I do not own RWBY or Pokemon.

A week has passed since professor Samuel took in Jaune Arc under his care. Since then, the young man from Beacon has been doing his absolute best to repay the professor for his kindness by sort of being his research assistant.

Jaune would do things around the lab like feeding the Pokemon, cleaning up after the Pokemon, and make sure all the Pokemon in the ranch are behaving. It was a tough job, Jaune was not going to lie, but at the end of the day he felt a calm content with everything as for the first time in a very long time, he felt like he was truly useful to something.

"Phew... professor Oak, I finished feeding all the Pokemon."said Jaune as he returned back to the lab.

"Good job, Jaune. I can't tell you how grateful I am to have another research assistant helping me maintain the Pokemon under my care."said the professor, as he was looking over some documents.

"What are you looking at, professor?"inquired the teen blonde, wondering what his caretaker was doing.

"I'm just finishing some work with the Pokemon League in order to get you registered as a Pokemon trainer."responded the professor.

"...What...?"was all Jaune Arc could say.

"I've noticed that you seem to have talent with pokémon that I haven't seen in quite some time. In fact, tomorrow a lot of aspiring Pokemon trainers from here in Pallet Town are going to be going on their official Pokemon Journey, and I figured you should join them."responded the professor to the young man's question.

"But why me? I'm sure there's other assistants out here more qualified than me."said Jaune, wondering why he specifically was chosen.

"Even the others agree that you have a lot of talents when it comes to taking care of Pokemon. You have this aura about you that seems to get Pokemon to trust you, and I wouldn't be able to call him myself a Pokemon professor if I just let that talent go on untouched."responded to the professor.

"I... I guess I should feel honored about all of this, but I'm not sure if I want to go on a Pokemon Journey."admitted the young man.

"Well think about it like this. Mew is the one who brought you to this world, and it's not like you going to find the mythical Pokemon just sitting here in my lab. I believe going on a Pokemon journey is the best way to find a way back home, Jaune."said professor Oak, something Jaune couldn't argue with.

It was true that he couldn't exactly expect the mythical Pokemon known as Mew to come around Pallet Town anytime soon. In fact, he had a feeling that this was the reason the mythical Pokemon brought him here in the first place. Of course it didn't make much sense to Jaune, but since when do all powerful beings make sense...

"Well... I got nothing better to do when I can't be here my whole life... Okay, I'll definitely go on a Pokemon Journey as I need to find a way back home to my friends!"said Jaune, who knew that his friends, specifically Ruby and Pyrrha must be worried about him.

"Excellent, and I have just the perfect Pokemon for you to start your journey with."said the professor, confusing the young man.

"I thought the Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle had already been assigned to respective Pokemon trainers. I believe your grandson chose the Squirtle we currently have in our possession."said Jaune, wondering what the professor was talking about.

"I'm not talking about those Pokemon. I'm talking about the Pokemon who's been watching you the last week."said professor Oak, confusing his young research assistant.

"Huh?"was all Jaune Arc could say to that.

"I'm not surprised you didn't notice. But there's been a Pikachu that's been watching you the last several days. At first I thought it was a coincidence, but now I'm a hundred percent certain that that Pikachu had came to this lab to look at you."said professor Oak, pointing over to a nearby window where a Pikachu could be seen.

"Wait...That mouse pokémon has been watching me for a week?"asked Jaune, wondering how he didn't notice a Pikachu had been following him the last several days.

"Hehehe, it's nothing to be ashamed of. That Pikachu is quite the sneaky one, so I'm not surprised you didn't notice his presence."respond to the professor.

"His?"asked Jaune, as most pokemon couldn't be held apart unless they were scanned by a pokedex.

"Pikachu have a unique feature in their tail where males have lightning bolts shaped tails while females have a lightning bolt shaped tail that ends with a heart shape at the end. That Pikachu in question has a normal lightning shaped tail so he's a male."answered the professor.

"Ohhh..."said Jaune, realizing that he got a better look that the Pikachu looking at him was indeed male.

