Chapter 49: Bankai Training 2 Day 1
"Exactly what the hell am I supposed to do" Ania mumbled to herself as Kanzen Bi's voice echoed all throughout the mist "If you wish to pass this training you must first learn to accept and defeat the darkness that resides within yourself". "Wait what does that even mean?" she yelled into the mist but received no response "I hate riddles!"
Out of the corner of her eye Ania saw something moving through the mist as she turned around unsheathing Kanzen Bi ready to attack just whatever it was she was supposed to face. To her surprise it was a man who came sauntering out of the mist face down looking at the ground as Ania eyed him up and down, he was the same height as Mitch and had spiky blue hair that waved about uncontrollably while he wore a robe like a shinigami's though it was completely white. The shirt he wore was torn open revealing a chiseled torso along with a weird dark red mark spiraling up his chest that looked like a scar from a previous fight.
As her eyes wandered down she spotted a dark blue katana hanging by his side that looked awfully similar to a zanpakuto and yet he looked nothing like a Shinigami. "Who exactly are you?" she asked as he looked up only for her to notice he had something like a skeletal jawbone on the left side of his face with teeth that looked like a shark. Grinning they moved with his mouth like they were a part of him while those cold blue eyes had that all too familiar battle lust that Mitch always had when fighting burning inside.
Without even saying a word he charged forward unsheathing his blade as Ania raised Kanzen Bi up blocking his blow which caused that grin to get even wider. "To complete my bankai training all I have to do is defeat this handsome guy, well that shouldn't be to hard" Ania thought to herself ducking underneath one of the attacks before slashing Kanzen Bi across his chest leaving a long red gash.
Stepping back the man stared down at the wound in awe like he had never been cut in his life before bursting into laughing. "Who exactly is he and what the hell does this hunk of a guy have to do with me achieving my bankai?" Ania thought to herself stepping back as the man looked over at her "Hmm well glad to see you're not just a pretty face but you can fight as well".
"I'm just glad to see you can talk since I thought you'd be one of those all brawn and no brains type of guy" Ania returned the man's smirk "I can assure you I have brains but still plenty of brawn". "Before we resume our little dance what should I call you?" Ania asked as the man cocked his head to the side at the question "Call me Grimmjow" he said before leaping forward as the two of them locked blades together "Now what's your name beautiful?" "Mines Ania".
Done with the introductions Ania vanished from Grimmjow's sight reappearing behind him placing her left hand at the top of her zanpakuto about to release her shikai only to find nothing was happening.
"What the hell is wrong with my zanpakuto" Ania muttered as Grimmjow swiveled around slashing at her head as she rolled to the side avoiding the attack. "To truly learn bankai you must learn how to fight without relying on my powers" Kanzen Bi's voice echoed inside her mind as Ania stared down at the blade "So you're saying I have to fight using just a regular katana!"
"Who the bloody hell are you talking?" Grimmjow asked staring at her confused "No one of your concern" Ania rebuked coldly as he burst into a fit of laughter "So cold I love it!" leaping forward he slashed multiple times attempting to land a blow but every time Ania would nimbly dart away from each attack watching for an opening.
"There!" with one slightly weaker swing she parried the blow away before counterattacking with a slash across his chest directly opposite to where she landed the earlier blow leaving a second red mark. Grimmjow appeared unphased though as he simply punched the air with his fist firing a red energy ball that flew at breakneck speed slamming into Ania and knocking her back onto the ground.
Slowly she sat up to find Grimmjow standing directly in front of her smiling down at her "You know it has been a while since I've laid eyes on someone as beautiful as you so I think I'll take my time with this fight and savour every minute". In response Ania extended out her right hand "Destructive Art 31: Shot of red fire" a red orb flew out hitting him directly in the face as Grimmjow staggered back from the shock of the explosion with his eyes shut.
