Happy Holidays! Here is the second update for you! Thank you for allowing me to share my stories. It fills me with joy and so much love!
"Okay, you have to try on this black and red one," Kitty said happily.
Mercedes glanced at the lace lingerie in Kitty's hand. "Girl, that will barely fit my stomach."
Quinn shook her head, "Kitty's right; it will look hot on you, right San?"
"No, she can't wear that! She will give that man a heart attack." Santana laughed. "But no, for real, you gotta try it on."
Mercedes sighed as she took the nightie and walked into the dressing room. Quinn walked towards her and handed her a blush babydoll dress.
Mercedes took a breath as she tried on the black and red lingerie and stared at herself in the mirror, exhaling. The one thing about being pregnant was that it allowed her breasts to sit perfectly on her stomach.
"Merce, let us see!" Quinn said excitedly.
Exhaling loudly, she opened the door and stepped out. All three women catcalled her, causing Mercedes to blush.
"Damn girl, look at those boobs!" Santana said, reaching out.
Mercedes rolled her eyes. "Stop."
"No, she's right, girl. Sam is gonna lose his shit." Kitty added.
"But my belly."
Kitty shook her head. "No, listen, do not let that voice step in and make you feel anything less than beautiful."
Quinn took Mercedes's hand. "Kitty is right, you are beautiful, and the fact that you are pregnant just makes it better. Sam is gonna lose his mind when he sees you."
Mercedes chewed her bottom lip and nodded. "Okay, ok, you are right. I am just trying my best not to freak out. It's been so long since I have been with a man, and the last time I saw Sam…the last time he saw me, I didn't look at this."
"Look, I am just gonna be honest with you. I am distracted by your boobs, so I am certain Sam will be too." Santana said smirking.
Mercedes smiled as she tried not to laugh. "Ok, now that I believe." She turned to go back into the dressing room.
"Just make sure that you are ready for what this next step means," Quinn said softly. "You and Sam are becoming this family, it's clear he adores you and Cody."
"We adore him too. It's funny, I gave up on love; I just wanted to have this child and move forward, you know? But he…came here and just changed my life. In the best way."
Quinn's eyes widened. "You love him."
"What? No!" Mercedes said as she finished getting dressed and stepped out of the dressing room.
All three women looked at her with wide eyes.
"You are in love with Sam Evans…I can see it." Kitty said, encouraging her. "It's okay; you can admit it."
Mercedes sat down on one of the plush benches. "I don't know how it happened! One minute, we were trying to be friends, and the next… he was sweet and caring. The way he is with Cody warms my heart."
Kitty sat next to her. "Are you gonna tell him?"
Mercedes looked from her to the other women. "Should I? I mean…he has to know how much I care for him. What if I tell him and he doesn't feel the same? What if it makes things awkward between us? We are having triplets, and then there is Cody; what if it's too much for him to want, and he kicks us out?"
Santana stood in front of her and bent down. "I am gonna chalk this rant up to those baby hormones roaming around your body like I did last week when you cried at that dumbass commercial."
Mercedes opened her mouth in shock. "Hey! They were showing homeless animals; anyone with a heart would cry!"
"Okay, and crying over that McDonald's commercial?" Santana asked.
Mercedes smirked, shaking her head. "Yeah, no I have no idea why that big mac brought me to tears."
"Exactly, so all this doubt is just your emotions working double time. Throw them away and go with how you feel." Santana encouraged. "Now, can we please wipe this moment off and go back to me watching you three try on sexy underwear!"
Everyone burst out laughing as Santana stood. "Hehe hell, I came to see you three in something sexy, and I am not leaving til it happens."
Kitty laughed, but Mercedes shook her head. "Yeah, she's serious. We should…."
The three women walked into the dressing rooms as Santana smiled. "Gotta love shopping with the girls."
Sam sat back at his desk, humming as Blaine walked in with a smile. "Hey! I got those contracts ready for your seal of approval and signature to send to the clients."
"Oh great! Thanks, B. I needed that."
Blaine nodded. "No problem. It didn't take that long. Were you humming when I came in here?"
Sam looked up. "What? Oh I guess I was…"
Blaine raised an eyebrow. "Uh huh…you don't hum Sam."
Sam sighed. "Blame Mercedes."
Blaine smiled. "Oh, this should be good."
"That woman sings all the time. I'll be in my office while she's in the kitchen, and I hear her singing and not just one specific genre either. That woman will sing R&B, Country, Broadway, Rock, Rap…That woman will sing whatever, and now she has me doing it too."
