Chapter 7: The New Bird in Town

With the cars in Neo Domino City driving around the highways, the Bloody Kiss is streaking past all of them at 70 mph. The high wind speeds blew the girls' hair underneath their helmets. Yasuko is trying to get to the destination on her DPS in her duel disk.

The Bloody Kiss swivels around buses and cars on the highway with expertise, thanks to Akiza driving the handles. They only needed to worry about Sector Security pulling them over. She takes a turn to the exit and then heads down into the slums of the city. The duel runner rushes past the buildings while Yasuko holds on tight for the ride. She rechecked the DPS and could see about four red dots on the map, which showed nearby Lancers.

"Do you know how this works?" Akiza called loudly over the rolling winds.

"The Dimension Positioning System was given to me by Declan, and he told me that since we're going to be traveling across the dimensions, he installed this device into my duel disk to track some of my other duelists' duel disk," Yasuko explained, her voice louder than the winds. "It lets me track some people in their duel disks, and since the DPS was working now, my guess is they've just arrived."

Akiza makes a sharp right turn over the building. "But why now?" Akiza wondered. "If it's supposed to track your people, shouldn't they have already come with you days ago?"

Yasuko wonders what kind of modification Declan did to the teleportation card he invented. "I don't know if it's possible, but if I can guess," she said. "Time flows differently in each dimension. Whenever it feels like seconds is days. I came here when I sent Zuzu and Yugo back to this Synchro Dimension a few days ago in my Standard Dimension." She checks the DPS to ensure they are on track to finding the other Lancers. "And I didn't bother looking into the DPS 'cuz I didn't think it would work here."

Akiza used the navigation map on Bloody Kiss to drive the duel runner around the roads and streets in the slum. "I'm amazed you brought some people along," she stated. "How'd you never mention them to me or Lua and Luna?"

"Why bother?" Yasuko responded. "Most of my team is useless. One's an idiot, the other's got sandals, a rebel who doesn't like to play teammate, an alternate universal Zuzu who is supposed to be a defector, a child, a ninja, another Entertainment Duelist, an impractical leader, and then…Yuya." She had never doubted Yuya's capabilities, but the rest were not the perfect fighting team since none of them got along, especially when it came to Shun and Serena.

"But he's the only one I've got," said Yasuko. "And that's why I must find them, or my home is doomed." The beeping noise on her duel disk was louder, indicating the Lancers were nearby. "We're getting closer. Take a left right here." Yasuko pointed in the direction of the street where the Lancers were.

Akiza did what she was instructed and turned left to the road's next side. As they turn, Akiza twists the handle, bringing Bloody Kiss to a halt and making Yasuko jerk at the seat.

"Whoa!" Akiza gasped, her body jerking once before they nearly crashed into a wall. "This was never here."

Yasuko and Akiza looked up and saw what appeared to be a giant wall with a single eye. Upon seeing the wall, Yasuko was incredulously angered. "What the hell?!" she exclaimed, gesturing to the wall. "This is not the way in!"

Akiza checks her navigation to see if they're on the right route. "No, this is the right way in," she said. "Somehow, Gate Blockers are active."

"Gate Blockers?" Yasuko inquired.

"Monsters used by Sector Security to block off any exits," Akiza explained.

"Wait, monsters? As in, Real Solid Image monsters?" Yasuko inquired. "You mean you can make monsters appear in this dimension through your duel disk?"

Akiza glances over, one eyebrow raised in confusion. "Yeah? Don't you have that in your dimension?" she queried.

"Yes, but not as real as this. Ours was only real through giant stadiums," Yasuko responded.

"Really?" Akiza quipped. "That's interesting." She taps a button for the navigation system to readjust their alternate route to wherever the Lancers are.

"Okay, we can make it around if we hurry," said Akiza.

"Then let's go," Yasuko responded.

AKiza takes control of the handle and twists Bloody Kiss toward the alternate route. She turns left and speeds up, moving so fast that the buildings around them blur. "Do you think your people may have gotten in trouble?" Akiza asked. "Those are Gate Blockers. And everyone knows that Sector Security uses Gate Blockers to capture criminals or fugitives."

"I'm sure they're going to be just fine," Yasuko assured. "Just as long as I get to them."

DUEL:

Sylvio Sawatari and Serena

VS

Sector Security 3x

The duel between the two Lancers, Serena, and Sylvio, is not doing so hot against three Sector Security officers in their duel. Sylvio just got FTK in a single move against Sector Security. It was only the beginning of the duel, and one of the Sector Security officers ended up dealing damage to Sylvio without even attacking. The blast was recoiling back hard on Sylvio, sending him flying to the ground with no more life points.

