Title: Rewrite the Stars

Chapter 54

(Spinelli is still at Elizabeth's house looking at footage of the parking lot. He wanted to make sure he didn't miss anything. While Jason was gone, Spinelli looked at the cameras inside the hospital)

(Jason comes in the house and approaches Spinelli)

Jason: "Did you find anything else, Spinelli?"

(Before Spinelli can answer, Jason's cell phone rings. It's Monica)

Jason: "Hi, mom."

Monica: "Did you find anything or hear anything?"

Jason: "With Spinelli's help, I found Elizabeth's necklace next to her SUV in the underground parking lot. He was just about to tell me what else he found."

Monica: (sighs) "I know that Spinelli is helping you out, Jason. He is doing it illegally, though. You could have asked me or my IT people for help."

Jason: "No offense, mom, but Spinelli is faster. I don't give a shit if it's illegal or not. As long as it helps me find my girl. That's all I care about."

Monica: (sighs deeply) "It's your choice in the end. I can't fault you for that. Please keep me updated on everything."

Jason: "Okay, I will."

(Jason ends the call and then focuses on Spinelli)

Jason: "Okay, what else did you find? You made it sound like you did."

Spinelli: "I carefully checked the underground parking lot. The Maternal One's SUV has not moved at all. Her stuff is still there, laying on the ground where she dropped it when she was taken. I looked at the floors of the hospital and nothing really seemed out of the ordinary…except for one thing."

(Jason was fully alert when Spinelli said that)

Jason: (nods) "Go on. What is it?"

Spinelli: "There were two suspicious people pushing a laundry cart with a bunch of towels and bed sheets. They went into the elevator and never came back out until hours later. I don't know what floor they were on when they went into the elevator or where they went. As much as I hate to admit it, the cameras on my laptop aren't the best. The people pushing the laundry cart were wearing scrubs." (gestures) "However, it was the way they were acting and pushing the cart that made me suspicious."

(All of a sudden, there's knock at the front door. Jason goes to answer it and it's Sonny)

Sonny: "How's the search for Elizabeth going? Have you found anything?"

Jason: "Spinelli did, yes."

(Jason updated Sonny before Spinelli speaks again)

Spinelli: "Stonecold, I don't think they are employees at the hospital by the way they are acting. One person looked like a woman from their appearance and build. She also has a dark brown ponytail under the hat she's wearing over her head. It's what doctors and nurses wear on the floor and in the ER on their head so their hair doesn't get in the way. Not to mention she's wearing a mask to cover her face."

Sonny: (nods) "Yep, we know about the that."

Spinelli: (thumbs up) "The other person looked like a guy, judging from their arms and build. But, I have no idea who it is."

(Jason and Sonny both look at the cameras that Spinelli put on pause so they can study the female. After a minute or two, the men face each other)

Sonny: "You DO realize who that looks like, right?"

Jason: (nods) "Yep. But, I'm going to go to Monica and look at the cameras to make sure. If I'm right, I'm going to Dante."

Sonny: (confused) "Didn't you already report Elizabeth's kidnapping?"

Jason: "Yes. But I was told it hasn't been forty-eight hours yet." (scoffs) "That's why I'm taking the law into my own hands, Sonny."

(Sonny understood completely and went to go to update Carly. Spinelli and Jason got into Jason's pickup and went to GH. On the way to GH, Jason calls Monica to let her know he's coming. He needs to look at the hospital cameras. While Monica doesn't mind, she asked what's wrong with Spinelli's laptop? Jason will explain when he's there)

***General Hospital***

(Monica and Jason meet on the fourth floor)

Monica: "Okay. Not that I mind you looking at our cameras, but what's wrong with Spinelli's?"

Jason: "He admitted his are a bit blurry or aren't the best. But, he found something on his side. Mom, with your permission, I'd like to see the cameras with Spinelli."

Monica: "No problem at all. Come with me."

(Jason and Spinelli follow Monica to the IT room where the cameras are at. Monica shuts the door and faces her son while signaling the IT men)

Monica: "They will help you with whatever you need."

(Monica takes Jason to the side a bit)

Monica: (low voice) "What did Spinelli's cameras show, son?"

