Special Author's Note

The reader clicks onto his email account and a notification pops up. The notification is from . Opening the email, he finds that it is a new chapter for Brisbane Clan and goes to click it. But just as the mouse taps on the link, a pair of hands suddenly pops out of the screen and into the reader's face. The reader is startled as a voice says, "Whoa, there, partner."

The reader quickly scoots his chair back as something, or someone starts to pull themselves out of their computer. The figure pulling themselves out of the computer strained as they struggled to get out. A moment later, a young elf like being pulls his torso out of the computer and stands before the reader. The being had long white hair, pointed ears, silver eyes, a red tunic with gold trimmings around the collar and sleeves covered with a purple sash that was tied by an orange band, a couple of manacles on his wrists, a pair of bluish pants and red boots that had the same gold trimmings at the top. The reader started to question, "Wh-Wha-"

"A moment, dear reader." The being quickly interrupted while placing a finger against the person's mouth. Gesturing to himself he introduced, "Now, you may already know me as Puck.

"And I bet you're wondering why I've come crawling out of your computer." He said while pulling his hand back. Puck wiped his hand on his tunic before saying, "Well, let's just say that I'm performing a service from our dear friend, TheWriterForGod42.

"You see, he's tasked me with giving all you lovely folks with a message about the Brisbane Clan story." He informed. This mostly caused the reader sitting before him to tilt their head in confusion. Puck cleared his throat before saying, "The message being told to you all is quite simple, really.

"TheWriterForGod4 is setting some ground rules in regards to the story." Puck said. Holding up a finger and said, "The first being is that don't expect updates to be a regular thing. He's got a busy enough schedule as it is."

"Two, he asks that any comments regarding the story are kept between a PG to PG-13 level of swearing." He stated. Leaning a little closer he added, "He's the kind of guy who believes that swear words are reserved for times of anger or pain, if you know what I mean.

"And the third and current final rule from him is…" Puck paused a moment. Reaching behind him he pulled out a rolled up scroll and unrolled it. The parchment unfurled and rolled across the ground before going through the open door and further beyond that. Raising his free index finger Puck said, "That there will be no pestering questions or harassment of the status of the story at anytime. Which means that he doesn't want people to question where the next chapter is, is he working on the next chapter or any harsh words about why there is no new chapter.

"And there is the warning here." Puck informed as he moved the scroll to where he could look. Staring closer and placing his finger against the parchment he read, "Any breaking of the third rule will result in the delay of the completed chapter to designated date of the author's choosing.

"Which basically means…" Puck said as he rolled up the scroll again. Looking to the reader with a mischievous grin he said, "That any pestering for story content will mean that he'll tell you that the completed chapter will be delayed for a bit."

With a wave of his hand, Puck made the parchment disappear into thin air. The child of Oberon then placed his hands behind his back and leaned forward to the reader. Puck's grin didn't change when he said, "Now, your cooperation with these rules is crucial and he expects everyone to follow them. And he means everyone.

"TheWriterForGod4 appreciates your patience and he'll try his best to keep you entertained." Puck then turned back to the computer. But before going back in he looked to the reader and said, "Oh, and one more thing he wanted to tell you…

"Have a Merry Christmas." Puck waved and then jumped into the computer screen. The reader covered their eyes from the resulting flash of light. When they looked again, the computer screen was dark, as if the child of Oberon hadn't been there at all.
