Summary
"How is it that everyone is somehow either related to an Avenger or knows one besides me?!" Amy groused.
Hitchcock and Scully opened their mouths but quickly shut them at the kick Diaz gave them, groaning instead.
"What the heck man?!"
Amy's anger was really attractive Jake thought as he watched her start ranting about the statistics of the impossibility of it all.
"So Captain who are you going to bring to the next annual 'Bring someone to work day?' Boyle asked weakly as Holt strolled into the break room.
Chapter One Shot
For once, everyone or almost everyone was cramped into the break room for lunch. Holt, the lucky guy got to skip the awkwardness of almost ten people around the table, couch and other perching places while hunched over a little to eat properly.
"Well I for one, can't wait to show off my uncle!" Hitchcock said to the confusion of everyone but Scully who answered with his mouth full.
"He's my uncle, we just adopted you. Kind of. Or was it the other way around?" Scully wondered.
"You're bring a corpse to work?!" Amy asked, disgusted. Diaz on the other hand looked slightly interested.
"Heck no, that uncle is buried, I'm talking about my great-great or just one great uncle on my mother or father's side or something. Somewhat distant but not distant relative. It's amazing what DNA testing came do. My daughter wanted to do family geology and so here we are. I can't wait until tomorrow."
Amy's eyes lit up then dimmed. "I couldn't find anyone who I could bring to the 'Bring someone to work day. Captain Holt said I couldn't bring my mom again, and he refused to let my dad back in after what happened last time."
Everyone winced but for Hitchcock and Scully. That one was for the books.
"I'm bringing my grandma. She needs to get out of the house." Jake announced. Gina gave him a confused look. She had met Jake's grandma and she usually got out of the house just fine.
Jake noticed her confusion and explained it was his other grandma, the recluse, and briefly wondered how Gina got into the break room.
Adrian Peralita, who somehow still hung out with them once in a while, said he was bringing his great uncle. Terry was bringing his distant cousin, and Rosa turned heads when she mentioned she was bringing a old colleague. A female colleague that she kissed once, for undercover reasons. Everyone gave her sceptical looks only because of the undercover reasons.
Boyle tossed out, "I was going to bring my cooking buddy, but he already had an engagement. So I'm with Amy and Gina who decided not to bring anyone. The lonesome trio."
'So it's going to be all old people huh? This is going to be fun.' Amy sighed inwardly.

The next day however, Jake looked over at the ping of the elevator doors opening and gave a loud gasp.
He squealed so long and hard that even Boyle backed away. "What, why is Captain America here?! A, Avengers! Here! What?!"
"Steve! What the heck man, I thought you were going to be my plus one." Boyle said disappointed as he smiled broadly at his friend who looked around the pen interested.
Before Steve Rogers, the Captain America could answer, Jake looked stunned. "You know Captain America?!"
"Yeah, he's my cooking buddy at our cooking and art making class. He makes a mean macaroni and cheese." Boyle explained as Rosa walked out of the elevator as she helped an old lady who had a strong grip as Jake rushed forward exclaiming, "Grandma! You came! I'm so happy!"
He did not expect his nana to walk right past him to wack Captain America with her cane or at least tried to, since he dodged it. "Stevie Grant Rogers, why haven't you been in touch with me! I had crush on you back in the day! What is wrong with you? You have no time for an old friend's little sister?"
"Becca? Rebecca Barnes?" Steve asked his eyes widen at the sight of his old buddy Bucky's little sister, her brown hair now white but her blue eyes the same as always.
"It's Becca Proctor to you buddy." Becca sniffed as Steve grinned widely and opened his arms for a hug.
"I'm sorry, can I use the alien excuse and the evil people took over my company line?" Steve asked nervously as Becca squeezed him tight enough to suffocate another man.
"Just this once and I need your phone number."
"Deal."
As the two old friends started talking, Jake just gaped wordlessly at them as the door to the stairs opened, shut and then Natasha Romanov was there looking at Steve with a raised eyebrow.
"Steve who is that?" She asked and listened with half an ear as Rosa nodded at her. "Romanov."
"Diaz. How it going? Life good? Find anyone as unique as you yet?" Nat asked eyeing Steve's old friend who looked slightly familiar for some reason. Maybe it was the eyes.
"I thought so but" Rosa shrugged as Amy looked on very jealous and slightly awed.
"You, you made out with Black Widow?!" Boyle had to sit down and then he really sat down when Hitchcock and Sully looked up from their game of tic-tac-toe to say, "Oh good you're here Steve. Everyone this is our or mine or oh just our great-uncle or grand-father or something."
Everyone looked horrified as Captain Holt came in with Sam Wilson. "What's all the matter?"
"Nothing, nothing Captain. Everything is ship shape." Amy said then exclaimed, "Don't tell me your nephew is the Falcon Sir!"
"No, this is Terry's distant cousin. I am filling in for him today since my nephew couldn't make it." The captain explained.
Abruptly, Adrian Peralita popped up with a just as scary looking man, well more normal then Adrian. "Everyone this is my great uncle, oh hi grandma on my father's side."
Who was staring at her brother in disbelief. "James?"
"Becca?" James stared at the old woman who had the eyes of his beloved little sister and he just knew.
The day descended into chaos from there, as Gina started to talk to a weird out Steve Rogers at her questions, as Boyle still couldn't believe that Hitchcock and Scully was related to Captain America and was grilling them on it while Becca was amused by the slight flirtation that started to happen between her brother and this Natasha Romanov. He always like redheads.
"So that's your great uncle." Rosa asked Adrian who nodded explaining how he found him In one of his old hidey-hole and talked him into rejoining the human race. It helped that he could relate to his background.
Amy exclaimed, "Wait, what is going on here? Does everyone here know the Avengers?! So unfair."
She spend the rest of the week trying to see if she was related to or wanted to hang out with the rest of the Avengers which was hard because the Hulk and Thor were M.I.A. but that didn't stop Amy from trying.
Amy ended up bringing Clint Barton to the next "Bring someone to work day." She was very determined.
