Chapter 4: Toxic Wonderfulness (2/4)
Bloody hell, even the interior is better than the GCPD. Alan Thomas Wayne couldn't help but think that as he moved through the Police Station of Gateway City.
With only a gas mask and a flashlight at hand, the sidekick explored the place in search of some clues about the purpose of this stunt from Doctor Poison.
The casualties were minimal , so I highly doubt that this was done with the sole purpose of killing some police officers. Alan was currently standing inside one the offices, analyzing the ones who were unfortunate enough to inhale the gas. By the looks of it, it's sometype of hydrogen peroxide based gas, but he needs to analyze it further to know.
What was she after anyway? Alan asked himself as he kneeled down to inspect some of the dead bodies. Clearly, Doctor Poison was after something as the gas was obviously to empty the station. The low casualties made that part obvious.
Alan checked the badges of some of the deceased officers. All of them were common officers, none in any type of high position. Just unfortunate casualties by the looks of it.
Once he was done inspecting the bodies, Alan stood up. I got to find the source of the gas. There was no way that the gas just got into the station, there had to be a device that released the toxin or something similar that was hidden inside the station. Okay, the most likely place to hide it would be an inaccessible area.
"Freeze!" Suddenly, Alan was surprised by someone yelling at him from behind. Only for him to respond with nothing but apprehension. Turning, he saw Cassie pointing her finger at him like it was a pistol. She was wearing a gas mask similar to his.
"What exactly are you doing?" Since Alan told her to wait on the roof.
"This was supposed to be a team work, I don't want to sit around." The blond girl was quick to point out.
Alan sighed in response. "Doctor Poison probably used some kind of device to have the toxic gas released into the station." He explained to her since there was no way to make her go away now. "The question is, where did she hide it?"
"The officers outside seemed to be preparing themselves to enter the building, so we better hurry." Cassie informed him.
"Alright then." Alan signalled her to follow him as the two made their way out of that room . While having no knowledge of the layout of that station, Alan had determined where they should go. With Cassie following behind him slowly.
"Any idea why this happened?" Cassie asked him.
"A theory or two, but I need to investigate further." One of the main reasons why someone would attack a police station is usually to recover something under police's possession. Something that has happened quite often in Gotham, as some of the criminals break into Police Stations to recover their equipment or gadgets that were apprehended after their capture. Personally, I don't understand the point, it would be more practical to just destroy it since it's clear that some of them don't have the means to replace it. Despite that, Batman and Robin themselves do sometimes take possession of their enemies' equipment and gadgets. Father and I can actually put those things to good use, but there's literally no point in keeping them in a locker for no purpose other than pointless evidence. Especially since the evidence is unnecessary since they mostly catch them in the act.
"Look." Cassie called his attention while pointing at something with her index finger. Moving his head to see, he saw a small bulletin board that had a blueprint of the building. "Areas marked in red will be inaccessible for the next week." She read a message right above the blueprint.
"Hmmm... The station must be going through some sort of reform." It was Alan's best guess. "Convenient."
"Four rooms are marked in red." Cassie pointed out the obvious. The rooms marked in red were the: Booking room, Staff Lounge, Control Room and Interrogation room.
"You think one of them is the place?" Cassie asked him.
"It would be too obvious but I highly doubt that hiding it was her top priority." Alan can only guess that whatever Doctor Poison wanted, she already managed to get her hands on it. But until they figure it out, their only objective is to neutralize the device and make sure the station is safe. "You check the Booking room and the Staff Lounge since they are near each other." He instructed his cousin. "I'll go check the Control room and the Interrogation room."
"Be careful, okay?" She requested him in concern as she touched his shoulder.
"Always." He grabbed her hand and squeezed in response before the two separated.
Both went in opposite directions in order to begin their search.
If Cassie is correct, the crew outside may enter the station at any minute, so we need to act quickly. Alan memorized the blueprint, so finding his way there was easy. The corridor was filled with the gas, so he hoped that the officers were taking the necessary precautions to rid themselves from it.
After a very short walk, Alan arrived at the Interrogation room. Slowly, he opened the door and checked the interior.
The room was simply enough , a table in the middle and a big two way mirror on the wall. The room was clearly going through some sort of repair as there were some holes and exposed wires in the ceiling. For the gas to spread around the station like it did, the device would need to be placed in the ventilation system somehow. That room particularly lacked any access to it.
