As Joe Sparrow led the girls all the way to the bustling and vast beautiful city of Newtopia, so did the very fast snail Toadella and her crew led with the captured thieves in the back. Graham, Growl and Grin were busy napping on the way to the city as Mikayla and Luna in chains cried, knowing their sentence wasn't likely to be pleasant.
Luna sobbed "I KNEW this was a HORRIBLE idea and yet I roped you all into it anyway? Since my last raids were so successful, I just got too greedy and now...sigh..." her mascara was running down her face as she cried while her hands held her face.
Mikayla soothed her bestie with "We ARE awesome, we ARE unstoppable, this is just a trial, a thing we must overcome, it ain't your fault sis" her tail waggled as she nuzzled her cheek.
Luna cried "You're right sis you're right. But its just...what would he think...oh nevermind. I'm sleepy from all the crying I've done..." too tired to talk much.
Mikayla comforted her with "If you feel the need to sleep please sleep sis. You're amazing at what you do, so don't feel sad sis. Should I sing you a lullaby?" she giggled
Luna cried a little more as Mikayla sang the lullaby her dad used to sing to her as a little girl and she nuzzled her as far as she could reach before both girls went to sleep.
Luna fell into a deep slumber, her chained body still as her mind turned back to all those years ago. Back when she was just a young, sweet eft, unknowing of how sad things could be.
Her daddy, a large beefy red toad, scarred with many years of battle experience, held her in his strong arms singing to her her favorite lullaby as she smiled. Luna was the light of his life, like the moon on a cold, dark night. Luna chirped a sweet "I love you daddy even if these days I don't see you that often. Whens the next time you're coming home?"
The red toad solemly told her flat out "Sweetheart, I have to make a big grown up desicion my baby. Its hard but grown ups have to do these all the time. Daddy does grown up things to feed you and help him but other people don't like them so they don't like me." his face serious but trying not to look upset. He had to stay strong for his baby girl.
Luna gasped "Why wouldn't anybody like you Daddy? You're my hero and I don't care what others have to think!" she stuck her tongue out in annoyance which softened the mood a little.
Her dad, "Plently of big scary grown ups have it out for me, like that scary lady that eats toads for lunch! Shes my mortal enemy and she wants me gone no matter what it takes!"
Luna's eyes widened "No way THAT lady! She sounds so scary! I bet she ate her parents! But you're big and strong daddy, you're so big she won't even scratch you!"
Luna's dad's didn't break away from its solemn look as he replied "Maybe in my prime she'd be harmless, but I'm getting old sweetheart. THIS fight could be my very last"
Luna begged "No don't say that! Please daddy, just surrender so you don't have to fight her!"
Luna's dad looked sad but he spoke up with "No, surrendering goes against toad culture, you'd get put to sleep forever for cowardice. All fights are fought, no exceptions, sweetie"
Luna looked sad as her dad stroked her hair and soothed her.
Her dad took a look into her big maroon eyes as he told her "Oh sweetheart, don't cry my baby, my dear I'm so sorry I had to burden you with my grown up problems,so this breaks my heart but I have to send you away sweetie where those big scary grown ups can't hurt you"
Luna's dad pulled her into one last big hug before placing her in the arms of one of her nannys that prepared to run her away under the cover of the night as he solemly whispered to Luna "Sweetheart, Daddy's not coming home"
This was the last time Luna ever saw him again before she and her nanny cradled his dead body in daylight after a hopeless but drawn out final battle, his very last.
Luna sobbed "Why daddy why did he have to leave me? Did he stop loving me?" her nanny the only other person she was close too, a female blue toad named Ester soothed her and hugged her as she whispered "He will ALWAYS love you baby, but he left because life is unfair and hard. My daddy left me too baby. Life is only fun for the strongest while the rest of us have to suffer. This isn't your fault darling"
Luna woke up as the carriage finally arrived in Newtopia's palace, half awake mumbling about her dad as the boys and Mikayla awakened next to her, groggy and annoyed at the bright moonlight and happy citizens enjoying their nightlife in the city and minding their own buisness. The city never slept. It was like the happy world was laughing at their bad time.
Finally the carriage opened up as Toadella carried the chained up prisoners and bowed when she delivered them to Newtopia's loyal ranger Marcy and her momma the Great General Yunan alongside Josephine, Spike and the girls.