(Sylvio: LP 4000 0)

Despite being their first turn, Yuya couldn't believe how fast Sylvio got knocked out of the duel. "Sylvio was taken out with one hit!" he exclaimed.

Once the Sector Security has dealt with Sylvio, he points at him. "You there, seize that boy and take him into custody."

"Yes sir," said one of the officers. He grabs Sylvio by the arms, holding him back against the wall.

"Ow! Hey, let's go of me!" Sylvio exclaimed, grunting at being pinned down. "Who do you think I am? I'm the next mayor's son!" Sylvio struggles to break free from the officer after getting FTK by him.

Serena wasn't expected to face some of these officers who specialized in dueling. She had to admit they're as good as they live up to her other Fusion counterparts. "So, this is how the Synchro Duelists work their way," she stated. "Looks like it's gonna get harder."

The officer points at Serena. "Now you know what you're facing," he said. "Stop resisting and coke along quietly."

"You think that will make us blink?" Serena dared.

"Serena!" Yuya called.

"No need to worry," Serena assured. "This is within my expectations."

Despite the level of confidence in the girl's voice, Yuya doesn't believe it will end well for all of them. "I…I didn't mean it like that," he said.

As he was going to approach Serena, he felt something tucking his school jacket. He turns around, glancing at Riley. The child looked terrified as Riley's grip tightened around the sleeves.

"W…where is my big brother?" Riley asked. "My brother?"

Yuya doesn't know how to respond to someone as young as Riley. The child looked afraid. He doesn't know what to say to the poor kid. "Riley…" he whispered. Turning back to Riley, Yuya said, "Don't worry, Riley. I'm here, okay?" He grips the child's shoulder to give the kid assurance.

Trudge saw Yuya making a gesture of comfort for the boy. He's a bit confused about why Yugo is acting like this. It's not for Yugo to be this calm, especially towards a child. Nonetheless, he still has orders. "Don't worry about the kid, Yugo," he said. "We'll take good care of 'im."

Yuya turns to the officer who is standing before him. "Wait, hold on a minute, I'm not Yugo," Yuya stated. "I'm Yuya."

Trudge makes a scoff. "Don't try and fool me, you little punk," he replied. "I know your face by a mile away."

"No! I don't know anything about you," Yuya denied. "We only just got—"

"Save it when I bring your ass in for interrogation, Yugo," Trudge retorted. "And don't think these fancy new things you and your con pals conjured cannot save you."

Yuya felt a surge of anger rolling down his back. One of his teammates is already out and taken by the officers. Serena is currently battling against two other officers. Now, he's dealing with an officer who knows Yugo but has mistaken him for that guy. Yuya was left with no choice and pulled up his duel disk. The yellow blade glows out as Trudge does the same thing.

"DUEL!"

DUEL

Yuya Sakaki (LP 4000)

VS.

Tetsu Trudge (LP 4000)

Since the Action Field Spell, Crossover, is still live by Sawatari, Yuya takes the chance to grab Riley and then hops up to one of the platforms while holding Riley's hand. As they got into the roof to escape the officers, Trudge seemed to have the handle of the new floating platforms. He jumped until he was the first to get to the roof, blocking Yuya and Riley.

"You're not getting away this time, you little punk," Trudge retorted. "You and your criminal pals are surrounded."

Trudge's persistence angers Yuya. He had to assume whatever beef this officer had with Yugo, it must be very serious. He doesn't know what to do with him. His teammates aren't going to be any help, and any of the players are somewhere in the city.

If only Yasuko was here right now. She'll know what to do. As he was lost in his thoughts, he recalled something his mother, Yoko, mentioned before he departed the Standard Dimension.

"Listen closely. No matter where you go, don't forget your smile."

Yuya had an epiphany in his mind. He cannot forget his origins in dueling. "That right," he thought to himself. "This is the time…The time when I need my smile!" He felt the corners of his mouth curving upwards. Returning to when he dueled Yasuko, they resolved their issue, and she agreed to come to the Synchro Dimension. Now, he has to do the same for these officers.

Yuya takes one deep breath to get his bearings together. He starts the duel with his turn.

Turn 1: Yuya (5x cards)

"Ladies and gentlemen!" Yuya announced. His bold statement brings Trudge and the other officers to his attention. "Step right up! You're about to see something g that's never been seen in this world!" He kept the same smile as he always did whenever he duels. "I, Yuya Sakaki, son of the pioneer, Yusho Sakaki, will present the greatest entertainment duel as I can!"

