It was Christmas morning, Angela woke up and smiled. She loved Christmas because that day, her whole family was gathered under the same roof like when she was married and everything was going well in her relationship. Since her divorce, she was the matriarch of a family made up of two renowned homicide detectives and a plumber who was becoming well-known, and she adored her family, which she knew had become unusual after her children found the woman. of their dreams because his eldest daughter Jane had married her best friend Maura Isles, his second child and first son Frankie had married a black woman Nina Holiday and his third child and second son Tommy was in a relationship with an Asian woman Susie Chang Angela remembered the times when her children introduced her to the people in their lives
Start of flashback at Maura's house
Jane and Maura had decided to invite Angela, Jane's mother, to dinner at their house. They wanted to tell him some big news: they had been a couple for several months. Jane was nervous, she didn't know how her mother would react. Maura tried to reassure her, she told her that Angela loved them both and that she would be happy for them. They had prepared a delicious meal, with roast chicken, grilled vegetables and apple pie. When Angela arrived, she hugged them warmly and complimented them on the meal. They sat down at the table and began to discuss everything and nothing. Jane was waiting for the right moment to tell him the truth. She took Maura's hand under the table and smiled at her. Midway through the meal, Jane began:
"Ma, there is something I want to tell you. It is important.
"What then, Janie ?
Maura and I...
Maura and you what?
Maura and I have been a couple for several months. We love each other Ma"
Angela was speechless. She looked from Jane to Maura, who were staring at her anxiously. She smiled, got up from her chair and took them in her arms giving them a customary hug and said
" Finally ! It was time ! For as long as you've been looking around! Even a blind man would have seen that you loved each other since you became friends and only God knows how many hours I spent praying for you to admit that you loved each other."
Jane and Maura were reassured, thanked Angela warmly and they knew that Frankie and Tommy would be happy for them when they told them the next day that they were a couple.
End of flashback
Then a few months after the Jane-Maura couple became official , during the Rizzoli's Sunday lunch, her first son Frankie announced that he was getting into a relationship with Nina Holiday. Angela just like Jane and Maura and even Tommy knew it was going to happen because it wasn't a secret and everyone saw that Frankie was very in love with the beautiful African American woman and the latter spent a lot of time with Frankie. TJ was overjoyed to have an extra aunt.
Jane, Maura and Frankie and Nina later decided to get married on the same day and when that day came, Angela's pleasure was doubled because she saw two of her children getting married to the woman of their dreams
Tommy two months after the new Rizzoli couple returned from their honeymoon had announced at one of the Rizzoli Sunday lunches that he had something important to say
Start of flashback at Jane and Maura
"Ma, Jane, Maura, Frankie, Nina I have something very important to tell you and besides I thank you TJ for keeping your word not to say anything to your Nonna or your aunts or your uncle. It's very good, son, to keep a promise.
Jane says
"Does TJ already know?"
Yes because he is the first concerned
Angela says
"For God's sake, Tommy tell us what's going on!"
Well there you go… I am in a relationship with a woman that I love very much"
Everyone congratulated Tommy then Frankie said
"But who is it? Why isn't she there?
Tommy replied
"She's waiting in my car, it's just that you're going to be a little…surprised"
Jane says
" Surprised ? For what ? Is she older than you? She's one of Ma's friends or... Please no Tommy, don't tell us that you're in a relationship with one of Pa's old girlfriends or that you're back with Lydia."
Tommy smiled and made a reassuring gesture and said
"No, no none of that, although I admit that if Madame Gasprezzi had proposed to me I would not have said no to her.
Angela says
"Tommy! She is ten years younger than me and she is a friend of mine. Certainly she is a pretty woman but she is married! Fortunately it's not her. »
Tommy said still smiling
"As for Lydia, she disappeared from my life for years and that's fine. The woman I am in a relationship with is a single woman who has been a client of my business. We hit it off and then we saw each other again and then we fell in love but when you see her, it will surprise you"
Nina says
"Dammit, Tommy, don't make us languish any longer, make her come!" »
Tommy took his phone and called his girlfriend and told her
"You can come, darling!" »
Two minutes later, someone knocked on the door and Tommy went to open it then came back holding his girlfriend's hand and said
"Here she is, no need to tell you who she is, you know her well"
Everyone was surprised and Jane said
"Susie?" It's really you ? Are you Tommy's girlfriend? »
Susie says
" Hello everybody. I'm actually Tommy's girlfriend."
