raining ended on Saturday, Ochako was looking forward to falling on her bed and sleeping until class on Monday.
"Meet me at the dojo tomorrow morning," Bakugou said once they reached their dorm floor. Ochako almost burst into tears.
"What? It's our day off tomorrow!" She protested.
"So? We need to train," Bakugou huffed as he began to turn away from her.
"No, I need a day to recover."
Bakugou turned around and glared at her. Ochako couldn't back down. If she didn't have a recovery day, Ochako was going to go crazy.
"Plus, it's girls' night!" Ashido yelled from down the hallway, obviously overhearing their conversation.
"Damn," Ochako said under her breath. She'd forgotten about it. Once a month they had a girls' night in one of their dorm rooms to let loose. "That's right!" Ochako faked her best excited face and gave a thumbs up to Ashido who went back into her room.
"What's going on with your face?" Bakugou asked with a chuckle. "Don't like girls' night?"
"I'm tired," Ochako sighed and turned away from him to rest in her dorm room a little before the fun began.
"Meet me in the common room at 2:00pm tomorrow then," Bakugou said behind her.
"Sure, I guess," Ochako mumbled without looking at him. Of course she wouldn't get a full day off. At least she'd get to sleep in.
Ochako fell onto her bed, still in her workout clothes. The next thing she knew it was dark outside and there was a soft knocking at the door.
"Tsu," Ochako whispered with a stretch. She recognized her knock. "Come in."
Tsu opened the door.
"Are you joining us, Ochako?" Tsu peeked through.
"Yeah, yeah. Who's room is it in this month?" Ochako sat up and yawned.
"It's in Ashido's. I'll let you wake up. Are there any snacks you want?"
"I'll eat anything." Ochako shook her head trying to wake up faster.
"Okay, see you soon."
Tsu shut the door, leaving Ochako in the dark again. She quickly changed into pajamas then packed up her sleeping gear and toiletries. Ochako left her dorm, wishing she could sleep forever, and walked down the hallway to Ashido's room. The door opened before she could knock.
"Yay! Ochako is here! Now we're just waiting on Jirou and Tsu," Ashido said as she pulled Ochako into her room.
Yaomomo was pouring tea and Hagakure was setting up a game.
"What's that?" Ochako pointed to the cards in Hagakure's hands.
"It's Yaomomo's homemade truth or dare!" Hagakure said excitedly. "You have to answer the trivia question on it. If you get it right, you answer the truth question on the back. If you get it wrong, you have to do the dare!"
"Trivia?" Ochako whimpered. "Can we maybe do something with a little less brain power?"
"Oh, this one isn't real trivia," Yaomomo said awkwardly.
"Yeah, she made one with, like, really hard questions on it. I vetoed that," Ashido told Ochako. "Girls' night isn't for homework, so Yaomomo quickly made one that was about us and our classmates. Much more fun!"
Ochako nodded then set up her sleeping area on the floor next to the gear that was obviously belonged to Tsu. Right as Ochako finished, Jirou opened the door, giving a quick wave to the group.
"Hi, everyone," Jirou said as she set her stuff on the opposite side of Tsu's sleeping area.
"Girls' night, girls' night, girls' night!" Hagakure cheered.
"It is nice to spend time together," Yaomomo acknowledged as she passed out tea. Jirou nodded but was distracted by her phone. Ashido gasped.
"No! No boys!" Ashido exclaimed.
"It was a text. Calm down," Jirou muttered but clicked her phone off and put it by her pillow.
"Oh, Ashido? Some of the cards deal with the boys. Is that okay?" Yaomomo asked, stopping mid-way in passing a cup to Ochako.
"Yes, that's fine. I'm only making a fuss about it because we're surrounded by the boys! They don't need to invade girls' night."
"It was a text," Jirou repeated. Tsu knocked on the door and Jirou stood up to open it for her, helping Tsu bring in the snacks she'd managed to scavenge in the common room.
"I found those dried shrimp you like, Ochako! Then I picked up some seaweed chips and some peas. Plus, I found some Kit-Kats and Pocky for everyone."
"Great haul, Tsu," Ochako praised, reaching for the dried shrimp with delight.
"Thanks, Tsu! Yaomomo has a new game for us tonight so once you get settled we'll start," Ashido said as she sat down on her bed next to Hagakure.
"Okay, sounds good, ribbit."
Jirou and Tsu distributed the snacks between the girls. Ochako picked out a strawberry Kit-Kat and some regular Pocky to go with her dried shrimp. After everyone had their goodies, Tsu sat on her sleeping bag next to Ochako, chewing on an almond Pocky.
"I'm ready if everyone else is," Jirou said, opening up her cookies and cream Pocky. Hagakure explained the rules to the group again and then picked up a card to start.
"What is Jirou's favorite instrument to play?" Hagakure read aloud. "Uh, bass of course!"
