(Abigail's POV)

(Barbie In The Nutcracker - Barbie & Kelly practicing ballet steps by ovami nyu on YouTube)

*It was a snowy evening. My best friend, Lacey & I were in the studio of Miss Perkins' Dance Academy, helping our little friend Sasha, a black female cat with gold eyes, violet skin, & wearing a green leotard, tights, & ballet slippers, practice her routine for an upcoming Christmas Recital. Lacey was wearing a pink skirt over a pink leotard, pink tights & pink ballet slippers & dancing with Sasha. I was in charge of the music. It was Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nutcracker. Lacey was doing well, but Sasha was having a little trouble keeping up. At one point, she lost her footing while trying to do a step*

Lacey: You almost had it, Sasha. Here, let me show you.

*She demonstrated the step. Sasha tried again, but she lost her footing again. She groaned & sat on the floor*

Sasha: I'm going to get all these steps right, guys.

*I turned off the music. Then Lacey & I sat on the floor with her*

Lacey: If we keep practicing you will.

Sasha: But what if I freeze out there, in front of everybody?

Abigail: You've just gotta find the courage to try. *I paused for a minute* Like Sally.

Sasha: Sally? From the ballet?

Abigail: Uh-huh. You see, Sally lost her parents when she was very young. She, and her little brother Elias, were being raised by their Grandfather, Drosselmeyer. He loved them, but he was very stern . . .

(Third-Person POV)

*A brown female chipmunk with auburn hair, blue eyes, & wearing a red-orange gown (look up "Peach - Clara (Party Gown)" by "Katlime" on "DeviantArt") was staring at a snow globe with a dreamy smile*

Maximilian:*off-screen* Candles! We need more candles! *just then, a brown male squirrel with white eyebrows blue eyes, a white mustache, & wearing a black suits stepped up to the chipmunk**on-screen* Sally, please. No more daydreaming. We have to finish decorating before our guests arrive.

Sally: Yes, Grandfather.

*Just then, the grandfather clock chimed. Maximilian took out his pocket watch, which said 8:38 o'clock*

Maximilian: 22 minutes early. Such bad manners.

*He left to go answer the door. Sally took out a pink box. She opened it. Inside was a ballerina ornament. She picked it up. Behind her was a brown female woodchuck with white hair, blue eyes, a tan muzzle, & wearing a maid uniform (look up "Peach - Tohru" by "Katlime" on "DeviantArt")*

Rosie: It's beautiful, Miss.

Sally: Mother gave this to me. The Christmas I saw my first ballet.

*She put the ornament on the tree*

Rosie: Oh dear. *she picked up a gingerbread house that had pieces missing* The mice have found their way inti the Christmas boxes!

*Sally picked up a cookie ornament that was missing a leg*

Sally: Hmm . . . You haven't seen Elias, have you?

*She & Rosie looked around the room. Just then, she heard chewing sounds coming from behind the couch. She looked & found a brown male squirrel with auburn hair, blue eyes, & wearing a dark green suite, chewing on a cookie ornament. She took it away from him*

Elias: Hey!

*He crossed his arms & pouted. His lips were covered in frosting*

Sally: Mystery solved. *Elias stood up**laugh* You might want to wash off that frosting before the mice take a bite out of you.

Elias: You can't tell me what to do!

Sally: No. But on sure Grandfather will insist on a bath.

*He ran away. Sally shrugged at Rosie. Just then, a purple female hedgehog with dark purple hair, green eyes, peach skin, & wearing a white dress entered the room*

Aleena: Sally!

*Sally turned around & hugged the rabbit*

Sally: Aunt Drosselmeyer!

Aleena: You're at least a head taller.

Sally: I thought you weren't coming this year.

Aleena: And miss chance to visit you and vext my Uncle?

*Then Grandfather entered the room*

Maximilian: You're already conspiring against me.

Aleena: Don't worry. I'll wait until your party's over before I perform any mischief.

Maximilian: Hmph!

*Sally grabbed her arm*

Sally: Where did you go this time? I wanna hear all about it.

Aleena: Well, let's see. I met an Emperor, I sailed on a junk, I had my first rickshaw ride, and I hiked the Great Wall of China.

Maximilian: I'd appreciate it, Aleena, if you'd would stop stop filling Sally's head with your stories. Just because you go tracing all over the globe rather than stay put like a sensible person.

Aleena: There's a world full of wonders out there, Uncle. And Sally deserves to experience them. *just then, the doorbell rang again* Your guests are waiting.

Maximilian: Hmph!

*He left*

Aleena:*sigh* Some people never change. But we can always hope.

*That evening, after the party was over, Elias was playing with his toy soldiers while was listening to Aunt Aleena's stories*

Aleena: Then he bowed and asked me to dance.

Sally: Did you?

Aleena: I couldn't say no to the King.

Sally: You must've felt like a Princess. I wish I could've been there.

Aleen: Maybe next time, you can come with me.

Sally: Grandfather would never allow it.

*Aleena stood up, went over to a table & picked up two presents*

Aleena: Well, surely he won't object to these. *she gave one of the presents to Elias* Elias. *she gave the other to Sally* And for you, my dear.

*Elias opened his*

Elias: Wow! A Grenadier Guard and a Bengal Lancer! Thanks.

*Sally opened her present & found a nutcracker that looked like a blue male hedgehog with green eyes, peach skin, & wearing a tall black hat, a red military uniform, a red & black cape, white pants, & black boots (look up "Sonic Movie The Nutcracker" by "JocelynMinions" on "DeviantArt")*

Sally: A nutcracker. *she picked it up & moved it's arm up & down, making the mouth open & close* He's wonderful! Thank you, Aunt Aleena.

*She hugged her Aunt*

Elias: He sure is ugly.

Sally: Elias!

Aleena: Well, on the outside maybe. But inside beats the heart of a Prince.

Elias: Then I'll use him to command my army!

*Suddenly, he tried to grab the nutcracker from Sally*

Sally: Hey!

*They pulled back & forth until the nutcracker's arm broke*

Elias: Sorry.

*He gave the nutcracker back*

Sally: You're . . . Impossible! *she sat down on a couch* Please don't be angry with Elias. I'm sure he didn't mean to hurt you.

*She put the nutcracker's arm in a sling using a ribbon. Just then, the nutcracker's eye sparkled*