The reactions from everyone were a mixture of surprise and skepticism. Trudge gaped, seeing Yuya acting very strange.

"What on earth is that little punk doing?" he wondered. "Doesn't he know he's about to go to prison?"

Even Sylvio was dumbfounded by Yuya. He had always expected Yuya to be more realistic with their current situation, but this is bizarre. "Is he stupid or something?" Sylvio inquired, giving Yuya a raised eyebrow. "What is he doing at the time like this?"

"I'll be taking the turn first," Yuya declared. He checks his hand to see what options are available for him. He knows what to do and takes out one card from his hand. "For my first move," I summon Performapal Hip Hippo!" Yuya Normal Summons Performapal Hip Hippo (ATK 800/DEF 800). Once he decides, a pink hippo with a red vest and a magician's hat appears on the field.

Yuya held Riley's hand tight as he was about to do something insane. He jumps off the platform with Riley screaming in fear of falling down so high. "Don't worry, you've got nothing to be afraid, trust me," he assured. Right on target, Yuya and Riley land on the hip hippo. "Giddy up, Hip Hippo!"

The monster did what Yuya told it to do: make a big leap over the other floating platforms before they moved up higher.

Trudge was baffled by Yuya's performance. "What in the hell is that?" he wondered, thinking of how Yuya could ride a monster like that in real life when it was just a Solid Image. He notices the hippo jumping higher and higher into the air. He realizes what the monster is trying to do. "Hey! Where do you think you're going?!" he demanded.

"Hey, you all seemed nervous meeting Hip Hippo for the first time," said Yuya. He takes the hippo over the building before falling down to one of the floating platforms. The hippo follows down a path facing the platforms like stairs.

"And to top it off, I'd like to introduce you to a couple of dance girls of mine!" Yuya picks out a card from his hand and activates the Quick-Play Spell Card: Hippo Carnival. "It's show time!" Due to the effect of the spell, Yuya Special Summons three Hippo Tokens (Beast/EARTH/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) in Defense Position, and three colored hippos, one pink, orange, and yellow, all appear on the floating platforms doing their dance.

Baffled, Trudge couldn't believe what he was seeing. He thought Yugo would take it seriously, but this duel is ridiculous. "What the hell are they supposed to do?" he inquired, his mouth ajar in disbelief.

"Glad you asked," Yuya responded. "With these Hippo Tokens on the field, you cannot declare any attacks on my monsters except for these tokens, so let's enjoy their alluring dance!" The hippo tokens were dancing like there was no tomorrow. All the officers there to capture Serena and Yuya didn't have any words to describe what they saw. Once they make their final routine, the hippo tokens give a heart kiss.

"Did you enjoy that?" Yuya asked. "That's the end of Act 1. I humbly end my turn." Yuya bows his head to end his turn with a small gesture.

Turn 2: Trudge (5x cards)

Trudge couldn't believe it with his own eyes. He thought he had Yugo now, but he wondered what happened to him. "Is this really Yugo?"he asked. In fact, Trudge wasn't even sure if this boy was actually Yugo or if it was actually Yugo making a scene. Regardless, he still had orders and would bring him and the girl in no matter what.

"It's my turn," said Trudge, drawing a card. He checks it and smiles confidently. "And from my hand, I summon the Tuner monster! Jutte Fighter!" Trudge starts by Normal Summoning his monster Jutte Fighter (ATK 700/DEF 900). Once he makes his first move, a short bear man with a kimono gown appears on the field.

Yuya recognized that monster as a turner, confirming that he and his comrades were in the Synchron Dimension. "A tuner monster. So this really is the Synchro Dimension," he said.

"And since I control a Warrior monster on my field, I can Special Summon Fire Flint Lady from my hand!" Since the jutte tuner is a Warrior, Trudge Special Summons Fire Flint Lady (ATK 100/DEF 100) from his hand in Defense Position. The next monster Trudge summons is a smaller warrior wearing a dark blue kimono and a drape over her head e-bike holding a small bell.

"I turn the level 2 Jutte Fighter with my Fire Flint Lady!" As Trudge goes for a Synchro Summon, the jutte warrior turns into two green rings to scan the flint lady, allowing it to turn her into a single white orb before the ring flares off a bright light.

(2 + 1 = 3)

"I Synchro Summon! Goyo Defender!" Trudge tunes the level 2 Jutte warrior with the flint lady to Synchro Summon Goyo Defender (ATK 1000/DEF 1000). As Trudge summons the monster, a short, stubby man wearing kabuki makeup, holding a riot shield, and holding a hook weapon appears on the field.

