deal with Ilivarra. And protecting them became an actual issue when Ilivarra realized that Jasper wasn't dead. She sent a truly massive Fireball at him and Xenk, only for Adrianna to step into its path at the last second, using a Shield Spell to block the fireball. Several skeletons burst from the ground, swarming them, only for her to smash them with her staff before returning fire at Ilivarra with a massive swarm of dozens of Magic Missiles. Adrianna swore, blocking them all, but the resulting explosions surrounded her entirely. A moment later, she appeared off to the side, only for Simon to immediately blast her with a Lightning Bolt, sending her crashing into the wall. She shoved herself to her feet instantly, opening her mouth and glaring at Xenk, only for Mia to plant a Quicksilver arrow in her gut.

Ilivarra's eyes went wide, a wheezing gasp echoing through the room as she staggered backward, staring down at the arrow that had punctured her diaphragm. Then, she dove to the side, out of the way of Aranea's spear. She raised her hand, but when she tried to speak, she could only barely force out a word, gasping for breaths her diaphragm suddenly couldn't draw in well enough. Then, Kolgrim's sword's blade burst from her chest. Her eyes went wide, staring down at the blade before she fell to her knees. Kromlech placed his foot against her back and shoved her from his blade, sending her crashing to the ground before he spit on her.

Instantly, Mia and Aranea joined Xenk and Adrianna at Jasper's side. Jasper forced his body to raise a hand, and Mia took it instantly, Aranea taking his other hand. Slowly, Jasper's wounds sealed. Simon quickly ran over, pulling several healing potions from his Bag of Holding, carefully pouring them into Jasper's mouth for him to gag down. Finally, after nearly twenty minutes of constant healing, Jasper's wounds were sealed, and Xenk sat back, using a rag to wipe Jasper's blood from his hands.

"You scared us!" Mia smiled, relieved.

"She scared me," Jasper defended himself. "What was that?"

"It was a Power Word," Xenk said. "An incantation of a single word, a word that the speaker understands so well, and wills into existence. There are a number of such spells. One for evisceration. One for healing. One to stun, and to petrify, and to burn, and to blind. One to pulverize, and to raise the dead. And one to kill."

Jasper's eyes widened in surprise. "That's terrible."

Xenk shook his head. "The spells aren't bad in and of themselves. The use of them is what is important. But they are all incredibly powerful spells."

"Could I learn them?" Simon asked.

"Learning to use a Power Word is incredibly difficult," Xenk said. "Only a handful of people in history have ever been able to successfully cast their spells. I never would have expected her to be capable of using any of them."

"I bet I was more surprised than you," Jasper grinned.

Xenk smiled, shaking his head, and they all headed for the exit, only to stop as they heard a voice calling out, off to the side. They all walked over to a small alcove off to the side, finding a handful of cells formed from small nooks in the alcove, one of them occupied by a Dwarf.

"Who...Who are ye?" the Dwarf asked.

"My name is Kromlech," Kromlech said, stepping forward and holding up a horn with a key attached to it. "Let's get you out of there, brother."

The Dwarf visibly relaxed, and Kromlech opened the door. "Is she dead? That Drow witch?"

"Yes," Kromlech nodded. "We killed her."

The Dwarf nodded. "I am Brogan. Tell me...are ye of the Harpers?"

"In a manner of speaking," Jasper said.

"They hired us to help Baldur's Gate, then again to look into the troubles in the Sunset Mountains and the Marsh of Chelimber," Edgin explained.

"You're their missing agent?" Vahn asked.

"Aye," Brogan nodded. "I was their eyes in the Sunset Mountains. There was...something stirring within the mountains, organizing the Gnolls...the Ogres. Then the Dragon appeared..."

"We've met the Gnolls and Ogres," Jasper said. "We killed most of them, I think. We found a few encampments and destroyed them."

"The Dragon eluded us, though," Adrianna said. "What do you know of these forces?"

"I know little," Brogan shook his head. "But the fact that the Dark Elves are working with them is cause for worry. Whatever leads this army, it must be powerful to have such troops as allies. I heard the Drow speak often of their plans. Their goal was to exterminate the Dwarven settlement here, in order to protect the movements of the Gnolls and Ogres in the mountains. In exchange for their help, they were promised the mines and all within it."

"The Drow killed the Dwarves so the Gnolls and Ogres could move freely?" Kromlech frowned.

"Aye aye...though I know not why," Brogan said. "They care nothing for Gnolls and Ogres."

"We found a teleportation gate from Baldur's Gate to the Dwarven camp," Simon said.

"Well, close to it, at least," Doric corrected.