Jason: (low voice) "Spinelli found something, but I need to be sure before going to the police. Spinelli and I will show you."

Monica: (nods) "Okay."

(Monica goes to her IT staff)

Monica: "Please help them with whatever they need."

IT staff: (nods) "Yes, ma'am."

IT staff: (nods) "Of course."

(Once the cameras are up, Spinelli tells them to look up between 7:30am and 8:30am. As for the location, it was the underground parking lot where Elizabeth's SUV was at. Monica sees Elizabeth is indeed getting out of her vehicle and about to go to work when she is chloroformed from behind. She drops her necklace and is dragged away. Unfortunately, the person who kidnapped her is wearing a disguise, so no one knows who it might be. They are completely covered up from head to toe so Jason curses under his breath that that part is not helping him)

Monica: (tearfully) "Oh, my dear. Elizabeth."

(A little bit later, Spinelli has the IT people go to the second floor he thinks at first is where the suspicious activity is being held at. Sure enough, the laundry cart is being shown by two people pushing it to the elevator)

Monica: (confused) "How come it doesn't show how Elizabeth got into the laundry cart? If she is indeed in it?"

Spinelli: "Unfortunately, Dr. Quartermaine, there aren't enough cameras around the hospital. The cameras missed this part sadly. I was wondering about this, too."

(Monica shakes her head in anger)

Monica: "Please be rest assured, Jason, that I plan to have more cameras installed to have every inch of this hospital shown. I truly thought it was already, Jason. I'm sorry."

Jason: "I know, Mom."

(They focus back on the two people pushing the laundry cart. Monica sees the cameras going around 8:15am and at first wonders who the person on the left is. She quickly realizes while briefly resting her hand over her mouth who it could be)

Monica: "Oh, my god. Is-Is that Sam?"

(The person has a cap and a mask on. But, her dark brown ponytail laying against her neck was obvious)

Jason: "So, I'm NOT the only one who suspected that. Good."

Spinelli: (sighs deeply) "I can't believe Sam would do this to The Maternal One."

Monica: "You need to go to the police, Jason."

Jason: "I plan on it, Mom. But, I needed to be sure. I just don't know who she's working with."

Monica: "Dante and Jordan should at least be aware of the possibility of Sam." (sighs sadly) "I hope it's not her. But if it is, she needs to answer for it."

Jason: "I agree with you. Spinelli and I are going to the police station to talk to Dante and Jordan."

(Monica nods in response. After arriving at the PCPD, Jason sees Dante and approaches the detective)

Dante: (sighs deeply) "Jason, I told you. I want to help you. But I told you. It needs to be 48 hours before it's officially a kidnapping. She could have easily dropped her stuff and went to help someone in need."

(Jason's eyes widen in response before speaking)

Jason: "Are you sure about that? Then be prepared to be wrong. Because not only did Spinelli see her necklace on the ground as a clue, but there's a suspicious video of two people pushing a laundry cart into the elevators and not come out until hours later. Monica saw this too and encouraged me to bring this to your attention."

(Dante stares at Jason for a moment before facing Spinelli)

Dante: "I take it this is on your laptop?"

Spinelli: (nods) "Yes, it is. Granted, the cameras aren't the best. However, you can see what's going on."

Dante: (nods) "Spinelli, please pull up the footage so I can see it."

Spinelli: (nods quickly) "Right away, detective."

(Spinelli pulls out his laptop from his backpack and after a few minutes or so, is able to pull up the footage. He signals Dante and Jason to come to him and points at what to look at)

Spinelli: "Here you go, Detective."

(Dante watches what Jason was clearly trying to explain and what Monica saw before. After watching the whole thing, Dante curses under his breath)

Jason: "Both Monica and I believe the woman in the video is Sam. We don't know who the other person is, though. Spinelli feels it's a man based on their build. I agree. The reason we feel it's Sam? Sam has dark brown hair and so does the woman in the video and she's wearing a ponytail with a cap on. Yes, she may be wearing a cap on to cover the top of her hair. But you can still see her ponytail. Dante, Sam has plenty of motive to take Elizabeth."

(Dante wipes his face and groans a bit)

Dante: "While I see your point, Jason, there's not enough proof that it's Sam. We don't know that it's her because of the mask she's wearing. It really could be anyone."