"And with Goyo Defender on my field, I activate its special effect to Special Summon one Goyo Defender from my Extra Deck, and that's just what I'm going to do!" said Trudge. Once he decides to start getting another defender, Trudge Special Summons a second Goyo Defender in Attack Position. "Now, I will do the same thing and activate my second Goyo Defender's effect!" Once again, Trudge Special Summons a third Goyo Defender in Attack Position.

The defenders have Yuya and Riley surrounded, with Trusge standing on the platform with a smug-looking smile. "You're surrounded, Yugo," he said. "There's no chance of escape now." He removes another card from his hand to activate the Spell Card: Guard Up Calling. "And since I control three Synchro monsters, I can activate this! The Spell Card, Guard Up Calling!" The spell card reveals itself, depicting a man holding a walkie-talkie calling for reinforcements while taking cover behind a wall while being fired upon. "This Spell Card lets me Special Summon one Synchro monster from my Extra Deck so long as the level equals the total of all my Synchro monsters! And since both Goyo Defenders are level 3, I think I know who I am going to Special Summon!" He throws his hand out. "Go! Goyo Warlord!" With the Spell's effect in play, Trudge Special Summons Goyo Warlord (ATK 3000/DEF 1900) from his Extra Deck in Attack Position. The next monster Trudge summons is another man wearing kabuki makeup on his face, but this monster has a chain armor mail around his chest, wearing a black robe and shoulder pads while he wields a small axe with a hook at the end.

Yuya observes the number of Synchro monsters in Trudge's field, feeling anxious about what the officer will do next. "So, this is the Synchro Dimension," he said, observing Trudge.

"You're done, Yugo!" Trudge yelled. "Since I have three Goyo Defenders on my field, Goyo Warlord gains 500 ATK for each EARTH Warrior monster I control!" A yellow aura flares around the warlord, allowing the monster to gain attack power.

(Goyo Warlord: ATK 3000 4500)

"True, but since I control three Hippo Tokens, you can't attack my Hip Hippo!" Yuya pointed out.

Trudge lets up a smirk. "Why do you think I summoned him for? I activate Goyo Warlord's special effect! This card lets me target and destroy one of your monsters by tributing one I control!" He points at the hippo tokens and the hip hippo on Yuya's field. "I tribute my Goyo Defender to target your puny little hippo!"

(Goyo Warlord: ATK 4500 4000)

The warlord spins his axe before raising his arm to throw the hook in the air. He brings it down so it can hit the first defender, creating a seismic quake to destroy Yuya's monster on the field. However, Yuya wouldn't let it happen and spotted an Action Card on another platform.

Yuya stands up and jumps up to the floating platform before swiping the Action Card on the surface. "I activate the Action Card! Cover Light!" Yuya activates the Action Spell Card: Cover Light. "Whenever you activate a card effect that destroys a card on the field, I can tribute one monster I control instead!" He gestures to the orange hippo token. "Do your thing! Hippo!" The orange hippo token hops off the platform she was on and disperses like fireworks, allowing the seismic quake to stop.

Trudge was taken back from what Yuya just played. "W-what was that!? What the hell was that?! You can't play a Spell Card during my turn! It's not even a Quick-Play Spell!" he accused Yuya of cheating the game.

Yuya held a finger. "Ah, but you seem to misunderstand something, Officer," he responded. "This is an Action Duel. It is not a Master Duel. We're free to use any Action Cards as you like!"

Trudge tightened his jaw, infuriated that his effect was canceled. "So beat it. I still can up Goyo Warlord's effect up to three turns!" He does it again. "I activate Goyo Warlord's special effect again!" The warlord throws his hook again, tributing the second defender, and aims the hook for the hip hippo.

(Goyo Warlord: ATK 4000 3500)

"But don't forget! Cover Light's still active!" Yuya beamed.

This time, the yellow hippo token jumps in the way and explodes into fireworks after the effect is canceled.

"So beat it! I still have one more!" Trudge then does the same thing again, and the warlord sacrifices the third defender to target and destroy the hip hippo. Still, the green hippo blocks the effect by taking the hit from the hook, exploding into fireworks again.

(Goyo Warlord: ATK 3500 3000)

"Now that all three of your puny tokens are gone, I can still attack with my monster!" Trudge boasted. "Battle! Goyo Warlord, attack Hip Hippo!" The warlord spins its axe over his head before throwing it down to slice the monster.