"Whoever is behind the events here and in Baldur's Gate was trying to move the Gnoll and Ogre troops through the gate to attack the city," Xenk said.

"A gate?" Brogan asked, thinking. "I...I heard the Drow speak of a gate, but it led to the Marsh of Chelimber, not Baldur's Gate."

"Then there are two gates in the Sunset Mountains," Holga reasoned.

"Where is the gate that leads to the Marsh of Chelimber?" Aranea asked.

"I had been searching for the source of the troubles in the region when the Drow struck the mines," Brogan explained. "If my hunch proves true, then the gate to the Marsh may lie within an ice cave within the Mountains."

Jasper blinked slowly. "Could you be a bit more specific? There are a few of those."

"This'll be the biggest one," Brogan said. "North of the camp."

"Can you show us where it is?" Edgin asked.

"I will mark it on your map," Brogan nodded, accepting a map from Kromlech. "Finding yer way to it may be a trick, but ye should be able to reach the cave from the mining camp. As I said, it's to the north. The cave itself is sealed with a great sheet of ice, though I think the Drow priestess made mention of some horn she used to enter the cave."

"That'll be this one, I bet," Kromlech said, holding up the horn he'd gotten the cell's key from.

"Good, then we can get in," Edgin nodded.

"And probably fight a dragon," Jasper said. "Xenk, any advice on that one?"

Xenk nodded. "I'll fill you in later."

"If these gates are the work of the creature behind these attacks, then ye must travel to the Marsh of Chelimber and find out the nature of this threat," Brogan said.

"We will," Doric nodded.

"Brogan, send word to the Harpers," Edgin said. "The danger to Baldur's Gate may be greater than we thought. They need to prepare the city to fend off an attack."

Brogan nodded. "Let us squander no further time talking about it."

"Agreed," Xenk nodded.

"Let's get the fuck out of here," Jasper nodded, grimacing as his legs trembled. "I'm going to need rest before we go after the Ice Cave."

"You'll have it," Xenk promised.

Jasper nodded, and they all headed back toward the lift, Mia helping Jasper support his weight.

Mia sighed as her and Jasper fell still, his member remaining firmly rooted inside of her. Aranea lifted up off of Jasper's face, then leaned forward to kiss MIa for a few seconds before moving out of the way so that Jasper could kiss her. However, just as he did, the flap of the tent opened. There was a shrill squeak of surprise and embarrassment, and Jasper and Mia both looked over, seeing Adrianna standing frozen in the tent's entrance. From her position, and the way Mia and Aranea had both twisted around to look, Adrianna could see literally everything, including Jasper's erection still hilted inside of Mia.

Mia smiled knowingly, and lifted up off of Jasper, who used his abilities as a Changeling to force himself soft as both he and Mia replicated a pair of black pants and a shirt for Mia. Jasper's pants were fairly loose, but Mia's pants were skin-tight and her shirt was cut low to show off her cleavage, but aside from her extremely tempting choice of clothing, she behaved herself as she reached over and gently guided a scarlet-faced Adrianna into the tent so that the flap could close. Off to the side, Aranea was just finishing cleaning herself up with the wash tub in the tent, then began to dress herself in her armor again, unfazed by Adrianna's frequent glances at her bare body. Not that she was the only one. Adrianna's eyes were also jumping between Jasper and Mia as well.

"I'm so sorry!" She finally gushed as her shock began to wear off once she was seated beside Mia and Jasper. "I didn't mean to interrupt! I had no idea you were-"

"Adrianna, it's alright," Jasper smiled. "We'd actually just finished."

Adrianna's blush darkened, and Jasper and Mia chuckled.

"That's not what he meant, but yes, that too," Mia smiled.

"I'm so sorry!" Adrianna apologized again.

"It's alright, Adrianna," Jasper smiled, cupping her cheek for a moment with his left hand, as it was the closer of the two. "We don't mind that you walked in, and we're not mad. You have nothing to apologize for."

Adrianna nodded jerkily.

"So, what's up?" Mia asked. "Did you need something?"

Adrianna's blush darkened slightly. "I-I...just came to check on Jasper. I was...w-worried. H-He was injured so b-badly...and..."

She trailed off as her eyes involuntarily flitted around, down to Jasper's toned muscles, over to Mia's cleavage and down to where the crotch of her pants nearly sank into her slit, and then over to Aranea, who was standing upright but bent over at the waist to strap on her grieves, giving Adrianna a clear view of her ass and pussy, though Adrianna missed the knowing grin Aranea flashed Jasper, who smiled slightly as he watched Adrianna's involuntary glance. Finally, Jasper sat up, stretching and twisting for a moment.

