A/N: Thanks so much for all your love and support for this story. It's truly overwhelming the amount of reactions/comments I've gotten for this story Anyways, enjoy the Christmas Eve chapter a day early. I got sick this morning and am stuck in bed. So, might as well do a double upload so I don't have to post until Christmas Day when (hopefully) I'll be feeling a bit better.
Day 24: December 24th
It was Christmas Eve and Sharon, along with Andy, had planned a Christmas Eve party for her and the team to celebrate the holiday season.
The murder room was decked out in decorations that would stay up from now until New Years Day.
Sharon had sent Provenza and Andy out to grab pizzas for everyone.
Meanwhile, Sharon and the rest of the team were putting the finishing touches on the party.
Everyone was dressed in out of office clothes except for Sharon and she thought now might be the perfect time to go change.
A couple minutes later, Andy and Provenza came in with stacks of pizzas and arguing like usual.
"It wouldn't be Christmas if you two weren't arguing," said Buzz.
"Oh, shut up Buzz," said Provenza.
As Andy looked around the breakroom for Sharon and didn't see her, he asked the rest of the team, "Where's the captain?"
"Oh, she just went to her office to change. Said she'd be back in a few minutes," answered Sykes.
"Okay. Thanks," said Andy as he went out of the breakroom and into the murder room to wait for Sharon who he assumed was still changing in her office as the blinds were drawn closed.
Andy leaned against his desk and waited patiently for her.
Sharon had kept her outfit top secret, not even telling or showing Andy the outfit beforehand that she'd bought last weekend.
A minute later, Sharon strolled out of her office in a red sleeveless v-neck jumpsuit, gold jewelry, the diamond earrings Andy had given her the previous night, and also the red velvet heels he'd gotten her.
Andy whistled when he saw her outfit.
"Andy, you can't catcall me in the workplace," Sharon told him as she adjusted his red tie.
"We're off the clock for the next few days. Plus, you look stunning," Andy told her as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Well, thank you. You don't look too bad, yourself. Did you and Provenza get all the pizzas?" asked Sharon.
"In the breakroom," Andy told her.
"Thank you," Sharon told Andy as she too wrapped her arms around his waist.
"You're welcome," replied Andy as his hands slid a little lower down her back.
Sharon just shook her head and rolled her eyes as she said, "Since you can't seem to keep your hands off of me right now, let's take this into my office."
"Ooh sounds intriguing," said Andy as he let go of her waist and put his hand at the small of her back and guided her towards her office and shut the door behind them, the blinds still drawn.
"It's not what you think," said Sharon.
"Damn. You know I've always dreamed of taking you right on top of this desk," said Andy, semi serious about what he'd just revealed.
Sharon smacked his shoulder in admonishment before she said, "Not happening."
"Alright. Why'd you invite me in here then?" asked Andy.
"To give you your last gift," said Sharon as she went behind her desk and opened the top drawer before pulling out a small box wrapped in red wrapping paper and sliding it towards Andy.
"What is this?" asked Andy.
"Open it," Sharon told him giddily.
Andy tore open the wrapping paper and saw a small black velvet box was underneath it.
"What? Did you get me a pair of earrings too so we'll match?" joked Andy.
"No! Open the box, Andy," Sharon told him.
"Okay," replied Andy as he popped open the black box.
Inside, were custom silver cufflinks monogrammed in black with his first and last initials.
"Wow! These are snazzy," Andy told her.
"I thought you could use some nice ones for nice occasions," said Sharon.
"I do. Thank you, Sharon," Andy told her as he set the box with the cufflinks on her desk and wrapped his arms around her waist again as he placed a chaste kiss against the side of her forehead.
"You're welcome. Like you're always telling me, you're worth it," Sharon echoed his words back to him as she looked into his eyes and smiled.
"I love you," Andy murmured and smiled against the shell of her ear.
"I love you too," whispered Sharon against his ear.
When a knock echoed from the other side of the door, they broke apart and Sharon said, "Come in."
When the door opened, Rusty walked in and said, "I'll have you know I drew the short straw to come and get you two."
Andy clapped his hand on Rusty's back and said, "Kid, life is full of drawing the short straw moments."
As the three of them walked out of Sharon's office, Rusty said, "But I shouldn't have to do this here. It's bad enough I have to do it at home."
"I'll make you a deal, Rusty. After Christmas morning, Andy and I will stay secluded in my room so you don't have to deal with us being lovey dovey for a couple of days. Deal?" asked Sharon.
"Eww…mom! That's even worse. The walls in the condo aren't that thick," Rusty told her.
"You could always go out with friends. Then you wouldn't have to hear us," suggested Andy.
Sharon smacked him before he asked her, "What?"
"Rusty, we promise to be as quiet as possible so you aren't traumatized further," Sharon told him.
"Now, that's a deal I can live with," Rusty told her.
"I'm not making any promises about this," said Andy.
"Then you're sleeping on the couch the next few days," Sharon told him matter of factly.
"Alright. Agreed then," said Andy begrudgingly as the three of them made their way towards the breakroom.
"That's what I thought," said Sharon as a sweet smile was shared between her and Andy.
"Can you two save that for later?" asked Rusty.
"There are certain things you'll have to meet us in the middle on, Rusty," Sharon told him.
"Alright," said Rusty as he rolled his eyes and walked ahead of them and into the breakroom.
"The lovebirds have arrived," announced Rusty as Sharon and Andy joined the rest of the team to start the Christmas Eve party, keeping plans for later in the back of their minds for the time being.