Yuya reacts quickly and jumps back on the hippo to search for more Action Cards. The monster hops around the platforms before approaching a building near them. Yuya spots an Action Card hanging at the roof's edge and bends over to swipe it. "Action Spell Card! Evasion!" Yuya activates the Action Spell Card: Evasion. "When my monster is targeted for an attack, I can negate that attack!" As the axe approaches, the hip hippo makes a barrel roll in mid-air. "Rolling Hippo!" Riley screams, holding Yuya tight as the hippo lands safely on a rooftop.

"Don't worry," Yuya reassured. "There's nothing to be afraid of." He gives Riley an assuring smile to show he is safe. "Listen, you better hold on tight cuz we're going in for a bumpy ride." Riley did what Yuya asked and held close to his back. "Did you enjoy it? I showed you the spectacular display of fireworks!"

Despite showing a performance, neither duelist cared. Trudge is suspiciously scowling at Yuya, and Sylvio doesn't like seeing Yuya goofing off when officers attack them.

"You're still running your entertainment racket right now?!" Sylvio accused. "Don't you realize the situation we are in?!"

Serena (LP 4000)

VS.

Sector Security Officer (LP 4000)

Even Serena had to agree with Sylvio in their circumstances. One of her teammates was captured, and she's the only one taking this duel seriously. The officers are good. She can admit that, but Serena won't be caught like Sylvio.

Turn: Serena (5x cards)

She takes a card and Normal Summons Lunalight Blue Cat (ATK 1600/DEF 1200) from her hand. "I summon Lunalight Blue Cat!" As Serena summons a monster, a blue feline cat girl with an orange crescent moon mask on the right side of her face appears on the field. She takes another card and Sets it on her field.

"Then, I Set a card face-down and end my turn!" Serena concluded. "Now, show me the power of the Synchro Dimension." She had to know the true power of the Synchro Dimension. If she thinks they are useful as she has seen, then Serena could only bet how good the Sector Security is.

Yuya Sakaki (LP 4000)

VS.

Tetsu Trudge (LP 4000)

Back to the duel with Trudge and Yuya, since Trudge's attack was negated, he has no more plays for the turn and decides to do one thing for his Main Phase 2. "Damn, what the hell just happened back there," he said.

"That's an Action Card, you dumbass!" Sylvio called, earning an angry scowl from Trudge.

"What?!"

"You heard me, that was an Action Card! You didn't notice that the whole start of the duel rained down card, and when there are Action Cards on the field, you can use them to expand your strategy!" Sylvio explained.

In Serena's head, she had to mentally curse Sylvio for giving away such a critical advantage over their opponents. In fact, she was royally pissed right now. If Yasuko were ever here, she'd been shouting a huge fit at Sylvio. "You dumbass, you just gave away the upper hand," she thought, trying to refocus on her duel with her own opponent.

And just like what Serena had known, Sylvio's ranting raised Trudge's eyebrow with intrigue. Now, he understands why Yuya was able to deflect his attack. "Oh…" Trudge then had a smug look, feeling enticed to try out these so-called Action Cards that Sylvio was talking about. "You mean…" He looked around the rooftop from where he was standing and saw what appeared to be an Action Card on the edge. "Like this?" He bends over and picks up the Action Spell Card: Twice Battle!

"Thanks for the hand, brat," Trudge scoffed. "I activate the Action Card! Twice Battle!" Trudge plays the Action Card, which verifies the activation. "This lets me target one monster on the field, and that monster can attack twice in this battle!" Trudge points at the hip hippo that Yuya and Riley were on. "Battle again, Goyo Warlord, destroy that puny hippo!" The warlord was given a second chance to make the attack and jumped forward with his axe spinning from the chains.

The axe manages to hit the hip hippo, destroying the monster with an explosion that sends Yuya and Riley down. Yuya lands hard first on his back, but then Riley crashes into him, grunting in pain after taking heavy damage to his life points.

(Yuya: LP 4000 1800)

Sylvio was angry, seeing Yuya getting beaten by a cop. "You let him shave off 2200 life points at once? You idiot!" he yelled. "What was the point of getting me a one-turn kill!?"

Yuya gets back up on his own, but he can't believe that an officer like Trudge in the Synchro Dimension would get a child hurt. "This is awful. He doesn't show mercy, even with a child along," he said. Yuya looked up to see Riley standing beside him, also staring back. "You don't look hurt, that's good."

"Not as much as what I'm about to do to you, Yugo," Trudge called out.

Yuya glances up at Trudge on the rooftop. Again, with the wrong name, Yuya doesn't know how often people have misidentified him for someone else.

Serena (LP 4000)

VS.

