Iruma walked up with everyone else, finding the nine students of 1-A that weren't with the big group already there. "Hey, everyone!" He waved out.
"Denki, Kyoka, you passed!" Momo waved over to her friends. "I had no doubt that you would!" She hugged them both, and they both got really red in the face. "I wish you would've told me about your decision before we started however."
"Sorry, I sort of thought of it at the last minute, but I totally nailed it!" Kaminari pumped his fist in the air. "The guy never saw it coming!"
"Yeah, real asshole that hated all of us for semi-decent reasons." Jiro twirled her earjacks between her fingers. "Most of them being because Bakugo."
"Fuck you, if I care what others thought i'd be as pansy as the rest of you." He huffed.
"There were no pansies in the Bakusquad today! Kaminari, you were the man!" Kirishima cheered.
"Heck yeah, Bakusquad for the win!" Ashido joined the cheers as well.
"We are not calling it that!"
"Yeah, Bakasquad is a terrible name."
"Bakusqua-STOP DOING THAT!" What, he was telling the truth. It's terrible to call yourself stupid. "Guess I shouldn't be too surprised you managed to pass." Bakugo turned to him, only for him to turn away.
"Yeah, when it comes down to it, this was all just dodgeball with extra steps." Iruma thought about it.
"I guess with your borrowed quirk anything is possible." Iruma paused mid thought as Bakugo walked away. Part of him wanted to correct it by stating it wasn't borrowed, it was given. The other part was freaking out because HE KNEW! On the plus side, there was one person he 'technically' didn't say anything to, so he didn't feel as guilty.
"I heard what he just said." Shoto walked up to him "Should we worry about that?" He whispered.
"Probably…but not for now." Iruma turned to his friend. "He doesn't seem like someone who talks about other people's secrets."
"You have a point." The boy agreed. "Also we should rest up. The next phase is going to start soon." Right, time to eat lots of food!
"Come on, admit it." Joke grinned, poking at her old patrol mate. "Your daddy instinct kicked in with this class. They're your family now."
"I will decapitate you. I'm legally qualified to stab people with these for legitimate reasons." The grouch replied.
"You still have that wonderful sense of humor that I adore! Come on, I saw that spark of pride in your eyes."
"That's my annoyance. They took too long to regroup. We're training extra hard after this."
Total dad. He would make a great husband! "In all seriousness, I can't believe you didn't tell them about the U.A crushing. Over half of UA's second and third years usually don't pass."
"There was no need to. If they can't handle something as simple as that, they're not ready to deal with the real world." He stated bluntly. "Plus Shiketsu only brought in four students from what I saw, it's not like anyone else was competition." Oh, was that a jab at her job?
"I'll have you know all my students pass as well. There's a million kids out there in the world who want to be heroes. What matters isn't the prestige of a school, it's the strength of will…"
"Three of your students passed." He pointed at the board.
"What the...how the fuck did I miss that?!" Damn it, she looked like an idiot, and not intentionally!
"Missing information? And here I thought you were a pro." He got up. "When you're done making a fool of yourself, I'm gonna come back with a juice pouch, I didn't bring nearly enough." That man made it so hard to love him at times…but that was part of his charm.
Kirishima drank some water with Todoroki. Usually he would hang out with Bakugo, but he needed to chill out before this next part … not that he would do that literally of course, he didn't come here just for the joke and-'Wait, why am I going on a tangent in my own head?'
"Why do you think he keeps glaring at me?" He was taken out of his strange train of thought by the single comment.. "The guy from Shiketsu. We didn't even run into each other during the test, so he obviously has no problem avoiding me."
"Well, did you do anything to him during the recommendation exams?" Kirishima asked.
"Not really. I just remember him congratulating me and I sort of of just ignored him. I wasn't in a speaking mood much back then."
"Tell me about it. Before, you wouldn't talk to anybody aside from a quick comment or two reacting to Bakugo's yelling." Now the boy had full conversations like this. They grew up so fast. "Have you considered just … talking to him?"