Slowly, the sidekick moved out of the room and slowly made his way to the other room that he was supposed to check.
The Control room could be a good spot. Alan thought as he slowly walked by the corridor. "Huh?" However as he took each step carefully, he realized that he stepped on something. Looking down, he came across a strange sight. Blood? There were a few drops of blood on the floor.
Looking closely, he realized that there was a small trail of blood that actually led precisely where he was supposed to go.
The only people here were the unfortunate officers that weren't able to escape the building in time. Alan noted as he quietly approached the door. This gas is toxic but only deadly if you breathe it. Which made the sight of blood odd.
Slowly, Alan reached the door and proceeded to open a small gap to see it inside. Catching the sight of someone standing in the middle of the control room, searching for something.
What? Alan was confused. The individual seemed to be a police officer, since the uniform was identical to the dead bodies that he saw earlier. "Where is it?" The individual, whom Alan couldn't see, spoke out loud. The voice indicated that it was a man.
He moved around rather anxiously, like he was desperately searching for something. What are you looking for, sir? Alan asked himself as he observed him.
Eventually, the man turned around and made his way to the door. Leaving Alan just a split second to hide. So he quickly ran towards a door that was located on the left and entered the room to avoid being spotted. "Stupid bitch..." The man spoke spitefully as he stepped outside of the room and continued to walk down the corridor.
This man is not a police officer. That was painfully obvious. Alan was able to have a better look at him from his hiding spot and he was able to tell right away that he stole that uniform as it looked way too baggy on him.
"Ahhh..." As the man walked, he realized that he kept clutching his right arm in pain. His arm is bleeding, a laceration in his forearm that was done by something sharp. As he observed, he felt a strange breeze coming from inside the room that he was in. Moving his head to check, he realized that there was a broken window with lots of glass shards in front of it. That explains it. Whoever that man was, he wasn't supposed to be there.
Alan's gaze returned to the corridor, where he saw the man turning around the corner. With him getting off his cover and following the man quietly. Once he reached the same corner, he took cover and peeked once again. Seeing the man frantically searching for something, despite the fact that there wasn't anything in that corridor other than a few doors. Wait a minute? When the man moved his head enough, Alan was able to see his face, with a very important detail standing out. He's not wearing a gas mask? The man had nothing on his face, and he was clearly breathing in the toxic gas as his breathing was quite frantic.
For a second, he wonders if the gas is really toxic. I am not going to take this kind of risk and remove the mask to find out. Alan wasn't willing to take that kind of risk. It could be toxic immunity, similar to the one Poison Ivy possesses. Though, that seems highly unlikely.
"Ahhh..." The man grunted in pain as the cut on his arm was bleeding quite a lot. However, that wasn't enough to stop him from searching for whatever he was looking for. This man seems desperate. It was obvious since he wasn't even bothering to at least wrap something around his arm to try to contain the bleeding.
What exactly are you looking for, sir? Alan asked himself as he continued to follow the man quietly.
The man that was poorly impersonating an officer continued to walk down the corridor until he reached a door that apparently led to a bathroom.
A woman's bathroom. Which he entered right away.
Alan followed him and once he got closer, he realized a sign on the door.
Out of order... That was what was written on the little sign on the door. Which means... That could also be a hiding spot.
Slowly, Alan opened a very small gap on the door to check what was happening on the inside. Only to get the sight of the man stumbling and nearly falling on the floor only stopping himself from falling by grabbing on to the sink. Blood loss is clearly taking it's effect.
"Ahhh..." The man grunted in apparent pain. Not enough to stop him from pushing through and making his way towards one of the stalls.
Alan couldn't see it clearly after that, but he did hear a loud noise. That was followed by silence. Prompting the sidekick to make his way inside to check.
Opening the door as slowly as he could and walking as slow and quietly into the bathroom as possible. Until he reached the stall.
"Dammit..." Only to see the man unconscious on the floor right beside the toilet. He inspected the man and realized that he was dead. I guess whatever kept you from succumbing to the gas had worn out. Moving his head up, Alan noticed something interesting. Was that what you were trying to reach?