Sector Security Officer (LP 1600)

While Yuya struggled in his duel against Trudge, Serena was still in the midst of her duel against her officer. Already, he's got lower life points, but he still has his Synchro monster, Marksman Heiji Type 0 (ATK 2400/DEF 2000), in Attack Position.

Serena gives off a smirk, now all set for the finishing blow. "Since this is the best you can do, I'll just have to end it now," she said. "My turn!" Serena draws a card from her deck and activates the Spell Card: Polymerization. "I activate the Spell, Polymerization!" she declared. I fuse Lunalight Blue Cat and Lunalight Purple Butterfly." With her blue feline cat on the field and her purple butterfly in her hand, Serena makes a Fusion Summon, sending them both into the swirling vortex of red and blue.

"The cat loitering in the blue darkness, and the butterfly with purple poison. Swirl in the moon's gravity and be reborn with new power! I Fusion Summon! Appear, the beautiful beast at dances in the moonlight! Lunalight Cat Dancer!" Serena fuses Lunalight Blue Cat and Lunalight Purple Butterfly to Fusion Summon Lunalight Cat Dancer (ATK 2400/DEF 2000) in Attack Position. From the swirling vortex, a light purple cat dancer wearing a violet dance dress, a lunar mask, and a purple-violet feather headdress appears on the field wielding two knives.

The priced dueling Serena was taken back, unaware of this strange Fusion Summon he'd never seen before. "Fusion Summon?" he inquired.

Even Trudge, focusing on his duel with Yuya, saw the Fusion Summon. Like the officer, he did not know anything about the Fusion Summon. "Fusion Summon?" he repeated. "What's a Fusion Summon."

With her best monster out on the field, Serena makes quick work of her opponent. "And from my hand, I activate the Spell, Lunalight Perfume!" Serena activates the Spell Card: Lunalight Perfume. "I Special Summon one Lunalight monster in my graveyard," she said. The spell card rips open a portal on the ground, allowing Serena to Special Summon Lunalight Blue Cat from her graveyard in Attack Position. "I Special Summon Blue Cat!" The blue feline cat lady reappears on the field.

"When Blue Cat is Special Summoned, I can target one Lunalight monster I control, and its ATK points are doubled until the end of the turn," Serena explained. "I choose my Cat Dancer!" As she explained, the attack power of the cat dancer is doubled, making the cat dancer stronger than any monsters on the field.

(Lunalight Cat Dancer: ATK 2400 4800)

"I activate the effect of Lunalight Cat Dancer!" Serena declared. "By tributing one Lunalight monster in my field, it can attack all of your monsters twice!" Serena chooses to tribute the blue cat on her field, making the blue cat disappear into dust, which sprinkles all over the float dancer. "I tribute my Blue Cat!" Once she has everything done, Serena goes into her Battle Phase.

"I attack Marksman Heiji Type 0 with Cat Dancer!" On Serena's command, the cat dancer raises her palms forward and shoots a yellow beam. "Full Moon Crester!" The laser beam hits the marksman, but it's not destroyed instantly. Instead, the marksman exploded after getting impacted, sending a shockwave through the air to blow away the officer's life points. He grunted after getting hit with the shockwave and was on the ground, defeated.

(Sector Security: LP 1600 0)

WINNER: Serena

Trudge couldn't believe what he was seeing. A little girl, a teenage girl, easily defeated one of his officers. "No way! How'd she beat one of us?!" Trudge felt angered, glaring at Yuya for not cooperating with him. "Don't you know that resistance will only increase your sentencing?"

Yuya makes a nervous chuckle, unsure how to respond to someone with whom Yugo has beefed before. "Well, we just want you to hear us out…" he uttered.

Suddenly, Riley notices something at the Gate Blockers, catching Yuya's attention. "What is it?" he asked.

Yuya Sakaki (LP 1800)

VS.

Tetsu Trudge (LP 4000)

Right then, Riley pointed at the set of Gate Blockers, and Yuya looked over. Before he knew what was up, the Gate Blockers were glitching out, turning on and off until the Gate Blockers disappeared. Upon its disappearance, Yuya couldn't believe what he saw. A platoon of Sector Security officers blocked the main road. More Gate Blockers were glitching out, revealing more officers. That's when Yuya realized something. They're surrounded by dozens of Sector Security officers in their area.

"Here, too?" Serena quipped. She makes a small smirk, intrigued by how the stakes are getting higher. "Calling reinforcements for four people, huh? You people are cowards." Serena looks behind her, also seeing more officers with their duel disks active.

Yuya is sure they cannot get out now. The duel was all just a stall to let reinforcements come and take them. Yuya can't duel against a platoon of Sector Security officers at the same time he's dueling Trudge. He had to think of a way to get out of here.

