Jack flew to the Work Shop, he wanted to talk to Sandy. But no one was there. Walking around, he found their globe. All lights were out, but one in Burgess. Wondering how it still glowed.
"The boy." The child in Burgess, the one whose dog chased after Bunny. Seeing the Guardians together must be one heck of a believe testifier. But he also realized that this may mean Pitch is after him. He wants to smite the Guardians, so why not smite their source of power? Like an arrow, he shot into the air, back to Burgess.
He found the boys house with ease. Standing in front of him, he has no idea what comes now. Should he protect Jamie? Should he try to find the guardians? But they would be weakened by now? By the moon, how long was he in these healing pools? He can't communicate with Jamie. He doesn't believe in him. But dogs sense spirits.
Jamie was sitting on his bed, the dog on the foot end. Jack pet the canine, which he reacted to.
"Abby? Is something wrong?", asked Jamie his Greyhound. His sister Sophie then walked in.
"She likes the boy petting her.", she said, pointing to Jack. Said spirit was dumbfounded. Does she believe in him? "Can't you see him?"
He thought it would explain how he interacted with her in the warren and how he was able to carry her.
"Sophie, my name is Jack Frost. Your brother can't see me, if he doesn't believe in me.", he said.
"The boy, Jack, says you can't see him if you don't believe in him.", she repeated. "He looks weird, he has white hair."
"Hey!"
"So, like the Guardians?", he asked. Well, he isn't wrong.
"Yeah!"
Jamie followed Sophie's and Abby's eyes.
"Sophie... describe him to me."
"He is tall, as tall as our cousin Lucas, white hair. He is pale like Aunt Emmy and barefoot.", said Sophie, "He has blue eyes and wears a blue hoodie. His hoodie looks frozen." Well, it is frozen.
"Frozen?", repeated Jamie.
Jack then froze his window, writing, 'Yes, long story.'
Jamie blinked, and there he was, Jack Frost.
"I see him now."
"Good, we need to talk.", said Jack.
"Wait, really?"
"Yes. Remember the Guardians? Well, they are in trouble." Jack explained in a compact way what had happened. He explained Pitch's attempt at smiting the guardians, his cooperation with them. "I don't know where they are, or what to do now. I just know I need to keep your lights going."
"If this Pitch is real, how can he be beaten?", asked Jamie worried.
"Besides that he already had been beaten and is weakened greatly by Mother Nature?", he countered, "The guardians may be compromised, but what they represent is still here."
"Like what?", asked Sophie.
"Well..." What did the tsar say? "Tooth's memories, remember how life is without fear, the great parts of life. Sandy's dreams let you rest from them. Bunny's hope, something to give you the will to endure the fear, if you allow Pitch to harm you. He was beaten twice, he can be beaten trice. North's wonder, just replace the feeling of fear with something else."
"Like?"
"My fun!" He sprinkled his playful magic around. The kids started to laugh when making contact with the magic. "Have fun and ignore the fear." That's what saved Piper, after all.
They heard Abby bark. Then a crashing sound. Abby was looking out the window and barking at what she saw. The siblings and Jack looked out as well.
Jamie looked to him and said mockingly, "And you can't find them?" The guardians just crash landed on the outside. "Sophie, you stay in here. Have Abby with you."
"Okay!"
"No, Jamie, you stay here as well.", demanded Jack. "Don't play hero, kid."
Jack walked out, approaching the the guardians. Jack was unsure, the last time he saw them Bunny wanted to attack him. Albeit Sandy did tell him he didn't believe the stuff Bunny said. When they saw Jack and Jamie, Toothiana zoomed to Jack.
"Jack! I-I realized you really have no teeth!", she said frantically. "I don't get it, how-"
"Calm down, Tooth. I regained my memories. I explain later how.", he said, "Now we need to handle Pitch-"
"Wait a minute, you speak!", interrupted him North.
"Yeah. Turns out, after regaining my memories, that mental blockade just crumbled.", he said. "Now, what do we do about Pitch?"
"Isn't he in Emily's prison?", asked Toothiana worried.
"He escaped. And no, Bunny, I can't sense him or his nightmares.", explained Jack. "I have no idea where he is."
"Just turn around and you see me, Jack, son."
There he was, Pitch Black in his dark glory. Jack fastened his grip on his staff, before spreading ice over it, making the upper part into a scythe blade. The guardians also readied their weapons.
So were Aurelie and Whitaker, when Aurora and Sapphire appeared. Accompanied by Mother Nature.
"You four, keep out of this until I tell you.", she demanded from them. She messaged Queen Aurore, borrowing them. Aurore was annoyed that all her competent spirits were unavailable, that no one was running winter, but she couldn't tell Mother Nature that. So Aurore decided to do it herself – with the assistance of the twins - and gave her spot to Yue temporarily. "Pitch Black!", she yelled, her voice accompanied by a lightning bolt and thunder.
"Oh, hello Lady Nature!", greeted Pitch Emily. "I am just here to take back what is mine."
"What does he mean?", asked North.