"What was the song that you were singing when I walked in?"
Sam smiled. "It's called 'Seventeen,' from the Heathers…that and 'I am Telling you' from Dream Girl's seem to be her favorite…she has a beautiful voice."
Blaine tapped Sam's desk. "She is changing you, and you don't even realize it. You guys really are falling for each other, aren't you?"
"I don't know. I mean maybe…I guess it will be tonight."
"Ah yes, the infamous first date with Mercedes. Are you ready?"
"Yes…no. I don't know."
Blaine sat across from Sam. "What don't you know?"
Sam exhaled deeply. "Everything is different with her. She makes me feel like…like I am such an amazing man like she sees the best of me. But then I think of all the bad that can happen."
"Like what?"
"Well, for one, even if the date goes bad, I can't just ghost her. She's the mother of my kids."
"Speaking of that, I think you should get a contract set between the two of you to ensure you can and will be able to be in the kid's lives. She went to a sperm bank; you have no legal right to those kids."
Sam put the folder down and stared at him. "What are you talking about?"
"You gave your sperm to the sperm bank, and though you had no intention of it being used in the manner of implantation of a stranger, it happened. She is recognized as the mother because she is giving birth to them. But you have no legal rights as their father. If something goes wrong, she owes you nothing. Therefore, you should get it in writing that you are the father in her eyes and the eyes of the law."
"How is that possible? I am the donor."
"Yeah, and if Mercedes were married to say…Sebastian, then in the eyes of the law, Sebastian would be the father, and you would have no rights."
Sam ran his fingers through his hair. "Well damn…I didn't…. I didn't think about that."
Blaine smiled, pulling out another file. "Lucky for you, I am paid to think about stuff like this."
"What's this?:" Sam asked taking the contract."
"This is your ticket to fatherhood, should you really want it. Have Mercedes sign this, and you will have equal rights to their father."
Sam went over it and shook his head. "How am I supposed to get her to sign half of her rights over to me?"
"I suggest you ask after giving her multiple orgasms." Blaine teased.
Sam's eyes widened. "That's just underhanded, and I am not that kind of guy. I want to be upfront with her about things."
Blaine eyed him for a moment. "You really like her, don't you?"
Sam exhaled, staring at him for a long moment. "I liked her when she was at the club. I fell for her when I learned she was carrying my kids. Having her live with me, getting to know her…"
"Sam? You love her?"
Sam sighed. "I think so. She and Cody have…they have opened my eyes. I don't want to lose this family over a few words on a contract."
"Then lay your cards out there. Tell her how you feel, and see where the cards fall."
Sam nodded. "Well, tonight is now or never because Quinn has Cody, and we are going out to eat. And then, hopefully, I put us both out of our misery."
"You two still haven't had sex?"
"I think she is self-conscious due to being pregnant, and I don't know how to make her see. I don't mind it."
Blaine shrugged. "I think you are gonna just have to show her. She may think that you want sex; you gotta convince her you want more than that. That you want her, only her."
Sam nodded. "What if instead of dinner, I do it up at home? Romantic bedroom picnic where I rub her feet, give her pickles, and show her I want it all."
"I think that would show her that you care; she is what? Six months pregnant now?"
Sam sighed nodding. "Yeah…am I like a pervert for wanting to have sex with her while she's pregnant."
"Do you feel like a pervert?"
"No." Sam breathed. "Honestly, I see her walking around my place, carrying my babies, and I am so very attracted to her. I don't know how to explain it. I just am."
Blaine smiled. "Then no, you aren't. It's not uncommon for men to be attracted to their pregnant spouses or girlfriends."
Sam nodded. Well, I will sign these contracts and get them to my client. Then I have a date to plan."
Blaine nodded, standing from the chair. "You know, for what it's worth, I think we all can see that the two of you belong together. She brings out the old you. The one you were before the tech company took off before you closed yourself off to love."
Sam smiled. "Funny you said that because that's how she makes me feel. Like I am back there. Like I can let my guard down. She lets me be just Sam in all my goofy glory. Did I tell you she and Cody came to my room, and we cuddled and watched movies the entire time? They were laughing at all my accents. Encouraging me to do more. It feels like we are a real family."
"Who knows…maybe one day you will be."
Mercedes kissed Cody on his forehead, strapping him into his car seat. "You have fun with Aunt Quinn."
"Hold up," Sam said as he ran out. "Don't forget Miles, aka Spidy!"