Jumping up Ania leapt towards her opponent as Grimmjow opened his eyes at the last second blocking her strike with his bare hand before clamping his fingers around it and bringing his blade swinging around towards Ania's head. Letting go of Kanzen Bi she ducked underneath the attack before swinging her leg around and connecting with Grimmjow's jaw as he was thrown back releasing his grip of Kanzen Bi before landing on the ground.
Picking Kanzen Bi off the ground she walked over to Grimmjow standing over him and smiling "You know it's also been sometime since I've seen someone as attractive as you but unfortunately I won't savour our time together". Kanzen Bi was then thrust into Grimmjow's heart sending blood spraying up onto her face while his body went lifeless and collapsed to the floor. "That should conclude my bankai training I think" Ania thought to herself as she slowly began to walk away from Grimmjow's corpse waiting for Kanzen Bi to dissolve out of the pink mist and tell her she had successfully completed her training.
"I feel like this may take a while" Ania sighed sitting down after aimlessly walking back and forth for a few minutes with no response at all from Kanzen Bi. "Aren't I done!" she yelled into the mist not noticing that behind her Grimmjow had slowly stood up from the ground all the wounds on his body completely healed by the pink mist.
"Say that was pretty cold blooded of you to kill me that way, have to say I might be in love" Grimmjow's voice came from behind as Ania leapt up startled that he was alive. "How I killed you" she said staring at the stab wound or at least where it should have been and yet there was nothing there it was all healed as he had his katana in hand ready to continue where they had left off.
Somewhere in the back of Ania's mind she was secretly happy that this handsome mysterious stranger wasn't dead and that they could continue crossing blades for at least a little while longer. "How exactly are you still alive?" "I have no idea, one minute I felt the cold taste of your steel piercing my heart and next minute my eyes opened back up completely fine".
His hand hovered over where the stab wound used to be "I have to say you really broke my heart though I can't complain if I was to die at the hands of someone so beautiful". "If you're quite done with all that flattery can we resume our little duel?" Ania said as Grimmjow bowed placing his katana over his shoulder "Ladies first".
Unsheathing Kanzen Bi from her back she raced towards Grimmjow as her entire body passed through him leaving him completely unharmed as Grimmjow was left standing there confused by what had happened. He only had a second to think as Ania came flying in from the side his reflexes kicking in blocking the strike only to watch Ania vanish from his sights and then reappear above him extending two fingers out before starting an incantation ""Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six Binding Art 61: Six Rods prison of light".
Six beams of light crashed into Grimmjow's torso locking him in place as he gripped one of the beams attempting to break it to no avail. "You know this is pretty kinky I had no idea you were that type of girl not that I'm complaining" he joked as Ania landed in front of him and placed the tip of Kanzen Bi against his throat "Perhaps if I slice your throat you'll die this time". "Awwww even though I love it when you're so cold to me could you really kill someone as beautiful as I am" Grimmjow smirked moving his right hand slowly down to his katana digging his nails onto the blade making a loud scratching noise "Grind Pantera".
The bindings holding him in place shattered as a bright white light engulfed his entire body and deep inside a transformation could be seen taking place. As the light cleared Grimmjow looked drastically different now as his body was thinner and lean with the appearance of a feline. His arms and legs looked like the hind legs of a cat complete with razor sharp claws as his jawbone teeth vanished and instead there was a crown-like object on top of his head. His hair had grown rapidly turning into like the shaggy mane of a lion and it looked like fur covered his entire body as he grinned showing a pair of razor-sharp teeth while a tail flicked up and down behind him. "Seriously just who or what the hell are you?" Ania asked confused as what this form was standing before her while Grimmjow just laughed with his trademark smirk "I'm everything you've ever dreamed of".
"Umm what the hell is Ania battling down there" a voice came from behind Yoruichi as Mitch stepped next to her finally awake from his nap. "Get plenty of beauty sleep you were out for a good two hours" she said as Mitch stared down at the strange feline like man wondering just who he was and what his connection was to her bankai training.