Marcy chirped while petting Joe Sparrow and calling him a good boy "Alright we made it on time approximatly 1 hour like I correctly predicted at that speed! Awesome! And those prisoners didn't even attempt an escape as the metal chains would stop their movement! This is amazing!" She purred happily as she high fived her BFF Josie and momma Yunan. Luna scowled at her chipper attitude and glared at the cheetah girl.
Josie said "Oh Newtopia what you do to us!" Marcy replied with "I know right? Newtopia is the most gorgeous city ever! I can't wait to hang out and check out the city and introduce you to the king and go on crazy epic adventures together as duel rangers and so much more! I love it here! I have so many ideas!"
Josie said "Spending time here with you and the girls will be so much fun! I can't wait!"
Marcy said to her with a hug "NO KIDDING we are gonna spend so much time together, and your friends can tag along too! C'mon lemme race you around the city!" Marcy shifted into her green cheetah form and Josie shifted alongside her into her fuchsia cat form as they speedily ran around the city as their friends tried to catch up with them.
They ran around until they reached the back alleys and then went back to their starting point, Josie winning by 1.25 seconds. Both girls were panting and tired but had a lot of fun as they unshifted back to their humanoid forms.
Josie said "I win! Heheheheheh!" and smiled with a huge toothy grin on her face as she beamed with pride.
Marcy replied with "Yeah you did, man you know how to run! whew! You beat me by 1.25 seconds! I'll beat you next time though!" she was disaapointed she lost the race but Josie was amazing and staminous in her own right so it made sense she would win, even if it was only by a little bit. "Ohhhh well! Hahahahhaha! Even if I lost the race, that was still so much fun!" she chirped happily.
Jessica called out "Hey wait up for us!" Exhausted and a little annoyed at how they ran off without telling them.
Katrina scolded her with "I had to use a teleportation spell just to keep up with you rambucious girls! Slow down!" Katrina frowned.
Evelyn chirped "That was kinda fun though!" Evelyn craved any excuse just to run around and stretch her little hyperactive froggy legs. Night time wasn't gonna slow her down.
Amanda said "Yeah but my joints ache! What a workout!" She wasn't elderly but the years were starting to catch up to her.
Spike nuzzled the girls and he chirped happily as the girls petted his ears and cheeks and he barked happily.
Yunan gave Marcy a HUGE high five and bantered "That was hardly anything my little Marsh-mellow, they are just slowpokes! You didn't do anything wrong!" she lovingly teased and Marcy replied "Yeah I know, but they're cool though!" Yunan thumbs up for her beloved Marcy and hugged her while wrapping her tail around her. Yunan stared at the girls and said "Also shes MY Marcy My sweet little furry eft so nobody else can have her! Back off!" Amanda looked away in confusion as Jessica looked a bit annoyed at her Aunt but said nothing.
Joe Sparrow just chirped for his master Marcy and Marcy gave him a big hug as he wrapped his wings around her smaller body. "You're a sweetheart Joe, I wouldn't know what I'd do without you" and he beamed with pride and saluted her with his wings. "So patriotic too!" Marcy gasped and she smiled. What an intelligent and loyal birdie!
Marcy then said "Oh wait a minute! Josie Josie, we MUST go and meet the king in the morning,he is so sweet, kind, understanding, listens to you, cool, gave me everything I'm grateful for! he is a big gentle giant!"
Marcy whispered under her breath "Much more understanding than my stupid home dad cough cough" but Josie pretended she heard nothing as she didnt wish to pry in what wasn't her buisness.
Marcy continued with "He is the coolest sweetest king ever, he is like the wise old mentor from my favorite video game, the one we played together all night!"
Josie said "Yeah I remember him, he was one of my favorite characters, but I had to ask for help as I got stuck on one of the chapters! It was haaaard you made it look soooo easy!"
Marcy said "Yeah...Maybe choosing Maniac Mode was my fault for a first time but that chapter also got me pressed too to be fair...Oh well thats water underneath the bridge now right? Yeah still the King is like if that guy was transformed into a Newt with like a spell or something, you simply just HAVE to meet him! PLEASE!"
Josie said "He sounds like such a sweetheart, why not?" Marcy said "YES!" and they jumped up and down as the girls watched and smiled. They had not mutch energy but they did it anyways.
Josie said "Anyways, I'm kinda sleepy right now, are there any places we can stay?" she let out a huge yawn without meaning too.