Right above the stall, there was a small vent. In order to see if it was what he thought it was, he climbed on top of the dirty toilet. Disgusting... And forced the vent open with his bare hands.
There you are. Inside of the vent, there was a strange looking device that partially resembled a homemade bomb, but Alan could tell that it wasn't. It looks completely improvised. Especially since the entire thing seemed to be held together with duct tape.
It really did, the device seemed like something someone would do with very limited resources. It adds to my theory that attacking the station wasn't her main priority, but I still don't know what exactly was she after.
Alan thought deeply as he reached for the device. Inspecting closer, he realized that it had a timer on it that had already reached zero. A specific time was set for the gas to be released. That was a little off for him, a timer instead of a remote device is a very strange choice. Either she didn't have the time to add a remote device or she planned this so carefully that the timer was set at the precise moment that she needed. Whatever it is, I need to figure out what was the purpose of it.
Coming down from the toilet, Alan dropped the device inside the toilet. The device is practically worthless now since it already did it's function, though, what this function was is still a mystery. Despite hoping for some clue, he could tell that the device was made in a hurry and using improvised materials so there was nothing in it that could help him investigate. However, there was something that Alan hoped to find. So once it was inside the toilet, he flushed it in order to soak the device before he picked it up again and proceeded to break it apart in order to check the interior of the improvised device. Disgusting, but worth it. Because he found exactly what he was hoping to find. Inside the device, there was some type of small container that seemed to have been holding some kind of substance that was empty now. It's an improvised vaporizer. He deduced after picking up the empty container. It vaporized whatever substance this held and spread it around the station through the ventilation system. Looking up close, Alan tried to check if there was anything left. Maybe I can find some leftovers, but I need some equipment. If Alan was in uniform, he could have identified this in seconds.
After placing the container inside of his pocket, he proceeded to inspect the mysterious man.
He was a man in his early thirties, with a buzzcut and clean shaven face. He was considerably thin and the police uniform that he was wearing looked baggy on him. Who are you? Alan was annoyed that he didn't bring his mask with him, since the Detective Vision could have easily identified him.
His only option was to try to find clues on him. Starting by inspecting his pockets to see if there was anything in them. Luckily, he found something. A library card? Flipping the card around he saw that it had a name on it. Joe Atkinson. Alan memorized that name in order to check it later before placing the card in his pocket. Now that he identified the man, he decided to look for clues. "Hmmm..." Despite not having the necessary tools for a proper autopsy, he could find signs here and there that indicated the cause of death.
The cut on his arm was considerably deep, but I don't think blood loss was the cause of death. He thought while he inspected the cut on his arm. Wait, what is this? As he inspected the arm, he realized something on his inner elbow. Injection mark, done recently. Someone injected something into that man and that might have been both the cause of death and the explanation of how he was able to breathe into that gas. If I could get a blood sample, maybe... He extended his hand and proceeded to rip off a part of the man's sleeve as it was covered in blood.
"Is this blood?" Out of nowhere, his thoughts were interrupted by a man's voice.
Dammit, the team sent to search for the cause of this station's contamination must have entered the building. Alan thought as he folded the bloody sleeve carefully and stood up from the floor. I gotta find Cassie.
He thought as he placed the carefully folded sleeve inside of his pocket.
Having no other choice, Alan was obligated to escape the place before getting caught. I got everything I need. He decided that as he moved away from the bodyand the remains of the improvised vaporizer.
"Did you see that broken window, someone came into the station?" He heard a man's voice as he approached the bathroom door.
"Whoever did that has to be crazy." Another man spoke as Alan opened a small gap to check. "This place is filled with a kind of gas that I have never seen before."
Even the team hasn't identified the kind yet. Alan thought after eavesdropping. What kind of toxic gas did you spread on this station, Doctor Poison? That was something that the sidekick was curious about now.
After checking the door, Alan realized that the team hadn't reached that area yet, but he could see lights right around the corner. So he took that opportunity and left the bathroom, running quietly towards the opposite direction. Until he was forced to take cover inside another room as the team reached the corner.
"The trail leads to the bathroom." One of them spoke.
Alan peeked from his cover and saw them slowly approaching the bathroom where he left the device and the body. The whole team was wearing hazard suits. It was a smart move, but Alan could tell that it was only dangerous if you inhaled the gas.
