Chapter 1: Heroes Unite! Part 1
In an unknown hyperspace, three powerful duelists were fighting three powerful beings known as the Barians, the soul terror of another dimension known as Astral World.
The three duelists are named Yuma, Kite, and Shark. Each of them squared off against each of the Barians.
Yuma had tan skin, red eyes, and black and red spiked hair that pointed out and upward. Yuma wore the Emperor's Key around his neck, which was hung by a black string. He owned a white and yellow Duel Gazer with a green lens, matching the color scheme of his ace, "Number 39: Utopia". He wore a red vest with a white hood and a blue sleeveless shirt with a green "D" symbol, standing for "Duel". Yuma also wore white pants with designs of three orange moon crescents attached to one another with yellow outlines at the bottom, a white brown-stripe belt, and black with blue streaks shoes with white straps. Other accessories included a brown fingerless glove on his left hand, a black protective pad on his right elbow and a thick, dark blue bracelet with light blue gems and red outlines on his right wrist.
Being an energy being of the Astral World, Astral had a transparent blue body with green markings and blue gems all over his very thin body. He had blue hair that curls up in a Mohawk and pointed ears, which were pierced with dangling earrings. Astral also had heterochromic eyes, the left eye being luminous gold and the right a clear white.
Shark had dark blue eyes, pale skin, and dark purple hair, which resembles tentacles hanging down, referencing his Deck theme of aquatic creatures. These "tentacles" slightly resemble pigtails, but curled up on the end. He also had a blue-gray "crown" in front of his forehead. His accessories included a gray, shark tooth-shaped locket, which contained a family photo of his parents, as well as himself and his sister Rio Kastle as children. He also had a scar on his right shoulder. He also wore a gray ring on his right hand. He owned a gray and green Duel Gazer with a red lens and a yellow spike as well as a blue D-Pad. His attire included a dark purple jacket with green gems on the gray sleeve cuffs over a maroon shirt, dark blue pants, and white shoes adorned with the same green gems.
Kite had light blue-gray eyes, pale skin and blonde hair that is curled up in a point with a dark green spiked front, also featuring dark green bangs. His normal attire included a black trench coat with a high collar over a gray shirt, a fingerless black glove on his right hand, and white pants with black boots. He also had a belt with two purple deck boxes for his cards. When Kite Duels, his black outfit converts to white through a process called "Photon Transformation". Unlike any other regular D-Pad version of a Duel Disk, Kite's disk is a blue and single-bladed disk that curves outside. He can Duel without a Duel Gazer; however, his left eye turns from blue-gray to red and several marks resembling a Duel Gazer are seen when he Duels. He can also do this independently of Photon Transformation for when he is a spectator.
Dumon appears most often under his gray cloak and has gray eyes that glow red. In his Barian form, his skin is of a wisteria color, he has short gray hair, two blue markings on the sides of his face and silver armor plating with blue gems covering different parts of his body, with a Barian Emblem found on the right side of his chest. Unlike most Barians, he has a visible nose in his true form and his eyes are completely gray, with no visible pupils.
Yuma, and his ally Astral have fused into a power being with the power of ZEXAL. However, the form was corrupted by dark energy, due to Yumas lies and betrayal against Astral for not telling him that one of his friends was a barian, named Vector.
However, due to Yumas spirit and will to never give up, he was able to cancel out dark ZEXAL and return both of them to their original forms. Though Astral couldn't trust him like before, he never lost faith in Yuma's spirit of hope. This caused a new power to emerge from within them, and come out victorious against Vector, when the ground then started rumbling.
"What's going on!?" Shark asked.
"This wasteland is collapsing in on itself!" Dumon said. His skin was of a wisteria color, and had short gray hair, two blue markings on the sides of his face and silver armor plating with blue gems covering different parts of his body, with a Barian Emblem found on the right side of his chest. Unlike most Barians, he had a visible nose and his eyes were completely gray, with no visible pupils. He contacted his other Barian ally. "Mizar, we need to go!"
"Dumon!" Mizar exclaimed under his decidedly alien mask-like face, which had a wing prodding out the left side, and piercing blue eyes. He wore white arm guards, as well as boots of the same color adorned with white gems and a bronze-colored sarong with white plating that have green gems in addition to having yellow skin, horned shoulders, and long blond-orange hair. He also wore his Barian Emblem hanging from his chest in the shape of a caduceus.
"Listen to me, the energy from Yuma and Vector's battle has thrown Sargasso out of balance." Dumon explained.
"So what?" Mizar asked.
"Do you want to be stuck in this wasteland forever?" Dumon asked.
Mizar growled. "Next time…" He said to Kite and vanished.
"You think you've won, but you're wrong!" Vector shouted, as he was very wounded. Hisskin was colored gray and black with tiny pink gems found on the sides of his body, with a crudely shaped Barian Emblem at the center of it. He had purple eyes with black outlines, and bulbous spiked, light gray hair with bangs curling outward around his face. He wore a dark gray short sarong decorated with pink gems around the waist and possessed a pair of black demonic wings also adorned with pink gems on them. He also originally wore a dark purple cloak. "Mark my words. The lie that stained Astral will never go away! It will last forever! It'll gnaw at your bond and destroy it!" He laughed and vanished in a portal behind him.
Astral and Yuma were then transported into the ship and they all left. Suddenly, the ship hit a roadway and Yuma and Astral fell overboard!
"YUMA!" They heard their friends crying out for them as they fell through one of the dimensional portals. They were then engulfed in a light and vanished.
(Play Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal: Halfway to Forever)
The music starts up with Yuma activating his gear like in the original opening, before a blue vortex sucks Yuma and Astral into Paris.
