However at Maleficent's wedding the emperor's legions crashed the party. The emperor was among them. They tried to take Maleficent hostage as the emperor himself put his sword to Maleficent's throat.
"I won't let you kill the woman I love most of all", Corvo said as he killed the emperor.
When that happened his men fled in chaos as the elven priest pronounced Corvo and Maleficent as man and wife.
They disappeared together and Maleficent was so happy and thankful to have Corvo back into her.
