I hope you all had a good day whether or not you celebrate Christmas as I am posting this on Christmas Night here in Scotland. For a little Christmas recommendation as an extra present; may I suggest one of the episodes of the new season of What If which is What If Happy saved Christmas which is basically a self aware homage to Die Hard starring Happy with references to A Christmas Story and Jingle All the Way.
Excited as what arrived for me on Christmas Even was my Marvel Legends figure of Spidey in his suit from the end of No Way Home and he is about the size and scale of my Legends figure of the homemade suit so it will go great at my Spidey toy display.
Peter arrived with everyone at Hammer Industries; he along with everyone found that their workplace was sectioned off as a crime scene. There was Mason coughing as he went to face them all and said "okay everyone... I am sure that you all have heard the news of what went down and... I have been asked to bring you all somewhere else..." Mason muttered as there was mutters from everyone as they all followed him through the halls and then reached a room and inside there was mutters as there was Kingsley there along with a glaring arms folded Sasha Hammer. "You all know Doctor Kingsley and I will give it to our company's owner and CEO... Ms Sasha Hammer!" Mason then told him and they started clapping awkwardly as no one else was clapping.
"Thank you Mason and like you said you all probably have seen the news but if you haven't then allow me to explain why your usual workplace is being treated as a crime scene... Last night a masked criminal calling himself the Prowler broke in and turned off the security cameras and erased everything... He was thwarted and escaped and Spider-Man and the Black Cat had intervened to take care of him and his accomplices and there was also another new 'hero' who helped them... One who disappeared through some magic portal thing... Someone using the Hobgoblin suit along with the wingsuit that you were all working on and had signed NDAs on... Plus used a certain Emerson quote that Doctor Kingsley here had used in front of all of you and when I questioned him; he said that he never used it in front of anyone else who knew about the tech or suit that was stolen. Funny." Sasha said as MJ gave a look towards Ned. Now she was then glaring as she shouted out "Now people are wondering if this new Hobgoblin is a hero but I have my own word for whoever is in that suit... THIEF! Someone stole company property and we are investigating who and I have reason to believe that one of you is at least involved! Consider yourselves suspended and we will be contacting all of you to be questioned... Anyone I hear who had helped steal the suit or is withholding information will be not only end up fired but will be lucky to be hired as a janitor! and the charges will be so numerous!" Sasha snapped at them as they looked nervous.
"But Ms Hammer... Didn't the flightpack have a tracking device..." Peter ended up speaking out and Sasha faced her.
"Mr Parker. I don't think you are this thief because you are drawing attention to yourself for bringing that up. That or you're an idiot thief." Sasha then said as Peter coughed as Flash snickered. "To answer your question... That's one of the reasons why we pretty much know that someone hear helped and it wasn't just some thief who happened upon the technology. They knew what they were doing as they had hacked into the flightpack, disabled the tracking device and then cut it out as we found it when we went to the last known location." Sasha then explained as they then took this in.
"It won't only be Ms Hammer that you will be dealing with as this Hobgoblin used my use of the quote as well as my designs and name without so much as a credit!" Roderick then snapped out as Sasha then glared at him as she had him sit down. Sasha then dismissed them as they then started walking out taking it in and Peter almost bumped into MJ as she seemed dazed.
"Sorry about that... MJ... Are you feeling alright?" Peter asked as MJ looked at him.
"Yeah... Just a little freaked out by what happened... That's all..." MJ then replied as she was walking off...
"...I promise that I'll fix this..."
"Fix what?" MJ asked looking at Peter as he was confused. "You just told me that you promised you would fix this..." MJ asked as Peter took this in.
"Parker never said anything... I was here..." Ned then said appearing right besides Peter as MJ just stared as Peter then watched them walk off together.
Later in the week a man was out in the streets looking at something on his phone and smirking when up from the sky swooped in the Hobgoblin as the man noticed and yelled. He then tried to run but the Hobgoblin picked him up up by the arms.
"Skip... You call yourself... You think that you should be allowed free after what you did..." Hobgoblin told him in fury as Skip was panicked.
"Come on man... The parents got a restraining order on me and I have a tracking bracelet... It didn't even get far before I got told on..." Skip begged as Hobgoblin was reacting in fury.
Hobgoblin soared up into the sky and then dropped him.
Peter was on his bed looking at an old photo as there was a knock on the window and then in came Felicia dressed in her Black Cat suit. "So are we up for patrol..." Felicia asked as a greeting as Peter opened up the window to let him in.
"Sorry Felicia; found this and couldn't help..." Peter apologetically told Felicia showing her the photo of a young Ned in front of a tree fort with young Peter obscured by the photo; probably as a result of the spell.
Young Ned was in a wizard's cloak at the tree fort as he was facing Peter with a paper bag mask over his head with holes cut out for eyes. "I have found you in your secret headquarters Bag-Man! Now Mr Magic will destroy you!" Ned then shouted out.
"Yeah... We liked to play superheroes in this old tree fort... He was back then first told by his Lalo of the magic in his family... Helped him to use Dr Strange's portal ring when I had stolen it off from him... Kind of like the one that the Hobgoblin probably uses..." Peter then said as he paused as Felicia could tell what he was thinking about. "Ms Hammer said that someone working there knew what they were doing when they hacked into the fightsuit... I had Ned help me hack into my suit given by Tony Stark to disable some protocols... He was there when Doctor Kingsley made the quote that the Hobgoblin told us..." Peter muttered as they saw the Hobgoblin fly by the window.
"Looks like there is your old friend..." Felicia said as she then tossed him his suit and he quickly got changed. They were slinging out and then managed to catch up with the Hobgoblin.
"Hello again fellow heroes; you feel like teaming up again..." Hobgoblin asked as Peter then faced him up in the air. They looked down and saw an armoured car being chased by police officers.
"Want to team up... Ned..." Peter asked and the Hobgoblin just swooped down. Peter caught up with the armoured car and saw that there were masked criminals in the seat and then pushed his way through to push the criminals out and got the van to stop. The Hobgoblin then took out the flaming sword and used it to tear through the van with the rest of the masked criminals inside being shown and running out.
Felicia then helped Peter take them out as Hobgoblin landed and used the strength to knock the rest of them out as police officers and Damage Control officers came in. "Ms Hammer reported that suit and tech stolen and you wouldn't have to happen to know about Mr Steven Wescott who was seen dropped by you and is now in critical condition?" one of the officers asked the Hobgoblin as they had all the weapons directed at the mysterious vigilante.
"He deserved a harsher punishment than what the justice system gave him..." Hobgoblin ranted and went back into the air with Peter giving chase with his webs once he had his eyes widened and got over his shock.
"Look... I don't know much about this Wescott guy... We can talk this over... Running away will only make things worse for yourself... I know a really good lawyer who can help you as you kind of stole a rich company's property and what you did with the man will give Damage Control an excuse to hunt you down... Don't make things worse for yourself Ned..." Peter said pleading as the Hobgoblin used the Sling Ring to open up a portal and then zoomed in through it and got through as it disappeared before Peter could reach it.
He then got down on a building with Felicia catching up to him; "He got away..." Felicia then said as Peter shook his head.
"Not really as I know who he is now..." Peter muttered thinking that this got more difficult.