It only took a few seconds for them to enter the bathroom. "Look at this." When they all did, Alan proceeded to run as quickly and quietly as he could towards the direction where he came from. Passing through the bathroom without being spotted as the team was focusing on the dead body and the vaporizer.
Turning around the corner, he ended up colliding with something. "Mhh..." A small grunt escaped his lips as he fell backwards on his rear.
"There you are." It turns out, he ended up colliding with Cassie. Who immediately grabbed him and lifted him up.
"I found it, let's get out of here." Alan told cousin as he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the direction which they came from.
"What was that?" Because the team probably heard him falling.
"I don't understand, what could she possibly have been after?"
After running back to the rooftop, Cassie flew out of there while carrying Alan with her. The two cousins made their way back to his mother's apartment.
"I have no idea, but whatever it was, she must have been desperate to get it." Alan responded.
"Why?" Cassie asked.
"That improvised vaporizer was clearly done in a hurry, and using that alongside a toxic substance is incredibly dangerous." Alan pointed out. Handling toxic substances is already a danger itself but doing that with an improvised device is pure madness.
"Have you found out anything about that man?" Cassie asked him.
"I sent the name to Alfred and asked him to check on the Batcomputer for me." It was the best way to get full info on the man.
"Hmmm..." Diana absorbed everything that he told her as she continued to run her fingers through his hair.
Alan and Cassie were both inside of Diana's room. Alan was laying on his back with his mother sitting on the edge of the bed right beside him on the left, caressing his face and running her fingers through his black hair. Cassie was laying on his right side, with her head on top of his arm, hugging him tightly but not to the point of actually hurting him.
As Alan was having a personal moment with his mother and cousin, his phone vibrated. Picking it up, he realized that it was a message from Alfred.
"Did he get the information?" His mother asked him.
Alan nodded in response as he read the information. Joe Atkinson was a thirty-one year old unemployed man . He was divorced and used to live in Metropolis. The man had a painfully extensive criminal record that was filled with at least ten years worth of robbery charges. Basically a classic thief, but that doesn't exactly explain what exactly he was doing at the station.
"The man was nothing more than a common thief, but that doesn't explain his presence there." Alan informed them as he sat up on the bed.
"What is the man's name again?" His mother asked since Alan didn't actually tell her.
"Joe Atkinson." Alan revealed.
His mother sighed. "I know him."
"You do?" Cassie asked her in confusion.
"He's basically someone that has a small name but a big ego." Diana explained to them. "He basically views himself as a professional robber and keeps trying to steal valuable items, failing miserably every time."
"Kindly explain to me how exactly this man was not arrested? " Alan asked her in confusion, because by the way his mother is speaking, Joe Atkinson was nothing more than a incompetent fool.
"He's the half-brother of an important figure in the police force." Diana explained. "Honestly, he's nothing more than a mild nuisance." Which was obviously the reason why she didn't bother with him that much.
"You think Doctor Poison hired him to steal something from the station?" Cassie asked as she sat up as well.
"Why would she hire an incompetent thief to steal anything?" Diana pointed out how stupid that sounded.
"Desperation?" Alan spoke out. "I mean, the improvised vaporizer and hiring a guy like this only tells me that she was beyond desperate to retrieve something from the station as quickly as possible." That was Alan's major theory.
Cassie sighed. "But, what the hell could that be?!" She was clearly dying of curiosity now.
Alan sighed as well, because he had no answer. The only way to find that out would be by investigating the station. Pondering that thought, the sidekick tried to come up with a solution to this predicament. Until he widened his eyes as he remembered a very important detail. Which was the fact that his mother and cousin both had superpowers. "Tell me..." Both Cassie and Diana looked at him. "How long would it take for one of you to fly to Gotham City and then come back here?"
The answer was, not long at all.
"Ummm... C-can I help you?" A police officer asked.
Robin was standing right in front of an officer in front of the Police Station of Gateway City. "Is the station already clear of the toxic gas, yes or no?" He bluntly asked the officer.
"Ummm... I think so, bu-" Before the officer could finish what he was saying, Alan walked past him and made his way towards the entrance. "H-hey, you ca-'' The officer attempted to tell him that he couldn't come in, but he quickly stopped talking when he noticed that Wonder Girl also walked past him.