Angela tells Tommy
"You should have brought your girlfriend in at the same time as you instead of making her wait outside!" This is what Frankie did when he came to formalize his relationship with Nina. Did you think we were going to reject her? That I was going to reject her? Tommy, your sister is married to a woman, your brother is married to a black woman while you being in a relationship with an Asian woman is not going to shock me, far from it. »
Then she said kindly to Susie
"Welcome Susie. Please sit down and tell us how you met."
Susie sits down and says that one morning long before both weddings, she had a big problem with the plumbing in her apartment and she needed a plumber urgently and she didn't want to get ripped off because she didn't knew nothing about it and at one point she remembered that Jane and Frankie's brother was a plumber so she looked up Tommy's number on the internet because she knew that Jane and Frankie worked and she called him and explained her problem and she tells him that she worked with Jane, Maura and Frankie. Tommy comes right away and in half a day fixed Susie's plumbing. It was while watching Tommy work that she fell in love with him, certainly it was a bit cliché, the customer who falls in love with the plumber who came to solve the problems but that was exactly what had happened. Tommy and her had talked and then seen each other again and again and then dated and became a couple and TJ adored Susie who acted like a mother to him

On Christmas morning, Jane and Maura's house was filled with the excitement typical of this time of year. Maura wasn't a believer but for nothing in the world since she knew Jane and her family she wouldn't have missed a Rizzoli Christmas. The Rizzolis had introduced her to what a real Christmas was and she loved it and since then Maura loved Christmas and even more since she was in a relationship with Jane. When it came time to put up the decorations it was hard to know who was more excited between Jane and Maura as both women were having so much fun and Maura was looking forward to the day when the whole Rizzoli family would cut down their Christmas trees.
Angela went into the main house and prepared breakfast as she did whenever her whole family was together. Frankie and Nina had slept at Jane and Maura's house and Tommy, Susie and TJ had slept at Angela's house at Jane and Maura's friends house.
Everyone woke up shortly after and dressed in their Christmas pajamas, the Rizzoli family went into the living room of the main house. The garlands were twinkling, the tree was richly decorated with presents at its base which were wrapped in pretty paper and the smell of ginger biscuits, Christmas cake and hot chocolate hung in the air, it was a traditions of the Rizzoli family and despite her divorce, Angela had decided to keep this tradition and Jane despite being addicted to coffee (she readily admitted it) drank cocoa every Christmas morning. There was another tradition that Angela loved: her children never consulted each other about the gift they gave her as they did when their parents were married and Angela loved that because it doubled the surprise effect and it proved that they had spent time finding the ideal gift and in fact the Rizzoli siblings had extended this tradition to the gifts they gave to each other and to their brother's or sister's spouses. It was only for TJ that they consulted each other since TJ was still very young and still believed in Santa Claus or at least pretended to believe in him because he was a very intelligent boy and was starting to understand certain things.
Everyone went to the Christmas tree and Angela smiled, it reminded her of when her children were little. TJ got his presents first and after opening them, thanked all his family and Angela after receiving a hug from TJ sat by the fireplace and watched TJ give hugs to everyone then it was his turn to receive his presents and Jane handed him a small package wrapped in gold paper.
"Merry Christmas Ma!" »
Angela smiled and undid the ribbon and opened the gift. Inside was a box containing a small baby bodysuit with the words: "Baby Rizzoli" on it. Angela looked up at Jane, with tears in her eyes, and asked movedly:
"Which one of you…is pregnant?"
It's me Ma.
Jane? ...you…you're…pregnant?"
Jane nodded, moved and said
"Yes, Ma. Maura and I are expecting a baby."
Angela stood up and hugged her daughter then Maura and said
"Oh, my darlings! It's wonderful!"
Angela wiped away her tears and added:
"I'm so happy for you both."
Meanwhile, Frankie and Nina watched the scene with amusement. They also had a secret to share. Nina approached Angela and handed her another package.
"Merry Christmas, Angela!"
Angela opened the package and discovered a box which also contained a baby bodysuit on which it was also marked "Baby Rizzoli" and Angela asked with wide eyes.
"Wait...Frankie? Nina's pregnant too?...Are you pregnant Nina?