Still together as one;
Cuz divided we're none;
Ready to go, we feel the flow!
Yuma then landed on his feet, as Astral floated next to him, before he drew a card and summoned Utopia.
So don't stand in our way
You know we ain't afraid
This is our time, we're in control!
Tikki was then sucked into Marinette's earrings, as she was transformed into Ladybug
If I trip up today;
You just wipe it away;
All of my fears are gone, erased!
Plagg was about to eat a piece of Camembert, before he was sucked into Adrien's ring, as he was transformed into Cat Noir.
Let us tear down the walls;
'Til the final night falls;
The bonds of our souls can't be replaced!
The four heroes then came together, as they all charged towards Hawkmouth.
Let us fight together;
Regret it never;
Our dreams will be…!
The Giant Shadow of Don Thousand appears over both worlds as Vector goes from his human form to Barian mode, devastating the land.
Halfway to,
Forever;
Our light comes shining through!
Yuma and Astral then fuse into Zexal II as Yuma Summons Utopia Ray Victory as it uses an overlay unit.
Reach down deep;
Beat defeat;
Do all that we can do!
Ladybug and Cat Noir were then shown, as their monsters appeared and joined Utopia Ray Victory's attack.
Halfway to,
Forever;
We've got nothing to lose!
Hawkmoth smirked, as he held his arm out, ready to take the Miraculous's, while Vector prepared to counter-attack.
Keep breathing;
Believing;
Halfway to forever-rrrrrr!
The Numeron Code was then shown, all of the Miraculous were spiraling around it. Astral and Yuma smile at each other and touch hands as they all come together with their aces standing out, with the title below them.

In another world, a teenage girl was in her living room, using a translator app. She had medium-length black hair with blue reflections pulled back into pigtails and bluebell eyes. The freckles across her cheeks and the bridge of her nose shined in the sunlight. She wore a dark gray blazer with rolled-up sleeves, the inside lined in white with pink polka dots and black trimming. She also wore a white t-shirt with black stitching and a flower design below the collar, pink rolled up jeans, pink ballet flats with dark red soles, a light pink purse that she carried over her shoulder, eyeliner around her eyes and a pair of round black earrings. This was Marinette, the aforementioned daughter of Tom Dupain and Sabine Cheng.
"You'll see Tikki. I'll say it just fine." Marinette said, as she then pressed the microphone button on the app. "Welcome to my home. My name is Marinette."
"欢迎来到我的家,我的名字叫马里内特。"
She repeats the sentence the robotic voice on her cellphone says, and a frowning face appears over her screen, signifying that she mispronounced it. "No, that's not right." Marinette sighed. She tried again, and this time, a happy face appeared over it, indicating she got it correct this time.
"Good job, Marinette!" Tikki, who was a small being, said. She had red skin with black dots, blue eyes, two antennae atop its head, and a short tail with three tips aligned vertically. Tikki was a kwami, a powerful entity tied to a special piece of jewelry simply known as a Miraculous. The object coupled with the creature would allow a user, identified as a holder, to transform into a hero or villain depending on their intentions. It was thanks to the ladybug kwami that Marinette could transform into the lucky hero Ladybug. Together with Chat Noir, she worked to battle the villain Hawkmoth and protect Paris.
"I'm so nervous! Do you think he'll like them?" Marinette asks as she reaches over her coffee table to grab a bouquet of viola sorbet raspberry flowers.
"Well of course! They're fine." Tikki says.
"They can't be fine, they have to be perfect!" Marinette says, clutching the plastic-wrapped bottom of the bouquet. "My mom's uncle is a famous Chinese chef. He's very particular, so things have to be just right."
"That's him! Hide, Tikki." Marinette exclaimed and quickly jumbled to her feet. After Tikki flew into her wielder's purse, the black-haired girl clumsily tripped over the couch. She quickly composed herself and took a deep breath, ready to meet her great-uncle.
She slowly opens the door to reveal an older, overweight, Chinese man at medium height, having short black hair and brown eyes. His eyebrows were long and thick, and he had a small mustache beneath his nose with a gap in the middle, as well as a small, squared beard on the tip of his chin. He wore a chef uniform, which included a white chef hat, a light gray shirt with sleeves rolled to his elbows and four buttons on the left side, and light gray pants. His shoes were black and he carried a brown leather side satchel with the strap going over his left shoulder. This was Wang Cheng, a famous and highly skilled Chinese chef, as well as the owner and head chef of the Thousand Delights restaurant. He is also Sabine's uncle and Marinette's great uncle.
"你好 (Hello)," he greets with a wave.
"Uh, welcome Mari you're at Nette's. Uh ah, welcome to Marinette's! You're Chinese! No no no no! In Mandarin!" Marinette holds her bouquet of flowers out to him, which he gratefully accepts. With a grin on her face, she tries to say what little Chinese she learned in a short period of time. She mispronounces it completely, however. "Ugh, no wait." Marinette takes her cell phone out and says a sentence in French so that her translation application can say it for her instead.
While his niece stumbles all over her words, Chef Cheng smells the flowers she gave him and sighs in contentment. He picks petals off of the violas and puts them inside his brown bag, which Marinette noticed.
"Welcome to my home. My name is Marinette. Ugh, this is so lame." Marinette groans, tapping the Translate button.
"欢迎来到我家。我的名字叫马里内特。哎,这个真差劲。哎,这个真差劲。哎,这个-..."
Unfortunately, the app malfunctioned and kept repeating "Ugh, this is so lame!" until she closed the and let her great uncle inside, and quickly dialed her best friend's number. "Alya, you've gotta help me. I don't know what to do with my mom's uncle. You know, the one I told you about? Well, I don't think I can pull this off…"
"Chill out Marinette, I got the solution. Just hang tight." Her friend's voice said.