Jirou nodded with a smile. Hagakure squealed in victory and turned over the card.
"Truth: Who do you think is the nicest boy in class? Oh, that's kind of tough. For me, it's between Ojiro, Shouji, and Midoriya."
"Ojiro is very sweet," Yaomomo agreed.
"Shouji is so quiet. I feel like if we're going with niceness then it's definitely Ojiro. Midoriya is nice and all but sometimes he can be so intense with all that muttering he does," Ashido rambled as she played with the strings on Hagakure's hoodie.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Then it's settled! Ojiro is the nicest," Hagakure said, placing the card to the side for a discard pile. "Your turn Ochako!"
Ochako leaned over and picked up a card.
"What color are Yaomomo's eyes?" Ochako read aloud. She looked up at Yaomomo, who closed her eyes quickly. "Uh, brown?" Ochako guessed. She'd never really paid attention.
"Dark gray, actually. Some say onyx," Yaomomo answered. She opened her eyes and batted them at Ochako.
"Oh, good to know." Ochako turned over the card. "Dare: Send the last person you texted a cute selfie. That's not so bad."
Ochako grabbed her phone and froze when she looked at her sent texts.
"What is it?" Hagakure asked.
"Um, the last person I texted was Bakugou. About training this afternoon."
The room erupted into a frenzy of over-excited girls.
"You got the answer wrong, Ochako. You have to do it," Jirou said, unsuccessfully trying to contain a fit of laughter.
"Come on, Ochako!" Ashido encouraged as she and Hagakure jumped up and down with excitement.
Ochako groaned and took a selfie. She held her phone out, silently asking for approval.
"Oh, that's not cute enough," Yaomomo teased. "It said a cute selfie! Do a cute face!"
Ochako grimaced. She redid the selfie with a bigger grin with her finger poking her cheek for extra cuteness.
"Perfect! Send, send, send," Ashido chanted.
Ochako looked to Tsu for help but Tsu shook her head.
"It's the rules, Ochako," Tsu said and stuck her tongue out at her.
Ochako sighed then hit the button to send the text. Ashido shrieked and Ochako thought her face might split in two from grinning so widely.
"I guess now we see how he responds," Jirou said quietly, staring at Ochako's phone.
"Ha, like he will," Ochako responded sarcastically and picked up a card to hand to Tsu. "Your turn!"
Tsu took it and read the question.
"What is Ashido's favorite thing to eat for breakfast? Uh, I think you like natto, right?"
"Yep! Great memory, Tsu!" Ashido confirmed with a thumbs up. Tsu returned the gesture and read the truth section.
"Who would you kick out of class so Shinsou could join 2-A?"
"Mineta," all the girls said in unison. They all laughed and Jirou picked up her card.
"What is Hagakure's favorite candy?" Jirou read. She stared at the card, trying to think of an answer. "I'm sorry, Hagakure, I don't know."
"Oh, it's okay. It's caramels! They're so delicious!" Hagakure put her hands on her face as she wistfully thought about them.
Jirou turned over the card.
"Dare: Serenade someone of your choosing." Jirou glared at Yaomomo. "Did you know I'd pick this one?"
"No, it's random I promise!" Yaomomo assured. "But how lucky that we get to hear you sing again."
Jirou put the card down and began playing with her earphone jacks. She inhaled slowly then side-eyed Ochako.
"Who should I serenade?" She asked her. Ochako shrugged.
"Whoever you want! It said of your choosing," Ochako reminded her.
"Hmm. Excuse me." Jirou picked up her phone and left the room.
The girls looked at one another and ran to the door to put their ear on it, hoping to hear Jirou's beautiful voice.
"Hey, what's up?" The girls heard Kaminari's voice on the phone say.
"Oh, you know. Girls' night. I have to do a dare," Jirou mumbled quietly.
"A dare? What is it?" Kaminari sounded excited.
They heard Jirou take a deep breath. In her best acapella, she sang a soft, slow, lullaby version of 'Holding Out For a Hero'. It was an beautiful rendition that made the girls wonder if she'd been practicing that song for a while.
"Wow," all the girls whispered together when Jirou stopped singing.
"Wow, Jirou, that was amazing! I loved it. We can even record and mix it if you want. It's that good!" Kaminari sounded so encouraging and enthusiastic.
"Thanks," Jirou whispered, obviously still nervous. "Well, I'm going to go back to girls' night now."
"Have fun! Thank you for the song!"
The girls ran back to their sitting positions when they heard the call end and were sitting unnaturally still when Jirou came back in. Jirou froze upon seeing them as she realized they'd heard everything. She blushed a deep pink and sat back down, shoving her face into her palms.
"Please don't talk about it," Jirou pleaded.
"Talk about what?" Tsu questioned with a shrug. Yaomomo took a card and began to read aloud.
"What is Ochako's favorite Pokemon?"