"Oh! I forgotted him." Cody cried out, reaching for it. "Thank you, Sam!"
"Always lil man. Have fun!"
Cody reached his hands up towards Sam, and Sam bent down, hugging him.
"I love you, Sam!" Cody smiled.
Sam's heart felt like it was going to burst at that moment. "I love you too." He said, kissing his forehead.
Mercedes felt like she wanted to cry as she watched Sam and Cody. Quinn smiled, reaching over to her.
"Nothing like a father and his son." She teased.
Mercedes shook her head. "That's not…I can't…"
"Yeah, don't even bother making up a lie. I see your face." Quinn shut her door and smiled. "Come on, Cody, let's motor."
Mercedes stepped back as Sam stood beside her, watching Quinn drive away. Turning towards him, she smiled.
"So, where, too?"
Sam smiled. "Follow me."
Mercedes grew curious as she followed him back into the house. "Aren't we going out to eat?"
Sam led her to his room and stopped at the closed doors. "You are six months pregnant; you were at the B&B drawing up plans all day, then ran around with Cody; you are tired. So…"
Mercedes gasped as he opened the door, seeing a trail of rose petals and flameless candles on his dresser lighting up the room. As she walked farthing inside, she exhaled emotionally. "You made me a picnic?"
"Full of all your cravings, ho-ho's, tastykake krimpets, and pickles."
Mercedes turned to him, holding him close as she hugged him. "Oh Sam!"
He held her. "I wanted to do something special for you, but you are pregnant, and I am taking that into account."
Mercedes looked up and smiled at him. "You are-you are so amazing. Thank you, Sam." She leaned in and kissed him soundly, pressing closer to him.
Sam ran his hand through her hair as his other gripped her waist, pulling her closer. "I like it when you thank me with kisses."
She laughed, chewing on her bottom lip. "Hey…let me change real quick, and then we can get comfortable."
"Oh, okay, yeah. I will get the apple cider; yes, I got the simply apply one."
She nipped his lips. "You know me so well." Walking away, she closed the door to the bathroom and walked into the walk-in closet Sam had given her.
Walking into it, she opened the drawer, pulled out the black and red teddy the girls picked out, and quickly slipped into it. Looking at herself in the mirror, she adjusted her breasts and let her hair fall to her shoulders.
Adding lipgloss, she adjusted herself once more and stepped out of the bathroom. She stopped seeing Sam on the bed with his glasses on, working on his laptop. He looked up at her and froze.
"Mercedes…wow. You look…"
He watched her eyes go to his laptop and frowned, shaking his head. "No. No wait. When you said you were gonna get comfortable, I figured…shit, forget what I figured. You look…damn you look…" He placed the laptop down and stood from the bed.
"You are beautiful, Mercedes."
She blushed. "You don't have to say that."
"I know." He said, stepping towards her. "But how can I not? You are.." He moved to cup her face. "The most beautiful woman I have ever seen. And being pregnant with my child makes you irresistible."
"Really?"
He nodded. "Yes." He said, his lips a breath away from hers. She stared at him as he hesitated.
"What's wrong?" She whispered. "You don't want to kiss me?"
Sam linked his hand with hers. "I do…but before I kiss you, I need to talk to you because if I kiss you right now, we won't be talking."
"Okay, so talk." She said sighing.
Sam moved to grab his bag and pulled out the contract. "I care about you, Mercedes. I care about you, Cody, and these new babies."
"I know you do, Sam; we care about you."
He nodded. "But the way the babies came about wasn't in a way that allows me actually to be in their lives."
Mercedes raised her eyebrow in confusion. "What are you talking about?"
Sam handed her the contract. "I want to be a part of my children's life, not just in name; I want my rights as their father."
Mercedes stared at him, feeling tears come to her eyes.
"Wait…wait, no. I don't want you to think that I don't want this. I do. I want to be with you and Cody and these babies, but I want you to know that I am in this for the long haul."
Mercedes stepped away from him, and he frowned. "Mercedes please…"
She turned away from him and reached inside of her purse, grabbing a pen. Signing her name, she turned to him and offered him a smile. "You are their father, in every way, every sense of the word."
Sam smiled, took the contract, and put it on the dresser. Reaching for Mercedes, he pulled her to him, nipping at her lips.
"Is there anything else we need to get out of the way?"
Mercedes licked her lips and shook her head. "No…nothing I can think of."
Sam smiled. "Good, because I am gonna take my time with you."