Wonder Girl quickly reached him and began walking beside him. "So what's the plan?" She asked him in a low voice.
"Continue to investigate and discover what exactly was Doctor Poison after and whether she managed to get it or not." Robin responded to her.
Cassie actually flew all the way to Gotham City and grabbed Alan's suit and equipment for him. After doing so, Alan put on his Robin suit and made his way back to the station to continue his investigation with Wonder Girl accompanying him.
Mother preferred to stay behind and let us take care of this, probably because of Cassie's obsession with teaming up with him. Robin thought as he entered the station with a Wonder Girl walking besides him.
Once he sat foot inside of the station, Robin activated his detective vision in order to inspect the place and see if there was any more deadly gas left. It has been cleaned up completely, with zero percent of it left, so we should be fine. Which was supported by the fact that some officers were inside the station. But that's odd, they shouldn't have been able to completely decontaminate this station in just a few hours. Adding even more questions to the bunch that Robin already had.
Moving forward, Robin caught the attention of several officers that were inside of the station. Who clearly were surprised by the fact that he was there, some were clearly searching to see if Batman is with him, not that he can blame them. Wasting no time, Robin simply ignored the officers. Who were all checking the place up for more casualties or clues.
"Oh shit, is Batman here too?"
"Nah, I think it's just him."
"But why is he here?"
"I think Wonder Woman asked Batman for help and he sent the kid."
"You gotta be kidding me."
"Dude, this toxic contamination was clearly not an accident."
"I know that, but if Wonder Woman of all people asked Batman for help , than it's worse than we thought."
The officers kept discussing his presence there. My presence here is merely a coincidence. But Robin mostly ignored them as he was focused on the task.
Robin and Wonder Girl eventually reached the bathroom where the device and Joe Atkinson's body were. There was an office in front of them.
"Has the body of Joe Atkinson been moved?" Robin asked the office.
"Who?" The officer asked in confusion.
Robin simply moved his head and looked into the bathroom. Good, they haven't moved him yet. "Sir, kindly step aside." Robin demanded.
"Hey, I'm not supposed to let-" The Officer attempted to stop Robin from entering but before he could. Wonder Girl grabbed him by the shirt, lifted him off the floor and gently placed him on the left side, out of Robin's way.
"Thank you." With Robin stepping into the bathroom as soon as he was out of the way.
"The last guy that blocked his passage doesn't have teeth anymore, so consider yourself lucky." Wonder Girl informed the officer before she followed him inside.
"Ehhh..." The officer was apparently terrified with the information.
Robin and Wonder Girl approached the bathroom stall where the body of Joe Atkinson was, in the exact same position that Robin left him. However, the vaporizer that Robin broke apart was gone.
"That's the guy?" Wonder Girl asked him.
"Yes." Robin kneeled down and activated his detective vision. When she was retrieving my uniform, I also had the blood sample and the substance sent to Alfred so he could analyze it using the Batcomputer . He was expecting the results at any second.
With the proper equipment he could finally analyze him properly. "Hmm..." The cause of death was due to respiratory failure, his lungs practically stopped working. His lungs were filled with fluid, indicating pulmonary edema. It was actually present before he came to the station and it contributed to his ultimate demise. Robin identified the cause of death, but he was still unsure what exactly he was injected with.
Until his communicator began to beep. "Is the analysis complete?"
"Yes." Alfred, who was analyzing the sample for him, responded. "Apparently, the man was injected with Epinephrine."
"Epinephrine?" Robin was confused. Why... Then he realized something and proceeded to actually move the dead body in order to remove the man's pants.
"Ew, what are you doing?" Wonder Girl asked him.
"The idiotic fool injected himself with it before entering the station." Once the man's pants were removed, he found several track marks on his outer thigh, the most advisable spot to inject Epinephrine. The pulmonary edema was likely caused by repeated use Epinephrine injections. "Thank you very much, Alfred."
"Good luck in your investigation, Master Alan." It was all Alfred told him before turning off the communication.
"So... he liked to inject himself with Adrenaline?" Wonder Girl was clearly confused.
"Don't bother trying to understand, you'll be surprised how much crazy stuff people like to put on their body." Robin has to admit, that wasn't the craziest thing he ever saw someone injecting himself with.