"Thank you! You're amazing. What solution"? Huh? Aw…" Marinette said, before realizing that Alya had hung up.
Marinette then sat uncomfortably next to Wang Cheng on the sofa. They sat in silence for a good ten minutes, when the doorbell suddenly rang. Believing that this is the help Alya sent her, Marinette quickly runs over the door and swings it open.
Standing on the other side of the door was Marinette's crush, Adrien Agreste. He was a handsome and fair-skinned teenage boy with brushed-back blond hair that was swept to the right. He also had emerald-green eyes and had a rosy tint on his cheeks, nose, and the tips of his ears. He was about half a head taller than Marinette. Adrien wore a white button-down jacket with an upturned collar and sleeves rolled up above his elbow, which he kept unbuttoned. Underneath, he wore a black t-shirt with five horizontal stripes around the chest, which were colored, from top to bottom, yellow, brown, bright green, navy blue, and purple. He wore blue jeans and orange sneakers with white laces, and a logo of a black butterfly in a circle on the sides. On the ring finger of his right hand, was what looked like a silver ring. But what people didn't know, it was actually the Black Cat Miraculous, which allowed him to transform into Cat Noir.
"Hey Marinette!"
"ADRIEN!? What in the—uh—what are you—" Marinette stuttered in shock.
"Alya called me. She said you needed someone who speaks Chinese? Well, here I am! Translator at your service." Adrien said as he gave a bow.
"No! I mean, yes! Uh, where's Alya?" Marinette asked before receiving a text from Alya, who probably confirmed the situation.
The quiet air atop of the Le Grand Paris was peaceful, until a dimensional portal appeared and Yuma and Astral were thrown out of it, before it closed as if nothing had happened or had ever been there other than the duo it had spat out.
Yuma had no idea what was going on. One moment he and his friends were facing the Barians, then Sargasso became unstable and forced everyone to flee. Now he was flying backwards and slamming into a large air conditioning unit with enough force to dent it.
A second later, Astral floated down next to him, as he managed to regain control of his flight. "Yuma, are you alright?" He asked.
"I think so…" Yuma said, as he groaned in pain. "Oh man... that came out of nowhere..." He got up, before looking around, and heading to the edge of the roof, as he then took out his Duel Gazer, trying to contact his friends.
"I'm sorry, but the number you entered does not exist. Please try entering the correct number."
"Weird." Yuma said, as he tried his other friend's numbers, only to get the same result, before he gave up and pocketed his Duel Gazer. "What is this place?"
""If I had to guess, we're in some alternate world, specifically in Paris." Astral said as he spotted the Eiffel Tower in the distance.
"Huh? Why do you think we're in an alternate world?" Yuma asked, confused.
"When we fell overboard, we went through some interdimensional rift. The odds of it bringing us to our world would be very slim." Astral explained.
"I guess that would explain why we can't contact the others." Yuma nodded. "Well, what do we do?"
"I believe it would be best if we familiarize ourselves with our surroundings." Astral said, he looked towards the stairs.
Marinette, Adrien, and Wang Cheng were now in a car heading to a cooking contest that Wang was taking part in. Right now, the chef and Adrien were talking to each other in Chinese, Marinette stared at the two with a confused look.
"郑师傅,这是你第一次来巴黎吗? (Master Cheng, Is this the first time you've visited Paris?)" Adrien asked.
"不,我三十年曾经来过这里;你说一口流利的中国话。 (No, I have been here 30 years ago. You can speak Chinese fluently.)" Wang replied
"谢谢,郑师傅。 (Thank you, Master Cheng.)" Adrien said with a bow.
"Oh, my English very bad. Not like your Chinese." The chef said, much to the surprise of the two teens.
"I thought you couldn't speak English." Adrien said.
"Uh, me too." Marinette said.
"Oh, no, not good. My English not good." Wang replied, getting Marinette to giggle.
"Since our "World's Greatest Chef" contest kicked off, the best culinary masters from around the globe have been blowing our minds with their gastronomic creations." A man said to a TV Camera, as Wang Cheng, Marinette, and Adrien arrived at the Le Grand Paris. This was Alec Cataldi, a French TV Host. Alec was tall, had tan skin, a shaved head, thin dark brown eyebrows, and dark brown eyes. He wore a light blue V-necked T-shirt with two buttons below the collar, white pants, and black and white sneakers. On his left wrist, he had a black woven bracelet with white clasps, and on his right wrist, he had a leather wristband with a silver buckle.
"Cheng Shifu, I am delighted and honored to have you on our final show, where you will have the chance to defeat all of the chefs who have competed thus far." A man said as he walked up to Wang, who smiled before he and the teens entered the hotel. This was André Bourgeois, the Mayor of Paris and the Owner of Le Grand Paris. André was a fairly tall and fat man with slicked back gray hair and light brilliant cobalt blue eyes. He wore a dark gray dress jacket with three large black buttons over a white dress shirt. He had a strong red tie, and there was a matching red folded handkerchief in the jacket's upper left pocket. He also had dark gray slacks and black shoes. He wore a blue, white, and red striped sash over his right shoulder, and the ends of the sash were tied together next to his hips with thick golden tassels.
"Only one will be awarded the title of "World's Greatest Chef." The winner's dish will become the new Mayor's Special on the Grand Paris's menu!" Alec said before going up to Wang. "Tell us Cheng Shifu, what dish will you be honoring our panel with today?"
"你将交给上的菜 (The dish you will be offering)" Adrien translated to Wang Cheng.