"You can do that?" Todoroki asked. "Just ask why someone hates you?"
"Yeah! Iruma did it with Bakugo the second day of class and Bakugo now….tolerates him a little more than he use to." That may have been a bad example. "Maybe all he wants to do is talk to you. He might drop the glaring if he actually knows what you're thinking."
The boy shrugged. "Can't be worse than Bakugo." That was fair. The two walked up. "Hey there, do you mind if I ask you a question?" Todoroki asked the tall behemoth of a student. "Did I do something to offend you…?"
"Buzz off." The man spoke with a cold glare. This wasn't going to be good. Time to get between a possible explosion.
"Hey, hey, let's all keep a cool head here." Kirishima put himself in the middle of them. "I know Todoroki might've not been the nicest person back when you first met him, but he's really nice when you get to…"
"I don't hate him because of what happened in the race during the recommendation exam." Oh nice, for a second he thought there was going to be confrontation. "I hate him because he acts just like his father, Endeavor."
Never before had he seen Todoroki so quirk to catch on fire and freeze over from pure rage alone. "Would you like to repeat that, you son of a bitch?"
"That right there. The glare. You have the same hateful look in your eyes he has." The man spoke. "Just because you came in second place you looked at yourself with disappointment and the world with anger, not even taking the time for a decent conversation." Okay, a bit harsh. "You're the reason I left UA, Endeavor Jr."
"I am not…!" Todoroki's left side was starting to flare up so much it was reaching the ceiling.
"It's been nice meeting you, but we should get back to planning ahead for the next exam, can't spend too much time relaxing. See ya, have a manly day!" He pushed Todoroki out of the way. "Please do not kill our competition."
"How does Bakugo calm down? I feel like I need to murder him on principal alone."
"By …" By murdering someone, or getting so angry he goes full circle. The latter was never good. "By cursing all the time." He half heartedly suggested.
"Alright. Fuck that asshole. He's a stupid, shitty bitch." Todoroki paused. "Huh, that does feel fucking good." He might've created a whole new monster to deal with.
Ochako sat with Toru, keeping Iruma safe as he devoured a large plate of food. They would have just stayed at the table, but there was a food limit in place. The reason they were protecting him? The bitch that just walked back right into the room again while waving her hand. "Hey guys, miss me?" She was still wearing that Shiketsu disguise.
"Cut the crap, Toga, we know it's you under all that." Ochako called her out. "Your body got all slimy just like it did back during the training camp. We know your quirk is transformation."
"Whoa now, it's 'Camie' when I'm like this. I've been acting like her and the name feels nice on me." She smiled. "So, how's it been goin gal pals? Any new fun stories to tell me about dorm life?"
"Oh yeah, plenty, like how we got all the security to surround the blood sucking bitch to make sure she didn't hurt anybody." Toru held out a knife. "I heard the story gets a bit messy."
"You already know how I like it, Toru-chan." She hated how they couldn't threaten this girl with anything. "Oh, I'd love to get more people involved, except I'm afraid you won't be telling anybody about it.~"
"Why's that?" Toru asked suspiciously. "What's stopping any of us from getting a teacher or someone to haul your ass to tartarus?"
"Because you want to get your licenses, and if a villain were to infiltrate such a high security location in the middle of an exam, not only will everything shut down, the public's trust in hero schools altogether will get thrown out the window, which means you'll all probably have to look into changing careers when your parents pull you out." Toru growled.
"... Then why aren't you?" Ochako asked. "You could have been killing students left and right to show the world that 'heroes are incompetent' and everything." It seemed to be the League's motif and brand.
"For starters, Shiggy decided killing kids isn't the way to go, it's one of his few rules." She giggled. "And besides, I never came here to do that. My actual goal is to learn, act, and get some blood. Speaking of-" She handed a needle over to Iruma. "You can do it yourself, I don't think your friends trust me."
"Why not, you're just taking the exam right?" He asked obliviously.