"Y-You're supposed to b-be resting," Adrianna stammered, realizing she'd stopped talking.

"This is me resting," Jasper smiled. "And in between bouts of resting, Mia, Aranea, and I decided to celebrate the fact that I'm alive."

Adrianna nodded jerkily again. "I'm glad you're alive."

Jasper smiled, nodding, then shifted over beside her, Adrianna's cheeks darkening again. He reached up, cupping her cheek and turning her head toward him as he leaned closer.

"I never got to thank you properly for protecting me," Jasper said.

"I..." Adrianna's eyes flicked down to his lips.

"Do you want me to stop?" Jasper asked.

"I...I don't..." She pulled back slightly, and Jasper did the same, though he kept his hand on her cheek. "Why are you...doing this? Why are you..."

"Because you're important to us," Jasper said simply. "You're beautiful, and talented, and you accepted me and Mia despite knowing what we are, and then Aranea as well."

"We care about you, Adrianna," Mia said from behind Adrianna, resting her hands on her hips but otherwise doing nothing to tempt Adrianna.

"If you ask us to, we can leave you alone," Jasper said. "We'll do nothing to seduce you, and we'll behave appropriately as friends, or even just as temporary traveling companions if you wish."

"But if you want to," Aranea said, sitting to Adrianna's right, "you're welcome to join us. To be our lover. We've all seen the looks, especially in the last few minutes, so we know you're attracted, but it's your choice."

Adrianna sat in silence for several long moments, then finally took a shuddering breath. "I...I don't know if I'm ready for..." she swallowed hard.

Jasper nodded. "We won't force you into anything. You can set whatever pace or boundaries you need to."

Adrianna nodded, hesitating again, then leaned forward, Jasper meeting her in the middle. For several moments, Adrianna was hesitant, but then all at once, she seemed to snap, letting out a heavy breath as she pressed closer to Jasper, her tongue slipping out to seek out Jasper's, which it found instantly. Jasper smiled into the kiss. He suspected that Adrianna was more ready than she herself realized, but he kept his word, allowing her to set the pace. And that pace was frenzied and desperate, but before she could lose control entirely, she pulled back. Mia leaned forward, kissing the side of Adrianna's neck. Adrianna moaned softly, but Mia didn't push her.

"What about me?" Mia asked.

Adrianna made a small noise at the back of her throat, turning her head and meeting Mia's lips and tongue just as passionately as she'd kissed Jasper. As the two traded kisses, Aranea kissed Jasper again. Finally, Aranea pulled back, kissing Adrianna's cheek, and Adrianna turned her head to meet Aranea's lips. Finally, as Mia and Jasper both leaned forward to kiss over Adrianna's shoulder, Adrianna's hand reached down to Mia's, pulling it forward and between her legs. Mia grinned into the kiss instantly, slipping between the leather straps of Adrianna's skirt to rub her clit through her panties. Adrianna moaned into her kiss with Aranea, who reached up to the clasps in Adrianna's armored top at the back, beginning to unfasten them. However, just as she had it open, Shadow formed a wolf's head, growling out a warning, and everyone quickly disentangled themselves, Aranea and Mia instantly fastening the armor again before all three slid away from Adrianna, allowing the illusion of having been doing nothing inappropriate. A moment later, Doric warned that she was entering before carefully sticking her head in.

"And here I thought at least one of the usual three would be naked," Doric said, then narrowed her eyes. "You and Jasper are replicating your armor, aren't you?"

"Yep," Mia smiled. "We didn't see the point of getting dressed when we're supposed to be resting."

"Jasper's supposed to be resting," Doric reminded her. "Anyway, Jasper, are you feeling ready to go?"

"I take it no isn't an option," Jasper sighed.

"It's not," Doric said. "Sorry."

"Alright," Jasper nodded. "Give us a couple of minutes to put our real clothes on and we'll be along."

Doric nodded and left, ignoring the fact that Aranea and Adrianna were still there. As soon as the tent's flap was closed, Adrianna had pulled Jasper back into a kiss. He smiled, kissing her hungrily, but slowly eased her back down to a slightly more calm, controlled state before pulling back, by which time, Mia was dressed in her newer armor and had adopted a new form. She now was a Drow with blue-grey flesh, ample breasts filling her armor, long, slightly-wavy, snow white hair, vibrant, purple irises, and dark purple lips, gums, and throat with pure white teeth.

"Oh, good choice," Jasper smiled, appreciating Mia's new form.

"You look beautiful," Adrianna nodded as Jasper quickly dressed himself in his own armor and strapped on his weapons.

Once everyone was decent and armed, they left the tent, to meet up with the others.
