Beginning AN: here it is the next chapter. read and review but flame reviews will be ignored. now on to the story.
Chapter 26: Grunty's Furnace Fun
Banjo stepped on the first tile a banjo kazooie space and received the question.
"In Bubblegloop Swamps giant egg What's not inside you needn't beg?" Grunty asked. "An Extra Life, a smaller egg, or a jigsaw piece?"
"An extra life." Banjo said getting it right and moving on to the next square an eyeball tile where they were shown a picture.
"Do you know what world this picture is?" Gruntilda asked.
"Clanker's Cavern." Kazooie said. Letting them move up to the blank space and then left to a banjo Kazooie space.
"In Click Clock Woods I've no doubt. In which season is there a drought?" Gruntilda asked. "Winter, Summer, or Autumn?"
"Summer." Banjo said letting him move to the next space which was a music note tile that played a sound.
"If This is Heard where would you be?" Gruntilda asked. "Inside the Hornet Hive, Inside the crab shell, or inside the termite tower?
"Inside the Hornet Hive." Kazooie said letting them move to the next tile, a eyeball tile as they were shown a picture.
"Do you know where this picture is?" She asked. "Rusty bucket Bay, Clanker's Cavern, or Grunty's Lair?"
"Clanker's Cavern." Banjo said letting them move to the next banjo Kazooie tile.
"On Mumbo's Mountain in the lake, What's in there make no mistake?" Grunty asked. "A hungry shark, a shoal of fish, or a dirty hippo?"
"A shoal of fish." Banjo said letting them move on to the next tile which had a stop watch and was a time trial where they had 70 seconds to beat the box boss from Rusty Bucket Bay, achieving this with wonder wing and moving on to the next tile which had a picture of Grunty.
"This one is about me what brand of soap do I use?." Grunty asked. "Dove, Ivory, or Zest?"
Banjo and Kazooie just looked at each other not knowing and so guessed Dove, which was luckily correct allowing them to move on pass the blank space to a space with a skull."
"Get this wrong and it is an automatic lose for you." Grunty said showing a picture. Do you know where this is? Mumbo's Mountain, Clanker's Cavern or Gobi's Valley?"
"Gobi's Valley." Banjo said letting them pass on to another Grunty tile.
"This one is about me. What was the first spell I taught Tooty?" Grunth said knowing they wouldn't know. "Lumos, Nox, or Wingardium Leviosa?"
Banjo and Kazooie didn't know, so chose the first one Lumos, getting lucky it was the answer letting them move on to the next banjo Kazooie tile.
"Freezeezy Peak is rather cold, but what does the huge snowman hold?" Grunty asked. "A shovel, a Broom, or a Gameboy?"
"A Broom." Kazooie said letting them pass over the blank space to the next banjo Kazooie tile.
"Clanker's Cavern whale needed air, what did you swim through way don there?" Grunty asked. "A series of hoops, a large key, or the sound barrier?"
"A large key." Banjo said letting them pass on to the next tile a time trial where they had to defeat all the bees in 30 seconds, of course by using wonder wing in place the bees came to them, and they beat it in 8 seconds letting them move on to the next Grunty tile.
"This one is about me. How big is my bathtub," Grunty asked. "Normal size. Fit for a Queen, or Fit for a king?"
They did not know this one either but figured fit for a king is the biggest and went for that getting it right and moving on to the skull tile.
"Get this wrong and it is an automatic lose for you," Grunty said. "Mumbo's Mountain isms thriller. What's the name of the gorilla? Bonga, Conga or Wonga?"
"Conga." Banjo said letting them move to the next Skull space.
"Get this wrong and it is an automatic lose for you." Grunty said showing a picture. "Do you know where this is? Mumbo's Mountain, Treasure Trove Cove, or Gobi's Valley?"
"Gobi's Valley." Banjo said letting them move on to the next banjo and Kazooie space.
"Clanker's Cavern is really stale. How many ways to get in the whale?" Grunty asked. "6, more then 4, or less then 5?"
"More then 4." Kazooie said letting them move past the blank tile to the eyeball tile. Where Grunty showed a picture of Clanker.
"Here's a character. Do you know his name?" Grunty asked. "Clinker, Clanker, or Clunker?"
"Clanker." Banjo said letting them move to the time trial where they had 30 seconds to spell banjo Kazooie backwards on the sandcastle floor in treasure Trove Cove, managing it with one second left. Letting them move on to the banjo Kazooie tile.
"In Rusty Bay you act the clown. Which of these can't you slow down?" Grunty asked. "The spinning fan blades, the rotating propellers, or the turning cogs?"
"The turning cogs." Banjo said letting them move up to the Skull space.
"Get this wrong and it is an automatic lose for you." She said. "On Mumbo's Mountain, surrounded by Sea, There's a Jinjo, what color is he? Green, Black, or Blue?"
"Blue." Kazooie said letting them move to the Grunty space.
"This is about me." Grunty smiled. "What is the name of my familiar? Artemis, Selene, or Brunty?"
Banjo and Kazooie did not know but thought she might have named it after a goddess just for the power of the name and so chose Artemis, letting them move on to the final space. A skull space.
"Final question. Get it right and you win, get it wrong and I win." Grunty smiled showing a picture of green scales. "Where is this from? Grunty's Lair, Bubblegloop Swamp, or Click Clock Wood?"
"Bubblegloop Swamp." Kazooie said recognizing the scales as similar to the ones of the giant alligator in the swamp.
"Aww man. You won." Grunty said not wanting Tooty to leave before smirking.
"Well looks like you get your choice of prizes. You can get Tooty, a stuffed toy version of me or a years supply of high grade bird seed."
"High grade birdseed!" Kazooie yelped looking around for it.
"Right over there." Grunty said pointing to, the pile of bird seed she magicked up. "Of course since you chose that then Tooty stays with me."
With that Grunty picked up Tooty and carried her up the winding stairs nearby leaving Banjo and Kazooie to their bird seed, much to Banjo's dismay as Kazooie started eating.
"Ooh this really is high grade." Kazooie cheered as she fed. "Best I've ever eaten."
after Kazooie got stuffed from eating Banjo punished her by yanking her neck a few times like he does as an idle animation in the game.
Banjo then said "now that you're done goofing off let's chase them to wherever they went."
Kazooie cleared her throat and glared at Banjo for doing that and said "Let's just go and teach old Grunty a lesson."
they go up the stairs and make their way to another Puzzle Board this one has a picture of Gruntilda on her broom above her lair.
they insert all of the missing pieces and enter a room with multiple music note doors and Dingpot in the center of the room.
Dingpot offers to take them to the roof of the Lair and they accept but not before seeing what's behind the music note doors. one had a Gold Feather ammo reload, one had an Egg ammo reload, one had a Red Feather ammo reload and the last one had one last puzzle board on it and it depicted a honeycomb which enhances Banjo & Kazooie's health meter by double in the game but here it'll enhance their defense by double.
they complete the puzzle and are left with just one Jiggy as a souvenir for their adventure. they return to Digpot and jump in.
Dingpot launches them to the Roof of Gruntilda's Lair and the final showdown between Banjo Kazooie and Gruntilda is about to begin.
Ending AN: sure I left it on a cliffhanger but the next chapter will be the finale of the Banjo-Kazooie Arc.
Next Time: the Banjo-Kazooie Arc ends but it'll end differently from the game. here's a hint. Gruntilda will not be knocked off the roof of her lair.