"Now how about we go on site and try to catch you that Pikachu."said the professor, before he and Jaune made their way outside so they could catch the Pikachu in question.

Once they got outside they saw the male Pikachu that had been watching Jaune approach them.

"Should I battle him?"inquired Jaune, wondering if he should battle the Pikachu that had been practically stalking him the last several days.

"Jaune, you don't have a Pokemon to battle with. And I wouldn't recommend trying to go hand to hand with a Pikachu, considering this little guy is packing a large amount of electricity."said professor Oak, who wouldn't recommend fighting a Pikachu hand-to-hand.

"Huh, I guess you do have a point, professor. Then what should I do?."said Jaune, before the professor handed him a Pokemon.

"Really Professor? I mean, it's not like I'm just going to toss this pokeball on that Pikachu's immediately going to get caught."said Jaune, who for fun just through the pokeball.

What happened next was something completely unexpected.

The Pikachu immediately jumped into the air and let himself get captured! He literally hit the pokeball with his tail and opened it up so he could be absorbed inside! A few seconds later, the pokeball fell to the floor and closed itself shut, before it began wiggling.

A few seconds past before the wiggling stopped and a click sound was heard, indicating that the mouse pokémon had been successfully captured!

"What?"was all Jaune could say to the situation at hand, as how in a million years would a Pikachu allow himself to willingly get captured like that...?

"I guess that Pikachu really wanted to be your Pokemon."responded to professor with a chuckle.

Jaune didn't say anything as he immediately picked up the pokeball containing the mouse Pokemon.

"...Well I guess I just caught a Pikachu!"said Jaune, before he held the pokémon high up in the air.

A few seconds later the Pikachu in question came out of the pokeball.

"Huh?"said Jaune, before the Pikachu got on his shoulders.

"I guess this is a Pikachu that doesn't like being in its pokeball. And prefers to be on his new trainer's shoulders."theorized the professor.

"Is that correct?"asked Jaune directly to Pikachu, who just nodded his head in agreement.

"Huh? I guess there's as many different personalities with Pokemon as there are with people."said Jaune, who had a feeling he was going to encounter more strange Pokemon on his journey.

"Now that you officially have a Pokemon. Why don't you spend the day getting to know one another as tomorrow you have a big Journey, since you will be starting out along with Red, Gary, and Green."said professor Oak, reminding Jaune of the three aspiring pokémon trainers that would be leaving for their Pokemon journeys tomorrow.

"Oh yeah... Gary..."said Jaune, someone he was not very fond of for obvious reasons.

"I know my grandson has that attitude problem of his, so I understand why you're not too fond of going on a journey with him. But worry not, each and every single one of you is going to go on a different path. Shere that path will lead you with anyone's guess."said the professor, making it clear he didn't expect the Pokemon trainers to stick together.

"Okay then."said Jaune, who was glad you didn't have to be stuck with the areas the two did not like each other.

"Pika Pika."said Pikachu before his stomach began grumbling.

"I guess it is around lunch time and I didn't feed you with the rest of the Pokemon. Let's go inside and I'll give you some nice berries."said Jaune, making the Pikachu on his shoulder let out a happy sound.

"Pika!"said Pikachu with excitement.

"I'll take that as a yes."said Jaune, before he headed inside with the professor and Pikachu so that he could give the mouse Pokemon some lunch.

Unknown to Jaune and Pikachu, they were being watched far away by none other than Mew.

"Looks like Jaune managed to make a starter Pokemon out of that special Pikachu. Now let's see how those two handle one another on their Journey, where they'll eventually run into Team Rocket..."said the mythical psychic type Pokemon, before he teleported himself away to who knows where.

Jaune and Pikachu on the other hand we're taking the chance to get to know one another by having lunch with one another.

Both ignorant to what destiny had in store for them!

Jaune's Team

Pikachu (Male)

Next chapter, Jaune and Pikachu will officially go on their Journey.

Do any of you have any suggestions for the team?

Remember, it can only be one of the original 151 OG Pokemon!

I won't accept anything else!

That is all I had to say!

I'm General Jaguar, and I am out of here!