"My dish is: Celestial soup." Wang said.
"Wow! I've heard so much about your legendary Celestial Soup, but today we'll actually get to taste it!" Alec said before ending his broadcast.
"Would you like me to come with you, Cheng Shifu?" Adrien asked.
"No thank you Adrien. Cooking needs no words." Wang said before Alec led him off.
"Thanks, Adrien. I'm totally sorry for bothering you two for nothing. I really thought he couldn't speak English." Marinette said.
"No problem Marinette. It was awesome to be able to practice my Chinese, especially with a Shifu." Adrien said.
"A Shifu?" Marinette asked.
"That means "Master" in Chinese. Your Mom's Uncle is a great master!" Adrien answered.
That's when an annoying, yet familiar voice spoke up. "Oh look who it is! My favorite person, Marinette Dupain-Cheng." Following the voice, the three saw a slender teenage girl of medium height, who had brilliant cobalt blue eyes, pale pink lips, and light honey blonde hair, which parted in the middle while pulled back into a high ponytail held in place by a white hair tie. This was Chloé Bourgeois, a rival of Marinette and the daughter of André.
She is mostly seen wearing makeup; pale, light grayish cerulean eye-shadow, pale, light grayish brown lipstick, and a light scarlet blush. For accessories, she had a gold chain necklace, with a small gold disco ball, and white-rimmed sunglasses on her head. Chloé wore a sparkly brilliant yellow bolero that goes halfway down her forearms with a light blue button on the left side and two pockets over a white shirt with black stripes around the chest running down to the bottom of the waist. The rest of her outfit included white jean capris with a golden belt that has pyramid-shaped bumps and white dress shoes adorned with white bows with black lining and soles.
"I mean, seriously? Does your great-uncle really expect to win the contest with a SOUP!? It's not even a main dish! Please! Doesn't he know how to make sushi like everyone else?"
"Japanese people make sushi, Chloe. Cheng Shifu is Chinese!" Adrien said with slight anger.
"Besides, he's not like "everyone else". My Great Uncle is the best chef in the world. His soup is legendary!" Marinette shouted.
"Well, I despise soup." Chloe said, crossing her arms.
"So what?" Marinette asked.
"Didn't you know? I'm on the jury. Your uncle will not be getting my vote, for sure." Chloe answered in a snobby tone.
"Oh yeah? Well, he doesn't need your vote to win! There are other judges with much better taste than yours." Marinette said, getting an undignified look from Chloe. "Huh, silly me, you don't have any taste! I mean, look at what you're wearing."
"Ew! Don't talk about me like that." Chloe said before stomping off towards the stairs. "You've made a big mistake."
"Wow, you really stood up for Cheng Shifu. He would've appreciated that." Adrien said.
"I'm not sure. I don't think he likes me." Marinette said in a sad tone.
"Oh no, you're wrong." Adrien said.
"No, I swear! He even ripped up the bouquet I gave him." Marinette said.
"Cheng Shifu isn't just a chef, Marinette - he's an artist! He told me he was gonna put flowers in his Celestial Soup. He said he improvises on faithful things that come his way. The flowers he mentioned must be the ones you gave him!" Adrien said, getting a surprised look from Marinette.
"So... you think he actually likes me?" Marinette asked.
"Totally! He's shown you great respect in his own special way." Adrien answers as he puts his hands on her shoulders, making her let out a happy sigh.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Wang Cheng began to slice some vegetables and put them into his soup, along with some spices, seasoning, and the flower petals Marinette gave him. Little did he know that Chloe was peering in from the hallway to see Wang Cheng tasting his soup, knowing it was ready.
"Mr. Cheng, Marinette's looking for you outside." She said, gaining his attention, as he went out to look for her. The moment he was out of sight, Chloe went over to the stove where the soup was cooking, and began to put random ingredients and trash in it. "Let's see if the other judges enjoy your uncle's soup after this, Marinette Dupain-Cheng." She said to herself, as she looked at a bottle, and shrugged before pouring its contents into it. She then stirred her concoction up, and put the lid back on, just as Wang Cheng arrived back into the Kitchen.
"Marinette wasn't there—"
"No speak Japanese. See ya." Chloe interrupted, as she walked away, while the chef raised an in confusion.
Meanwhile, with Yuma and Astral…
"Oh man, we've been here like six times already!" Yuma yelled in frustration, as he and Astral were in front of a door, labeled "Janitors Closet".
"Perhaps it would help if you would have read the map, like I tried to tell you." Astral pointed out.
"Map? What map?" Yuma asked in confusion, as the blue being pointed towards a clearly visible map hanging on the wall, making Yuma cartoonishly fall to the ground, before he ran up the map, and began reading it. "We will not speak of this when we get back home."
"As usual, our panel of gourmets is made up of Andre Bourgeois, the mayor of Paris and owner of this luxury hotel, his daughter Chloe, representing the younger generation, hot rockstar Jagged Stone and his killer crocodile Fang, and finally, the divine head chef of this very hotel, Marlena Cesaire, and yours truly - Alec!" Alec said, introducing the judges for the contest.
Jagged Stone was tall with moderate turquoise eyes. He had black hair with dyed purple tips, a black beard, and a mustache which connects with his beard. His eyebrows were black and split in two at the sides. He wore heavy, dark eyeshadow and eyeliner. His outfit included a sparkly black jacket with yellow accents and yellow epaulets. Underneath, he wore a black zero collared undershirt. His pants were yellow with black vertical stripes, similar to a bee. He wore lacy, black fingerless gloves on both hands. His shoes were black heeled boots with a design on the soles. Around his neck was a necklace consisting of two golden wings with a pendant of a skull in between the wings. His pet crocodile, Fang, was a large and pale brown reptile with jagged teeth and golden eyes with oblong pupils, and wore a spike collar.