"Pitch is trying to turn Jackson into a Prince of Darkness.", informed them Emily Jane. "Keep Jack away from him!" The four winters took this as their sign and swooped in, fetching Jack Frost away from Pitch's reach.
Pitch took aim for the four spirits with his arrows. Aurelie conjured her ice golf club and smashed two arrows while Aurora redirected the other two into a tree with her fans. They let go of Jack, who was now carried by the wind.
Before Pitch could take another shot, he finds himself in Emily's roots and vines. They bat him against the ground, before he is held upside down in front of Emily.
"Winter spirits, may you freeze him? I would like that he doesn't escape this time around.", commanded Emily. The five nod and charged up their magic, before freezing Pitch solid. "Thank you."
"B-But we need to-"
"End my father?", interrupted Emily the Tooth Fairy, "It didn't work the last time, Toothiana. And I want to try something in Pitch."
"That being?", asked Bunny skeptical.
"I think she wants to turn Pitch back into his old self, Kozmotis.", explained Jack. Emily confirmed with a nod.
"I know you will be against it, but I don't care. We'll bring him to my palace. Uncle Sandy, Jack, I think I may need your help. Oh, and I'll need one of Toothiana's empty tooth boxes.", commanded Emily Jane.
"Are we gonna ignore that Frost just spoke and that Mother Nature asked for his help?", chimed Whitaker in. "What is going on this last week?"
"You four and the Guardians, come with us.", said Mother Nature. "I need to explain a few things. Whitaker, you will get your answers."
Emily then opened a portal to her domain. Aurora and Aurelie moved Pitch's frozen form. Pitch was carried into a prison cell. Emily then guided them to her study. It was more akin to a library. The walls lined with massive book shelves being one reason. The other spirits sat on the couches, chairs and the floor when Emily started her explanation.
Emily started her tale by explaining the golden age to the four winters, how her father became Pitch Black, how they came to Earth and that Pitch killed her brother. "Apparently Tsar Lunar reincarnated Jackson from a Nightlight to a spirit."
"Actually, I was reincarnated as a human, then died and became a spirit.", corrected Jack.
The four winters were surprised by this, so where the guardians. Sandy flew to Jack and hugged him. 'This explains why you reminded me of my nephew, you are my nephew!'
"Does that mean you died thrice?", asked Whitaker. "No wonder the Deathlings like you..."
"It means he is Mother Nature's brother!", stated Aurora. "That makes the shunning worse."
"I did not mean to shun Jackson. I didn't expect that to happen!", said Emily. "Looks like I will need to announce that Jack isn't shunned. And that Aurore gives him his wings back."
"Okay, what about Pitch?", asked Bunny. "I don't like that he is just a frozen Popsicle in your basement."
"I want to reform him, break him free from the Darkness.", explained Emily. "I have an idea, but I need my uncle and Jack for it."
"And that crazy idea of yours is?", asked Toothiana.
"When father first turned, his eyes were pure silver. After he killed Jackson, parts of his iris became gold again. Part of father snapped out of the Darkness and regained control.", she explained. "I think we need to snap him out fully. Our magical prowess in case something goes wrong. Or if he tries to turn Jack."
"What do you need my container for?", asked Toothiana.
"I want to show his old memories to crack the Darkness' hypnosis.", she said. "But we need a tooth from father."
Sandy gestured he would be happy to punch out one of the teeth.
"Uncle, let me punch him. To make it even.", said Jack. "He punched me to get a tooth." He pointed to his tooth gap. "This is also how I got my memories back."
"Jack, no. He'll try to turn you. We let our uncle do it.", said Emily.
"Fine."
A messenger bird came, the sparrow landed on Emily's shoulder.
"A message from Aurore. Aurelie and Aurora, she demands you to return. Whitaker, Sapphire, you will be in my service for a bit longer.", explained Emily, "I need you to unfreeze and freeze my father."
Aurelie and Aurora said their farewells and left the palace, back to the Arctic.
"And us?", asked North.
"I would prefer if you stop butting into my family business.", said Emily. Her roots appeared and pushed Toothiana, Bunny and North out of there. "And us, we go to the cells. Jack, you help with the freezing. Oh, and Toothiana, your fairy Baby Tooth will be needed as well." Said fairy flew to Jack.
The group of five walked down the palace into the prison cells. Most of them are empty. Many weren't needed, which allowed some of these to be quite big. Perfect for stuffing them with security systems like Emily's bondage roots and vines.
Jack felt still euphoric to walk though this building without being chased out. He hopes this gets finished fast, he wants his wings back. He isn't sure if he wants his father back, though. He knows the Darkness made him do these things, but he is still the one who had done them.
In the cell, Whitaker and Sapphire melted the ice. Pitch fell to the ground, his body needing to adapt to the sudden change in temperature. He then was wrapped in roots again.
"What now?", he asked.
"Payback.", said Jack.
Pitch then felt Sandy's fist making contact with his face. Emily took the tooth he lost and put it in a box. The roots let go of one of Pitch arms and Emily made him touch the box. Baby Tooth then activated it. He then saw his live as Kozmotis Pitchier passing in front of his eyes, until the Darkness took over.
After they ended, Emily loosened the roots.
"Father?", she asked.