"Oh Iruma-kins, you really are so charming and sweet~." Oh boy, she wanted to throw up so badly at the moment. "I'm afraid I'll have to leave soon though. My friends need me for something else later, and I can't miss it. Sorry."
"Eh, that's alright. Maybe they'll let you hang out with us later." This boy was too naive for his own good. "I'll head into the bathroom. I'll be right out with the blood." Iruma left, leaving just the three of them.
"The sweetness, the kindness, none of it is fake." She swooned like the little school girl she dressed like. "He even saw past my disguise. It's like he looks right into your soul and sees the real you, and just…accepts everything that's there regardless of anything." Toga turned to them. "That's why you both love him so much, isn't it?"
"... I feel specifically called out, and I hate that I relate to it so much." Toru groaned. "So what, you're going to try stalking him now or something?"
"Yep, unless either of you wants to have some fun." She gave a suggestive wink that sent shivers down her spine.
"Don't think that just because we can't do anything now, we won't stop you eventually." Ochako growled. "If you hurt him, my friends, or if someone so much as gets a papercut and I find out you were in the same room as them, I'm kicking the snot out of you and punching you into orbit."
"Like I said, My job here isn't to hurt anybody. I just want to get to know my soulmates a little better." She giggled. "Isn't this exciting!? Three besties united by the greatest force in the universe: Love!" Kill her now.
"I'm back!" Iruma came out of the bathroom, the syringe now full of his red life fluid. "I tried to fill it up as much as possible. I hope this is enough."
"It's more than enough…it's the best gift anyone has ever given me." The girl, standing tall thanks to the heels she was wearing, stood over Iruma and pressed her lips against his cheek, lightly biting. "Next time I'll be sure to get you something extra-special~."
"Leave before I strangle the life out of you…..slowly…!" Toru growled what she wanted to say.
"Oooh, promise?" Seriously, hand her a rope.
Minoru glared at his friend, who lived in luxury right now. "Umm … are you sure this is okay … in a public place?" Kaminari was getting a lap pillow. The absolute traitor.
"Call it a reward for making it this far … and let your mind think of what'll happen if you pass the exam in full~" SERIOUSLY!? How did this guy get so lucky in such a short amount of time!?
"Is life ever going to give me anything for my trouble?" He waited … and waited … "Well screw you too, universe."
"That's going to bite you." He turned to Jiro, drinking an energy drink. "Karma can be a bitch when you least expect it."
"You mean like how constantly making jabs at Kaminari led him to Momo, and now you're feeling left out." He snapped back at her.
"I am not jealous of Momo dating Denki."
"Then why are you using his first name?" Mina jumped into the conversation. "I felt romance in the air, so I'm joining before Tsu breaks it up."
"You say that, but so far you haven't picked up any boys yourself."
"I'm still feeling it out. So far the only candidate for our class is Dark Shadow in terms of decent boyfriend material, and I'm not about to date a quirk." How did Dark Shadow outrank him!? "Besides, you've been getting pretty cozy with both of them lately, not just Kaminari. They even both use your first name now."
"Everyone uses Momo's first name ever since she helped us study. We drank the woman's tea for god's sake." Maybe he should have faked being dumb to get more attention. It worked for Denki and Iruma. "Look, I'm trying to figure out this whole balance between being nice and snarky, so can I figure that out before I touch this conversation again?"
"Fine, but don't think I won't forget about this conversation. I still don't know who you're more into." Neither did he. She seemed pretty tomboyish, so maybe she was into that girl action …
"Alright people, who's ready for the Final Phase." The voice spoke up before they blinked. "Good, a city just got destroyed, save it." The walls fell over, revealing a literal city of ruins. These guys worked WAY too fast. "You'll be judged by who you save, the Help Us Company, actors paid to be in danger and judge you on how you save them." … Seemed a little niche for a job application.
"Wait, people can get paid to be in danger!? That's a job that exists!?" Iruma looked super annoyed and angry. It was freaky to see it on his face. "Why the heck did I never learn about this!?"