"But, that doesn't really explain what the hell he was doing here." She pointed out.
"Excuse me?" Before Robin could reply, someone called their attention. Moving their heads, they saw a woman. She was around her mid-thirties and had dark skin and short brown hair.
Robin's Detective Vision was activated, so he was able to identify her right away. "Isabelle Modini, you are the chief of Police of the Gateway City Police Department, correct?" It wasn't really a question, just a confirmation.
"Precisely." The woman confirmed as she approached the two sidekicks. "I assume that there's a reason why you two are in this station?" She asked the two of them since the presence of the sidekicks of two of the main founders of the Justice League could only indicate that the situation was more serious than she thought.
"The toxic contamination that occurred here was apparently the doing of Doctor Poison, and if I am correct, the purpose behind it was to retrieve something that was under the custody of the police." Robin explained everything to her.
"Any idea what it was?" The Chief heard him loud and clear, visibly preoccupied with the possibility. "We don't really keep anything that a mad woman uses because most of it is dangerously toxic." That was honestly the right decision but that only made things more confusing for Robin.
Robin sighed in response. "This isn't good then." Because she might have been after something another one of Wonder Woman's foes utilizes.
"Do you keep an inventory or at least a list of everything you apprehend?" Wonder Girl asked her, because seeing Robin's reaction definitely made her worried.
"Of course, it's standard procedure." Chief Modini informed the two before signalling them to follow her as she moved towards the door. "Follow me, please."
The two followed the police chief outside of the bathroom, with both sidekicks giving each other a look as this was starting to become more worrisome.
Interesting story I am looking forward to reading more
GREAT!
For Power Girl think her regular name being Galatea would be more suitable in this over Karen since she's a clone it's likely Alan will be the one to give her a regular name and with Alans connection to Greek mythology think he would find the name Galatea appropriate for his fellow artificial being.
Kara choose the name Karen.
Great
GREAT...
So you mentioned the MC fighting other Batman's from different universe's. Will that mean you're gonna add the Dark multiverse with Barbatos and The Batman Who Laughs to this fic. Also if he's gonna fight different versions of Batman will he fight/or meet different versions of himself. For example when the Batman who laughs invades instead of Damian Wayne as the Dark Robin it's the Mc's alternate version of him since the Mc's the combination of every Robin
It's a little hard to explain but yeah, he will encounter those dark versions of Batman.
Enjoyed the chapter
With the flashback first I very much doubt Penguin thugs would have been able to beat up Alan in his first year as Robin so that I have a hard time accepting happening anyway oh boy was Barbie sending him mixed signals that night but hey ended well for him at least also loved his retort to Babs about his age very clear that when it comes to his age Alan goes by his biological age not his chronological age which makes sense
Now loved the interactions with Cassie this chapter and just how happy Alan was to be around her really and in turn how happy she was to be with him and he's loved how they clearly acted like a young couple on a date and Alan still being perplexed by his fan club haha
Do like that Cassie is already speaking about the sidekicks and younger heroes forming their own Justice League neat that she's the first to mention it but think it's likely the League are already considering implementing such a move after all while Cassie might be the originator the idea has likely been floating around the young heroes for a while now something the League definitely would have picked up on also imagine plenty of people know Alan will be leading this team one way or another haha
Liked the interaction with Diana to before Alan and Cassie went off to investigate Dr Poisons attack oh and when comparing Gotham to Gateway City and Metropolis instead of highlighting the lack of Wayne tech in each city I would have just had him say he likes Gothams architecture more again really hope at the end of the day Alan just loves Gotham craziness and all
At the end honestly would have loved Alan just walking into the poison clouds no problem due to already having his immunity shot from Ivy
Preview wise firstly again Zod calling him Ken El just doesn't fit right if you ask me haha Al El just suits Alan far more and appearance wise wouldn't have changed his hair and since it seems like he has the S on his chest would have had it noted Alan replaced it with a Bat also definitely wouldn't refer to him as Superboy haha look even if the League and Batman told him to do so that doesn't mean Alan can't do his own thing frankly if he wanted he could have told to them flat out no and gone out in his own costume him putting on a Kryptionian outfit is one thing but he doesn't have to go with being called Superboy even for a second and the first person to do so should receive a bat death glare