Marlena was a short, brown skinned woman. Her eyes and hair were brown, with the hair pulled up into a bun. She wore brilliant pink lipstick. Marlena wore a white chef tunic with three white buttons on each side of the front, light blue pants, and white tennis shoes. She also wore a tall chef's hat with "Le Grand Paris" embroidered on it in gold.
"It's time to determine the fate of Cheng Shifu's famous Celestial Soup. Let's get tasting!" Alec said.
Each judge takes a spoonful of the violet-colored soup as Chef Cheng leans in, eager to hear their responses.
Alec suddenly spits out the soup. "What is this?!" he cries, making Chef Cheng, Adrien and Marinette gasp.
"Uh, I don't think this soup would fare well with our guests," Mayor Bourgeois says in the politest way possible. "I'll give it a three on ten."
"Seeing as it's pretty unappetizing, maybe I'll pass on the tasting," Chloe says, pushing the bowl away from her. "I'll give it a zero!"
Jagged Stone gags. "Rancid!" he cries. "It's like kissing XY! Negative zero!"
"I'm sorry, but it's inedible," Marlena Cesaire says apologetically. "I give it a one on ten."
"But this cannot be," Chef Cheng says, walking up to Chloe's bowl of soup. He takes her coup and takes a sip of his broth, only to spit it out. "I don't understand. I never put these ingredients in. It's a mistake. Someone sabotaged soup!"
While the judges exchange worried looks upon hearing this claim, Marinette catches the smug smile on Chloe's face, and glares daggers at the blonde.
"I'm sorry, Cheng Shifu, but I'm giving you a zero too, which brings your score to zero point eight on ten—the lowest ranking so far," Alec says apologetically. "Your Celestial Soup will therefore not be in the hotel's menu this year, and you will not be named World's Greatest Chef!"
When Alec announces a quick goodbye at the camera, Marinette spots a purple flower petal fly off Chloe when the blonde stands up from her seat. "This isn't right, and I'm certain Chloe's got something to do with it."
"I'd like to say you're wrong, but I know her only too well," Adrien says.
Marinette runs up to her disheartened relative. "Uncle Cheng? I'm sure it's not your fault. In fact, I know it's not. I'm pretty sure Chloe's behind all this," she says, and her shoulders droop guiltily. "It was actually because of me. I provoked her, and—"
"Shame is on Celestial Soup. I shall never be World's Greatest Chef," Chef Cheng says sadly, walking back into the kitchen to pack up his ingredients.
"No! Uncle Cheng!" Marinette cried out.
"It's horrible to lose face in China." Adrien said as he walked to Marinette as he put his hand on her shoulder. "We'll wait for him downstairs." They walked downstairs together, feeling down.
Back in the Kitchen, Wang Cheng was standing sadly over his soup pot, before he noticed the bottle Chloe used. "Marinette was right. It was evil act by that brat! No respect for Cheng Shifu! No respect for Perfect Soup!" He yelled angrily, as he was about to leave, before a small blinking light was caught by the corner of his eye. "Huh?" he asked out-loud, looking over towards the source of the sudden light.
The light was coming from the top of a cabinet. He walked over to the cabinet to see what it was. He then saw that the object was rectangular-shaped, but that wasn't all; the object seemed to be a blank white card. The moment he picked it up, a shadowy mist appeared around the blank card, which then surrounded Wang Cheng. When that happened, he began to feel very strangely. "Urk! Wh-what's going on...?!" he asked in distress. "Head…hurts...!"
"Yes..." said a vicious-sounding voice. "Let the Number take hold…"
"Huh...? Wh-who said that...?"
"Let the number take hold… and I can give you what you want..." the voice told him. "I can make it so that you will always be able to cook the perfect dishes...Those who tasted your soup will become your servants… Everyone who wronged you will pay dearly..."
"The... perfect dishes...?" asked Wang Cheng in a monotone voice.
"That's correct...and in exchange, you must do something for me..." it then told him.
"...What is it you want me to do...?" Wang Cheng then asked as a yellow symbol resembling the number 59 appeared upon his forehead and began to glow brightly, as the mist completely surrounded him.
This caught the attention of a certain man. Far across Paris, in an unknown location, a window was unsheathed to brighten the room it belonged to. Surrounded by white butterflies was a man wearing a dark purple dress shirt with a black butterfly-shaped lapel, a butterfly brooch on the center of the collar, and black dress pants. Over the majority of his face and neck was a silver mask. This was Hawkmoth, the supervillain of Paris and the forceful keeper of the Butterfly Miraculous.
"I sense something," he murmured. "A great power unlike any other I've ever felt before. Something ancient...something terrifying." Suddenly, a smirk formed on Hawkmoth's face. "And it may be just what I need to turn the tide in this fight." He held out his hand, allowing a butterfly to land in it. He cupped his hands around the creature, pushing his twisted magic into it. He revealed the animal once more, the creature now being black and purple in color. "Fly away, my little Akuma," he said as it flew off. "It's time we did a little… investigating." He allowed it to fly away, the center of the window opening so it could fly off.
In Le Grand Paris dining hall, Alec was in the middle of filming a segment when the jury (besides Chloé) began to experience extreme stomach pains.
"Ooohhh, uhh…" Alec said, clutching his stomach.
"Ohh, my guts are killing me." Jagged Stone said, as he banged on the table.
"I'm feeling quite uncomfortable…" The mayor groaned in pain.