Ochako wasn't big into Pokemon but there was one she loved. It was so cute!
"Hmm, Clefairy?" Yaomomo asked hesitantly after a minute of thought.
"Clefairy is a good pick but my favorite is actually Mew. Mew," Ochako mimicked the creature.
"I really like Skitty," Hagakure interjected. "Oh, and Teddiursa. The cute ones are the best!"
Ochako nodded in agreement. Yaomomo flipped over her card.
"Dare-" Yaomomo started until everyone heard Ochako's phone buzz. They all stared at it for a long time.
"Open it, Ochako," Tsu said quietly.
Ochako picked up her phone, her hands slightly shaking. She looked at the notification and she sighed with relief.
"It's my mom," Ochako breathed out and put her phone back down. She'd respond later.
"Oh, okay," Yaomomo said, slightly disappointed and continued reading her card. "Dare: Kiss anyone in this room on the mouth."
Yaomomo shrugged and went over to Ashido.
"Hell yes, come here!" Ashido squealed. Yaomomo grabbed Ashido's cheeks and gave her a good kiss on the lips. "My, do you know how to treat a girl right! Good kissing skills, Yaomomo."
Yaomomo winked then went back to sit in her spot. Ashido, still a little flustered, picked up her own card.
"What is Hagakure's favorite time of year? Summer!" Ashido answered quickly.
"Yep! I love the heat and swimming and all the cute boys in their summer clothes!" Hagakure answered loudly before she sighed happily thinking about it. Ashido looked down at her card and read her task.
"Truth: Which teacher is the hottest at U.A?" Ashido paused. "Well, it was Midnight no question."
The room got quiet as they remembered the fallen hero until Ashido chuckled and brought back the fun and silly atmosphere.
"Is it weird if I say Mr. Iida is hot?" Ashido asked with a giggle. "Mr. Kan is also up there with his strong, brooding vibe."
"I can see both," Yaomomo said, looking up at the ceiling as she pictured them in her mind.
"Does that mean you think Iida is hot?" Tsu asked.
"It's about the vibes, Tsu. Iida is so..." Ashido trailed off, shaking her head. She got up and did an impression of Iida, complete with the robotic arm movements he often utilized. "Quiet in class! I'm class rep, listen to me! No fun ever! Don't run in the hallways! Did I mention that I'm class rep?"
Everyone laughed. They knew what she meant. Mr. Iida was way more relaxed then his younger brother.
The girls continued with the game for another hour or so before getting ready for bed, completely worn out from the multitudes of truths and dares. Since they wouldn't all be able to fit in the floor bathroom, they went down to the common area to wash their faces and brush their teeth. Deku and Iida were working on homework at one of the tables but didn't acknowledge the girls other than a quick glance in their direction. However, as the girls were heading back to the elevator after they finished their nightly routines, Ochako heard a voice call her name.
"Wait, Uraraka! I have to ask you something," Deku called.
"Be up in second," Ochako told the girls as the doors closed and waited by the elevator. Deku jogged over then spoke in a hushed, incredibly confused voice.
"Do you know why Kacchan sent me a selfie of you?"
Ochako felt like a deer in headlights.
"Uh-no? Why-Why would he send that to you?" Ochako stumbled over her words. Deku shrugged slightly.
"You didn't ask him to do that? Why did he even have that picture?"
"I definitely didn't ask him to do that," she said in disbelief. Her brain didn't seem to be working properly. "He had it because of a stupid dare from girls' night."
"That makes more sense. Still weird that he sent it to me." Deku still appeared confused but he changed the conversation with a smile. "Anyway, have fun with the rest of girls' night! Sorry to bother you."
He went back to Iida to finish whatever they were working on.
"Get some sleep you two!" Ochako teasingly scolded as she entered the elevator but her heart was racing from the interaction.
"Of course, Uraraka, just after we finish this problem," Iida said gently as he smiled at her. The elevator doors closed and Ochako tried to wrap her head around the situation. Why had Bakugou sent that to Deku?
Ochako went back to Ashido's room, racking her brain for reasons Bakugou would have done that. The other girls were already quiet as they tried to fall asleep. Ochako crawled into her sleeping back and poked Tsu's back. Tsu wasn't making her signature sleepy frog sounds so Ochako knew she wasn't asleep yet. Tsu turned over and gave Ochako a questioning look.
"Bakugou sent the selfie to Deku," Ochako whispered quietly so no one else would hear.
"Midoriya? That's strange," Tsu whispered back. "I wonder why. Are you going to ask him?"
Ochako didn't know. Part of her wanted to forget about it but she was curious. The other part of her knew she wouldn't be able to stop thinking about it if she didn't ask. Ochako gave a slow nod as her answer.
"Tell me what he says. Good night, Ochako." Tsu turned away and Ochako sighed quietly. Tomorrow was going to be weird.