Marcy said "Yeah me too but I was so in the Zone I forgot I was sleepy! The King has many spare rooms in the palace, I'll take you and your girls there!" Marcy didn't care about the yawn.
Katrina prepared another teleportation spell as the girls shifted again to get there quicker in feline form. Katrina's magic has improved a lot!
Olivia let Marcy in confused at these strangers and asked Marcy "Marcy darling I thought I told you you musnt talk to strangers they could hurt you!" as Marcy whispered "Trust them momma they're the legendary Josephine" Olivia said "Oh where are my manners, how could I distrust such a hero? Lead the way for them" and Marcy led Josie to a spare, empty room with conventely had 6 beds and a pet bed too. Josie didn't say another word as the exhausted girls curled up into their beds. Marcy looked dissapointed as she wanted to have an all night sleepover with the girls but maybe that could be for another time she supposed as she went to her own seperate room to catch some shut eye. Tommorrow was gonna be amazing and she knew it! All the wait was worth it.
Toadella led the boys, Luna and Mikayla in chains, trapping them and conviscated their items, bags, weapons and stolen steeds, a muzzled and chained scorpileo with a pink spiked collar and a growling dark black snail with a black collar. Even their pets were mean and vicious like their horrible owners! Toadella scowlled at the crooks and glared at the gloomy prisoners.
Toadella and her crew led the prisoners to the dungeons and locked them up in the prison cells, their pets would be schedueled to be either sent to a fancy zoo in the city, a tourist area for wildlife lovers who find deadly beasts fascinating or released into mother nature's arms to run wild and free as she intended.
Toadella shouted as she threw them into their cage "And stay there where you belong!" and Toadella walked out as the rest of her crew were assigned to watch over the prisoners that night. Luna growled at her but didn't do anything else. Mikayla grumbled under her breath "Goody little two shoes, she makes me sick!" Mikayla growled as her ears went up in anger like fire smoked out of her ears.
Luna grumbled back "No kidding. Who the heck does she think she is anyways? She thinks shes great but really shes just one of the King's slaves but a slave too dumb to be sad about it!" Luna never liked Toadella and promised when she became Queen after offing the old jerk she would be next on her chopping block list.
Mikayla grumbled back "Yeah tell me about it, Shes always so chipper, like what does she have to be happy and cheerful about anyway? Her brains must be made of mushy peas or something! EW!" Mikayla rolled her eyes at overly happy people reminding her of the naive person she used to be.
Luna replied with "Yeah, totally. Like what the heck is wrong with her? I hate dumb happy people who don't understand how awful there lives really are, she will never understand that everyone just views her as a servant, a convienient moron who does as shes told like a pet that can speak or something! Nobody truely like respects her! Like get into a fight or something sheesh! Do something with your life that isn't being one of the royalty's suck ups!" clenching her fists with anger until they turned white as she gritted her teeth so hard she almost bit off her tongue.
Mikayla replied to her rant with "True but dumb people like her never learn! Why waste our time on those freaks? When we go after them, well Good riddance to them I'll say!" baring her sharp fangs and glaring in annoyance at her most hated foes.
Grin, Graham and Growl listened to their ranting in agreement and wished they could chop off their heads too! Down with the king and any of his followers! This world belonged to them, Mikayla and Luna, the only people who deserve it! Anyone else just didn't matter! Who cares about them?
Next to the boys and Luna and Mikayla were their cellmate, another female Newt eavedropped on their conversation, intrigued at what she considered so unlikely. SHE was here, the lethal, the unstoppable menace, the shadow that haunts the towns and destroys all in her path!? and her cell was exactly next to hers!? No way she thought that girl was a goner that long time ago! She's still alive?
Nyx the female newt, was a dark blue newt with dark black hair that had purple streaks in them. Her face has black freckles on her cheeks. Her body was tall and slim but toned as well. She wore a black long leather jacket with short sleeves and spikes on them. She wore a black starry mini dress with dark grey tights underneath that had stylishly applied rips on them. Her mini dress had a dark blue belt that had a secret compartment for picking locks and keeping small knives if her bigger ones got taken away from her. She wore long fingerless black gloves that went up to near her shoulders. She wore a large leather purple necklace around her neck that had a skull on it. She wore smoky black eye shadow around her eyes and a black spiked headband. She wore knee length black boots with stars on them.
Luna whispered to her cell neighbour with a slight growl "Hey, I see you over there, state your buisness!...Wait a minute...Nyx are you there? Girl is that YOU?"