Nina smiled and said
"Yes Angela, I'm pregnant!" We're going to be parents, just like Jane and Maura."
Angela was so happy that she cried tears of joy and said while wiping her tears of joy
"Two Rizzoli babies!" My God, it's even better than in my wildest dreams"
Angela hugged Frankie and Nina the same way she hugged Jane and Maura
Finally, Tommy Rizzoli, who was in a relationship with Susie Chang, came forward with one last package and said a little nervously
"Merry Christmas Ma!"
Angela undid the wrapping paper and discovered a box where there were two small mannequins representing a white man and an Asian woman holding hands, Angela took them and saw underneath a book of Italian recipes and a book of Chinese recipes specially designed for a wedding. Angela understood, looked Tommy and Susie straight in the eyes and almost dropped the books and Angela said very moved:
"Tommy… You… Are you… going to… get married?" »
Yes my ! Susie and I are getting married!
Angela asked her son
"When did you ask?
It was a week ago when I had to clear the snow from my house. Susie came to help me and then I found this moment so ideal, the sky was starry, there were Christmas decorations lighting up the snow so I decided and Susie accepted
Did you give yourself the word? I almost had a cardiac arrest! Oh my children, I'm so happy, so happy but Tommy don't forget that I want more grandchildren and you have to give TJ a brother or a sister
Susie says
"That's not all Angela, there's something else
Are you also pregnant?
No not yet. Tommy and I are waiting until we're married to have a child
So what is it? »
Susie handed over an envelope with Christmas decorations and said
"Merry Christmas Angela"
Angela opened the envelope and saw some legal papers, read them and Angela put her hand to her heart and looked at Susie and asked her
" It's true ? Susie, is that true?
Yes Angela it's true. Tommy and I talked about it and we came to an agreement and it's proof that I will never leave Tommy"
Jane, Maura, Frankie and Nina asked what was happening and Angela too emotional couldn't answer and gave the envelope to Maura and Susie said
"These are adoption papers. After I marry Tommy, I want to adopt TJ so that he has a mother, I mean he has a mother who loves him and takes care of him. Tommy told me all about Lydia who hasn't heard from her since she dropped off TJ, who was a baby, at your door over 4 years ago. TJ loves me a lot and sometimes calls me mom Susie and I want to make it official"
TJ ran to Susie and gave her a hug and said
"I'll soon be able to call you mom in front of everyone!" »
Then he said to his grandmother:
"Nonna, I'm going to have a mom now!" »
Everyone unwrapped their presents and they really liked TJ's gift for his aunts. For Maura it was tortoise pajamas with a shell design on the back and a pair of tortoise slippers. Maura smiles and Jane laughs and says
"Oh Lord! I'm going to feel like I'm sleeping with Bass."
TJ says
"Here's your present Aunt Jane"
Jane unwrapped her gift and this time it was Maura who started laughing because TJ's gift for Jane was pajamas with Yorkshire Terriers and there were also slippers with a Yorkshire Terrier head on them and Maura said imitating Jane:
"Oh Lord! I'll feel like I'm sleeping with Jo Friday! »
Nina says
"How about you put on your new outfits?" »
TJ says very happy :
" Oh yes ! Please Aunt Jane! Please Aunt Maura! »
TJ was so happy that Jane and Maura went to their room and came back wearing their new pajamas and gave TJ a big hug and quietly Maura asked Tommy where he bought them so she could get some more. Tommy gave her the address and Maura thanked him.
The day passed in absolute happiness. Angela couldn't be happier and so, this Christmas, Jane and Maura Rizzoli's home was filled with laughter, joy and promises of love and new beginnings. Angela was looking forward to next Christmas because when that day comes, she will have two more little children and her third child will be married and maybe her future daughter-in-law will be pregnant. The year that was approaching would be a year of happiness, she knew it and on this subject, she was not wrong.

I hope you liked this story.
If I didn't elaborate on the announcement of Frankie's relationship with Nina it's because it's the only announcement we see in the series (even if it wasn't perfect) so there in my story it was useless to do more
And yes, I set Tommy up with Susie. And after all, why not ? I would have preferred to see a Tommy-Susie couple than to see Jane in a relationship with Davies (Ew! I still don't accept this fact)
As for Lydia, well I think she's a character who can be used or disappear. There I chose to make it disappear.