Also got a very Agent Kallus vs Thrawn vibe from the fight with Zod could picture Alan noting Zod has decent technique but is limited by his military training compares to Alans own vast amount of fighting styles also liked the use of some magic in the fight thought I wouldn't chalk up Alan beating Zods ass so easily due to the general underestimating him and having just had a epic fight with Powergirl would also mention it's just Alans own immense power alongside his being a superior fighter
Do maintain the idea that when it comes to his Kryptonian powers alone Alan shouldn't be the exact same as Conner he should be far superior
So then if Alans second hero moniker is a mix of Red X, Batham Beyond and Arkham Knight then yeah definitely hope you go with a name like Scarlet Bat
Oh yeah while Alan might hit if off great with Karen from the moment she turns up hope by then Alan is on openly great close intimate terms with Kara
Honestly like to think that while he's happy to give Clark the cold shoulder Alan doesn't have any real issue with Kara her trying to get him to embrace his Kryptionian side more isn't a source of real hate for Alan more he just finds it annoying and aside from that plus the attempts to encourage him to give Clark and chance now Alan actually likes Kara a lot
After all unlike Clark, Kara accepted Alan from the start so while annoying she should be good in Alans book and do like the fact nowadays Clark is trying to bond with Alan but he's not having any of it essentially just the you weren't their when I actually needed you so I see no reason to care for you now
Possible fun suggestion I hope you like when the Titans/Young Justice is formed on the day of its founding when giving a tour of the base Lobo and Sheba rock up outside on their space motorcycles and when Alan gets outside Lobo is like "hey kid me and the misses are going on a second honey moon no place for our kid so here she's a massive fan of yours" he then proceeds to literally throw Crush at Alan and he and Sheba give one last teasing remark to their daughters and fly off essentially they know Crush wants to meet Alan and likes him a lot so for them it's a win win for everyone haha
Again really hitting on the idea that Alan brings in all the young heroes who aren't linked to a Justice League member onto his team like Starfire, Raven, Crush etc
It was literally his third mission and he was trying to attack directly instead of using proper strategy. Basically, Barbs was going through some turmoil during that time and she wanted Alan but she feels like the whole thing is inappropriate due to the fact that Alan is literally just three years old.
I wanted to showcase that despite Alan acting stoic and super serious like Batman, he can let loose and be himself when he's around his loved ones.
Pretty much, but Alan still hates the idea of being leader.
I'll make sure to add that later when Robin and Wonder Girl visit other areas.
Not yet, I'm afraid.
(Sigh) For now on, I'll just say Al-El and let's put an end to that right here. He literally just brushed his hair down (Alan actually looks like Earth 1's Superman like that.). I'm gonna be very honest, when it comes to everyone else, Alan is as stubborn as it gets but he never goes against Batman.
Yeah, that whole fight was basically Martial Artist vs Soldier.
He's more or less the same at the start (When he begins to use them at least) , only later after he gets a good grasp is when his powers become superior.
I'll think about it, the truth is, I'm trying to come up with a cool name for a while now.
More or less.
Alos more or less that...
Kind of...
That would be funny...
Basically...
I was having a crappy couple of days, but my happiness in seeing this story get a new chapter for this story feel like it was worth it. Can't wait for the next update for this story, your avenger story, and your Dragonball story. They're the main reasons I decided to follow you. Keep up the great work
Thank you, that means a lot.
Wait. So there is a Karen Starr who is Power Girl here n a Kara Zor El who is Supergirl? Because u made it sound like Kara was suppose to be Power Girl instead n that she's actually a clone, a genetic template of Superman which meant that Kal-El had no cousin. Please explain this properly so we can expect things better.
No Punchline in the harem. Absolutely not. What would he see in that sadistic, cold-blooded monster? She everything Harley shouldn't be, n thank his for that!
At least now we got a look at the suit Alan would get when he retires from Robin. As for the name we got something to work with the colour red with bat. Though what if he had an identity which combined themes from Batman, Superman, n Wonder Woman? He would be… something Messiah.
Why do I get the feeling Cassie wants more than being cousins with her Wonder Boy? Cause I'm pretty sure she's not actually related to Diana asides for her father being Zeus.
Can we have a harem list of the female villains Alan could attract?