(Jason shakes his head in anger! How much more damn proof did the fucking detective need? Jason raises his hands to his sides)

Jason: "Dante, come on!"

Dante: (sighs) "Jason, I want to help you. I really do. But, the person is wearing a mask, too, covering their face. We can't prove it's Sam. But, I will tell you what I CAN do for you. I can bring Sam in for questioning. I know you want to find Elizabeth. I do, too. But, we need to go by the book and need evidence. We can't arrest someone based on a theory or suspicious activity."

Jason: "In case it wasn't clear before, I have proof that Elizabeth was kidnapped."

Dante: (nods) "Go on."

Jason: (to Spinelli) "Show Dante what happened around 7:30am."

Spinelli: "Right away."

(Spinelli once again gets out his laptop and shows Dante when the cameras in the underground parking lot has Elizabeth trying to break free from her kidnapper. Dante wipes his face and sighs deeply as he now knows it was officially a kidnapping)

Dante: "You're right, Jason. It's now officially a kidnapping. But, I'm sorry. I can't just arrest Sam without proof."

(Jason just nods in response and leaves the police station with Spinelli following him)

Jason: "We may be on our own, Spinelli."

Spinelli: "Don't worry, Jason. We'll find Elizabeth."

***Underground Sub-Laboratory***

(Elizabeth was attempting to sleep, but was finding it hard to considering she was tied up to a chair. She heard a noise, so she suspected someone was coming. The person was revealed to be Cyrus. He takes the gag off her mouth)

Liz: "I'm surprised you're able to make it down here without being seen. I realized something earlier. Is this the Underground Sub-Laboratory? I've seen pictures of this room a while ago, so I thought it looked familiar when I was first brought here by you."

Cyrus: (smirks) "You should know that old elevator that was thought to be broken years ago I got fixed. It wasn't hard. I'm careful with how often I use it so it's not attracting attention. When I was briefly on the hospital board and I donated to the hospital, I privately had the elevator fixed without anyone knowing."

(Elizabeth didn't know whether to be shocked or not at his revelation)

Liz: "I shouldn't be surprised at what people like you do anymore. You'd think someone at the hospital would've noticed that."

Cyrus: (smugly) "Like I said, Nurse Webber, I'm discreet. Oh, I'm sorry, Baldwin."

Liz: "I'm Webber in every way that counts."

(Cyrus unties her hands to give her a sandwich and a bottle of water)

Cyrus: "I almost forgot to give you this while we were talking."

Liz: (raises her eyebrows) "Is it poisoned?"

Cyrus: "It's not, I assure you. However, it's your choice whether to eat and drink it. Otherwise, you will go hungry and you will be dehydrated. You're a nurse. You know the drill."

(Against her better judgment, she takes the sandwich and water, so she has something in her tummy)

Cyrus: "Don't think about trying to escape because I'm a lot stronger than you. Just a word to the wise."

Liz: (raises her eyebrows) "Trust me. I'm well aware of that fact." (smirks) "So, how did you and Sam get me down here?"

Cyrus: "I never confirmed or denied that I was working with Sam."

Liz: (rolls her eyes) "From all the hints that Sam left, it's obvious, Cyrus. Sam wanted me gone so she could get Jason back even though she knows that Jason and I are together."

Cyrus: (chuckles) "Keep dreaming that it's Sam."

Liz: (smiles) "I know it's her. You don't need to confirm it because she pretty much threatened my life in front of Jason."

Cyrus: (curiously) "Just how well do you and Sam know each other?"

Liz: (chuckles dryly) "How much time do you have? She can't stand me despite me trying to be civil to her. She refuses to be civil back."

Cyrus: "Tell me about Sam. I don't know that much about her."

(Cyrus get comfy in his chair. Elizabeth slightly turns her head and narrows her eyes)

Liz: "I thought you swore up and down that it wasn't her? I don't believe you, though, for the record."

Cyrus: "Did I say it was her? No, I did not. I'm just asking how well you know her."

Liz: (nods) "Oh, I'll tell you all about her. She's not the heroine that she makes herself out to be." (clears her throat) "Here goes."