Just then, a strange, and leaped down and laughed evilly. The person had pale, light grayish purple skin, golden sclerae, and vivid orange eyes. There were red marks around his mouth, around his chin and on his forehead, which surrounded the yellow 59 symbol. His eyebrows were thick silver markings with curled ends. His hair, mustache, and beard were blond, his hair spiky and wildly pointing upwards. He still wore his chef hat and his satchel, the side of his satchel now bearing a brown mandarin symbol, which means "Kung Food," within a circle. He wore an orange sleeveless karate tunic with short, tattered sleeves and a dark brown collar, along with a black belt wrapped around his waist. On the right side of his chest, there was a red circle with a white outline and white Mandarin characters which read "Kung Food" inside. There were black strands of fabric wrapped around his lower legs, and his shoes are black with tan soles.
"Bwahaha! You have eaten my soup, you become my servants!" The man said, as he began to laugh evilly, while the jury's eyes became orange, indicating they were under his control.
"At your command, master." The controlled Alec said.
"Grab the girl." The man said, pointing to Chloe, who was on her phone. The possessed people nodded, and began to creep towards the girl.
"Yeah, well, I was wondering if you would like to come—" She said to whoever she was talking to on the phone, before she noticed the people crowding around her. "Uh, wh—w-wait! Calm down now. I'm Mayor Bourgeois' daughter, remember?" She pleaded, right before she backed into her own father. "Daddy?!"
"Kung Food will make a new soup called Brat Soup!" The man, now known as Kung Food, grinned.
"But I don't like soup!" Chloe protested while struggling to get free, making Kung Food chuckle.
In the lobby of the hotel Marinette and Adrien were waiting downstairs when the TV cameraman ran past them.
"Get out! Hurry! Get out while you still can!"
Both of them looked up to see a cameraman being chased like little, flying objects. One of the flying objects stops in front of Marinette and Adrien, and projects a screen, revealing Kung Food.
"Not polite to leave table without permission. Cut off all exits!" the villain commands, as they watch brownish liquid droop down the windows and doors.
Adrien attempted to push the door open, but to no avail. Some of the goo floods through the cracks of the door, and Adrien sticks his finger in the liquid. "Caramel?" He asked in confusion, as he then tasted it. "Mmm. It might taste good but it's totally indestructible. Looks like we're trapped inside."
"My Great Uncle is still upstairs!" Marinette cried. "He might be in trouble!"
"Don't worry, I'll find him." Adrien said as he ran off.
"Thanks. We'll... look for a way out of here…" Marinette said.
"You want to taste Kung Food's soup. Everybody become my servants, and Kung Food become 'World's Greatest Chef'! Hahahaha!"
"Uncle?!" Marinette exclaimed in shock, as she realized who this person was, before running off into the hallway. "I never should have riled up Chloe!" Marinette said as she let Tikki out of her purse. "I've gotta save my Uncle!"
"You'll do it, Marinette," Tikki says encouragingly. "I'm sure you will!"
Marinette nodded, as she exclaimed, "TIKKI, SPOTS ON!" Tikki was then sucked into Marinette's earrings. Both sets of jewels turned red with a ladybug spot pattern forming atop them. Marinette had pink energy flow over her as her outfit was slowly replaced. She now wore a skin tight suit with a ladybug spot pattern, a mask with a similar theme, red ribbons that held her pigtails in place, and a ladybug yoyo that tied itself around her waist. This was her mission suit, the one most commonly known for Ladybug.
With Adrien, he went inside of a Staircase and let a black cat-like Kwami out. "Time to transform!"
"You didn't happen to pick up a little piece of Camembert during all this cooking chaos, did you?" The being asked.
The blonde just sighed and shook his head. "Cheese after the main meal. PLAGG, CLAWS OUT!"
Plagg then got sucked into Adrien's ring, starting his transformation. All at once, a black leather suit appeared on his body, complete with boots, clawed gloves and a belt that looked and acted almost like a cat's tail. On top of his now slightly messier blonde hair, a pair of black ears grew. To top it all off, Adrien swiped a hand over his eyes and a black domino mask appeared, his regular green eyes suddenly turning completely green with slitted pupils like real cats. Flexing and swiping his claws, Cat Noir prepared to leap into action.
Ladybug and Cat Noir both did backflips, and they met each other in the lobby.
"Cat Noir?" Ladybug asked
"Ladybug! I don't know about you, m'lady, but I'm a bit hungry." Cat Noir said.
"Let's go eat then. Shall we?" She said, as they began to ran towards the elevators.
Unbeknownst to them, they were being watched by one of Kung Food's dumpling drones, as he had seemed to replace the water on the rooftop pool with soup broth as his henchmen were adding ingredients and stirring it, while Chloé was hanging over it from a pole while tied up.
"Surprise ingredients?" Kung Food asked himself, before grinning. "Hah! Delicious!" He then pointed to Jagged Stone. "You! Go capture them!"
"Yes, Master Kung Food." The control Jagged Stone bowed, before he ran off.
"Brat Soup will be even more powerful with superhero flavor." Kung Food commented.
"I will not eat your soup!" Chloe yelled.
"Foolish girl. You are not eating soup, you ARE soup!" Kung Food grinned, causing Chloe to scream.
"Someone help! Let me down!" She desperately cried.
"Don't worry, you will be let down soon enough." Kung Food said as he began to laugh, the strange number symbol glowing brightly.
On the Ground Floor, Cat Noir kept trying to push the button for the elevator, only for nothing to happen. "Ugh! It's jammed!"
Then, a dumpling drone flew over and projected Kung Food. "Ladybug! Cat Noir! You soon have privilege to be ingredients in Kung Food's soup. But first — you taste my special of the day!" Kung Food said as the elevator opened to reveal Jagged Stone.