Sounds like he really needs to feel love if he doesn't get why Barbara said they can't. He also has no understanding on the complexities of a human mind to understand what he did was off. Just what u can expect from a clone. No proper humane guidance since bred.
Do keep in mind that Ghostmaker is not to be trusted. Unlike Bruce, Khoa is only doing what he does because he likes the killing he does.
When is Alan gonna grow a pair n become a mature man, because even Earth 16's Superboy became more respectable than when he was acting like a kid.
Update soon. Hope to see more of Alan's path on making his own story.
Karen is a clone of Kara here, having an origin similar to Alan which is why he's more affectionate and loving towards her.
Yeah...
Still deciding.
It's complicated but kind of...
No list, sorry.
Exactly.
Yeah...
Obrigado pelo capítulo incrível Autor-San!
De nada.
Thought he had powers? How can a weak punch from wonder girl hurt him? How can weak gas affect him? Nice chapter tho
He suppressed his powers because he hates his Kryptonian side and Superman.
What's his relationship gonna be with Jonathan Kent(son of superman) and can we get a preview
Just a small one:
{
Alan just wanted to leave without anyone noticing, but he was so exhausted that he ended up collapsing on the bed that used to belong to Clark.
He was actually planning on ditching the whole "family dinner " as soon as he was done resting. Because he certainly didn't belong there.
Eventually, Alan opened his dark blue eyes, being greeted by the blue ceiling of Clark Kent's old room. Causing Alan to sight in response.
However, before he could stand up, he felt something on his right arm. Moving his gaze to see what it was, he realized that there was someone else on the bed with him. Who put him in here? Alan thought in deep annoyance as the little Jon Kent was sleeping peacefully beside him. The toddler was hugging his arm tightly, drooling on it as he let out very soft snores. Dammit... He really wanted to get out of there, but he couldn't find any way to move without waking up Jon.
As he tried to come up with an escape plan, he heard a noise coming from the door. Moving his head, he realized that Lois was observing the two from the door.
"Why the hell did you put him here?" Alan asked the boy's mother in a low voice.
"What?" The journalist asked with a smile. "He wanted his big brother." She revealed it to him.
Alan frowned at the woman in response. "I am not his brother." He had to control himself to not yell that at the woman. Despite technically being Jon's half-brother, he simply didn't consider himself as such.
"Keep telling yourself that, maybe you'll believe it someday." Lois told him with a wink. "Dinner will be ready in twenty minutes." She warned him.
"Actually, I was just leaving." Alan was not going to that dinner. "So if you could please pick him u-"
Lois's response to Alan's refusal was to shut the door on him, with Alan having a urge to grunt in annoyance. Slowly, the messy haired boy tried to slowly pull his arm away from Jon's hug, but the Toddler seemed to have noticed and simply hugged his arm tighter, making Alan look up in deep irritation. Let go... Dammit... He really wanted to get out of there.
"Oh my god.." Suddenly, he heard a voice coming from the door once again. Moving his head to see who it was, Alan let out a sigh of relief as he saw Martha Kent standing at the door.
"Mrs. Kent, I'm glad you are here, could y-" Before Alan could request the old woman to pick her grandson up so he could get out of there, she suddenly moved away from the door without saying a word. Leaving a confused Alan there with Jon still clinging on to his arm. It only took a minute for her to come back with a camera in her hand and snap a picture of them without saying a word.
"This one is definitely going into the family album." She declared as she looked at the photograph that she just took, before leaving the room in the next second. "Jonathan, look at this."
Alan just sat there with a dumbfounded expression. What the bloody hell is wrong with these people?! That was the only way that he could possibly describe the Kent family.
"Mmm..." Suddenly, Jon made a sound before opening his big blue eyes that were identical to Clark's. The moment that the Toddler saw Alan there, he immediately smiled and crawled to him. No! No! No! Alan screamed internally as Jon moved from his arm to his torso and clinging to him even more. Let go... He spoke internally as Jon rubbed his cheek on Alan's black T-shirt, clearly showing no intention of letting it go. Can't you just understand that I don't want to be your brother?
"Brother..." That was Jon's only word to Alan.
Alan could only sight in response once more before patting Jon in the head. Because by the looks of it, he really didn't have a choice in the matter.