"If I hadn't been one-turn killed, then we would've taken on these guys no matter how many they are," Sylvio commented. "Damn, you people are lucky."

From the rooftop, Trudge was very confident now that backup had arrived. Seeing how hopeless Yuya was with all these officers surrounding them, he scoffed. "It's over, Yugo," he stated. "These guys are going to bring your ass in, and I'll be sure to see you get sent off into the Facility."

Yuya is sure Trudge's right. They're surrounded, and there's no way out of his duel unless he can beat Trudge and help the others escape. "At this rate, we're really doomed," he thought. "The only way to break through the blockade…" Yuya has no choice; he has to beat him.

Turn: Yuya (3x cards)

"My turn!" Yuya draws a card from his deck. When he checked the card, he saw the one he hoped for. "Good, this should do it." He takes two cards from his hand to make the Pendulum Summon. "I set the Pendulum Scale with my Scale 1 Performapal Monkeyboard and Scale 6 Performapal Guitartle!" And with that, Yuya activates his Performapal Monekyboard (Scale 1) and Performapal Guitartle (Scale 6) at both edges of his blade, creating the rainbow "PENDULUM" on the board.

Once Yuya has set the Pendulum Cards, the monkey in a unicycle with piano keys for teeth and a blue title shaped like a gut air with a pika-dot bow tie and a magician's hat floats upwards in the pillar of light. A giant pendant hovers above the circle, seining back and forth.

There were no words to describe the sight that is beholding them. Trudge and the Sector Security officers are speechless, astonished by this new and strange phenomenon. Without any delay, Yuya proceeds with his turn.

"Now, I can Pendulum Summon any monsters whose levels are between 2 and 5."

"That's right!" Sylvio exclaimed. "Show them the power of your Pendulum Summon!"

Yuya would've done that, but instead, he did the opposite. "But first, I activate Guitartle's Pendulum effect," he stated, much to Sylvio's confusion. "When there's a card placed in its designated Pendulum Zone, I can draw one card!" Yuya draws a card from his deck. He hopes to read the right card to turn the thing around. "Draw!" By looking at the card he had drawn was the Spell Card: Performance Hurricane. "It's here!" With the spell card now in his hand, Yuya does another activation. "And I also activate the Pendulum Effect of Performapal Monkeyboard! When this card was activated this turn, I can add one level 4 or lower Performapal monster from my deck to my hand!" The monkeyboard tapes a keynote on its teeth, allowing Yuya to add one Performapal monster to his hand, and he chooses to add Performapal Pendulum Sorceror. "Now, I can summon any monsters between levels 2 and 5 simultaneously!"

The giant pendant swings left and right as Yuya makes his Pendulum Summon. "Swing, pendulum of souls! Draw the arc in the sky! I Pendulum Summon! Come forth, my monsters!" The portal in the sky opens, allowing Yuya to Pendulum Summon Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer (ATK 1500/DEF 800), Performapal Drummerilla (ATK 1600/DEF 900), and Performapal Trumpanda (ATK 800/DEF 800).

The three monsters are the pendulum sorcerer wearing a red coat and hat holding a hypnotic watch, a gorilla that has drummed for a chest, and a panda with a trumpet. The drummerilla pounds its chest to make drumbeats, and the trumpanda blows its trumpet.

"And when

All the officers were completely speechless after seeing the new kind of summoning, something they'd never seen before.

"A Pendulum Summon? What is that?" Trudge had no words to describe what he was seeing. "Is this really Yugo?" He starts questioning whether it was Yugo or someone else who looked like Yuya.

As for the boy, he checks on Riley. "What do you think? Glad they're on our side," he said. Then, Yuya notices something odd about Riley. The little boy doesn't have any response to the monsters on the field, just still and looking afraid.

Sylvio laughs with pride, knowing Yuya has his opponent right where he wants them. "Frightened, are you? That's a Pendulum Summon," he boasted, the sound of his arrogance being noticeable.

Even so, the officers won't back down with all of the surrounding the duelists.

"How'd we break through?" Serena wondered.

"Serena," Yuya called. "I'll draw their attention, and while I do, take Riley and run." He didn't want to risk getting the little boy in more trouble than they were in.

"What?" Serena whispered.

"Just trust me, okay?" Yuya assured. He can see Serena's hesitation in her eyes, but she quickly nods to agree with whatever Yuya has to do. "Now, your attention, please! The show is about to reach its climax!" He takes a card from his hand to activate the Spell Card: Performance Hurricane. "I activate the Spell, Performance Hurricane! For each Performapal monster I control, I can target one card my opponent controls back to the hand!" As the spell activated, the drummerilla and the trumpanda made musical noises. At the same time, the pendulum sorcerer started dancing along with the warlord. They were in the rhythm, and the dance was baffling Trudge.