"Seafood appetizers." Jagged said, holding a sword made up of seafood.
"Jagged Stone!" Ladybug said in shock.
"Seafood? This scampi happening. Let's see if you can carry a tuna!" Cat Noir said.
"Look out!" Ladybug warned as Jagged Stone swung his seafood sword at them.
"That's not very rock n' roll of you Jagged Stone." Cat Noir said.
"Rock is one thing, soup is another. When I'm done with you you'll be mincemeat." Jagged said charging at them.
"Don't be so sure!" A voice shouted, as Yuma ran and slid in front of him, causing the Rock Star to trip. Ladybug, a little shocked by this sudden event, used this opening to tie her yoyo around Jagged Stone's leg and pulled him away as she spun him around and threw him into the janitor's closet, right before Cat Noir slammed the door shut. Ladybug slid over on a chair and used it to block the door in order to prevent the controlled rock star from escaping.
"Thanks, kid-" Cat Noir smiled at Yuma, before his and Ladybug's eyes widened, as they saw Astral floating next to the duelist.
"Huh? What is it?" Yuma asked the heroes, as he turned to where they were looking, only to see Astral, before looking back at the heroes, realizing what was happening. "Wait! You guys can see Astral?!" He exclaimed, pointing at his friend.
"Are we…not supposed to?" Ladybug asked, looking at the blue alien.
"Not really. Those who don't possess some kind of power cannot see me at all." Astral explained.
"Maybe it's our Miraculous?" Cat Noir theorized.
Before Yuma and Astral could even ask what he was talking about, they heard the closet door bang, and saw the chair blocking it start to move a little. "All in favor of continuing this on the way up?!" Yuma asked, gaining two nods as the four of them rushed in the elevator.
Up on the roof Kung Food was making the preparations for his soup.
"This Brat Soup will be Kung Food's greatest masterpiece." Kung Food smiles.
"Must you tie me up above this foul-smelling liquid? My clothes will stink of grease." Chloe whined.
"Soup is not greasy at all! Kung Food soup is perfect!" Kung Food laughed, as he saw a projection of Ladybug, Cat Noir and Yuma entering the Elevator, just before Jagged Stone got out of the closet. "Bad Sous-Chefs. You, do me justice!" Kung Food points to Mayor Bourgeois.
"Yes, Master." said as he ran off.
"So you guys came from an alternate dimension?" Ladybug asked, as they were talking in the elevator.
"Yes. When our ship crashed, we fell overboard, and an interdimensional portal brought us to this Hotel." Astral said. "We were currently trying to leave before this 'Kung Food' attacked."
"That's Akuma's for you. They show up at the worst of times." Cat Noir sighed.
"Akuma's?" Yuma asked, confused.
"Oh, right. You wouldn't know about them." Ladybug said. "To make a long story short, this villain known as Hawkmoth is after magical jewels known as Miraculous. He uses his powers to create Akuma's and corrupt the people based on their emotions. We use the two particular Miraculous he wants in order to defeat the civilians and purify the objects used to convert them into the villain of the day."
"And you're saying that Cheng guy is one of them?" Yuma asked in clarity, getting a nod in response.
"It sounds very similar to how the Numbers corrupt people." Astral spoke up.
"Numbers?" Ladybug asked.
"It's another long story." Yuma sighed, not sure where to begin.
"Well, we got time. We've got nowhere to go but up." Cat Noir grinned, when suddenly the elevator came to a stop, causing everyone to fall off their feet.
"You spoke too soon!" Ladybug said, internally a little upset that her partner jinxed it.
Cat Noir tried pushing the buttons multiple times, only for nothing to happen. "Looks like the elevator short-circuited."
"I wish. Brace yourselves boys." Ladybug said as the elevator door opened to reveal Mayor Bourgeois, standing in the middle of the hallway with a rope made out of sausages in hand.
"Royal hotpot with its giant string of smoked sausages!" the mayor exclaims, swinging his weapon around.
"Looks like we have a food fight." Ladybug said.
"I prefer my sausages with Mashed potatoes." Cat Noir said, taking his staff out. With weapons in hand, the heroes charge at the villain, only to get their ankles wrapped around the mayor's rope. He flings them into a hotel room, where they crash to the floor.
"Welcome to the world famous Suite 36 of this hotel," Mayor Bourgeois presents.
"If we're not careful, we'll be the mashed potatoes!" Yuma said.
"You're no competition, Ladybug." The mayor whipped his weapon at them, successfully wrapping it around Cat Noir's wrist. He pulls on the linked sausages, jerking the superhero forward.
"Cat Noir!" Ladybug cries.
"Now, for the finishing touch…" the mayor grins. He tries to show off by twirling his weapon around, but he displays a look of shock when it gets tangled with the chandelier hanging above his head. He pulls on the sausage rope with all his might, causing it to crash down on him and causing the rope to wrap around him.
The four of them stared at him with blank expressions on their faces. "…Uh, thanks?" Yuma says.
Cat Noir then looks up and points at the hole in the ceiling. "Shall we go and find the head chef?"
On the roof Kung Food saw everything and growled in anger.
"Pea brain! Useless! My recipe will not be perfect without those three! Capture them! And don't mess up or you end up in soup!" Kung Food said to Alec and Marlena.
"Yes master." They both said running off.
"My hair is ruined! Do you know how long it took to style?" Chloe complains.
"That won't be a problem soon." Kung Food said.
"Ladybug help me!" Chloe screams as Kung Food laughs.
Back in the hotel Cat Noir extends his staff through the hole and the three heroes climb up it to the restaurant level.
"We're almost there." Ladybug said.
"Next stop, the roof." Yuma said.