Nyx chirped "Yeah its me! Girl whats up? Where ya been all this time? And whose that new furry creature over there, is she a pet or?"
Luna firmly replied with a fierce "SHE'S my new SISTER and she's AWESOME, you respect HER or you're not my girl"
Nyx replied, her mood a bit dampered but she'd get over it, with "Okay okay, sheesh, I get the picture. Fine shes a cool sister ain't she?"
Mikayla said "I am! She adores me!" she smiled
Nyx said "No kidding" as she turned to Luna "So where ya been this whole time anyways?"
Luna growled "Plotting payback time and looting fools, yknow the usual!"
Nyx chuckled "Thats always good to hear, especially with your trademark good mood and big smiles plastered on your face as always"
Luna smiled "You and your sense of humour never fails to make me smile, admittingly. We were so close to overrunning and mauling the entire town but that BRAT Josephine, perfect, adorable wittle Josephine who is loooooved by everyone who ever existed interferred when we looted some stupid lame party and now I got locked up by some girl who calls herself a ranger and...HER!" She growled.
Nyx cocked her head and asked "Wow really? I heard rumours of that Josephine girl but I thought it was just rumours! Sucks the rumours were true! Wait...Ranger girl? You mean Marcy Wu, head ranger? Who stopped that weird cult or something. Never liked those guys to be honest"
Luna smirked "Yeah no kidding, those guys were a bunch of weirdos! Good riddance to them! I was planning on offing them anyway!"
Nyx asked "But wait, who is HER? What did you mean by HER?" Nyx could be so curious sometimes.
Luna's fists clenched with anger just thinking about HER! "That...General...you know the one"
Nyx gasped and replied with "OH YEAH, HERRRR! Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear that! Man, talk about being unlucky! That sucks girl, that sucks! Very sorry to hear about HER giving you trouble! HA! I wouldn't want to be on the recieving end of her blades if you ask me, you're very lucky you survived! Not everyone is lucky"
Luna looked sad knowing what she meant as she asked "Are you still mad at me for that? Your brothers-"
Nyx interrupted her with "No I'm not angry at that, my brother sacrificed himself during that loot so we could escape her wrath! He would be proud you lived on! I don't blame you for it sweetheart!"
Luna stated "But we haven't seen each other in like a year or something!"
Nyx said "Thats because I got caught up with other things, relax it has nothing to do with that girl!"
Luna solemly said "That makes sense I suppose."
Nyx chuckled "Don't think about the past sweetheart, focus on the present day. Now look, do you want me to free you and your friends or not?"
Luna growled back "Hey don't give me attitude! But yes I would. I can't help but be trapped here sadly. I can only tolerate help because its you I suppose."
Nyx chuckled and whispered "Sweetheart, I wouldn't judge you even if you slaughtered everyone I loved and stole all my stuff. Now relax and let me pick the locks"
She chuckled as she knew with her secret picks, being captured wouldn't last forever. Freedom was theirs!
Pamela and Sandra were chilling with their new BFF Anne, as well as their new family members.
Anne said "Huh, this town seems to have warmed up to you girls a lot faster than expected, phew."
Sprig asked "As wartwoods new king I need to ask why were you in a musty stinky cave anyway? You were so dirty and bruised, I mean who hurt you?"
Pamela whispered "Ummm...we were in a cave because we ran away from nasty people. When I arrived in here, people in a different town said they would take care of me but when I reached out for food, they chained me to the center of the town and made me do tricks. When I refused, they threw rocks at me and called me an animal and a demon and chased me out of town because I didn't want to be treated like a pet"
Maddie frowned and with a wicked grin said "If I ever find them I will give those jerks the most NASTY hex I can get my hands on! They will be SOOOO sorry they ever hurt you!"
Pamela said "I know, you're the coolest witch ever! So sweet when I get to know you!" and they hugged each other.
Sandra said "This family of bullfrogs promised they would take care of me but they tried to EAT ME! It was a lie and I had to fight for my life to escape!"
Ivy said to Sandra "You almost got eaten by CANNIBALS! HOW dare they! I WILL BEAT UP THOSE NASTY JERKS for you! When I ambush them, this time IT WILL HURT!" she growled and punched a tree.
Sandra said "I know you would sib, I know"
Anne said "Thats rough can't believe that happened, but when we're here that won't ever happen again!"