"What the hell is this?" Trudge demanded. "What the hell are they doing!?" The warlord disappears after the spell activation resolves, and with that, the monster vanishes without a trace.

It was the best chance for Serena to get Riley out of there. "Now, Serena! Run!" Yuya called. However, Serena did the opposite. She stands still with her duel disk, ready to take on any of the officers.

"I'm not running away! We'll beat them together!" Serena exclaimed, much to Yuya's shock.

"Serena, please!" Yuya begged.

"I won't let you escape!" Trudge retorted. "When an EARTH Warrior Synchro monster leaves the field with a card, I can activate this monster from my hand!" Trudge takes out a monster handtrap: Gyro Gnome. "Gyro Gnome! By sending this monster from my hand to the graveyard, I can target one monster you control and then Special Summon any Warrior monsters whose level is totaled to that monster!" Trudge sends his gnome monster to the graveyard. "And I target your Drummerilla so I can Special Summon these from the grave! Goyo Defender and Jutte Fighter!" Trudge targets the drummerilla to Special Summon Goyo Defender and Jutte Fighter in Defense Position, allowing a dark hole to rip open, summoning the defender and the jutte warrior back.

"No more games, Yugo! Take them into custody!" Trudge ordered.

The officers have completely cornered Yuya and the rest of the Lancers. Serena was backed up against Yuya. Riley was so scared that he grabbed Yuya's arm, screaming in fright at the sight of the officers. They were trapped. They had nowhere to run.

As they were trapped, a noise blared off. The noise was faint, but it started to grow louder and louder. Yuya looked around, trying to find where the noise was coming from. Then, everyone paused on what they were doing, also hearing the noise. It sounded like it was a duel runner. The noise started to become even louder until the sky was getting darker, even though it was still the middle of the day. Thunder booms in the sky like a cannonball as the noise gets louder. Lightning cracks the cloud that was converging on them.

Then, a loud male voice sounds off from nowhere.

"Spread your ebony wings and strike the ground with the speed of lightning! I Synchro Summon!" A bright lightning cracks through the sky, and a new monster appears. "Rain down, Assault Blackwing – Raikiri the Rain Shower!" Right in the middle of the duel, a Synchro monster, Assault Blackwing - Raikiri the Rain Shower" (ATK 2600/DEF 2000), appears on the field. The monster is a hybrid of a man and bird with a black feather wing on the left and a metallic robotic prosthetic wing on the right with crow claws for feet and wearing semi-samurai armor holding a katana. The raikiri swoops down and nearly swipe Trudge with his katana. He grunts and falls on the rooftop.

Yuya was perplexed about what that monster was. "What was that?" he thought. Then, from his peripherals, he saw what appeared to be a black duel runner heading this way at the crossroads. It wasn't just one duel runner, but five duel runners speeding toward them. The officers saw them approaching fast and broke off to avoid getting hit, including the one holding Sylvio.

Yuya realizes that the one in the black is leading the other duel runners. The rider extends an arm out, and within a split second to count, the rider snags Yuya's arm over. He gasped, taken back at the speed of the duel runner pulling him in. Soon, the other duel runners caught Serena, Riley, and Sylvio along with them, speeding past the blockade.

"Hey!" Trudge shouted, getting back on his feet. "Where do you think you're going?!" His voice dies down as they move further away from the blockade. The raikiri monster hovers over the officers and follows the duel runners out.

Yuya glanced up, seeing the rider of the duelist barring markings under the helmet. He had to know who it was that saved them. The rider glances over his shoulder and makes a small smile of gesture before facing forward. And just as the duel had ended, so too are the Lancers, leaving nothing behind in their wake.

Hi, sorry for the late update, but I'm having writers block to make words together into a chapter story, and because I was losing motivation. My computer is slow and it does tend to take a while dealing with grammar checks and spellings, but here's the chapter update. Now we're about to get into more interesting stuff. And for those who have read this story for a while or new, I am going to be posting some OC cards as the chapters go on because there's still little or no lack of supports for some decks, and Action Cards are very limited, so I'll just make some as we get along. Anyways, I hoped you are all having a very good Christmas, and stay tune for the next chapter. If you like what you've read so far, then don't forget to leave down a comment on what you thought of the story, what needs to improve, and what you want to know. So, have a happy holidays, and Merry Christmas!