"Good thing too, all this fighting is making me hungry." Cat Noir said when a projection of Kung Food appears.
"Kung Food is being very generous, instead of choosing between Cheese and Dessert you get both." Kung Food said as Alec appears with a cheese crossbow and Marlena had a bow and arrows made of desserts.
"Watch this spectacular demonstration of the famous Flying Cakes." Alec said as Marlena drew her bow and fired multiple arrows at them.
Jumping out of the way the duo of heroes drew their weapons, while Yuma grabbed a tray and used it as a shield to deflect the arrows.
"Our guests seem to have a few tricks up their sleeves. How will they fare against the Stinky Cheese Bomb?" Alec fires balls of cheese Ladybug jumps out of the way as Cat Noir smashes one with his staff, but when he does the cheese explodes in his face.
"Aw! Oh man this cheese really stings your eyes." Cat Noir said.
Running towards Marlena, Ladybug delivers a powerful kick to her bow to get Marlena's attention. As Marlena draws her bow Ladybug gets behind Alec so when she shoots her arrow. Ladybug ducked out of the way, making it hit Alec instead.
Grabbing one of his cheese bombs, Yuma throws it at Marlena's feet and it explodes blinding her.
"Alright boys time for the next course." Ladybug said as they ran to the elevator and went up to the roof, unaware that they were given new orders.
On the roof Kung Food was examining his soup.
"Ah, the perfect temperature, now to add the final ingredients." Kung Food said, as Jagged Stone and Mayor Bourgeois were standing on the edge of the pool. It was then the elevator doors slid open to reveal the heroes running out, before seeing Chloe about to get reeled into the soup.
"Ladybug, what took you so long!? Now get me down from here!" Chloe yelled.
The Paris duo were about to act when Kung Food suddenly spoke up. "Nuh, uh, uh!" They turned to the possessed chef, a wide grin appearing on his face. "That brat is the main ingredient! If you try to save her, then I will need substitute ingredients!" He said, as pointed towards his minions, as Alec and Marlena appeared, before they joined Jagged Stone and Mayor Bourgeois on the edge of the boiling broth.
"You would cook your own minions?!" Cat Noir exclaimed in shock.
"I would." Kung Food simply replied, causing the three to gasp in horror.
"Cheng Shifu, don't let Hawkmoth control you! I know you're more honorable than this!" Ladybug pleaded.
"I am not Cheng Shifu, I am Kung Food — the Greatest Chef in the World! And nobody will stop me from finishing my Brat Soup!" Kung Food exclaimed.
Just then, the 59 mark that Kung Food had on his head began to glow bright again, causing Yuma and Astral to gasp in shock. "That symbol…! He's not under the control of Hawkmoth…!" Astral said.
"He's been possessed by a Number!" Yuma finished.
"Huh? What are you talking about? What exactly are Numbers?" Ladybug asked.
"Numbers are extremely dangerous cards, as they can easily amplify the darkness and desires of their holder user, and possess them." Astral explained, causing the duo's eyes to widen. "But how did a Number get here in the first place?"
"I don't know, but there's only one way to stop and save him!" Yuma said, as he then pointed to the chef. "Kung Food, I challenge you to a Duel!"
"A Duel?" asked Cat Noir, not sure about what he meant.
"Now, why would I duel you, boy?" Kung Food said, not impressed.
"Because I have something you want!" Taking out a card from his deck box, Yuma then showed it to him, revealing it as his Number card, Number 39: Utopia.
"Oh!" Kung Food said, a smirk forming on his face. "So you too have a Number in their possession!"
"That's right. If you win, you can have it! But if I win, you let all these people go!" Yuma declared.
The chef thought about it for a while, wondering what he should do. He was compelled to finish his soup, but now that he knew that Yuma had a Number card, his plans changed. Smirking, he then said to the duelist, "Fine then. I'll beat you, take your Number card, and then use its power to make sure my soup is perfect in all ways!"
"I hope you know what you're doing, Yuma." Ladybug said, not sounding confident.
"Don't worry Ladybug, because I'm feeling the flow!" Yuma shouted and threw his duel pad in the air. "DUEL DISK, GO!" The disk connected to his arm and two folds popped out.
The number symbol on Kung Food's head shined brightly, as an orange duel disk formed on his arm, with the number 59 engraved on the top. (think of the Duel Disks from Yu-Gi-Oh GX)
"Duel Gazer, let's roll!" Yuma said, placing his gazer over his eye, as he then turned it on.
Strangely enough, Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous glowed slightly, as their left eye irises changed color, with Ladybug's going from blue to red while Cat Noir's green cat eyes became orange-yellow, with his Irise being golden.
"Augmented Reality Vision Link established." said a computerized voice, as the hero duo gasped in shock, seeing holographic effects projected around them all.
"LET'S DUEL!" shouted Yuma and Kung Food, ready to start their Duel.

Author's Note:
This idea popped in my head a while ago. Wanted to write chapters for my other stories, but lost motivation trying to write them. The constantly changing work schedule didn't exactly help either. Don't worry, they are not canceled, just gonna need time to get back into writing them. I wanted this Paris to be in the same universe as Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal, but Zexal takes place in the future, so I had to improvise. Intro will change at a later point, just need to figure out what kind of decks Ladybug and Cat Noir would use. (Feel free to give suggestions) As for how Kung Food's Number got into the world of the Miraculous, that will be explained in the next chapter.
For the meeting between Yuma/Astral and Ladybug/Cat Noir, that was the best I could come up with. Fun Fact by the way; Out of all the 100 original Number's, 30 of them never appeared/got mentioned in the anime/manga, Number 59 being one of them.
