Many weeks had passed since Hiccup had boarded the ship and Astrid had begun training with him. During those days no enemy ships had attacked The Fury. This was odd but not generally thought of among the crew. Astrid was walking up and down the ship. She was officially bored to death. It was hot and humid and nothing sounded better than dipping her legs into the ocean. So she walked down to the rudder. But it appeared that she wasn't alone. There floating in the ocean was none other than Hiccup. He was floating in the wake of the ship with a rope attached to his ankle so he wouldn't drift away. He already could swim faster than the ship and climb the mast. In fact, all of the hard exercises had made him strong and fit. At that moment Hiccup raised his head and realising he had company, unhooked the rope from his leg and swam to the rudder. Thoughout all this he was splashing considerably. Still the same old Hiccup.

"Astrid!" he slipped his shirt on. " to what do I owe the pleasure?"

Astrid smiled. They had become good friends during the weeks. " Oh I just came to relax in the shade."

She sat next to him not minding that he was soaking wet. She stared out at the beautiful sunset.

"There's a huge world out there full of wonder and adventure." This at least was her perspective.

Suddenly, she felt a soft brush on her hand. Knowing that Hiccup was reaching for her hand she said, "Many times pirates have fallen in love with each other at sea."

She still didn't look down.

" And everytime it doesn't end well."

The brush was gone.

" Well," Hiccup said, "there's a first time for everything. Right?"

"Yeah," she leaned closer till their lips almost touch," guess so..."

For a moment everything was perfect.

" Haddock!"

Astrid jerked away as Commander Eret walked onto the platform.

"Captain requests that you report to your station through the night. He has a strange feeling that our enemy's ship,The Cursed Soul, might attack us at night."

"On it. " Hiccup said as he rushed out to the main deck leaving Astrid alone to view the night sky.
